Tessie Agatha Jackson

Funeral services for Tessie Agatha Jackson, 87, of Dixon will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W.  Texas St., Fairfield.

The Rev. Joseph Ternullo of St. Peters Catholic Church, Dixon and the Rev. Catharine Morris of the Dixon United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will follow in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs.  Jackson died on Sept. 13, 1998, at VacaValley Hospital after a brief illness.

Born July 8, 1911, in Sheboygan, Wis., she moved to the area 50 years ago, living in Fairfield for 30 years and Dixon for the past 20.

She worked at Fairfield Hospital for 20 years and was a loving mother, grandmother and wife.

She was also an avid lover of Reno and Lake Tahoe activities. She belonged to senior citizen organizations in Fairfield, South Lake Tahoe and Salem, Ore,. as well as the Crystal Rebekah Lodge in Suisun.

Mrs.  Jackson is survived by her daughters, Rena Wood of Dixon, Edith Patron of Salem, Ore., and Ellen Zawidski of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Charles Makare of Carson City, Nev.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to a senior center of the donor's choosing.

Max R. Morgan

Funeral services for Max R. Morgan, 70, of Vacaville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E. Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville.

The Rev. Vic Matson of Community United Methodist Church in Fairfield will officiate.

Burial will follow in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Morgan died Sept. 12, 1998, at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Vallejo after a long illness.

Born on April 14, 1928, in Elgin, Mont., he worked as a mechanic for 28 years. Twelve of those years for International Harvester in Montana, then for the city of Dixon.

He later worked for the Chrysler/Plymouth dealership in Vacaville until he retired.

For many years, he enjoyed annual fishing trips to Ekalaka, Mont. with his best friend Harlan.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Delores of Vacaville; daughters, Rhonda Brambley of Vacaville and Maxine Morgan of Ekalaka, Mont.; brother, Harold Morgan of Santa Maria; grandchildren, Robert of Stockton and Laurisa and Randall of Vacaville.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the United Veterans Memorial Association, 549 Merchant St., Vacaville 95688.

Margarite E. Davey

Funeral services for Margarite E. Davey, 63, will be 1 p.m. Thursday in McCune Garden Chapel.

The Rev. Keith Knauf will officiate. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Davey died Sept. 11, 1998, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Jan. 29, 1935, in Billings, Mont., she moved to Vacaville in 1972. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Davey of Vacaville; daughters, Tarril-Lyn Coen, Dawn-Ella Vargas and Vi-Lene Almeida, all of Vacaville; sister, Frances McCall of Oregon; brothers, William DeRousse of Oregon, Walter DeRousse of Arkansas, and Carl DeRousee of Antioch; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today in McCune Garden Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale, Vacaville 95688.

Emery Gerald Green

A memorial service for Emery Gerald Green, 90, of Fairfield, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Fairfield Senior Center Christiansen Room, 1200 Civic Center Drive. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. A private interment will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born April 8, 1908, in Marshall, Wash., Mr. Green died Sept. 12, 1998, in Fairfield.

In his early years he was a mechanic in  Washington. He worked for Basic Foods in Vacaville for five years and worked as a painter in civil service for Travis Air Force Base for 25 years.

Mr. Green loved to dance, fish,listen to music, and automobiles. He was an active member in the Tuesday and Wednesday clubs at the Fairfield Senior Center.

Mr. Green is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Stephen Ensor of Fairfield; son, Gerald Green of Fairfield; sister, Alice Richie of Colville, Wash.; brother and sister-in-law, Orval and Helen Green of Starbuck, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Lou and Kay Green of Spokane, Wash.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Elaine M. Lopez

A Mass of the Resurrection for Elaine M. Lopez, 59, of Vacaville will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly will officiate. Interment will follow at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born May 20, 1939, in Redwood City, Ms. Lopez died Sept. 15, 1998, in Sierra Solano Care Center in Fairfield.

A resident of Vacaville for the past 41 years, she was a member of St. Mary's Church. She loved working in the yard, barbecuing and loved all types of animals, mostly her cats.

Ms. Lopez was the owner/operator of Kelly's Coffee Shop in Vacaville for six years. She had been employed by Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto for 15 years, by Ampex in the Bay Area for three years and Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for six years.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and John Stephenson of Thousand Oaks; niece, Michelle Faragher of Newberry Park; nephew, John Michael Stephenson of Huntington Beach; aunt, Annie Wren of Vacaville; great-aunt, Frances Aragon of Redwood City; grandniece and -nephew, Joseph and Jessica, as well as many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale Ave., Vacaville 95688.

Adrienne R. Penaluna

A private inurnment will be held for Adrienne Rachel Penaluna, 83, of Vacaville.

Born Feb. 16, 1915, in Sacramento, Mrs. Penaluna died Sept. 12, 1998, in Vacaville.

A resident of Vacaville since 1949, she was active in the community for many years and was a member of The Native Daughters of Sacramento, a 40-year member of the Saturday Night Club, a charter member of the Solano County Cattlewomen of California and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Penaluna had a great love for people and acquired many relationships over the years. She took pride in cooking for family and friends.

She is survived by her brother, Dick Thomas of Santa Rosa; sisters, Edna Boothby and Barbara Backman, both of Sacramento; as well as many nieces, nephews and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Danielson - who owned and operated the dehydrator in Vacaville - in 1950; and Freedom W. Penaluna, who was a past postmaster in Vacaville, in 1988.

Memorial contributions can be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children, Northern California unit, P.O. Box 21-4477, Sacramento 95821-0477.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Mildred F. Boren

Graveside services for Mildred F. Boren, 79, of Santa Ana will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Burial will follow.

Born Oct. 21, 1918, in Independence, Mo., Mrs. Boren died Sept. 12, 1998, in Santa Ana.

Mrs. Boren lived in Vacaville from 1969 until 1995. She was a real estate agent and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and reading.

Mrs. Boren is survived by her sons, Frazier Seidel of Hilo, Hawaii, Jay Seidel of San Juan Capistrano and Paul Seidel of Capistrano Beach; daughter, Annie Amaya of Vacaville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Vaca Hills Chapel.

Viem Van Hoang

A Mass of the Resurrection for Viem Van Hoang, 54, of Fairfield will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. A private inurnment will follow.

Born May 10, 1944, in Hanoi, Vietnam, Mr. Hoang died Sept. 14, 1998, at his home.

A resident of Fairfield for nine years, Mr. Hoang previously lived in Burbank. He moved from Vietnam to the United States in 1982.

He worked for the Vietnamese government as a governor's assistant. He was known as a helpful person to those in need. He enjoyed his family and friends.

He is survived by his former wife, Liz Ngoc Trieu of San Francisco; daughter, Cathy of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Khoi and Paulette of Fairfield; father, Sy Van of Australia; five sisters and one brother; and granddaughter, Makaylah of Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Steven Bascherini

A memorial service will be held for Steven Bascherini, 34, of Petaluma at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Petaluma.

Born in Vallejo, Mr. Bascherini is presumed dead after a boating accident at Lake Sonoma. The body has not been recovered.

He was raised in Petaluma and attended St. Vincent de Paul High School. He took classes at both Santa Rosa Community College and Sonoma State University.

He owned and operated the North Bay Shower Door Co. in San Rafael.

He loved skin diving, classic cars and boats.

He is survived by his parents, Armand and Marjorie of Petaluma; girlfriend, Susan Nyman of Petaluma and her son, Conner; brothers, Brian of San Rafael and Curtis of Burson; grandmothers, Marie Fogarty of Vacaville and Sally of Oregon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Conner Nyman Trust Fund at any branch of Exchange Bank.

Noel Owen Willis

Funeral services for Noel Owen Willis, 75, of Fallon, Nev., will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Parkside Bible Fellowship Church in Fallon.

Inurnment will be at Mount View Cemetery in Reno.

Born Nov. 11, 1922, in Mason Valley, Nev., Mr. Willis died Sept. 16, 1998, at Tahoe Pacific Hospital.

Born to George and Elizabeth Willis, Mr. Willis was a Fallon resident for 17 years, moving from Winnemucca, Nev. He graduated from Yerington High School in 1940 as valedictorian.

After serving as a second lieutenant and navigator in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he returned to Nevada and graduated from the University of Nevada in 1947 with a degree in agriculture.

Mr. Willis started in business in Paradise Valley, Nev., leveling roads. He moved his business to Winnemucca and for the next 27 years, Willis Bros. Construction built roads, dams and reservoirs all over Nevada and Northern California.

Mr. Willis later bought the Park Motel in Winnemucca and operated it until 1981, at which time he sold the property and moved to Fallon. He served as president of the Winnemucca Chamber of Commerce. In 1981, Mr. Willis sold the motel and moved to Fallon. He was an avid angler and aviator. He instilled in his children a great love and appreciation of the outdoors and adventure.

Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Zelda of Fallon; son, Maxl of Paradise Valley; daughters, Michelle Grow of Sparks, Nev., and Teresa Lyn Willis of Vacaville; brother, Loyal of Idaho City, Idaho; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Fern, in 1979 and a sister, Frances Ross.

Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkside Bible Fellowship Church, 485 Tedford Lane, Fallon, NV 89406.

Frank Masahiro Omi

Funeral services for the Rev. Frank Masahiro Omi, 82, of Vacaville will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at East Bay Free Methodist Church in El Cerrito.

There will be a second service Saturday at Mission Valley Free Methodist Church in San Gabriel. Interment will be private.

Born Dec. 1, 1915, in Stockton, Mr. Omi died Sept. 18, 1998 in Vacaville.

Mr. Omi began his career in the ministry with the Santa Monica Free Methodist Church, then was assigned to Berkeley Free Methodist Church. He then went on to Mission Valley Free Methodist Church and finally arrived at Peninsula Methodist Free Church.

Mr. Omi is survived by his wife, Nobuko of Vacaville; daughter, Makiko Esther Olson of Albany; sons, Phillip of Fort Collins,  Colo., and Sheldon of Wheatland,  Colo.; stepdaughters, Joyce Unzueta of Jacksonville, Fla., and Arleen Kosimizu of Rosemead; brothers, George of Santa Rosa, Eugene of Redwood City, and Richard of Palo Alto; sisters, Sachiko Yanagi of Japan and Ruth of Los Gatos; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James Buster Plunkett

Funeral services for James Buster Plunkett, 83, of Vacaville will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vaca Hills Chapel in Vacaville.

The Rev. Gerald Harder of Elmira Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Aug. 4, 1915, in Antlers, Okla., Mr. Plunkett died Sept. 17, 1998 at his home.

Mr. Plunkett moved to the area in 1974. He was an efficiency expert for Union Oil Co.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Vacaville; his sons, Carl Allan of Grass Valley, Williams Charles of El Sobrante and James Irwin of Vacaville; his sisters, Betty Smart of Nevada City, Ruth Chandler of  Oklahoma, Dorothy Pitman of Magala and Jean Drolla of Magala; his brothers, William Edgar of Chico and Everett J. of Grass Valley; his grandchildren, Emily of Costa Mesa, Audrey of El Sobrante, Adam, Lauren and Amanda all of Vacaville.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral service starts at 11 a.m.
