Kay Lenhart

Homemaker

Kay Lenhart, 59, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at Memorial Medical in Modesto. The former Kay Asbury was born March 17, 1945 in Virginia. She was a resident of Ripon for 35 years.

Mrs. Lenhart is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jack F. Lenhart; her mother, Violet McTavish of La Grange; children, Renett and David Mills of LA, Dorinda and Ken McIntyre of Patterson, Jennifer Dobbs of Nevada, Rudy and Sara Lenhart of French Camp, Lisa and Ed Yeager of Eureka, Terry and Tom Kirby of Georgia, Dawn Jones of Arizona, and Jack and Heather Lenhart of Manteca; siblings, Margie and Bob Salvatory of Penn., George Sylvester of La Grange, John and Pat Sylvester of Arkansas, Patricia and John Montoya of Colorado, Kenneth and Sharron Asbury of Georgia; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kay was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, crafts and spending time with her family.

Deegan Ripon Memorial is in charge of funeral arrangements. Funeral Service will be Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Grace Brethren Church in Ripon. Interment will be private.

Ruth F. Trinkle

Teacher

Ruth F. Trinkle, 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 in Santa Cruz. The former Ruth F. Mathews was born Nov. 28, 1913 in Stockton. She was a resident of Tracy for 19 years.

Mrs. Trinkle is survived by her children, Jack D. Williamson of Tacoma, Wash., Sgt. Inok Trinkle, who is in the U.S. Air Force; grandchildren, John Williamson, Marybeth Cook, Anne Corry, and Tony Antones of Tacoma, Wash., John Trinkle of Manteca, David Williamson of Georgetown, Debra Williamson of Austin, Texas, Mark Trinkle, Mark Jr., Jessica, Jason, Benjamin, Kelley, Ricky, Jim, and Chris. She was preceded in death by her siblings, the late Bruce P. Mathews, Stanley D. Mathews, and Mildred Broome; and preceded in death by her son, the late Robert C. Williamson.

Ruth F. Trinkle went home to be with the Lord she had loved and known since a child on Dec. 29, 2004. A graduate of San Jose State and San Francisco State she taught public school in the Manteca and Tracy rural areas for over twenty-five years. She raised two sons, Bob, recently deceased, and Jack of Tacoma, WA. As a widow she tutored two boys as a teacher in the New Jerusalem area and met their father who became the love of her life. John and Marc Trinkle became her adopted sons, she was also very fond of Carl's oldest sons, Carl Jr. and Eric, now deceased. With her sons grown she and Carl went to Korea and brought home the daughter she always wanted, Inok Lee Trinkle who now serves honorably in the U.S. Air Force. From this large family she had seven grandchildren. She actively prayed for them all. With Carl she was also very active in Tracy community affairs including Republican activities, Tracy Elks Lodge, and numerous school support activities. She is now at home in heaven enjoying her loving family with their rich heritage they all share as generations who loved and followed Christ.

Fry Memorial Chapel, (550 S. Central Ave., Tracy) is in charge of funeral arrangements. Chapel Service will be Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private.

In loving memory of Ruth, please send donations to Foundation of Grace, P.O. Box 6943, Tacoma, WA 98406. This was Ruth's favorite charity.

Rudy Velasquez

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Acacia Memorial Park for Rudy Velasquez, 34, of Modesto. He died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Born July 30, 1970, Mr. Velasquez was a native and lifelong resident of Modesto. He worked in construction and enjoyed baseball and the San Francisco 49ers.

Mr. Velasquez leaves behind his daughter, Jeanette Velasquez of Modesto; his mother, Francisca Valles of Modesto; and six sisters, Sonia Valenzuela of Phoenix, Sylvia Ramos of Ceres, Irma Oliva of Hickman, Graciela Mercado of Modesto, Arcenia Valles of Hughson and Sindia Leyua of Empire.

George L. Sandoval

Retired

George L. Sandoval, 65, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at Dameron Hospital in Stockton. He was born Feb. 25, 1939 in Gridley, Cal. He was a resident of Lathrop for 20 years, previously of Manteca. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Margaret Sandoval, who passed away in December 2003.

Mr. Sandoval is survived by his daughter, Lisa Mendez of Manteca; his brother, Lloyd Spooner of Sacramento; granddaughter, Jenna Mendez of Manteca.

George was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1962 to 1967. He was retired after 40 years from Sharpe Army Depot. The light of George's life was his daughter Lisa and his granddaughter Jenna, his love for them was unconditional. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his contagious smile; he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a graveside service on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at San Joaquin Valley National cemetery in Gustine, Cal.

George L. Sandoval

Retired

Willa Lee Byrd

Care Giver

Willa Lee Byrd, 72, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at her home in Manteca. She was born Nov. 24, 1932 in Missouri. She was an In Home Care Giver in the field of health care for 10 years.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by her husband of 55 years, James W. Byrd of Manteca; her son, Dennis James Byrd of Milpitas, her daughter, Vickie Lynn Deprenzo of Manteca; three grandchildren; half-brothers, Ted Newlen and Donald Newlen of Oklahoma.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Flowers in Sierra View Mausoleum at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy. 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi.

Ruby M. Spears

A graveside service was held Saturday at Ceres Memorial Park for Ruby Marie Hill Spears, 89, of Danville, Ark. She died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004 at Dardanelle Hospital in Dardanelle, Ark.

The McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born April 17, 1915, Mrs. Spears was a native of Evergreen, Colo., and had lived in Danville since 1995. She previously lived in Ceres from 1961 to 1995. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Spears leaves behind five children, Shirley M. Wetzel of Apple Valley, Sue Ann Dennis of Bolivar, Mo., Mary Louise Newman of Stockton, Donald Eugene Spears of Dardanelle, Ark., and Robert Lee Spears of Danville, Ark.; her sister, Nancy Rose Burton of Grandview, Mo.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Spears; children, William Gilbert "Billy" Spears and Kay Marie Keller; two brothers; and one sister.

Shirley J. Porter

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto for Shirley Jean Farris Porter, 69, of Ceres. She died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Born July 18, 1935, Mrs. Porter was a native of Tuskegee, Okla., and had lived in Ceres since 1952. She was a production worker for Tri-Valley Growers for 25 years. Mrs. Porter enjoyed gardening.

She leaves behind four children, Kenneth N. Porter and Brenda David, both of Modesto, and Kimberly Abshier and Patricia Porter, both of Ceres; two brothers, Jay Farris and Hurshell Farris, both of Modesto; two sisters, Ruby Propst of Bristow, Okla., and Georgia Bratton of Dixon; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild.

William Parish

William "Porky" G. Parish, 81, of Modesto died Tuesday, Dec. 7 at Memorial Medical Center.

A native of Oakland, he lived in Oakdale for 25 years before moving to Modesto 50 years ago. After 35 years of service, he retired from Sharpe Army Depot in Lathrop. He was a Warehouse Foreman. He was a member of Modesto Elks #1282 B.P.O.E., Modesto Senior Citizens Ballroom Dancing Club and was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, yardwork, gardening and motorhome traveling.

He is survived by his daughter, Nadine Clemens of Chambersburg, PA; two grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Parish.

Services were held on Friday, Dec. 10 at Lakewood Funeral Home. Entombment followed at a Mausoleum at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation was held.

Frank Kirby

Frank Ervin Kirby, 88, of Oakdale died Tuesday, Dec. 7 at Oak Valley Care Center.

A native of Madera, he lived in Ventura for over 40 years prior to moving to Oakdale three years ago. He co-owned "Kay's Catering" with his wife in Oxnard for 35 years. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Coalinga for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Helen A. Kirby of Oakdale; children, Lonnie E. Kirby of Sacramento and Jo Dean Young of Oakdale; sister, Carolyn Kirby of San Jose; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held. Private burial at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura.

Frieda Matz

Frieda Annette Isenbletter Spooner-Matz, 92, of Oakdale died Sunday, Dec. 5 at Doctors Medical Center.

A native of Oklahoma, she lived in Oakdale for 40 years. She worked at Tri-Valley #7 for seven years. She was a member of Vintage Faire Christian Center.

She is survived by her children, Eileen Silcox of Michigan and Loren Spooner of Oakdale; sisters, Elsie Skivers of Michigan and Betty Smith of Illinois; brother, Eugene Isenbletter of Indiana; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial service was held on Friday, Dec. 10 at Sierra Baptist Church.

Remembrances may be sent to American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreath Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
