Cody Edward Smalling

October 8, 1992 - August 11, 2012

North Little Rock, Arkansas

Cody Edward Smalling, 19, of North Little Rock departed on Saturday August 11, 2012.
Cody was employed at Parker-Lexus and had attended Oak Grove High School. Cody loved hunting, fishing, working with cars and hanging out with his friends and family. Cody's loving personality and ability to make people smile will be greatly missed.
Cody is survived by his parents, Todd and Tracy Smalling; sister, Maegan Smalling-Hester; brother, Clayton Smalling; grandmother, Patsy Wilson; grandmother, Bobbie Jean Smalling; great-grandmother, Juanita Vinson; grandfather, Ray Smalling; nieces, Peyton Hester and Makenzie Skaggs; nephew, Landon Skaggs, all of North Little Rock; uncle, Allen Green; aunt, Sherry Green; cousins, Scarlett and Samantha Green, of Vilonia; uncle, John Vinson; aunt, Susan Matthews; and many, many friends. Cody was preceded in death by his beloved "Poppy" Carrol Wilson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dennis Ruple.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Graves Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.

John Wayne Wilkerson

August 11, 1944 - October 24, 2012

North Little Rock, Arkansas

John Wayne Wilkerson, 68, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012. His belief was of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He was retired from Kennedy Heat and Air after many years. John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved gardening, being outdoors and cooking on his grill.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lois Jean Allender Wilkerson, of North Little Rock; son, Patrick Wayne Wilkerson (Jacquelyn) of Ward, daughter, Rhonda Kay Delasandro (Jeff) of Searcy, stepdaughter, Jeanna Davenport (Steve) of Jacksonville, stepson, Brian Cothren (Melanie) of Searcy; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Perry Wilkerson (Dona) of Western Grove, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Rita Wilkerson and brother, David Wilkerson.
Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 230 Smokey Lane, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.

William "Bill" Stark

September 7, 1925 - September 22, 2012

Sherwood, Arkansas

William "Bill" Stark, 87, of Sherwood passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012. He was a member of Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. He was a Navy Seabee and was retired from the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his two sons, William Andy Stark, and wife Cyndee, of Sherwood, and Tommy Lawson, of North Little Rock; two daughters, Eva Price and husband, Roy, of Little Rock, and Kathy Rogers and husband, Eddie, of Sherwood; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Susie Capps Stark; brothers O.D. and C.B. Stark; and sister, Lorene Evans.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kenya Syriat Bible School c/o 7th and Mueller, Church of Christ, 1000 S. 7th Street, Paragould, AR 72450.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.

Ted "Wayne" Sorrels

May 6, 1943 - July 3, 2012

Maumelle, Arkansas

Ted "Wayne" Sorrels, 69, of Maumelle passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012. He was a retired superintendant from V.C.C., Llc. and a United States Navy Vietnam veteran. He was an avid golfer, fly fisherman and comedian.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bonnie (Baker) Sorrels, of Maumelle; daughter Shannon Sorrels; brother, Gary Sorrels, both of Phoenix, Arizona; three brother-in-laws, Don Baker (Barbara) and George Baker (Terri), both of Malvern and Allen Baker (Melinda) of Gulf Port, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Edith Sorrels; and his son, Patrick Wayne Sorrels.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.

William "Bill" Welsh

July 17, 1937 - July 1, 2012

Traskwood, Arkansas

William "Bill" Welsh, 74, of Traskwood died July 1, 2012. He was born July 17, 1937 in Washington, PA to the late Marvin Welsh and Nellie Mays Welsh. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and was owner of Bill's Pool Service. Bill enjoyed motorcycling, fishing and hunting. He was involved in VFW Post 2256 Benton and was president of "Maverick Mixers" square dancers. Bill enjoyed working with the youth of the community including coaching baseball and cub master for the Boy Scouts.

Bill was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel & Mark Welsh. Survivors include his wife, Velma Smart-Welsh and son, Anthony Smart of the home, son, Charlie Smart (Zaida), daughters: Racheal Motes (Lee), Robin Dorsey (Randy), Melissa Reunard (Steve) and sons: Paul Welsh and Gerald Welsh; siblings: Randolph, Jeremiah (Donna), Anna May, Nita (Kenneth) and Romina (Paul); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, adopted children and extended family members.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR. The family will receive friends at Traskwood Community Center from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Friday. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.

George T. "Butch" Evans

March 1, 1946 - July 21, 2012

North Little Rock, Arkansas

George T. "Butch" Evans, of North Little Rock, was born March 1, 1946 and died Saturday, July 21, 2012. He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Lisa Evans; mother, Jeanetta Evans; sisters, Daisy (Ken) Frizzel and Carolyn (Tommy) Finley; nephew, Jason Finley; niece, Carrie (Chris) Hum; great-niece, Snowbird Hum; step-children, Seth Long and Christi Barg.
He was preceded in death by the best dogs ever, Saint, Cody, Misty and Jockamo.
Memorials may be made to North Little Rock Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 5757, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72119.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.
His favorite quote from Jimmy Buffett: "Some of it was magic, some of it was tragic, but I had a good life all the way." Everybody drink a cold beer.

Judy Ann Screeton

February 11, 1947 - June 29, 2012

Greers Ferry, Arkansas

Judy Ann Benjamin Screeton, 65, of Greers Ferry, passed away June 29, 2012. She was born February 11, 1947 in Jonesboro to Herbert and Marzella Hamilton Benjamin. She was a teacher in the Pulaski County Special School District and was retired from the Arkansas Department of Education.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ralph Screeton, Jr. of Greers Ferry; three sons, Ralph Screeton, III and wife, Teresa of Conway, Ben Screeton and wife, Amy of Maumelle, Jamie Screeton and wife Carrie of North Little Rock; six grandchildren, Ralph IV, Farris, Haylea, Jagger, Dylan, Mia-Grace; two great-grandchildren, Gracie and Parker Coy.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 1, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Mary Lois Ramsey Watts

December 10, 1919 - June 30, 2012

North Little Rock, Arkansas

Mary Lois Ramsey Watts, 92, of North Little Rock, passed away Saturday morning, June 30, 2012. She was born December 10, 1919 in Bauxite, Arkansas, the only child of Alfred Ramsey & Lula Carson Ramsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl T. Watts and son, Jim Watts. Mary is survived by a host of family and dear friends. Mary worked 39 years for Linda McCree at Fashion Corner.

Home going will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Arkansas Hospice and Springcreek Living Center in Cabot. The family requests that memorials be made to Arkansas Hospice.

Eleanor Hoelzeman Yanker

September 29, 1915 - July 1, 2012

Eleanor Hoelzeman Yanker, 96, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012. She was the last of 8 children born to the late John and Elizabeth Linneman Hoelzeman. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and a current member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Steve Yanker of North Little Rock; children, Mary Frances Kremers, of Sherwood, Jerry Yanker (Ara), of North Little Rock, Marilyn Powers, of Sherwood and Carolyn Wenger, of North Little Rock; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church Building Fund, 211 W. 19th St., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114 or North Little Rock Catholic Academy, 1518 Parker Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday July 6, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday July 5, 2012 followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Interment will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Family will be at 513 Windhill Drive, North Little Rock.
