LaFalene Stewart
(November 3, 1928 - October 24, 2014)

Lafalene, lovingly called "Lafa" by those dearest to her was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on November 3, 1928. The daughter of Booker T. and Corine Perloat knew from a young age that she wanted a large family. Over 80 years ago, at the tender age of six, she met Samuel Stewart, her future husband and the love of her life. They went on to marry on June 21, 1944. Their family grew to nine children, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was one of her greatest accomplishments and source of great pride and joy. She was well known for her culinary skills and loved to entertain. On any given weekend, her home was filled with family and friends: eating, laughing, and enjoying her company. Her elegance preceded her, but she was no stranger to hard work - not a lazy bone in her body. Truly a phenomenal woman: whether hosting a dinner party, shelling peas, or sitting on the banks with her bamboo fishing pole, she carried herself with a regal spirit, yet with humility and southern charm. She was a dedicated Witness of Jehovah God, a woman of deep conviction and faith. She loved sharing the Kingdom Message and bringing comfort to others. We all could not help but take note of her skill as a bible teacher always ready with the best illustrations. Lafalene took her rest on Friday, October 24, 2014. She is survived by: Husband: Samuel Stewart, Daughter: Doris (Robert) Pitts, Daughter: Barbara (Robert) Redmond, Son: Samuel (Toni) Stewart Jr., Daughter: Gwendolyn Woodson, Daughter: Linda (Elbert) Haynes, Son: Danny (Wendy) Stewart, Daughter: Virginia (Michael) VanWinkle, Son: Frederick Stewart, Son: Trent Stewart. And a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
