Laura Belle Miller
Private services will be held for Laura Belle Miller, 76, of Vacaville at Solano Valley Mortuary. Burial also will be private.
Mrs. Miller died on Feb. 22, 2000, at Winsor House in Vacaville.
Born on April 4, 1923, in New Jersey, she moved to Vacaville very recently. She was a bookkeeper for Tosco Corp..
Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Lee of Vacaville and Diane Williams of Florida.
Tom Peter Petrus
A private committal service will be held for Tom Peter Petrus, 78, of Fairfield. Inurnment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.
Born March 25, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Petrus died Feb. 22, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.
He served in the United States Air Force for 29 years. He retired with a rank of lieutenant colonel and was a command pilot. He logged more than 6,000 hours, including about 1,000 in jet fighter aircraft.
He graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in business.
He flew combat missions during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. During World War II he was shot down and earned 21 decorations and awards, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Following retirement from the Air force he was employed by various industries in Honolulu.
He was a golfer, and he liked to travel.
Mr. Petrus is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Steve Brown of Medford, Ore., and Christine and Peter Conte of Suisun; son, Michael and Ree Petrus of Cinncinati; brother, Robert of Akron; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church or a charity of one's choice.

Margaret 'Marguerite' L. Thielsen
At her request, no formal services will be held for Margaret 'Marguerite' L. Thielsen, 75, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.
Mrs. Thielsen died on Feb. 19, 2000, in Vallejo after a long illness.
Born on June 26, 1924, in Paderborn, Germany, she moved to the area nine years ago. She worked in the restaurant supply and hotel industry as an office manager for several years. She was very active in numerous community organizations.
She loved exercising and teaching exercise classes, playing cards and being the best friend she could be to everyone. She was on the Welcoming Committee at North Bay Rancho Solano Retirement Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all.
Mrs. Thielsen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Geoffrey and Sherry Stern of San Carlos, Edward and Lori Stern of Poulsbo, Wash., and Richard and Toni Stern of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Jim Vincent of Vacaville; and brother, Rudolph Muller of Sacramento. She also had 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled by McCune Garden Chapel.
Olav M. Thompson
Private services with full military honors will be held for Olav M. Thompson, 73, of Fairfield. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.
Mr. Thompson died on Feb. 20, 2000, at David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base after a long illness.
Born on Sept. 10, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Fairfield for the past 43 years. His family is of Norwegian decent, and he was raised in Karmoy, Norway. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, retiring in 1969 as a technical sergeant. While in the Air Force, he worked as a finance officer.
He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from California State University, Sacramento. He also worked as a translator of Norwegian poetry and contributed to the first published English works of Halldis Moren Vesaas. He was a member of the Parkinson's Foundation at Travis Air Force Base and in Norway.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Joanna of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Liv and Woody Pierson of Fairfield, Janny and Roger Vaughn of Fairfield and Heidi and Henning Gundersen of Fairfield; daughter, Pearl Olsen of Fairfield; and sister, Hildrid Bardsen of Karmoy. He also had four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson's Institute, 1170 Morse Ave., Sunnyvale, 94089-1605.

Joseph Berdollt
Private burial services for Joseph Berdollt, 65, of Winters will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery
at a later date.
Mr. Berdollt died on Feb. 20, 2000, after a brief illness.
Born on Oct. 18, 1934, in Brentwood, Mo., he retired from Santa Fe Railroad in Richmond, where he worked as a switchman. He was a member of Word of Life Christian Center in Davis and was a licensed minister in the Good Shepherd International Fellowship. He had been active in teaching Bible study classes in various rest homes in Davis and Woodland and also was active in serving in the Meals on Wheels program in Winters. He was a veteran of Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Berdollt is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary A. Belcher; brothers, Lloyd of Pittsburg and Ken of Sacramento; sisters, Gloria Levon of Morgan Hill and Rosemary Tiger of Cottonwood; and nephew, Bob Alverson of Winters. He also had numerous other nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Joseph Jr. in 1920 and sisters, Emma Marie Scroggins in 1998, Estelle Marie Poll in 1975, Geraldine Roark in 1964, Vernice Wiedner in 1996 and Dorothy Ann Geavoniei in 1985.

Theauthor Chubb Jr
A memorial service for Theauthor Chubb Jr. of Suisun City will be 11 a.m. today at First Penecostal Church in Fairfield.
Mr. Chubb died peacefully at his home on Feb. 22, 2000, after a long illness.
A native of Knoxville and Watauga, Tenn., he graduated from Douglas High School in Elizabethon, Tenn. He joined the military in 1962 and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in 1966. He lived in the Vacaville and Fairfield-Suisun areas for the last 22 years.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, during which time he also worked at the dining hall. He retired from the Air Force in 1987 and worked at the Unocal Refinery, which later became Tosco, for the past 11 years. He was a devoted member of the First Penecostal Church in Fairfield.
Mr. Chubb is survived by his wife, Faye M. of Suisun City; daughter, Marsha Porter of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, LaTasha and Victor Henderson of Suisun; daughter-in-law, Vivian Chubb Corning of Napa; sons, Theauthor and Ron, both of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Carolyn of Johnson City, Tenn.; nephew, Ralph Jr. of Johnson City; niece, Donna of Johnson City; aunt, Havillah Jenkins of Knoxville; and grandchildren, Marissa Porter of Fairfield, Tyler Chubb of Napa and Victor Henderson III of Suisun.
Mary Petra Lopez
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Petra Lopez, 88, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
The Rev. Benedict DeLeon will officiate. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McCune Garden Chapel, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Lopez died on Feb. 23, 2000, in Vacaville after a short illness.
Born on April 29, 1911, in Mexico, she lived in Vacaville for the past 65 years. She worked on the production line for Basic Vegetable for 22 years before working for the senior citizen Meals on Wheels Program. She also volunteered at area convalescent homes for 12 years until she retired at age 83. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Legion of Mary for many years. She loved to sew and crochet.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by her daughters, Lupe Reyes of Sacramento and Luisa Sykes of Oregon; sons, Gilbert of Elk Grove, Sam of Vacaville and Santos Jr. of Sonora; sisters, Della Ortega and Helen Badial, both of Vacaville; and brother, Arthur Veliz of Marysville. She also had 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Santos.

Tomiyo S. Palmer

Born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Japan, she lived in Fairfield for the past 15 years. She was a member of the Retired Officers Association.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by her husband, retired Lt. Col. Earl of Fairfield; son, Gerard A. of Reston, Va.; daughters, Dr. Sharon M. of Amherst, Mass., Linda M. Eclavea of San Jose and Susan K. of San Francisco; brother, Fumio Kurusu of Japan; sister, Kashiku Kurusu of Japan; and cousin, Michiko Mogi of Japan. She also had five grandchildren.

Linda K. Trovinger-Rojas

Ms. Trovinger-Rojas died on Feb. 25, 2000, in Sacramento after a short illness.
Born on Jan. 22, 1959, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she lived in Fairfield for the past 24 years. She graduated from Armijo High School in 1978. She was a loving mother who enjoyed horseback riding and arts and crafts.
Ms. Trovinger-Rojas is survived by her husband, Edwin Rojas of Napa; daughter, Fabianna Rojas of Napa; sons, Tommy McPike and David Lee McPike, both of Vacaville; mother, Madeline Thacker of Bunkerhill, W.Va.; father, William Trovinger of Fairfield; sister, Terri Lyn Wigfield of Hagerstown, Md.; brother, Dean Trovinger of Boonesboro, Md.; and special friend Vic Palestini of Fairfield.

Elsie Rose Turri
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elsie Rose Turri, 99, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.
The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m.
Mrs. Turri died on Feb. 23, 2000, at SunBridge Care Center in Fairfield after a short illness.
Born on April 19, 1900, in San Luis Obispo, she lived in Fairfield all her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for a small business in Suisun City before working for Lloyds Bank in Fairfield, where she retired in 1963. After retirement, Lloyds Bank made her its goodwill ambassador.
In 1950, she was appointed treasurer for the city of Fairfield by the mayor. She was elected treasurer in 1952, a post she held until her retirement in 1991. Mayor Gary Falati declared April 26, 1990, as Elsie Rose Turri Day in Fairfield.
She was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was very involved in the Young Ladies Institute. She traveled throughout the world and had a special fondness for San Francisco and Reno.
Mrs. Turri is survived by her sister, Josephine Riley of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold; and sister, Stella Cantrell.
Catherine Ellen Albright
No services will be held for Catherine Ellen Albright, 91, of El Sobrante. Inurnment will be private.
Born April 14, 1908, in San Francisco, Mrs. Albright died Feb. 19, 2000, in Martinez.
She was a resident of El Sobrante for 62 years and worked as a stenographer at the University of California, Berkeley, for 25 years. She was a member of the Italian American Club in Richmond and the Fuchsia Society of California in Berkeley. She loved to travel and was an award-winning bonsai grower.
Mrs. Albright is survived by her daughter, Kathryne Thompson of Martinez; son, Gerald 'Jake' Albright of Vacaville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 1946; and son, Lloyd Jr., in 1996.
Dianna Lynne Mullen Carlisle
A funeral for Dianna Lynne Mullen Carlisle, 48, of San Diego, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in Modesto. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.
Born June 7, 1951, Mrs. Carlisle died Feb. 21, 2000, at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center.
She was a native of Modesto and lived there for 23 years before moving to the Bay Area and then San Diego five years ago. She worked as a logistics specialist for 12 years at ICS Advent.
Mrs. Carlisle is survived by her husband, Richard of San Diego; son, Shawn Mullen of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Steven Hennison of Fairfield; mother, Joyce Miller of San Diego and father, Jimmie C. Lowe of Waterford; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie A. and Patti Lowe of Oakdale; grandmother and grandfather, Jessica and Christopher Hennison of Fairfield; and two grandchildren.
