Mrs. Raltamae C. (Godwin) Price
Mrs. Raltamae C. Godwin Price, age 81, a resident of DeQueen, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 in the Christus St. Michael Healthcare System in Texarkana.
She was born November 23, 1923 in DeQueen. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, Leon F. Price, January 27, 1960 and a brother: Deward Godwin.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Leann and Bill Meeks of Texarkana, AR and Lynette and Charles Hall of DeQueen; two sons and daughters-in-law: J.D. and Kathy Price of Hallsville, TX and Mark Price and Linda Balch of DeQueen; one brother; Arlin Martin of Hermitt, CA; one aunt: Belle Thomas of DeQueen; one uncle: Walter Godwin of DeQueen; one granddaughter: Kim Meeks of Texarkana, AR; three grandsons and two granddaughters-in-law: Joe and Ginni McDonald of Greenwood, AR, Brian and Jamie Meeks and Daniel Meeks, both of Texarkana, AR; one great-granddaughter: Kristie McDonald of Greenwood, AR.
Funeral services for Mrs. Price were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2005 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Oscar Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Oddfellows section of the Lockesburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Oddfellow Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 311, Lockesburg, AR 71846.

Mr. James T. Regnier
Mr. James Tate Regnier, 78, a lifelong resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at his home.
He was born on March 22, 1926. He was a retired manager from Southern LP Gas. He was a veteran of WWII and served his community in many capacities including city council, mayor, and the school board. He was a member of Horatio United Methodist Church. He will always be remembered for his love of crappie fishing, quail hunting, gardening with Bernice, and for the ever-present cup of coffee in his hand.
Survivors include his wife of almost 61 years, Bernice Bayless Regnier; a brother: Ireland Regnier and wife, Linda, of Clemson, South Carolina; a son: James C. and wife Madge of Waldron, Arkansas; a daughter: Elaine and husband Daryl Gibson of cypress, Texas; two grandsons: Dylan Lewis of Austin, Texas and Lucas Regnier and Wife Anna of New Orleans, Louisiana; two granddaughters: Elizabeth and husband Darren Senior of The Woodlands, Texas and Courtney and husband Roy Mettlen of Lufkin, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Regnier were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Horatio United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Horatio United Methodist church.

Nell Johnson
Rolona Nell Johnson, age 30, resident of Lockesburg, AR, died Monday, January 31, 2005 at the home of her aunt and uncle.
Nell was born to Travis Lavern and Verna Ruth Newton at Lockney, TX on September 7, 1974. She was a 1993 graduate of Waco High School, and was a nurses aide. Nell was a member of the Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ of DeQueen, and enjoyed singing, cooking, traveling, and working with children.
Nell was preceded in death by her father, and her grandmother, Etta Johnson, and her grandfather, Billy Joe Newton.
She is survived by her mother: Verna Ruth McElroy of Waco, TX; two brothers; Henry Jackson and Corey Jackson both of Waco, TX; her sister; Alesha McElroy of Austin, TX; her grandparents: Thelma and Jesse Bouston of Lockesburg, AR; and Buddy Johnson of Lubbock, TX; her Great-grandmother, Zeola Geiger of Wilton, AR; one niece: Cheyenne Jackson and one nephew: Kelon Johnson both of Waco, TX.
Funeral services for Nell Johnson were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005, in the New Zion Baptist Church of Oak Grove, Lockesburg with Elder E. A. Edward, and Pastor Rodney Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in the McElroy Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of DeQueen.

Mrs. Anna Lou Spigner

Mrs. Anna Lou Walker Spigner, age 93, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, July 30, 2007 in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born January 20, 1914 in Ben Lomond to Robert G. and Jenny Polk Walker. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Spigner was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rhoton William Spigner on August 29, 1982, and one son, James Robert Spigner.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Jerry Petet of De Queen; three grandsons, Stan, Steve and Scott Petet, and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Spigner will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2007 in the Redmen Cemetery with Rev. Grant Groves officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in De Queen, 315 N. 5th Street, De Queen, AR 71832.

Mrs. Marion Eloise Diggs

Mrs. Marion Eloise Teague Diggs, age 78, a resident of Lockesburg, AR, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 in Dierks.

She was born January 4, 1929 in the Milford Community to John and Mattie Muldrow Teague. She was a homemaker, a member of the Provo Volunteer Fire Dept., the Ladies Auxiliary, the Quilting Club, and was a member of the Provo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Diggs in 1977; a daughter, Cheryl Annette Diggs; and a number of brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Randy Diggs of Dierks, AR, and Kenneth Diggs of Lockesburg; two daughters, Diane Icenhower and Melissa Lacefield, both of De Queen; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Diggs will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in the Belleville Methodist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. John Henry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Belleville Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reba Jenkins

Mrs. Reba Jenkins, age 66, a lifelong resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at her home, after a long illness.
She was born December 11, 1940 in Wickes, Arkansas to Violet and Thomas Sullivan. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, and a member of the Wickes Nazarene Church.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, of over 43 years, James Lacey Jenkins of Wickes, Ark.; four sons and daughters-in-law, James and Vicki Jenkins of Wickes, Neal and Patricia Jenkins of Wickes, Thomas and B. J. Jenkins of Wickes, and Jason Jenkins of Jacksonville, Ark.; eight grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Thomas and Linda Sullivan of Jefferson City, MO, James Sullivan of Wickes, Ark., David and Peggy Sullivan of Gore, OK; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Bobby Miller of Mena, Ark.; Bonnie and Earnest McDowell of Texarkana, Ark.; Neta and Bob Meyer of Jefferson City, MO; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Reba will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was such a very special lady. Family and friends will remember her for love and laughter shared with everyone. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.

Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2007, at Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, AR from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at the Wickes Church of the Nazarene with Bro. David Baker and Bro. Tom Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Crystal Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mr. Archie Boone

Mr. Archie Boone, age 80, a resident of Idabel, OK, died Monday, July 23, 2007 in Idabel.

He was born September 9, 1926 in Eagletown, OK to Marshall and Sudie Roth Boone. He was a self-employed carpenter, and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mamie Ross, Willie Ohlerking and Leona Couch; and a brother, Walter (Buddy) Boone.

He is survived by two sons, Kenny and Kerry Boone; a daughter, Lavan Boone, all of Texas; a brother, Olen Boone of Fairfield, IL; a nephew, Rickey Boone, and a niece, Mamie Boone, both of Broken Bow, OK; a very special friend and sister-in-law, Delois Wilson; great nephews, Douglas Carvan of Broken Bow and Chris Goodman and his wife Rebecca of Tulsa, OK; a great niece, Brittany Stockton of Broken Bow; great-great nieces and nephew, Abigail, Noah and Madelyn Goodman of Tulsa.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Boone will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007 in the Eagletown Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Townsend officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mr. Orville H. Keeney

Orville H. Keeney, 68, of Union Valley, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at Dubuis Hospital in Texarkana, Tx. He was born March 22, 1939, the son of Clint and Elsie (Chandler) Keeney.

Orville and Alice were united in marriage in Broken Bow on April 25, 1964. He was a poultry farmer and a cattle rancher. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Alice Keeney, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Angie Keeney, Eagletown; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Greg Smith, Eagletown; one sister, Doris Adcock, Redwater, TX; one special niece, Shona Belcher; one special nephew, Steven Keeney; four grandchildren, Brad Smith, Brooke Smith, Cody Keeney, and Courtney Keeney; and many friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, with Bro. Amiel Austin and Bro. Clint Bray officiating. Interment will follow at Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK.

Kyler Wade Samuels

Kyler Wade Samuels, infant son of Jimmy, Jr. and Angela Hankins Samuels, residents of De Queen, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 in the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born in Texarkana, Texas, on July 19, 2007.

Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother, Brayden Samuels, one sister, Annalise Samuels both of De Queen, his paternal grandparents, Rebecca and Jimmy Samuels, Sr. of De Queen, his maternal grandparents, Brad and Barbara Stewart of Horatio, five uncles, and a number of cousins.

Graveside funeral services for Kyler Samuels will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Lockesburg, Arkansas with Rev. Mike Moody officiating under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. S. T. Phillips

Mr. S.T. Phillips, age 94, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in the De Queen Medical Center.

He was born August 29, 1912 in De Queen to Sam T. and Pearl Selmon Phillips. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser and was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife, Nona Mae McRae Phillips on March 30, 1996 and five brothers.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Marlyn Phillips of De Queen and Sammy and Pauline Phillips of Arlington, Texas; one brother, Hubert Phillips of De Queen; one sister, Mamie Hobbs of Grand Junction, Colorado; four grandchildren, five great-grandsons and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Phillips will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2007 in the De Queen Church of Christ with Van Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home of Ken and Marlyn Phillips. 575 Chapel Hill Road in De Queen.

Mr. Wellayne Lowery

Mr. Wellayne M. Lowery, age 75, resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, and former resident of New Orleans, La. died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at his home.

He was born to Richard and Cleopatra McDonald Lowery at Horatio, Arkansas, on February 3, 1932. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church of Horatio, Arkansas. He was retired from N.L. Baroid in Venice, La. and enjoyed gospel and blues music, making people laugh, and telling life stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Lorraine Lowery.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lula Cubit Lowery of Eagletown, Okla; one son, Eric Lowery of Atlanta, Georgia, one daughter Linda Lowery of Millington, Tenn.; five brothers, Donald Dean Lowery of Phoenix, Arizona, Ulacees Lowery of Texarkana, Arkansas, Leonard Lowery of Killeen, Texas, Richard Lee Lowery of Horatio, Ark; and Orville Lowery of New Orleans, La; two sister, Carla Holt of Wichita, Kansas, and Bonnie Jean Cox of Texarkana, Ark; one grandchild, Avingnon Lowery, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Wellayne Lowery will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21st in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Sun Set Acres in Horatio, Ark., under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 20th.

Mr. Thomas Kerry Hockersmith

Thomas Kerry Hockersmith, age 47, resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Monday, July 16, 2007 in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.

He was born to W. C. and Mary Cox Hockersmith at Garberville, California, on May 11, 1960. He was a former security officer for Christus St. Michael, and former employee of the Sevier County Farmer’s Cooperative. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of De Queen, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on antique cars.

He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Carolin Tapia Hockersmith of Gillham, one son, Justin Wade Jones of Lockesburg, one daughter, Jessica Brianna Hockersmith of De Queen, his mother, Mary Hockersmith of Gillham, one brother, William E. Hockersmith of Gillham, a sister, Tammy Byers of Greenbrier, Arkansas, a foster brother, Jessie Vaughn of De Queen, and a step-sister, Sharon Belcher of Checotah, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Justin, Jr., Harley, Afton, and Jonathan, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2007 in the Valley Cemetery with Bro. Ray Reynolds officiating

Mr. Kenneth Ray Bizzell

Kenneth Ray Bizzell, age 34, a resident of Umpire, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at his home.

He was born December 28, 1972 in Texarkana, Texas to Raymond Dale and Gemmie Bizzell. He was the owner of Network Service, and was the pastor of the Mountain View Baptist Church in Umpire.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, R.W. and Alice Bizzell; maternal grandfather, Boyd T. Dickson.

He is survived by his wife, DeAnne Robbins Bizzell; his children, Melodie, Rebecca and Wilson Bizzell; his parents, Dale and Nadine Bizzell of Lockesburg, and Gem and James Dellinger of Texarkana, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Jimmie Dickson; one sister, JoAnn Bizzell of Umpire; one brother and sister-in-law, Rod and Kim Bizzell of Gillham; four step-sisters, one step-brother and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Bill Driggers officiating. Burial will follow in the Belleville Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10th at the funeral home in De Queen.
