Ray Peters
Ray J. Peters, 77, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at a local hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Ada, Ark., and was a retired self-employed homebuilder. He was a member and former commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8855 and member of Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Christie; five daughters, Delora Moore, Reta Pense, Teresa Sill and Marla Pense, all of Mountainburg, and Leona Martin of Alma; two brothers, Troy Peters of Alma and Paul Peters of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 22 at Alma Full Gospel Tabernacle. Burial was at Cain Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers were Ivan Pense, Dwight Pense, Gail Sill, Wendell Martin, Jerry Shelton and Dustin Graves. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons in law.

Carol Sue Jarboe
Carol Sue Jarboe, 64, of Greenwood died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Revis Hill Assembly of God.
She is survived by her husband, Don; two stepdaughters, Susan Cathey of Van Buren and Leigh Andrews of St. Joseph, Mo.; two stepsons, Stephen Kruskopp of Norman, Okla., and Karl Kruskopp of Van Buren; three sisters, Louise Adams of Alma, Lola Carter of Mesa, Ariz. and Nina Kiser of Central City; a brother, Harold Barker of Mulberry; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 20 at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Pope Cemetery in Mountainburg.
Pallbearers were Anthony, Bryant and Steven Kruskopp, Median Pena, Jacob and Jeremiah Cronin and Branson Cathey.

Floyd Franklin
Floyd A. Franklin, 92, of Natural Dam died Friday, March 21, 2003, at a local hospital. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Hester of Tulsa, Reba Koonce of Uniontown and Melinda Hendrix of St. Louis; six sons, Carl of Cedarville, Lloyd and Leroy, both of Cedarville, Steven of Natural Dam, Donald of Huntsville and Ronald of Tulsa; 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 25 at Independence Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was at Hall Cemetery near Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buen.
Pallbearers weree Danny Hester, Allen Franklin, Bill Franklin, Gary Koonce, Tim Franklin, Curtis Hendrix and Samual Franklin.
Honorary pallbearers were Dustin Franklin, Rockey Franklin, Terry Koonce, Rodney Franklin, Tode Franklin, Justin Hendrix, Brian Franklin and George Kakidas.

Aiden Brewer
Aiden William Brewer, infant son of Jennifer Kizziar of Huntington and Jonathan Brewer of Mansfield, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at a Little Rock hospital.
Graveside service were held March 21 at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by paternal grandparents, Dennis Brewer of Little Rock and Tina Rye of Mountainburg; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Sharanna Kizziar of Kibler and Gwen Kizziar of Huntington; paternal great-grandparents, Viola Brewer of Mansfield and Jerry Proctor of California; and maternal great-grandparents, David Overton and Helen Kizziar of Russellville and Geneva Crowley of Mulberry.

James Geheb Jr.
James A. Geheb Jr., 75, of Barling died Thursday March, 13, 2003, at his home. He was with plant operations for St. Edward Mercy Medical Center and was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling. He was the widower of Peggy Geheb and Fern Geheb and preceded in death by his parents, James and Bertha Geheb, and his sister, Betty Mae Geheb.
He is survived by two daughters, Naomi Strojek and her husband John of North Little Rock and Cathy Adams and her husband Matthew of Hackett; a son, Richard Geheb and his wife Melissa of North Little Rock; a stepdaughter, Frances Hollan and her husband Jack of Oklahoma; four sisters, Jackie Meenan and Jerry Schwartz, both of Fort Smith, Dorothy Parker of Hackett and Shirley Donnohue of Mulberry; two brothers, Ralph and Leo Geheb, both of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, Christy, R.W., Jessica and Shawn Adams, Heather and Doah Strojek and Haleigh and Abby Geheb; three stepgrandchildren, Andy, Johnny and Bartley Hollan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary was held March 16 at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass was March 17 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church with burial at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at Fort Chaffee.
Pallbearers were David, Chuck and Jimmy Burger, R.W. Adams, Robert Mayo and Doug Schwartz. Honorary pallbearers were Ken Perry, Jerome Geels and Glen Headley.

Marie Johnson
Marie Johnson, 53, of Nicut, Okla., died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in Fort Smith. She was a glass line operator at Gerber Products in Fort Smith for 25 years and a Baptist. She was born April 13, 1949, in Van Buren.
Survivors include her husband, Arlin; one daughter, Mary Jean Johnson-Deere of Nicut; one son, E.J. Johnson of Nicut; his mother, Leitha Hoover of Nicut; one sister, Janie Click of Nicut; three brothers, Danny, Tommy and Gary Hoover, all of Nicut; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 22 at Agent Chapel in Muldrow. Burial was at Long Cemetery north of Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home.

Russell Clyma
Russell Clyma, 83, of Van Buren died Monday, March 17, 2003, at a local nursing home. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a retired machinist at Dixie Cup after 28 years. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing and taught all his children to water ski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janie Clyma; sisters, Hazel Stosburg and Helen Nelson; two brothers, Grady and Ray Clyma and a granddaughter, Krystie Smith. Russell and his wife, Doris would have been married 59 years on June 18, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Clyma of the home; five daughters, Sharon Borengasser of Fort Smith, Janet Laster and Nancy Smith, both of Van Buren, Terry Allen of Muldrow and Sandy Irvin of Uniontown; two sons, John Clyma of Fort Smith and James Clyma of Van Buren; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several cousins and friends.
Funeral service was held March 19 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin Allen, Kirby Smith, Janson Testerman, Sam and Blayne Irvin, Shane Medford and Brian Borengasser.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Bateman, Glenn Nelson, Carl Bowen, Ralph McClure, Laban Dyer, Virgil Russell, Aaron Loyd, Dr. Larry Grace, Bill Farrar, Henry Williams, Harold Oliver and Ovner Estes.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Western Arkansas Chapter, 320 N. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

James Wesley
James E. Wesley, 62, of Cedarville died Friday, March 14, 203, at a local hospital. He was a machinist, an Air Force veteran and attended the First Assembly of God in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Wesley of the home; three daughters, Kathy Brothers and Krissy Wesley, both of Cedarville and Karen Burke of Van Buren and her husband, Patrick; two sons, Jim Wesley of Fort Smith and his wife, Teresia, and John Wesley of Cedarville and his wife, Brandi; five grandchildren, Joseph and Kimberly Wesley, both of Fort Smith, Krista and Joshua Jameson, both of Van Buren, and Jamie Wylie of Cedarville.
Funeral service was held March 19 at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Salem Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers were Greg Preston, Alan and Joe Hurston, Randy Williams, Vincent Overby and Chet Brothers.
Honorary pallbearers were Lee Henson, David Goodman, Grady Helton, Gerald Cross, Ronnie Dye and Tony Ruckman.

Jean Tounzen
Emma Jean Tounzen, 70, of Van Buren died Saturday, March 15, 2003, in Fort Smith. She attended Jubilee Christian Center.
Graveside service was held March 18 at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Paula Jean Moore of Van Buren; a sister, Louise Leamons of Fort Smith; a granddaughter, Kirsten Noel Moore of Van Buren; and a great granddaughter, Macey Noelle Cobley of Van Buren.

Tony Houston
Tony Houston, 58, of Van Buren died Sunday, March 16, 2003, in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; four daughters, Ann Houston and Kerry Franklin, both of Fort Smith, Tammy Hammer of Van Buren and April White of Grand Prairie, Texas; three sons, George Houston of Oklahoma City, Sam Houston of Fort Smith and Nat Hammer of Van Buren; his parents, Nova and Elva Houston of Waldron; four sisters, Nancy Hunt, Kathy Howard and Judy Piles, all of Waldron, and Sammie Simons of Houston; five brothers, Don Houston of Bowling Green, Ky., Scotty Houston of Salinas, Calif., and Jimmy, Terry and David Houston, all of Waldron; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 19 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers were Thomas Chick, Orville Dean Chick, Ray Jordan, Jim Moore, Kelly Franklin and Sean White.

Robert Boyd
Robert Columbus Boyd, 89, of Prairie Grove died Friday, March 15, 2003, at a Prairie Grove nursing home. He was born Dec. 18, 1913, in Cedarville. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Chester and the widower of Elaine Boyd.
He is survived by four daughters, Vivian Wieburg, Patsy Coyle and Carolyn Cooper, all of Prairie Grove, and Mary Lou Derby of Dexter, Maine; two sons, Roger Dwain Boyd of Prairie Grove and Robert Dale Boyd of Fayetteville; two sisters, Maggie Bartholomew of West Fork and Jean Melvin of Van Buren; 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral service was held March 18 at Chester Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Shamrock Cemetery in Cedarville under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.
Pallbearers were grandsons Steve and Craig Boyd, Alan Wieburg, Jerry Coyle, Lynn Cooper and Doug Kidd.

Lena Smith
Lena M. Smith, 92, of Ozark died Sunday, March 16, 2003, in Ozark. She was born Sept. 8 1910, in Dover. She was a homemaker, former member of Extension Homemakers Club and charter member of Baker’s Creek Baptist Church where she served in several positions. She was the widow of Wheatley Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Anna Womack and Freda Diffee, both of Ozark, and Beth Ones of Alma; two brothers, Jack Humphreys of El Sobrante, Calif., and Pat Humphreys of Russelllville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held March 19 at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville with burial at Old Baptist Cemetery near Russellville.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Baker’s Creek Baptist Church Missionary Fund, P.O. Box 1023, Russellville, AR 72811-1023.
