Velma Ward Cochran
January 30, 1929 - October 20, 2004

Velma Ward Cochran, 75, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died October 20, 2004, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Cochran was born January 30, 1929, in Atkins, Arkansas, to the late Will and Parthina Dudley Ward. She was reared and received her education in Morrilton, Arkansas.
She was co-owner of Cochran Motors for 25 years before retiring in 1988.
Mrs. Cochran was Pentecostal.
She is survived by one son, Dannie Wayne Cochran of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Danyelle Young, Thad Cochran, and Todd Cochran; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Arline, Will Young, Alexis Womack, McKenzie Cochran, Briana Cochran; and two sisters, Mildred Young, Dolly Smith, both of Morrilton, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.G. Cochran, who died June 1, 1988; two brothers, Don Ward and Seaburn Ward; and three sisters, Elizabeth Williams, Mary Robinson, and Effie Shifflet.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Robinson's.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2004, at 10:00 AM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Billy West officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

C. A. ( Bill ) McNeill
September 18, 1923 - September 25, 2001

C. A. "Bill" McNeill, 78, of Little Rock, longtime Pine Bluff resident, died Tuesday, September 25, 2001, at his home. Born on September 18, 1923 in Watson, Arkansas, a son of the late L. C. and Jennie Watson McNeill, he was reared by the late Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Cunningham, Sr. in Pine Bluff. The 1943 graduate of Pine Bluff High School married the former Erma Rife on October 19, 1951 in Little Rock.
Mr. McNeill was employed as a salesman by Welch Motor Company for many years in Pine Bluff and would later retire from Motes Buick in 1989 after 11 years. He was co-owner of Eden Park Country Club where he served on the Board of Directors. He also worked in the retail clothing business for a number of years in both Little Rock and Pine Bluff. He was a former member of Lakeside United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff and current member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Phillip E. McNeill of Batesville Arkansas, Paul D. McNeill of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Robert B. McNeill of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Vicki S. McNeill of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Frances Delahunt of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and ten grandchildren.
Services are 10:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2001, in Robinson's Chapel with visitation Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Robinson's. Interment is in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Little Rock. The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Annie Augusta McEntire
December 30, 1911 - January 01, 2002

Annie Augusta McEntire, 90, of Pine Bluff died Tuesday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 30, 1911 in England, Arkansas a daughter to the late William Reece and Carrie Mae Adams Faver.
Mrs. McEntire was reared and received her early education in Jefferson County. She received her degree as a License Practical Nurse from Pine Vocational School. Mrs. McEntire worked at the Davis Hospital and Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She also worked as a private duty nurse for many years.
Mrs. McEntire married Bruce L McEntire, Sr., on May 30, 1931 in Jefferson County. She was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church and Watson Chapel Garden Club.
Mrs. McEntire is preceded in death by a son; Harold Gene McEntire.
Survivors include her husband; Bruce L. McEntire, Sr. of Pine Bluff, a son; Bruce L. McEntire, Jr. of Little Rock, a daughter; Shirley Ann McEntire Lett of Kileen, Texas, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 5 to 7 PM at Ralph Robinson's. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2002 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Howard Loetscher officiating. Burial will be at Fitzhugh Cemetery.

Barbara Laverne Ross Hooker
December 17, 1954 - October 24, 2004

Barbara Laverne Ross Hooker, 49, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, October 24, 2004 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 17, 1954 in Warren, Arkansas, a daughter of the late David and Maudine Ross.
Mrs. Hooker was reared and received her early education in Warren, graduating from Warren High School. She attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Barbara Ross married Charles Hooker, Jr., on April 11, 1981 in Warren.
She was an active member of Shell Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. Mrs. Hooker also volunteered for the Jefferson County 4-H Club.
Mrs. Hooker had been a Kindergarten teacher at Trinity Episcopal School since 1998.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Hooker, Jr.; two daughters, Leslie Ann Hooker and Casey Lynn Hooker of Pine Bluff; one brother, Gary Ross of Woodlawn; three sisters, Kay Rauls of Rolla, Missouri, Martha Evans of Pine Bluff, and Mary Kathryn Treglown of Pine Bluff; four nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Pastor Lance Walker, Father Walter Van Zandt Windsor and Pastor Lisa Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Shell Chapel Cemetery by Robinson's.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 26, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Robinson's.
Memorials are requested to Trinity Episcopal School, 703 West 3rd Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601.

Dave J. Lupo
August 24, 1924 - October 27, 2004

Dave J. Lupo, 80, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004. Born in Pine Bluff on August 24, 1924, a son of the late Frank and Filomena Aureli Lupo, he was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, attending Annunciation Academy and graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He served in the United States Navy in World War II.
Mr. Lupo owned and operated Lupo's Shoe Repair and Boot Center in Pine Bluff for many years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and 25 for Now.
He married Sara Massanelli in Pine Bluff on July 1, 1942. Mrs. Lupo died September 20, 1992.
Survivors include his son, David A. Lupo, MD of Pine Bluff: two daughters, Debbie Smith and Jan Martin, both of Little Rock; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Dr. Lupo's home at 2902 Chamberwood. A vigil service will be held Friday at 5:30 PM in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jack Harris officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Schools, P. O. Box 7434, Pine Bluff, AR 71611.

Sybil Marie Kilcrease Hartless
September 18, 1929 - November 04, 2004

Sybil Marie Kilcrease Hartless, 75, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 18, 1929 in Natchez, Mississippi, daughter of the late Wylie Ellington and Lela Mae Laird Ellington. Mrs. Hartless was reared and received her early education in Bastrop, Louisiana.
Sybil Marie Ellington married Thurman Kilcrease June 12, 1947 in Bonita, Louisiana.
Mrs. Kilcrease served as a homemaker, raising four loving children and supporting her husband. After her children left home, she worked at the Himalayan Store and in the cafeteria at L. L. Owen School. Mr. Kilcrease passed away March 23, 1992.
Sybil Marie Kilcrease married Henry Hartless May 29, 1993 in Pine Bluff.
She was a member of Shannon Road Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hartless was preceded in death by her first husband, parents and sister, Louise Bilbrey.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Hartlesss of Pine Bluff; two sons, Thomas Alan Hart of Cabot, Arkansas and Thurman Michael Kilcrease of Poyen; two daughters, Wanda Pittman of Pine Bluff and Joyce McDougald of Fountain Hill, Arkansas; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 8, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Shannon Road Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Hartsfield officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4-6 PM at Robinson's.

Mazie Hubbard Miller Cotton
March 16, 1925 - November 03, 2004

Mazie Hubbard Miller Cotton, 79, of Huffman, Texas, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at Herman Memorial Hospital, in Houston, Texas. She was born in Perry County, Arkansas on March 16, 1925, a daughter of the late Lee Anderson and Minnie Ethel Story Hubbard.
She was reared and educated in Yell County, Arkansas.
Mrs. Cotton lived in Huffman for the past 20 years, where she worked as a custodian for the Huffman School District.
She was preceded in death by two husbands; Noel Miller and Edward Cotton and a brother, Millard Hubbard.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Dale Miller of Huffman, Jimmy Leroy Miller of Huffman; three daughters, Linda Ann Morse of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Janice Setnes of Amboy, Illinois, Brenda Kay Stephens of Huffman; three brothers, Murl Hubbard of White Hall, Arkansas, Irlon Hubbard of Beebe, Arkansas, Danny Hubbard of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; four sisters, Vena Taylor of Altheimer, Arkansas, Mary Ellen Gross of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Fay Dilbeck of Lonoke, Arkansas, Gladys Cotner of DeWitt, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 4 PM at Ralph Robinson & Son.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM, on Monday, November 8, 2004, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Billy Gross officiating.
Burial will follow in Flat Bayou Cemetery.

Marvin N. Dye
March 09, 1920 - November 09, 2004

Marvin N. Dye, 84, of Mt. Ida died Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mt. Ida. He was born March 9, 1920 in Monticello, to Julian U. and Lenora J. Phillips Dye. He was reared and received his early education in Monticello, and then served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked in the CCC program during the Great Drepression. He later worked for and retired from the U.S. Goverment.
He had lived in Pine Bluff for many years, and was a member of Forrest Park Assembly of God Church while living there. He was an avid outdoorsman and a dedicated family man.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Mt. Ida.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Miller Dye, (who he married, February 10, 1951 in Greenville, Mississippi) of Mt. Ida, two sons, Michael Dye of Niceville, Florida, Phillip Dwayne and Lynelle Dye of Ft. Worth, Texas; four daughters, Jane and Don Stokley of Mt. Ida, Colleen and Rick Tipton of Hurst, Texas, Joyce and Gary Mays of Van Buren, Carolyn Nan and Jim Lancaster of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Mt. Ida First Assembly of God Church, with Reverends Harold Thompson and Art Parker officiating. Visitation will be at the Church in Mt. Ida Tuesday afternoon beginning at 4:00 P.M.
Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery near Pine Bluff, by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff.

Marvin Taylor Beck
October 21, 1936 - November 08, 2004

Marvin Taylor Beck, age 68, of Pine Bluff, died at Jefferson Regional Medical Center Monday, November 8, 2004. Mr. Beck was born in Ben Lomond, Arkansas, a son of the late Rubern Lowery Beck and Alta Mize Beck.
Mr. Beck was reared and received his early education in Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1954. He then entered Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) at Magnolia and graduated in 1958, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
He was a member, Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the Accounting Committee, Trustee, Deacon and Choir member of Olive Street Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the United Commercial Travelers and the Gideons International and had been that organization's Area Director.
Mr. Beck was co-owner, along with his wife, of the Hunt Wholesale Meat Packing Company.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Bobby Beck.
Mr. Beck is survived by his wife, June LaNelle Hunt Beck, who he married in December of 1960; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Lowery and Teresa Beck of Jonesboro and one daughter, Clarice Beck, also of Jonesboro; three grandsons, Stephen, David and Chris Beck, all of Jonesboro; four brothers, Alton Beck of Sherwood, Raymond Beck of Wilton, Jason Beck of De Moines, Iowa and R. L. Beck of Sheridan; four sisters, Blanche Gregory of Malvern, Lila Johnson and Evelyn Welch, both of Sheridan, and Jo Ann Barham of Ozark.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 11, 2004, at 1:00 P M, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Pastor Roger Stewart officiating. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson's Wednesday from 5 to 8 P M.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Olive Street Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 1923 Olive Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601 or to Gideons International, Box 6452, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71611.
