Donna Brumbelow
NUNLEY — Donna Lynn Brumbelow, 67, of Nunley died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in her home. She was born May 19, 1937, in Hot Springs, Ore. She was a homemaker and a member of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Service Memorial Chapel in Mena with burial at Nunley cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, C.F.; two daughters, Brenda Fisher of Hatfield and Pam Huff of Mena; two sons, Ted Brumbelow of Fayetteville and Keith Brumbelow of Bentonville; a sister, Mary; two brothers, Michael and Dallas; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Polk County Humane Society.

Wilma Foster
Wilma Waynne Foster, 93, of Booneville died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005. She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Booneville and the widow of Everett Foster.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville with burial at Ellsworth cemetery in Midway.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Foster of Batesville and Joseph Foster of Forest Park, Ohio; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Western Arkansas, 320 N. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Zachary Johnson
Zachary Charles Johnson, infant son of Zachary and Angela Johnson of Fort Smith, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital.
Private graveside service for family will be at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Trystan and Connor Johnson, both of the home; maternal grandparents, David and Nancy Love of Cedarville; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Alice Johnson of Van Buren; maternal great-grandmother Anna Love of Fort Smith; and paternal great-grandparents, Dorothy Johnson of Van Buren and James and Colleen Stevenson of Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Attn: Foundation Department, 800 Marshall St., Little Rock, AR 72202.

Joyce Johnson
Joyce Oldham Johnson, 86, of Fort Smith died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at a hospice in Tyler, Texas. She was born Dec. 26, 1918, in Lavaca. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1936 and was a homemaker and a member of Fort Smith Baptist Church. She was the widow of Col. John Johnson.
Service will be 1:30 p.m. today at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Andrea Naifeh of Wichita, Kan.; three sons, John Johnson of Denton, Texas, Philip Johnson of Lubbock, Texas, and David Johnson of Tyler; a sister, Zena Manville of Fort Smith; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.

Carol Landfair
TILLAR — Carol Cherry Landfair, 69, of Tillar died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005. She was born Nov. 27, 1935, in Fort Smith. She grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Fort Smith High School. She attended Hendrix College and graduated from Henderson State University. After student teaching in Little Rock for one year, she taught at Air Force base schools in Japan and Scotland. She then taught in Dumas for two years. She spent the rest of her teaching career with the Desha-Drew School District in Tillar, primarily as a kindergarten teacher. She retired in 1991 after teaching 32 years. She was a member of Tillar United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of United Methodist Women. She was also a 27-year breast cancer survivor.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tillar United Methodist Church with burial at Tillar cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Cherry Goldsholl of Little Rock and Stacy Pomeroy of St. Michael, Minn.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cherry of Poteau; a sister, Linda Roseman of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Tom Cherry of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Steve Cherry of Poteau; and two grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tillar United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 85, Tillar, AR 71670; or Arkansas Hospice Inc., 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, AR 72204.

Carmelita Sicard Echols
Carmelita Sicard Echols died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, in her home. She was born on Jan. 20, 1906, in Fort Smith to A.N. and Ella Sicard. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith and a graduate of The College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, N.Y.
She is survived by her son Mont S. Echols Jr.; daughter-in-law Ann of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Mont S. Echols III and wife Juli of New Orleans, Elizabeth Echols of Columbia, Mo., Katherine Ahrens and her husband Mark of Atlanta and Michael Echols of Fort Smith; eight great-grandchildren Courtney, Ashley and Thomas Echols, Mont S. Echols IV, and Molly, Ella, Claire and Lillie Ahrens; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. McLoud Sicard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mont S. Echols, and her brother, McLoud Sicard.
Rosary will be said today at 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, and Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church. By family request, there will be a private family interment in Cavalry cemetery following the Mass.
Pallbearers will be Allen Baker, William Buergler, William Eads, Birnie Harper, Daniel Roebuck, Sam M. Sicard, Douglas Smith and Ewell Lee.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way, 320 S. 18th St., Fort Smith, AS 72901; Christ the King Catholic Church, 1920 S. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901; or the charity of one’s choice.

Julia Sherrill
WALDRON — Julia Earnestine Slater Sherrill, 84, of Waldron died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, in her home. She was a member of the Lamb Church and was retired from Tyson Foods.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb Church with burial at Lamb cemetery in Waldron under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; six daughters, Wanda Ferguson, Mary Adams, Linda Hunt, Norene Trozzi and Judy Mahurin, all of Waldron, and Carolyn Wagner of Benton; two sons, Clifton Slater of Waldron and Larry Slater of Greenwood; a half sister, Elsie of Booneville; a half brother, Chuck Wilson of Fort Smith; 24 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Terry Martin, Eric Adams, Murphy and McClain McEntire and Travis and Brent Slater.
The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mildred Loyd
Mildred F. Loyd, 70, of Van Buren died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a longtime member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, a lifelong resident of Crawford County and a retired grocery store employee for the Co-op and Apple Mart.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Bridges of Fort Smith; a son, Randy Loyd of Van Buren; two sisters, Ollie Farrar of Van Buren and Wanda Thomas of Alma; a brother, Jack Owens of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy and Gary Bowen, Carol and Terry McClure, David Crabtree, Leonard Huff and Bob and Garry Moore.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren.

Charlicey Barton
Charlicey M. Barton, 84, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with graveside service at 2 p.m. at Bethesda cemetery in Lincoln.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Barton; two daughters, Gloria Shannon of Fort Smith and Faye Villines of Van Buren; a son, Gene Barton Jr. of Shreveport, La.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Van Buren.

Clara Taylor
GLENFORD, Ohio — Clara B. Taylor, 96, of Glenford, formerly of Central City, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, in Newark, Ohio. She was the former original owner of the White Spot and the Skiver Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Central Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Bowling League of Fort Smith. She was the widow of Willard Taylor.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

John William Post
John William Post, 83, of Fort Smith died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a retired auto mechanic from American Motors Co. in Glendale, Calif. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Margaret Post; and a brother, Lenn Post Jr.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by two sons, John R. Post and his fiancee, Susan Weindel of Fort Smith, and Richard A. Post of Fort Smith; four sisters, Martha Metz of Lavaca, Gloria Roberts and Rowena Robison of Fort Smith, and Carol Lowery of Houston. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Knight, Bud Knight, Zack Robison, Robert Post, Don Mark Post and Frankie Post.
The family will visit with friends today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.

Patricia Galloway
Patricia Galloway, 75, of Woodland Park, Colo., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Woodland Park. She was a member of Ute Pass Social Club, PEO Sisterhood Woodland Park Chapter IL, a volunteer at Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce, an accountant for Arkansas Best Corp., and the widow of the late Albert Galloway.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Cunningham of Woodland Park, Colo.; a son, Albert Galloway of Lake Wales, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to noon today at Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Dennis Eugene Osborn
Dennis Eugene Osborn, 66, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in Greenwood. He was a tool and die maker with Fox Manufacturing, a Navy veteran and a Protestant.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at U.S. National cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Locke of Fayetteville; three sons, Scott Osborn of Blue Eye, Mo., John Osborn with the Navy in Temecula, Calif., and Mikel Osborn of Fort Smith; three sisters, Willa, Brenda and Joan, all of Kansas; a brother, Ed Osborn of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Winona M. Porter
Winona M. Porter, 92, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Earline Dahlem of Fort Smith and Francie Ann Mann of Huntington; one son, Sandy Porter and wife Joy of Fort Smith; one sister, Mildred Gillilan of Fort Smith; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. Porter.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today at the First Lutheran Church in Fort Smith with burial to follow at Oak cemetery, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Scott and Mark Porter, Stuart and Dan Britting, Jason Patillo and Bill Mann.
