Lula B. "Lou" Jones

June 4, 1939 - September 22, 2011

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula B. Lou Jones, age 72, will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM in First Baptist Church, Taylor, AR with Bro. Vernon Lee officiating and Bro. Randy Wilson assisting. Interment will follow in Taylor Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Taylor, AR.

Mrs. Jones, the youngest of thirteen children, was born June 4, 1939 in Taylor, AR to Early R. and Ivy Keeton Harvey and passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Springhill, LA. She was a resident of Taylor, AR and a member of Taylor First Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones went to work for Citizens Bank and Trust, September 1972 and finally retired December 2010.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Clell Jones of Taylor, AR; son, Jeffrey W. Jones and wife, Ginger of Taylor, AR; five grandchildren, Laci Lobbs, Joshua Jones, Caleb Jones, Justin Jones, Presley Jones; three great grandchildren, Cody, Hunter, Thomas; sisters, Bertha Wallace of Atlanta, TX, Maude Jennings of Taylor, AR; brother, George Harvey and wife, Myra Jane of Taylor, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; son, Raymond Alan Jones, five brothers and four sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Foster, Russ Campbell, Bruce Hoyle, Scott Hoyle, Todd Winkler and Tim Crews.

Claudie Marie Hall

January 5, 1936 - January 29, 2012

Claudie Marie Hall, age 76 of Calion, passed from this life on Sunday January 29, 2012 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.She was born January 5, 1936 in Calhoun County, Arkansas to the late Jim and Nora (Clarkston) McKenzie. In addition to being a homemaker Claudie also worked as a line worker for a poultry hatchery and was a private sitter for the elderly. She was a member of The Pentecostal Fellowship Church of El Dorado. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Leon Hall, Three sisters, Joan Pepper, Ruby Taylor, and Evelyn Norton, and three brothers Ervin McKenzie, Eddie Davis, and Sammy Davis.

Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Gail Haynes and husband, Thomas of Old Union, Linda Ellis and Sandra Haynes and husband Marvin, all of Calion, and one son, Tony Hall and wife Natasha also of Calion. Three grandsons, Kevin Haynes, and Kenny Haynes both of Old Union and Chris Ellis of Oklahoma. Four granddaughters, Donna Johnson of Old Union, Heather Smith of Camden, Regina Chandler of Woodbury, Ar. and Alyssa Hall of El Dorado. Six great grandchildren, Brianna Haynes, and Zach Haynes both of Old Union, Joseph Ellis, and Rachel Ellis both of Calion, Lauren Alphin of Norphlet and Kalee Smith of Camden.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in El Dorado with Bro. Bill Carter and Bro. Mac Ables officiating. Burial will follow at Champagnolle cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Georgia Mae Karch

May 21, 1926 - October 7, 2010

Georgia Mae Karch, 84 of El Dorado, AR; died on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation following a lengthy illness.

Born on May 21, 1926 in Wheatfield, IN., Georgia was the daughter of Michael and Zelma Clark Lakomek. Georgia worked for 26 years at Cooper Tire in the production department. She was very religious and enjoyed reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Randall Randy Karch, a daughter Marilyn Ivy, and her husband Donald James Karch.

Survivors are daughters Donna Karch of El Dorado and Jane Williams, a brother Jim Lakomek and his wife Beverly of Portage, IN. along with 13 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver LaTonya McVickers, CNA at Timberlane Rehab.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Burns-Ebenezer Cemetery with Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P. M. Friday at Bailey Funeral Home

Leonard A Lewis

August 3, 1926 - February 28, 2011

Leonard A. Lewis, 84 of El Dorado died on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a lengthy illness.

Born on August 3, 1926 in Mount Holly, Arkansas; he was the son of Sammy and Pearl Smith Lewis. Leonard served in the Pacific Theater with the Army Air Corp during World War II. After the war he attended Louisiana Tech. He joined Murphy Oil Corporation and retired after thirty-eight years in the Land Department. Leonard was a member of First Presbyterian Church for fifty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Francis Lee Lewis and Freeman Lewis.

He will be missed by both his family and many friends. Survivors are his wife Josephine Burson Lewis of El Dorado, a son Larry ( S J ) Lewis of Houston TX, a daughter Jo Lynn (Bobby) Bays of Lafayette, LA and granddaughters Jennifer Bays, Elizabeth Bays, Lindsey Lewis and Natalie Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Dan Loomis officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of El Dorados Haiti Fund, 300 East Main Street, El Dorado, AR 71730

Mary Catherine Bullard
December 18, 1929 - July 9, 2012

Mary Catherine Bullard, age 82 of El Dorado, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at her home in Parkers Chapel. She was born on December 18, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Louis and Maureen McAuliffe Gatz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Bullard.

Those left to cherish her memory include; two grandsons, David Brown of Norphlet and Michael Brown of El Dorado; two great grandsons, Clayden Brown and Cameron Brown both of Norphlet; one sister Judy Main of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Cremation graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery with Bro. J.D. Weido officiating.

Elon Harrison (Joe) Owen

August 21, 1935 - January 6, 2009

Elon Harrison Joe Owen of Magnolia passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. He was born August 21, 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas to Iven Ernest and Eula Mae (Ledbetter) Owen.

Joe knew early on that he wanted to work in the oil industry. He dedicated his entire career to the oil industry and became very successful as the owner and operator of several businesses, most notably Owen Contracting Services and Owen Drilling Company. In his younger years Joes favorite past time was flying his airplane. He was also an avid sportsman and loved to hunt and fish.

Joe was a Baptist and attended Immanuel Baptist Church for several years.

He is preceded in death by parents, three brothers, Carl Owen, Harold Owen and Charles Owen, three sisters, Ernestine Gilstrap, Vera Belle Makare, Jessie Mae Tomlinson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52yrs., Bobbie Jean Owen of Magnolia, a daughter, Gina (Owen) Sherrouse and husband, Shawn, a grandson, Cody Sherrouse all of Magnolia, two sisters, Ladell Young of Arlington, Tx., Neva Berg of Burleson, Tx., twenty nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be 2:00pm, Friday, January 9, 2009 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Arrington officiating and assisted by Dean Owen. Burial will follow at Riddick Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Visitation will be Thursday, evening 6-9pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Christ Haven Orphanage For Children, 4150 Keller Haslett Rd., Keller, Tx. 76244 or John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, Ar. 71730.

Don E. Ramey

March 7, 1952 - November 2, 2011

Don E. Ramey, 59 of Junction City, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the John R. Williamson House following a brief illness.

Born March 7, 1952 in Evansville, Indiana he was the son of Robert E. and Irene Harmon Ramey. Mr. Ramey was the owner of Archery Discount Supply in El Dorado and a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ramey and a son Benjamin Ramey both of Junction City. Also surviving are his parents, Robert and Irene Ramey of El Dorado and a brother, Bob Ramey and his wife Cheryl of Ocala, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Three Creeks Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Elliott and Rev. James Sparks officiating. Interment will follow in the Three Creeks Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Friday evening at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado.

Memorials may be made to Three Creeks Baptist Church Building Fund, 8772 Haynesville Highway, Junction City, AR 71749 or to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.
