George Toney

George Edward Toney Jr., 86, of Rogers, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at his home. He was born March 16, 1926 in Orange, Texas the son of Olivia and George Toney.

He served in the United States Navy. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. In years past, he enjoyed fishing and had a desire to work. He enjoyed watching Razorback football.

He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous sisters, and one daughter.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Toney, of the home; three sons including Jason Toney and his wife, Monica, of Gravette, Arkansas; one daughter; numerous grandchildren including grandsons, Nathan and Caleb; and many great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Campbell Cemetery in Greenland at 10:00 a.m.

Larry Davis

Larry Dale Davis, 62, of Cabot, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 22 at his home.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and music.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, T.J.; daughters, Tesha, Crystal, and Larayna; brothers, Dwight, Leslie, Malcomb, Dale, and Shandy; sisters, Paula and Tonya; and 20 grandchildren.

Judy Johnson

Judy Rae Johnson, 59, of Springdale, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Springdale. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son, James Johnson, and his wife, Sue; her brother, Jerry Talley, and his wife, Roma; her sister, Mary Baker, and her husband, Harry; two grandchildren, Seth Johnson and Felicia Johnson, both of Springdale, Arkansas.

Graveside service will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse, Arkansas.

Memorials may be sent to Circle of Life Hospice House, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72764.

Gertrude Scott

Gertrude “Trudy” Scott, 88, of Fayetteville died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Fayetteville City Hospital.

She was preceded by her husband and parents.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynn “Sita” Scott and Lucia Ploskey, and three grandchildren.

Raymond Friend

Raymond Walter Friend, 81 of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born February 3, 1931 in Iowa the son of Susan Fulcher and Herbert Leo Friend.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was a realtor for many years and had lived in Bella Vista for over 39 years after moving from Iowa. He was very active in his church and a member of Gideon’s International.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Raymond is survived by one son, Michael Friend and his wife, Kelli, of Bentonville, Arkansas; one daughter, Rita Larson and her husband, Dale, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two brothers, Herbert “Rocky” Friend and his wife, Dorothy, of Kansas and Richard Friend and his wife, Ione, of Iowa; four grandchildren, Scott Larson, Chris Friend, Lacey Larson, and Heather Gabriele; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Bella Vista Assembly of God in Bella Vista.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Bella Vista Assembly of God in Bella Vista. Interment will follow at National Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Karen Taylor

Karen Renee Taylor, 49, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born February 5, 1963.

She was a dental assistant for many years.

She is survived by three children including Taylor Barron of Gentry, Arkansas.

Joanne Pack

Joanne Lynn Pack, 41, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas died Thursday May 17, 2012 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born October 26, 1970 in Schenectady, New York.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Pack, whom she married November 3, 2008; her mother, Susan Woodward; one step-brother, Randall Pack; two daughters, Cathy Adkins and Leeza Carlson; one brother, William Carlson; two sisters, Sharyn Ferrari and Chandelle Wilkinson; and three grandchildren.

Memorial service will be Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at First Christian Center of Siloam Springs with Pastor Jason officiating.

John Carter

Family and friends mourn the loss of John (Jack) C. Carter on May 15, 2012 in his home in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imo Jean Elliott Carter, in 2001.

Born in Moline, Kansas on May 27, 1924, he spent his time hunting, playing basketball, and taking care of his sisters, Darlene Rountree and Connie Hale. In adulthood, he was the district manager of supply and distribution for Skelly Oil Company/Getty Oil in Kansas City, Missouri and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As a cherished father to Linda Carter-Heath and Mitchell Carter, he shared his love of reading sports, travel, and golf. Jack was a special grandfather to Andrew and John O. Heath as he taught them about farm life, history, and hard work. His great-grandchildren, Nate, John-Michael, Zoe, and Simon adored his sense of humor and knock-knock jokes.

Everyone who knew him enjoyed his laughter and jokes for every occasion. He will be laid to rest May 21, 2012. His service will be May 21 at Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas. He will be missed.

Betty Dozier

Betty Dozier, 48, of Fayetteville, Arkansas died Sunday, May 1, 2012 in Fayetteville.

She graduated from West Campus in 1981 and was a member of “The Well” Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother.

She is survived by her mother, Patsy Davis, of Fayetteville, three sisters, and one brother.

Viola B. Williams

May 8th, 1924 - November 2nd, 2014

Viola B. Williams, 90, of Springdale passed away November 2, 2014 at Maples Nursing Home following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a faithful Christian wife, mother, grandmother and a special friend to many. Vi was for born to the late Marvin and Mary Gant on May 8, 1924 in Saltillo, TN. She graduated high school from Bernie, MO and Southeast Missouri University Cape Girardeau, MO. She served as a 1st grade teacher in Missouri and Illinois for over 30 years. She was a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ and was very active in World Bible School helping many over the world learn about her Savior, Jesus Christ. Vi was truly a loving servant to her family and many friends. She was preceded by her husband Marvin D. Williams and 6 siblings. Survivors include her sister Ruby Holman of California; one daughter Sandy Ware and her husband Harry of Springdale, AR; sons Brian Williams of Alton, IL and Jerry Williams of Vincennes, IN, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Culpepper Place Assisted Living, Maples Nursing Home, and Circle of Life Hospice for their living care throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s.

Gary Hiram Winslow

November 11th, 1955 - November 12th, 2014

Gary Hiram Winslow, 59, passed away on November 12, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born November 11, 1955 in Portland, Maine to Donald and Patricia Seger Winslow. Gary served in the US Army achieving the rank of Corporal Specialist 4. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, son, father, grandfather and brother. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Donald Winslow; his brother, Bruce Winslow; and his daughter, Crystal Winslow. Gary is survived by his wife, Joyce Houston Winslow; his mother, Patricia Winslow; his daughter, Jessica Winslow of Longmont, CO; his son, Kelland Winslow of Pasadena, CA; his siblings, Dawn Morey, Donald Winslow, Linda Plumlee, Robyn Lunderby, and Keith Winslow; two grandchildren, Skye Gibson and Carter Winslow; and his beloved pet, Miss Kitty.
