Mrs. Gladys Richards
Mrs. Gladys Bell Richards, 93, of Springdale died Sunday, June 11, 2000, in a nursing home.
A native of Old Huet, Indian Territory, Okla., she was a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Edna Rufus Guest Herrell and widow of C. A. Richards. She moved to the Springdale area in 1945 and was a self-employed beautician, Primitive Baptist, member of Steele Community Grange, Washington County Pomona Grange, Arkansas State Grange, National Grange, and Shiloh Swingers Square Dancers, recipient of sewing and needlework awards, a farmer, and was preceded in death by one son, Gaylord Carter; and one daughter, Frances Taldo.
She is survived by ten grandchildren, Donnie Taldo, Deloris Perry, Charles Taldo, Cathy Taldo Faulkenbury, David Carter, Steve Carter, Jerry Carter, Dennis Carter, Tammy Carter Miller, and Teresa Carter Kettner; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Rev. J. W. Walker officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky Peacy Jr., Bobby Peacy, Jeff Peacy, Shawn Taldo, Uriah Carter and Terry Carter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Coby Faulkenbury, David Gipson, Chuck Taldo, and Charlie Gipson.

James Oliver Berry
James Oliver Berry, 92, of Clarksville died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at his home.
He was a native of Newton County, son of the late Molee and Cora Faught Berry, Navy veteran of World War II, former postmaster at Fallsville, owned and operated a grocery store at Fallsville and Deer for several years, and was preceded in death by two wives, Delphia Harris Berry and Gracie Terry Berry; and one son, Doy Leo Berry.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Estes of Harrison and Peggy James of Clarksville; two sons, L. C. Berry and Vernie Berry, both of Clarksville; three sisters, Stella Freeman and Ortha Heater, both of California, and Effie Long of Harrison; three brothers, Corby Berry of Harrison, Omer Berry of California, and Harley Berry of Independence, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Rylee officiating. Burial was in Deer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Hutchins, Raymond Rodgers, Rod Given, Marvin Estes, J. R. Harkey, Johnny Schuh, and Bob Estes.
Johnny Doyle Stover
Johnny Doyle Stover, 55, of Altus died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Ozark.
A native of Denning, he was a son of the late John and Glenn Smith Stover, bus driver, Altus Fire Department chief, former member of the Altus City Council, and retired from the U. S. Army National Guard.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Josephine Wilson Stover; one daughter, Tammy Jane Nichols of Coal Hill; one son, William Henry Stover of Altus; six sisters, Martha Tillery, Virginia Dorney, and Frances Tollison, all of Hartman, Nancy Smith of Altus, Juanita Walker of Ozark, and Lorene McClain of Denning; three brothers, Leo Stover, Sam Stover, and Gary Stover, all of Denning; and three grandchildren, John Henry Stover, Samanatha Nichols and James Timothy Nichols.
Funeral was at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Rev. Kerry England officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery
at Altus.

Mrs. Lorene Lois Flint
Mrs. Lorene Lois Flint, 81, of Knoxville died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Clarksville.
She was a retired factory employee, member of Lamar Baptist Chruch, widow of Elmer Flint, daughter of the late O. D. and Josie Nix Davis, and was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Booze.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Moss of London; one son, Roy Booze of Bethany, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Betty White of Little Rock and Jane Tobalsky of Schofield, Wis.; two stepsons, Donald L. Flint of Fort Smith and Wendell Flint of Little Rock; one sister, Mrs. W. R. Mitchell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one brother, Ernest Davis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two grandchildren and also stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Mike Fowler officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leonard Hardgrave, Paul Ray Parker, Arvil Lee Parker, Steve Tillman, Al Youhanna, and Ray Loyd.
Mrs. Lillie H. Sanders
Mrs. Lillie H. Sanders, 76, of Hartman died at her home.
She was the widow of James (Jim) Sanders and pianist at Ferguson Memorial Presbyterian Church at Coal Hill and Liberty Hill Community Church at Hunt. She was also a lay speaker at both churches once a month.
Survivors include one daughter, Trudy Joseph of Houston, Texas; and two sons, John S. Sanders of Tampa, Fla., and David Sanders of Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the Ferguson Memorial Presbyterian Church at Coal Hill with Burley King and Ralph Gaede officiating.
The body was cremated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Thomas Paul Williams
Thomas Paul Williams, 75, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 8, 2000, in Fort Smith.
He was a son of the late Clarence Thomas and Retha Wright Williams, 47-year member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, retired Singer Company employee, former 17-year employee of Joe Mills Lumber Company, and was preceded in death by one grandson, Nicholas D. Williams.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Argie F. Williams; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Wayne Lingar and Paula and David Pitts, all of Clarksville, and Pat and Dane Lingar of Hartman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Jackie Williams of Clarksville and Ed and Jana Williams of Hartman; two sisters, Louise Daniels of Bartow, Fla., and Ruby Stanford of Humbolt, Fla.; three brothers, Robert Williams of Mountain Home, Jimmy Williams of Bixby, Mo., and Donald Williams of Pratt, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 12, at the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery

Ambrose R. Johnson Jr.
Ambrose R. Johnson Jr., 74, of Delaware died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
A native of Delaware, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose R. (Louella Parsons) Johnson Sr., retired commercial fisherman and bus driver for the Dardanelle Public Schools, and was preceded in death by one brother, Tony Johnson; and three sisters, Joline Jackson, Edith Keith, and Melba Goocher.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise Weaver Johnson; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Shelton of Scranton; one brother, Rev. Jim Johnson of Gary, Ind.; three sisters, Lila Barnett of Delaware, Eva Stone of Gary, Ind., and Mary Hux of Dallas, Texas; four grandsons, Larry Shelton of Charleston, Richard Shelton of New Blaine, and Robert Shelton and Michael Shelton of Scranton; and four great-grandchildren, Bryce Willems, William Shelton and Olivia Shelton of Charleston and Allison Shelton of Scranton.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June 16, at the Delaware First Baptist Church with Rev. Wiley Jones officiating.
Burial was at Graves Cemetery

Mrs. Margaret Ruth Fry
Mrs. Margaret Ruth White Fry, 62, of Clarksville died Monday, June 12, 2000, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
A daughter of the late John Thomas (J. T.) and Ruth Blackburn White, she was a 1956 graduate of Clarksville High School, 1960 graduate of the University of Arkansas, and held a master of education degree from the University of New Mexico. She was a retired teacher of the Sandia Base Elementary School in Albuquerque, N. M.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, choir member, and pianist for the Men's Bible Class, member and officer of the First United Methodist Women, past president of P.E.O., Beta Sigma Phi, and Kappa Kappa Iota, lifetime member of the Johnson County Historial Society and the Johnson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Fry; and one daughter, Barbara Ruth Fry of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 19, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lowell Eaton, Rev. Aaron Barling and Rev. Frank Clemmons officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery
under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
