Willie Bell Callison

Funeral services for Willie Bell Callison, 76, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Interment will follow. The Rev. Milton Speck will officiate.

Born June 2, 1922, in Paul Valley, Okla., Mrs. Callison died Nov. 2, 1998, in Vacaville.

Mrs. Callison moved to Vacaville in 1946, and was a housewife for 30 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and enjoyed being a mom and helping others.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and David Beckingham of Fairfield; grandson, Justin Beckingham of Fairfield; granddaughter, Tiffany Beckingham of Fairfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri St., Suite 4, Fairfield 94533.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Winifred Josephine Shutter

A Mass of Christian Burial for Winifred Josephine Shutter, 84, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will preside. Interment will be private at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Coloma.

Mrs. Shutter died Nov. 6, 1998, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo after a long illness.

Born Oct. 12, 1914, in England, she lived in Fairfield for 13 years. She was a homemaker for 45 years. She was a member of the Catholic Golden Agers and the Y.L.I.

Mrs. Shutter is survived by her daughter, Noreen Huettinger of Fairfield; son, Robert Dennis of Santa Clara; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. and a rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Bryan-Baker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Doug Williams

A memorial service for Doug Williams, 82, of Fair Oaks will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Fair Oaks.

Born Sept. 1, 1916, in the territory of Alaska, Mr. Williams died Nov. 5, 1998, at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville of complications from pneumonia.

A World War II veteran and a decorated participant of the Berlin Airlift, he retired at Mather Air Force Base in 1964 as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force after 24 years of active duty.

Mr. Williams was awarded the Order of DeMolay's highest honor, the Degree of Chevalier. He was a member of Oak Plains Lodge No. 789 F&AM, the Scottish Rite and the Royal Order of Jesters. He served in various leadership positions in the Ben Ali Shrine, including co-director of the activities unit, ambassador at large and president of the Shrine Hospital Building Corp. He was an avid golfer and a San Francisco 49ers football enthusiast.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bette of Fair Oaks; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Mary Kay of Vacaville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jim Skagen of Village Green,  Colo., and Margaret and Dave Mackie of Elkins, Ark.; brother, Sid of Seattle; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento 95817.

Felix Alexander Geissert Jr.

No formal services will be held for Felix Alexander Geissert Jr., 82, of Fairfield, who died Nov. 7, 1998, in La Mariposa Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield after a short illness.

A private inurnment will be will be in Hyndman, Pa.

Born July, 13, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Geissert was a World War II veteran who served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1947 as a B-24 pilot and instructor in the European campaign. He retired as a colonel in the California National Guard and worked for various oil companies as a design engineer for 32 years.

Mr. Geissert, who lived in Concord for 36 years before moving to Fairfield months ago, was a member of the Retired Officers Association.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Bill McGregor of Fairfield and Carol and Richard Smith of Middleburg, Fla.; a brother, William L. Geissert of Redondo Beach; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Daniel Palacios

Funeral services for Daniel Palacios, 25, of Suisun City will Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Fairfield Funeral Home.

Faustino Perez of the Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostes in Fairfield will officiate.

Mr. Palacios died in an accident Nov. 6, 1998, on Rockville Road in Suisun Valley.

Born May 5, 1973, in Mexico, he was a field worker for three years at the Wight Vineyard in Oakville and a member of the Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostes.

Mr. Palacios is survived by his father, Juan Palacios of Suisun; sisters, Salustia and Eva Palacios, both of Mexico, Marcela Palacios of Suisun, and Raquel Palacios of Fairfield; brothers, Efren Palacios of Vacaville, Noe Palacios of Suisun, Arturo Palacios of  Texas, and Elias and Camaliel Palacios of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margarita.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fairfield Funeral Home.

Dovie Faye Wickard

Graveside funeral services for Dovie Faye Wickard, 98, of Clear Lake will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

The Rev. Larry Fanning of the First Baptist Church of Clear Lake.

Mrs. Wickard, a longtime Solano County resident, died Nov. 6, 1998, in Lakeport after a long illness.

Born Aug. 15, 1900, in Lebanon, Kan., Mrs. Wickard worked as a law officer at the Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for 15 years. She had memberships in the Rebekah Lodge in Suisun, First Baptist Church of Fairfield for 30 years, and First Baptist Church of Clear Lake until her death.

Mrs. Wickard is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jean of Clear Lake; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; three daughters; and one son.

Mildred M. Caruthers

Funeral services for Mildred M. Caruthers, 74, of Dixon will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Cornerstone Baptist Church in Dixon.

The Rev. Glen Green will officiate. Burial will be in Silveyville Cemetery.

Mrs. Caruthers died Nov. 8, 1998, in Sacramento following a sudden illness.

Born Aug. 16, 1924, in Smithville, Okla., she moved to Dixon in 1956. She loved being around children and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Mrs. Caruthers is survived by her son, Ken and daughter-in-law, Suzanne; son David and daughter-in-law, Sandy, all of Sacramento; son, Donnie of Dixon; son in-law, Don Baxter of Dixon; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Linda Shafer of Vacaville and Roberta Hamm of Davis; sisters-in-law, Kate and Pearl Phillips, both of  Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill Delphis

Private family services will be held for Bill Delphis, 92, of Dixon. Interment will also be private.

Mr. Delphis died Nov. 9, 1998, at his home following a sudden illness.

Born Nov. 2, 1906, in New Castle, Wyo., he had lived in Dixon for 70 years. He was a bartender known as "Uncle Bill" at Dawson's in Dixon for more than 40 years. He loved his grandchildren and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Emma of Dixon; stepson, Glen Wilson of Rochester, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Don Wilson of Los Angeles, Mark Wilson of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Nancy Bardugon of Salt Lake City; and two great-grandchildren, Collin and Robbie Wilson of Spanish Fork.

Arrangements are under the direction of Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Teofista Antoco Gantan

Funeral services for Teofista Antoco Gantan, 88, of Vacaville will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Bishop James Enis of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Gantan died Nov. 9, 1998, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born Dec. 16, 1909, in the Philippine Islands, Mrs. Gantan moved to Vacaville in 1994. She was a homemaker for 71 years.

Mrs. Gantan is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Fernando and Josephina, Luis Jr. and Luz, all of Honolulu, and Jerry and Remy of Vacaville; and 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Gantan.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

L.W. Jennings

Funeral services for L.W. Jennings, 70, of Fairfield, will be 11 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Sebastian Meyer of the church will officiate.

Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Dec. 3, 1927, in Marmaduke, Ark., he died Nov. 10, 1998, in NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness.

He lived in Fairfield 34 years.

Mr. Jennings retired as a technical sergeant from the Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a loadmaster and had served in Korea and Vietnam.

He also retired from the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District after 20 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles.

Mr. Jennings is survived by his daughter, Patricia of Fairfield; sons, Michael of Vacaville, Edward of Hollywood and son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Marianne of Suisun City; sister, Beatrice Rubino of Tracy; brother, Ben of Hayward; granddaughter, Kristen Aberson of Suisun and grandson, Justin Tolbert of Fairfield.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church, with rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday.

A memorial contribution may be made to the church, 2700 Dover Ave., Fairfield.

Fairfield Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Robert Randolph Matthews

No services will be held for Robert Randolph Matthews, 82, of Vacaville.

Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Matthews died Nov. 9, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield following a long illness.

Born Dec. 19, 1915, in Fairbanks, Alaska, he moved to this area in 1977. He was a merchant seaman for Mater Mates & Pilots for 40 years.

Mr. Mathews is survived by his longtime friends, William and Virginia East of Vacaville.

Vaca Hills Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Clyde A. Moore

Funeral services for Clyde A. Moore, 72, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

Pastor Wes Nordman of Dixon Community Church will preside. Interment will be at Silveyville Cemetery.

Mr. Moore died Nov. 9, 1998, in Dixon following a sudden illness.

Born May 5, 1926, in Howe, Okla., he had been a resident of Dixon and Solano County for 52 years.

A farmer for more than 50 years, he was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars who enjoyed spending time with his friends at Dawson's in Dixon.

Mr. Moore is survived by a brother, George of Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Gary Lynn Cole

Funeral services for Gary Lynn Cole, 55, of Sacramento will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon. Clergy from Valley Free Evangelical Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Nov. 18, 1942, in Vallejo, Mr. Cole died Nov. 9, 1998, in Sacramento.

Mr. Cole worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in Roseville, Sacramento Union Carbide and Mobile Chemical in Woodland. He was a member of Sacramento Model Airplane Association, Woodland Horseshoe Club and Woodland Golf Association. He played in the Sacramento City Softball League for five years and coached Sacramento Girls Little League for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia of Sacramento; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Connie of Sacramento; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Anthony  Taylor of Sacramento; brothers, Michael and Larry of Vacaville; mother, Pauline of Allendale; grandchildren, Donald Cole Jr., Kyle Cole, Ryan Cole, Anthony  Taylor Jr., Jordan Cole, Savanna Cole, Clint Cole and Vanessa Cole, all of Sacramento.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Society, 817 Missouri St. No. 4, Fairfield 94533.

Elizabeth (Betty) R. Hall

A Catholic Prayer Service for Elizabeth (Betty) R. Hall, 85, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Saturday in McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

The Rev. Ben De Leon of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate.

Inurnment will be private.

Born March 22, 1913, in Sisiman Bataon, Philippines, she died Nov. 9, 1998, in Vacaville after a brief illness.

Mrs. Hall lived in Vacaville 43 years and had been a housewife. She enjoyed her many children and grandchildren and particularly enjoyed her animals and gardening.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her sons, Harry Hall of Richmond, James Hall of Sacramento, John Hall of Vacaville and Alexander Hall of Fairfield; daughters, Elizabeth Martha Hall of Vallejo, Laura Hillestad of Lakevillage, Ind., Verna Moskal of Pollock Pines, Sheila Hall of South San Francisco, Aida Marino of Woodland, Margaret Bergeron of Manchester, N.H., and Valerie  Taylor of Vallejo; brothers, Joe Edgar of Bremerton, Wa., Bill Edgar of Reno, Nev., and Chester Edgar of San Pablo; sisters, Pearl Herndon of Novato, Jane Summerfield of Daly City, and Annie McCaughan of Vacaville; 36 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
