Kathleen Lorain Carr, 59, passed away on November 15th, 2003 at her residence in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born on August 3rd, 1944 in Goodrich, Michigan.

Kathleen moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; 2 years ago from Michigan. She worked as a general manager for Holly Ridge Farms, a horse breeding farm in Holly, MI; for 15 years

She is survived by her loving husband Richard Carr of Lake Havasu City, Az; sons Richard Carr III of San Diego, Ca; Kevin Carr of White Cloud, MI; daughter Beverly Rockafellow of Hesperia, MI; mother Marion MacCombs Scottville, MI; brother Patrick MacCombs of Swartz Creek, MI; sisters Kelley Engle and Maureen MacCombs both of Ludington, MI;and Bonnie Tate of Tennessee and 5 grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Valta Veronica Jenkins Mumford, 95, passed away on October 3lst, 2003 at Deb’s Elder Care in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born in a sod house on June 16th, 1908 in Graham Township, Kansas.

Valta moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; 2 years from Globe, Az. She was a homemaker and also a sales clerk. Valta was a member of the Havasu Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, past president – Globe, Az; Emblem Club of Elks Lodge and life member of the PTA.

She is survived by her husband Edwin Fred Mumford of Lake Havasu City, Az; daughter Sally Smith and husband Ronald of Lake Havasu City, Az; son James Reeve and wife Alice of San Diego, Ca; daughter Sondra Schwartman and husband Wayne of Lincoln, NE; daughter Sharon Slater of Mesa, Az; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in by her parents Scott Jenkins and Armenia (Hall) Jenkins, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 granson.

A graveside service will be held at East Lawn Palm Cemetery in Tucson, Az; on Sunday, November 16th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Hospice Chaplain Rev. Roger Pierce will be officiating.

Family request donations may be made to medical research of your choice.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Martha Rae Hildebrand, 77, passed away at her home on November 10, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She was born on June 25, 1926 in Rockwell City, Iowa to Oscar Raymond and Faye Shannon.

She was a “war bride”, marrying her husband, William in 1943 at the age of 16. After the war, she worked to help support her husband through medical school in Des Moines, Iowa. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1955 where her husband completed his Internship. Martha worked with her husband in their medical practice for over 30 years, beginning in Parker, AZ in 1958. They later moved to Needles, California, then to Susanville, California, where they retired in 1989. They returned to the desert in 1990, moving to Lake Havasu City.

Martha loved her home, and had a natural gift for decorating. Her family says she was always a trend setter, and loved wearing the latest in clothing fashion. She enjoyed antique shopping, yard sales and working in her garden

She is survived by four children; sons, Bill of Lake Havasu, Bob of Janesville, CA; daughters, Marsha Gardner of Lake Havasu City and Marla Gomez of Janesville, CA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in by her loving husband, William Rex Hildebrand in July of 2001.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home of Lake Havasu City on November 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.

The family request donations be made in her name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Sandra Sue Davis, 57, passed away on November 8th, 2003 at her residence in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born on February 14th, 1946 in Ottumwa, Ia.

Sandra moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; 1 year ago from Alta Loma, Ca. She worked as a massage therapist for Desert Rose Salon in Upland, Ca; for 6 years. She was a member of The Deeper Life Church of Whittier, Ca. Sandra enjoyed boating and fishing. Aside from being a message therapist, Sandy was an accomplished make-up artist and had a tremendous sense of fashion. She enjoyed her trips to the salon for her pedicures and manicures, but treasured her many retreats with her church.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 6 years Donald “Bud” Davis of Lake Havasu City, Az; son Sean David Sharpnack and wife Vanessa of La Habra, Ca; daughters Julia D. Farthing and husband Keith of Prospect, Ct; Amber Jonnassen and husband Scott of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca; mother Daisy Smith of Alpine, Ca; sisters Gretchen Sitz of Indianapolis, Iowa, Betty Thomas of Alpine, Ca; Carolyn Smith of Lake Elsinore, Ca; grandchildren Erica and Ashley Farthing, Heather and Ryan Jonnassen, Tyler and Rebecca Sharpnack and Bradley Farthing. Sandy was preceded in by her father Sylvester James Smith, daughter Cynthia A Larve and sister Mary Williams.

A memorial service will be held at The Deeper Life Church, Whittier, Ca; on Saturday, November 15th, 2003 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Julie Haley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in her name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, Az. 86405

Gregory Kent Scott, 55, passed away November 6, 2003 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to Richard & Bernice (Holt) Scott on February 28, 1948 in Redlands, CA.

Greg made Lake Havasu his home 16 years ago, moving here from Santa Ana, CA where he retired as manager from Pacific Bell after 22 years of service.

Mr. Scott was a proud veteran in the US Army, a member of the Marine Corp League, and a volunteer as a Reserve Police for the Santa Ana Police Department. He also worked on the Board of Adjustments, the Special Olympics, the Lake Havasu Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition and was Chairman of the Shoreline Initiative.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Diana; sons, Christopher Sprague-Scott of Orange, CA and Joshua Sprague-Scott and his wife Christine of Lake Havasu; daughter, Heather Scott of Lake Havasu; mother, Bernice Scott of Golden Shores, AZ; brother Mark Scott and his wife Terry of Golden Shores, AZ; sisters, Valerie Lesiczka and her husband John of Long Beach, CA, Rhonda Barnes and her husband Bob of Tucson, AZ and Marsha Cotner and her husband, Mike of Tucson, AZ; and one grandchild, Alyssa Sprague.

He is preceded in by his father, Richard Scott.

A memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 4:30 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Garrison officiating.

Jan Bernard Smith, 67, passed away on November 7th, 2003 at his residence in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on April 16th, 1936 in Wendell, Idaho.

Jan moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona 3 years ago from Ukiah, Ca. He worked as a tour bus driver for Western Charter in Petaluma, Ca; for 3 years. Jan served proudly in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid fisherman, loved boating, R.Ving and snow skiing. Jan loved his neighbors and would do anything for them. He loved his family and especially his dog Rambo.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Fran Smith of Lake Havasu City, Az; daughter Christine Fryman of Lake Havasu City, Az; mother Emily Mull of Wendell, Id; brothers Everett Smith of Corvallis, Or; Chet Smith of Woodside, Ca; Eddie Smith of Gold Hill, Or; Bruce Smith of Modesto, Ca; sisters Cheri Folk of Warrenton, Or; Charlene Smith of Wendell, Id; Dorothy Treharne of Seaside, Or; and grandsons Steven and Jason Fryman.

A memorial services was held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Saturday, November 15th, 2003 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Carol Sheffield officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.

Blanche Evelyn Christy, 96, passed away Tuesday, October 28th, 2003 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Lake Havasu City, Az. She was born March 21st, 1907 on a farm in Seymour, Iowa, to Robert and Bessie McClurg. Blanche was the third of four daughters. She earned a teaching certificate at Drake University and taught eight grades in a one room school house in Woodward, Iowa in 1928. She met Earl M. Christy at a Christian Endeavor meeting and the two were married November 18th, 1928 in Sioux City, Iowa. Blanche and Earl moved west in 1941, eventually settling in Oregon where they lived for many years. Blanche also worked as a clerk for the Oregon State Hospital until she retired in 1972. She moved to Lake Havasu City, Az; to be closer to her family in 2000.

Blanche was know to love her garden and was especially fond of flowers. She was an avid Bridge player and devoted friend who had many life long friendships. Her family says that she was an inspiration to all who met her and a devoted mother. In her life Blanche was able to travel to her ancestral home of Scotland, to Europe three times, Hawaii and throughout the States. She possessed an uncommon character molded by faith and love of family and friends, faithfully supporting The Court Street Christian Church throughout her life. Her faith and years of hard work formed the basis of a life lived in service to others and she considered the love and respect of her family, life’s most precious reward. She was dearly loved and is greatly missed.

Blanche is survived by son Robert Christy and wife Janet of Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca; daughter Ann Willard and husband Terry of Lake Havasu City Az; four grandchildren, Diane Bohnsack, Linda Mohabeer, Charles and Miles Willard and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in by her husband Earl M. Christy, parents and sisters, Helen, Ina and Katheryn.

Memorial services were at Havasu Bible Fellowship, 1787 McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City, Az; Saturday, November 1st, 2003.
