Thelma M. Peters

Graveside services for Thelma M. Peters, 96, of Dixon will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon. Pastors Clarke Peters of First Alliance Church in El Paso,  Texas, and Catharine Morris of United Methodist Church in Dixon as well as members of Aurora Rebekah Lodge will officiate.

Born Jan. 4, 1902, in northeast  Pennsylvania, Mrs. Peters died Dec. 29, 1998, at her Dixon home.

She moved to  Washington state before moving to Dixon in 1929 as a young wife and mother. For many years she enjoyed sewing and crocheting projects, creating countless gatherings for family and friends as well as traveling in her retirement years.

As a 60-year member of Aurora Rebekah Lodge of Dixon, Mrs. Peters held many offices including that of noble grand, and she formed many lifelong friendships there.

She is survived by her son, Charles of Dixon; daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Bob Brown of Woodland and Charlotte and Wendell Moore of Suisun Valley; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

Memorial contributions can be made to United Methodist Church Building Fund, 209 N.  Jefferson St., Dixon 95620.

Michaela Kummer

Private services for Michaela Diana Kummer, 3 days old, of  Pennsylvania will be at a later date.

Born Dec. 23, 1998, the baby died Dec. 26, 1998, in Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa., from natural causes.

She is survived by her parents, J. Mark and Sheri Kummer of Reading, Pa.; half-brother, Nikolas of Sarasota, Fla.; half-sister, Elena of Sarasota; grandmother, Diana M. Michaud of Portage, Maine; and uncle, Keith Michaud of Vacaville.

Viola Margret Wilkins

Funeral services for Viola Margret Wilkins, 85, of Rio Vista were held in Rio Vista. Interment was in Masonic & Odd Fellows cemetery in Rio Vista.

Born Jan. 16, 1913, in Cincinnati, Mrs. Wilkins died Dec. 21, 1998, in Vacaville.

Mrs. Wilkins was a native of Cincinnati.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Viola and Bart Santoni of Vacaville; granddaughter, Jodie Santoni of Hayward; sister, Christina Schaefer of Cincinnati; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymundo Aquino

A funeral Mass for Raymundo Aquino, 89, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Louie Valenzuela of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church will preside.

Interment will be in the Fairfield/Suisun Cemetery.

Born Dec. 22, 1909, in Pangasinan, the Philippines, Mr. Aquino died Dec. 30, 1998, at David Grant Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Mr. Aquino was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He was a prisoner of war for three years. He also was a member of the Philippines Scouts' Association and the Retired Officers' Association. He retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service, including serving as a captain and an artillery specialist.

He and his wife, Maria Corazon, moved to Fairfield from Daly City in 1987.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by daughters, Cecelia Guiang of Fairfield, Guia Antioquita of Hayward, Virginia Tedesco of Huntington Beach and Rosemary McPharlin of Fairfield; sons, Roy and Robert of Hayward and James of San Francisco; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.

Logan Andrew  Jackson Jr.

A funeral service for Logan Andrew  Jackson Jr., 85, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Lou Harris of the Assembly of God Church will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Sept. 2, 1913, in Kingfisher, Okla., Mr.  Jackson died Dec. 22, 1998, at his Fairfield home after a long illness.

He lived in Fairfield for 32 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1966. He retired from the 604th OMS as a technical sergeant.

He is survived by his brothers, Herbert of Phoenix, Chester of Pueblo,  Colo., Irvin of Cleveland, Calvin of Pueblo and Luther of  Oklahoma City; sisters, Georgianna Kinnard of  Oklahoma City and Geneva of Killeen,  Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rufino Mabilanga Cambura

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rufino Mabilanga Cambura, 74, of Fairfield will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born July 6, 1924, in Misamis Oriental, Mindanao Province, Philippines, Mr. Cambura died Dec. 26, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield.

Mr. Cambura served in the Philippine Army as a recognized guerrilla from 1943 to 1944. He was a veteran of World War II and also served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948. On Feb. 4, 1944, he was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service.

He worked as a security guard at Clark Air Force Base for 10 years. Later he worked in sales for about 10 years. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Post No. 10 in the Philippines.

Mr. Cambura is survived by his wife, Geronima of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Angelina and Cain Duff of Suisun City, Lourdes and Ernest Erickson of Vacaville, Remedios and Libertito Sagao of Israel; sons and daughters-in-law, Rufina and Therry of Israel, Jesusito and Linda of the Philippines; stepson, Jaime Dela Vega of Fairfield; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Kenneth Stanley Wangeline

Graveside services for Kenneth Stanley Wangeline, 73, of Fairfield, with military honors by an honor guard from Travis Air Force Base will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Interment will follow.

Born March 24, 1925, in Larabee, Wis., Mr. Wangeline died Dec. 23, 1998, at his home.

Mr. Wangeline served in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946, and during World War II he served in the Pacific theater as a flight engineer. From 1946 to 1971, he served in the Air Force as a flight engineer, crew chief and line chief. He retired in 1971 as a chief master sergeant.

From 1972 to 1983, he owned and operated a Mobile gas station in Vacaville and also worked with Meals on Wheels for three years. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid angler. He was a devoted family man and loved his grandchildren.

Mr. Wangeline is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Martha of Fairfield; daughter, Robin of Suisun City; granddaughters, Suzanne and Margaret of Suisun City; grandson, Cory of Fairfield; brothers, Lawrence "Bud" of Moline, Ill., and Edward "Butch" of Appleton, Wis.; and sister, Joan Behnke of Weyauwega, Wis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Charlie Wise

Funeral services for Charlie Wise, 78, of Pollock Pines will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Chapel of the Pines in Placerville.

The Revs. Buck Treadway and Stephen Lavooi will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo at 3 p.m.

Mr. Wise died Jan. 2, 1999, in Sacramento of natural causes.

Born Jan. 31, 1920, in Remlig,  Texas, he was a resident of Vacaville for 20 years. He was a member of The Sirs of Pollock Pines and The Christian Life Center of Pollock Pines. Mr. Wise was a Bible scholar.

He served in the Navy during World War II and was a pilot of the Blue Raider Squadrant of World War II. Mr. Wise worked as a certified purchasing manager for the University of California, Berkeley, for 36 years. He retired in 1988. He moved to Pollock Pines in 1997.

Mr. Wise is survived by his wife, Stephenie, of Pollock Pines; stepsons, William Ray Easter of Vacaville, Dwayne Easter of Oregon and Stephen Lavooi of Torrance; daughter, Charlene Edwards of Titusville, Fla.; stepdaughters, Norma Jean Wright, Dorothy Mae Smith, both of  Oklahoma, and Cheryl Huff of Pollock Pines; sister, Mary Treadway of  Louisiana; and numerous grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Christian Life Center, 5723 Pony Express Trail, Pollock Pines 95726.

Lucille Anderson

A private burial service for Lucille Anderson, 84, of Vacaville, was held at Cypress View Mausoleum in San Diego.

Mrs. Anderson died Dec. 18, 1998.

Born on Nov. 20, 1914, in West Salem, Ill., she moved to Vacaville in 1975 and lived here through 1979, moving back in 1987 after living in Carpinteria and Escondido.

She worked as a secretary for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Hiram Walkers Distillery. She was also a real estate sales associate with Century 21 in Vacaville. She loved to travel and also enjoyed gardening and dancing.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Barbara Elaine Biggs.

Eduardo S. Cruz

Mass of Christian Burial for Eduardo S. Cruz, 72, of Suisun, will be held in the Calulut Municipal Cemetery, San Fernando, Pampanga, the Philippines.

Mr. Cruz died Jan. 3, 1999, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born Sept. 6, 1926, in the Philippines, he resided in Suisun.

Mr. Cruz is survived by his wife, Maria of Suisun; sons and daughters-in-law, Enrico and Ernnani of Daly City, Alex and Mary Jane of Suisun, Jomar and Leslie of the Philippines; sons, Eilo, Benjamin and Edmar, all of the Philippines; daughter, Gloria of the Philippines; daughter and son-in-law, Charina C. and Ceasar of the Philippines; brothers, Jose and Marceciando, both of the Philippines; sisters, Beatrice Estaban, Natividad David and Teresita Pineda, all of the Philippines; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and a rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

William Thomas MacLaren Sr.

Funeral services for William Thomas MacLaren Sr., 68, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Chaplain Keith Knauf will preside. Burial will follow at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. MacLaren died Jan. 3, 1999, in Sacramento after a sudden illness.

Born July 16, 1930, in Philadelphia, he lived in Vacaville for the past 24 years. After serving in the United States Air Force, he entered the civil service in 1955 until his retirement in 1986. He joined the Air Force Reserves in 1955 and retired from the reserves in 1988. He was the engine shop foreman when he was with the civil service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of Vallejo, Sergeants Association. He enjoyed fishing and watching football.

Mr. MacLaren is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy of Vacaville; son, William T. Jr. of Vacaville; grandsons, William A. of Vacaville and Charles of Hemet; great-grandson, Corey of Vacaville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Stork MacLaren; father, Thomas; sister, Margaret Marine, and brother, David, all of Philadelphia.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Hilda Gertrude Sprague

There will be no services for Hilda Gertrude Sprague, 88, of Vacaville at her request. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Sprague died Jan. 2, 1999, in Sunrise Health Care in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born Sept. 12, 1910, in North Baddock, Pa., she lived in the area less than a year. She was a clerk for the Department of Motor Vehicles in San Francisco and San Jose. She was a longtime member of the South Side Senior Center in San Jose. She loved to play cards, bingo and gamble.

Mrs. Sprague is survived by her daughters, Barbara  White of Fairfield, Alice Gaxiola of Albany and Kathleen Telles of Castro Valley; brother, Frank Lachowitz of Chelsea, Mich.; sister-in-law, Eleanor Locke of Livonia, Mich.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Natalie Ramirez

A Mass of Christian Burial for Natalie Ramirez, 4, of Fairfield will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Eugenio Lopez of St. Mary's Catholic Church will preside.

Burial will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born on Nov. 19, 1994, Natalie died in Fairfield on Dec. 31, 1998, after a sudden illness.

She is survived by her mother, Sylvia Gonzalez of Fairfield; father, Serafin Becerra of Vacaville; brother, Fabian Ramirez of Fairfield; and grandmother, Micaela Vazquez of Fairfield.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville, with a rosary recital at 7 p.m.

Ezell 'Ezy' Holt

Funeral services for Ezell "Ezy" Holt, 58, of Fairfield will be at 12:30 p.m. today at the Shiloh Baptist Church.

Jonathan Wilson of Shiloh Baptist Church will preside. Interment will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Holt died Dec. 30, 1998, in Fairfield after a sudden illness.

Born May 23, 1941, in Carthage,  Texas, he lived in Fairfield for 26 years. He was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years as a personnel technician.

Mr. Holt is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Trenelle of Vacaville; daughter, April of Sacramento; grandson, Lance Trey of Vacaville; brother, George of Seattle; sister, Clotie Parker of Mosier Valley,  Texas; nieces, Janice, of Houston,  Texas, Carol, Cheryl, Brigette and Deandra, all of Seattle; nephews, Greg, Wayne, Bernard, Gregory and Victor, all of Fort Worth,  Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Gertrude; and sisters, Betty Jean and Mamie Lee.

Quiet hour was held Tuesday at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.
