GENTRY — Mytle Nowotny Armstrong, 83, of Gentry, formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville with burial at Knoxville cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Winnie Pipkins of Decatur, Mary L. Williams of Greenwood and Anna Hays of Las Vegas; a son, George Severn of Gentry; three sisters, Mary Mae Williams of Knoxville, Betty Hayes of Russellville and Patricia Smith of Pocola; a brother, Billy Nowotny of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Vallie Azbell
Vallie Azbell, 93, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a retired employee of Medi Homes Nursing Home in Fort Smith and the widow of Arnold Azbell.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by three sons, James and Donald Azbell, both of Fort Smith, and Ronald Azbell of Paris; a sister, Gertrude Ralls of Little Rock; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Charles Lefringhouse
MENA — Charles H. Lefringhouse, 81, of Mena died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Mena. He was born Jan. 13, 1923, in Camp Point, Ill. He was a World War II veteran.
The body was cremated under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Ginette.

Rose Walton
Rose Mary Walton of Fort Smith died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Yukon, Okla. She was born May 3, 1911, in Barling. She was the widow of Jesse Walton.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross Catholic cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Grant of Edmond, Okla.; three sisters, Cecilia Carpentieri and Ann Sparks, both of Fort Smith, and Alice Scheibel of O’Fallon, Mo.; a brother, John Bieker of O’Fallon, Mo.; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bernie, Jim and Jesse Barnard, Cliff Fitzmorris and Gary Grant.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1820 N. B St., Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Grace C. Knight
Grace C. Knight, age 91, of Fort Smith passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, Wesley Sunday School Class, Chancellor Choir and Republican Women’s Association; she worked for the Salvation Army with the Angel Tree, AARP and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Knight.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Goddard United Methodist Church with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Moore and her husband Buddy Moore of Fort Smith; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Willis and Mary Campbell of Van Buren and Billy Intres of Van Buren; three grandchildren, Bill Moore and his wife Debbie, and Michael and Timothy Moore; and four great-grandchildren, Deidre, Derek, Megan and Ashley Moore.
Pallbearers will be Bill, Michael, Timothy and Derek Moore.
Family visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Mary Sylvia Goodson Chambers
Mary Sylvia Goodson Chambers, 78, of Fort Smith died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born July 21, 1926, in Brazil, Okla. She was of the Baptist faith. Sylvia enjoyed visiting with friends and family and was always helpful to anyone in need. She especially enjoyed playing dominoes with dear friends Bill and Lucille Gaddis and residents of the Sebastian County Retirement Center. She was retired from General Electric after 22 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Chambers; her father and mother, Jacob and Virgie Goodson; and a brother, Andy Goodson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Shady Point cemetery in Shady Point.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Chambers of Anchorage, Alaska; dear friend, companion and former co-worker Tressie Cook; a brother, Mike and Johnnie Goodson of Albuquerque, N.M.; two nieces, Toni Carpenter and Rita Goodson; three nephews, Ed and Wes Goodson, Mike Goodson Jr. and their respective spouses and children; and three grandchildren.

Avis A. Maddox
Avis A. Maddox, 93, of Rudy died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, in her home. She was born Aug. 12, 1911, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a member of the Clavier Baptist Church. She and her late husband, John “Shorty” Maddox, owned the Maddox Donut Shop for many years. She had volunteered at the Senior Inn. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Bowman.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth and husband Jim Thompson of Rudy, Sarah Haviland of Flora, Ill., and Lois Huyser of Fort Smith; a sister, Lois Bowman of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Virgil and William Bowman, both of Springfield; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason and Darren Stamps, John Bivens, Jim Thompson, Gail Huyser, Bobby Brandenburg and Bill Stamps.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Virginia Harrison
Virginia McConnell Harrison, 83, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born on Oct. 30, 1921, in Springfield, Mo. She was a retired teacher of home economics for the Cedarville Public School System, a 1944 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University, a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and a former member of the Jaycees and Fort Smith Newcomers. She was the widow of Robert Harrison.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Martin of Fort Smith and Barbara Smith of Mulberry; a son, Mickey Harrison of Fort Smith; a brother, Thomas McConnell Jr. of Springfield; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be noon Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Joe Martin, Bob Martin Jr., Jeffrey Harrison and Khris Hickman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Clinic, 615 N. B St., Fort Smith, AR 72901; or the Sack Lunch Program of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 215 N. Sixth St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Charles Feight
Charles “Charlie” Feight, 49, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a building subcontractor and a veteran of the Air Force.
He is survived by his companion, Mary Sweem of Fort Smith; his mother, Kathleen Feight of Fort Smith; two sisters, Phyllis Cooper of Fort Smith and Mary Ashley of Hot Springs; and a brother, Patrick Feight of Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the U.S National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Denise Speegle
MANSFIELD — Sharman Denise Speegle, 51, of Mansfield died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood. The body was cremated.
She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Gasaway of Waldron and Jennifer Speegle of Hartford; two sons, Danny Speegle of Boston, Pa., and Kyle Speegle of Fort Smith; her mother, Bernice Black of Mansfield; a sister, Jan Dunn of Greenwood; two brothers, Derrick and Greg Black, both of Mansfield; and four grandchildren.

June Sutton
RUDY — June Sutton, 84, of Rudy died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Bill Erwin.
The body will be cremated and there will be no funeral service.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Curry of the home; a son, Ronnie Erwin of Rudy; a sister, Gladys Spaulding of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Lonetta Cooksey
BOONEVILLE — Lonetta Pearl Cooksey, 87, of Booneville died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in Booneville. She was born March 2, 1917, in Cooper, Texas. She was retired from Today’s Kids Manufacturing in Booneville and was a member of he Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Magazine.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Magazine under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Sellars of Memphis and Barbara Jones of Booneville; three sons, William Cooksey of Geneseo, Ill., Sam Cooksey of Booneville and Brian Cooksey of Magazine; three sisters, Edith Ratliff of Ben Franklin, Texas, Lou Johnson of New Boston, Texas, and Faye Roberts of De Kalb, Texas; two brothers, Dugan Sellars of De Kalb and Frank Sellars of Arlington, Texas; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Logan, Keith and Seth Cooksey, Kent Wilcher, James Hopkins and Jay and Steve Jenkins.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jean Sharpe
Jean Sharpe, 59, of Van Buren died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, in a local hospital. She was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church of God and a former nurse’s aide for Kimberly Home Health.
Funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Keith; two daughters, Mary Robinson of Dyer and Christina Burkhardt of Dyer; five sons, Robert Crawford of Jasper, Ga., Michael Robinson and Manuel Hernandez Jr., both of Dyer, James Robinson of Gainsville, Texas, and Paul Hernandez of Barling; two brothers, Harvey Bookout of Fresno, Calif., and Donnie Bookout of Pittsburg, Calif.; 30 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Robert Crawford, Michael and James Robinson, Manuel Hernandez Jr., Paul Hernandez and Trevor Robinson.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ruby Godwin
MANSFIELD — Ruby Irene Godwin, 96, of Mansfield died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in Charleston. She was retired from the Sunkist Citrus Association and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mansfield. She was the widow of Hershel Godwin.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Ivy Lawn cemetery in Oxnard, Calif.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ward and Jerry Riedel, both of Greenwood; a son, Donald Godwin of Mansfield; a sister, Pauline Harris of DeQueen; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ALTOGA, Texas — Ruby Jo Hathcock, 75, of Altoga died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in McKinney, Texas. She was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Collin County, Texas. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Terrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in McKinney with burial at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy; two daughters, Margaret Abbott of Roland and Paula Fowles of Altoga; two sons, Mike Hathcock of Altoga and Larry Hathcock of Blue Ridge, Texas; seven brothers, W.E. Evans of McKinney, Gene and Bob Evans, both of Allen, Texas, Billy Evans of Anna, Texas, Troy Evans of Fort Worth, Texas, Jack Evans of Greenville, Texas, and Cleo Evans of Garland, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
