Corey E. Delaney
Corey Edward Delaney, 17, of Ward died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006. He was a senior at Cabot High School and a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Carol and Ron Wilson of Ward; father Robert Delaney of Lakeland, Mich.; sister Brittany Wilson of Jacksonville; brothers C.J. Wilson and Trevor Wilson of Ward; grandparents Beverly Teske of Cabot, Judith Keller of Rapid River, Mich., John Delaney of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Harold and Ursula Wilson of Butlerville; and great-grandparents Bonnie Delaney of Dexter, Mich., and Alfred and Clara Wilson of Cabot.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Cabot. Interment followed at Evans Cemetery
in Cabot.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Faith Missionary Baptist Church Youth Fund.
Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot.
Ruby Staley
Ruby Staley, 82, of Ward died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ward.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Staley, parents Richard J. and Euyla McDonald Bayles, sisters Jean Spears, Rosa Burke, and Mary Weston, and brother Dick Bayles.
She is survived by daughters Sandra Reid and Pamelia Price; sons Robert L. Jr., Michael A., James Christopher, Brian Mark, and Tony L. Staley; brother Cecil Bayles; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 17, at Ward First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Fowler and the Rev. Gene Davis officiating.
Arrangements were by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
Clyde E. Harvey
Clyde Edward Harvey, 77, of Conway died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006. A Lonoke County native who attended Carlisle High School, he was a retired bridge construction carpenter and attended local Nazarene Churches and the Round Mountain Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jill.
He is survived by his brothers, Walter Harvey of Miami, Fla., and Allen Harvey Jr. of Newport, N.C.; sons Clinton Allen of Conway, and Clifford Nathaniel of Day, Calif.; four grandsons, three great-grandchildren, and friend and companion Wanda Cooper of Conway.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be at the Old Liberty Cemetery
between Conway and Vilonia.
Funeral arrangements were by Roller-McNutt of Conway.
Dorothy J. Dixon
Dorothy Jean Dixon, born June 24, 1921, in Searcy County, Arkansas to the late Dorsey Algern and Josie Luvine Drewry Whitlow, passed away Sept. 6, 2006, after a long illness. She moved to Lonoke County in 1929.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Dixon, and one son and is survived by three children and eight grandchildren.
A private memorial service was held at the gravesite. She is fondly remembered by her sister-in-laws and nephews.
Arrangements were held by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Lois M. Carter
Lois Murlene Stane Carter, 73, of Drasco died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006.
She was preceded in death by sons Ronny and Randy Carter, and her parents, brothers, and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, George E. Carter; sons Jimmy Carter of Lonoke, Terry Carter of North Little Rock, and Larry Carter of Florida; daughter Shirley Witonski of Drasco; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 14, at Hamilton Baptist Church with burial in Hamilton Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Robert L. Harrison
Robert Lee “Bob” Harrison, 61, of Hazen died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006.
He is survived by daughter Angie Gentry of Cabot; stepson Timmy Lloyd of Carlisle; brother Joe Harrison of Carlisle; sisters Betty Brown and Zona Locke of Lonoke; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 18, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Carlisle. Burial was in the Old Carlisle Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
Arrangements were by Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.
William H. Poe
William H. Poe of Cabot died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and belonged to the Bear House Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mable Flemister, Irene Altwegg, and Edna Stringfellow, and brother John Poe.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Poe of Cabot; daughters Rita Oliver and husband Stan, and Karen Cruz and husband Barry, all of Jacksonville, and Pam McAllister and husband Larry of Benton; son Bill Poe and wife Lesa of Cabot; sisters Mary Gibson of Little Rock, and Flora Whitlock of North Little Rock; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 19, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were by the North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Herbert Ellison Sr.
Herbert David Ellison Sr., 64 of Jacksonville died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006. He was a U.S. Army veteran who met his future wife while stationed in France, and was a loving and caring father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by a son, Herbert David Ellison Jr., parents Chester A. and Nancy R. Brambach Ellison Sr., granddaughters Sydney and Paige, and great-grandson Ethan.
He is survived include his wife of 43 years, Barbara Ellison of Jacksonville; children Robert Mark Ellison and wife Diane of Austin, Kim Denise Hardin of Cabot, Chad A. Ellison and wife Becky Jean of Austin, Kelly Doreen Kulback and husband Jess of Deering, N.H., Kristy Dorn Flynn and husband Michael of Benton, Betty Jane Houston and husband John Ashley of Austin, Timothy Andrew Ellison of Jacksonville, and Barbara Jean Winters and husband Glenn of Hillsbro, N.H., brothers Robert Ellison of Palm Coast, Fla., Peter Ellison and wife Janis of Wantaugh, N.Y., and Chester Ellison and wife Carla of New London, N.H.; sister Nancy Conlon of West Palm Beach, Fla., 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday, Sept. 11, at Grace Fellowship Church in Cabot.
Arrangements were by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
John Morton
John Richard Morton, 56, of Cabot died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at his home. He was born on March 13, 1950 to the late James A. and Inez Larker Morton in Memphis. John was a sheet metal worker for Union Pacific.
He is survived by his brother, Tommy and his wife Netta Morton of North Little Rock; one nephew, Alex Morton; one niece, Ashley Morton and half brother James and his wife Lucy Rae of Ludlow, Mass.
Services were held Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 at Edgewood Cemetery
in North Little Rock with Rev. Mary Huey officiating. Visitation was Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Cabot Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
Berry Kerr
Betty Jean Collier Kerr, 76, of Fort Worth died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006. She was a retired real estate broker.
Survivors include her brother George Wesley Collier of North Little Rock; children F.C. “Bud” Kerr and wife Glenda of Ferris, Gayle Giliberto and husband Joe of Fort Worth, Roger Dale Kerr and wife Patty of Poolville, and John Darrell Kerr and wife Carole of Crowley; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 23, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church in Cabot. Burial was at Mountain Springs Cemetery
in Cabot.
Arrangements were by the Thomas Funeral Home in Cabot.
