Mary Elizabeth Falling

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Falling, 77, of Fairfield will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Fairfield Funeral Home. Burial will be in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.

Mrs. Falling died July 16, 1999, in NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.

Born June 21, 1922, in Logansport, Ind., she lived in Fairfield for three years. She worked for civil service for the U.S. Army in Germany and Japan after World War II. She met her husband, Alton, in Japan, and they were married in the American Consular Service in Yokohama in 1949.

Mrs. Falling is survived by her husband; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Madeline Green Falling of San Jose and Stephen and Julia of Kingsport, Tenn.; granddaughter, Marie of Kingsport; and grandsons, Dennis of Kingsport and Mark and Paul, both of Gladstone, Ore.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday in Fairfield Funeral Home.

Mary Esther Huffenberger

A Catholic Prayer Service for Mary Esther Huffenberger, 66, of Fairfield will be held 10 a.m. Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will officiate. Internment will be private at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Huffenberger died July 16, 1999, in Sunbridge Care Center of Vallejo after a long illness.

Born April 16, 1933, in Boston, Mass., she lived in Fairfield for 31 years. She worked as a tax preparer for 31 years and owned and operated Mary's Taxx Service in Fairfield for the past 10 years. Her clientele came from the Bay Area, Vallejo, Vacaville and Napa.

Mrs. Huffenberger is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Marjorie of Fairfield; daughter, Julie of Fairfield; son-in-law, Tim Pollock of Vacaville; sister, Cathy Harnden of Omaha, Neb.; and grandchildren, Stephan, Alex, Levi and Nathan, all of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy, in December 1997.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday with a vigil at 7 p.m. in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, 1652 W.  Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Albert Lee Knott

Funeral services for Albert Lee Knott, 67, of Fairfield will be held at 1 p.m. today in Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Bill Grant will officiate. Interment will be held in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.

Mr. Knott died July 19, 1999, in his home after a long illness.

Born Dec. 4, 1931, in  Oklahoma, he lived in Fairfield for 25 years. He worked as a laborer in the San Joaquin Valley area of Tulare.

Mr. Knott is survived by his wife, Hulda Marie of Fairfield; sisters, Millie Voshall, Ona  Jones and Barbara Williams, all of Vacaville, Faye Pittman of Fairfield and Cora Wolf of Camden, S.C.; stepson, Lenny Donaldson of Arbuckle; stepdaughter, Carol Mack of Fairfield; brothers, Troy of Fairfield, Leonard of Pixley and Lloyd of Tulare; numerous nieces and nephews; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Dick T. Nakatani

A graveside service for Dick T. Nakatani, 63, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Friday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Nakatani died July 18, 1999, in VacaValley Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 4, 1935, in Concord, he lived in Vacaville for 55 years. He worked for more than 29 years as a supervisor for Basic Vegetable Products.

Mr. Nakatani enjoyed bowling, loved softball and was a great Oakland Raiders fan.

Mr. Nakatani is survived by his wife of 20 years, Maureen of Vacaville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Jim McKim of Vacaville and Kristin and Steven Cowan of Vacaville; sons, Richard of Roseville and William Beeder Nakatani of Vacaville; daughter-in-law, Sharmain of Vacaville; grandchildren, Jesse McKim, Ashley, Sierra and Cheyenne, all of Vacaville; brothers, Yoshio of Vacaville, Fred of Winters, Harry of Rohnert Park and Robert of Dixon; sisters, Yeiko McCrum of Pacifica and Yoshiko Sanchez of Vacaville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today in McCune Garden Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri St., No. 4, Fairfield, 94533.

Robert Earl Paige

Services for Robert Earl Paige of Vacaville will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in Bryant Mortuary in San Francisco. Burial will be in Skylawn Memorial, San Mateo.

After spending 37 years at sea, he moved to Vacaville with his wife Marie and foster sons Jacquinn and Pavel in 1989. He served six years in the U.S. Navy and worked as a crossing guard at schools in Vacaville.

He had been hospitalized since February at the VA Hospital in San Francisco, where he died.

Mr. Paige is survived by his wife, Marie Rhodes-Paige; daughter, Deniese of New York; granddaughters, Monique and Jasmine of New York; sisters, Ann, Amy and Poly Ann; and brother, Carl Herbert.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetic Foundation in his memory.

Franklin M. Elsasser

A memorial service for Franklin M. Elsasser, 78, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fairfield Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Elsasser died July 15, 1999, in NorthBay Medical Center after an illness.

Born Oct. 5, 1920, in Winner, S.D., he lived in Fairfield for 32 years. He worked as an ammunition safety inspector with the U.S. government, civil service for 31 years. He was a member of the Masons and the NRA.

Mr. Elsasser is survived by his wife, Joyce of Fairfield; daughters, Corlis Demm of Sterling, N.Y., and Patricia Miller of Crescent City; sons, Thomas of Fairfield and James of Witten, S.D.; mother, Mildred of Gregory, S.D.; brothers, Donald of North Carolina and Robert of South Dakota; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Raymond Otis Glass

Graveside services for Raymond Otis Glass, 81, of Vacaville will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

The Rev. Leo Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Glass died July 17, 1999. in VacaValley Hospital after a short illness.

Born April 2, 1918. in Glascow, Ky., he moved to the area 40 years ago. He was a salesman for Chandlers Furniture for 25 years.

Mr. Glass enjoyed gardening and was a great storyteller.

Mr. Glass is survived by his wife, Dolly of Vacaville; stepson, Dennis Sorahan of Los Gatos; brother, Ralph Borders of Glascow; sister, Clairene Settels of Glascow, Ky.

Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Marian Kelmer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marian Kelmer, of Fairfield will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

The Rev. Sebastian Meyer of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Mr. Kelmer died July 17, 1999, in his home after a long illness. He was born in Blonie, Warsaw, Poland. He lived in Fairfield for 14 years. Prior to that he lived in Corona, Queens, N.Y., for 20 years.

Mr. Kelmer worked as a machinist at the Elmhurst Rubber Co. in Elmhurst, N.Y., for more than 20 years.

Mr. Kelmer is survived by his wife, Alexandra of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Jack Politovich of Fairfield; and Mary and David Coster of Maple Valley, Wash.; grandchildren, Danine Wiseman and husband Damon of Fairfield; Daniel Politovich of Fairfield and Nicole Ward-Coster of Maple Valley; great-grandchild, Elizabeth Wiseman of Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Robert M. Lopez

Funeral services for Robert M. Lopez, 44, of Vacaville will be 12 p.m. Wednesday at the Solano Valley Mortuary in Fairfield.

The Rev. Nathaniel Foster of the Greater El Bethel Baptist Church in Richmond will officiate.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday at the Solano Valley Mortuary.

Born Jan. 11, 1955, in Mexico, Mr. Lopez died July 11, 1999, at his Vacaville home after a long illness.

He lived in Vacaville for 39 years.

Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife, Barbara Garcia of Fairfield; sons, Robert and Richard of Fairfield; parents, Guadalupe and Miguel of Vacaville; brothers, Manual, George and Miguel of Vacaville.

 Jefferson Lee McKennon

Inurnment services for  Jefferson Lee McKennon, 78, of Castro Valley, will be held at Sorensen Brothers Mortuary in Hayward.

Born April 11, 1921, in Tennessee, Mr. McKennon died July 15, 1999, in Hayward after a long illness.

He moved to the Bay Area in 1940 as part of his World War II service.

He worked as a dry dockman for Todd Shipyards in Alameda and A.P.S. in the Bay Area.

He liked to hunt, fish and camp.

Mr. McKennon is survived by his wife, Mary Ann McKennon; daughters, Anna of Alameda, Judita Louise Sole of Vacaville; sons, James of Castro Valley; grandchildren,  Jefferson Lee Sole of Martinez, Elder Paul Cotcher of Sacramento and Alicia Cotcher McKennon of Newport Beach.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

Juanita Duran

Funeral for Juanita Duran, 82, of Fairfield will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Solano Valley Mortuary. Pastor Samuel Hensley of Fairfield Freewill Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Oct. 28, 1916, in  Texas, Mrs. Duran died July 19, 1999, at Sierra Solano Care Facility.

Mrs. Duran worked at Armour Meat Packing Co. for 30 years.

Mrs. Duran is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Falcon of Fairfield; sisters, Concha Lopez of Moorpark and Hope Pena, Connie Revera and Josephine Jimenez, all of  Texas; brother, Raymond Jimenez of  Texas; and grandchildren, John, Jeff and Jeanette Falcon, all of Fairfield.

Mrs. Duran was preceded in death by her husband, Felix.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Solano Valley Mortuary.

Frida Hirsch

Private services will be held for Frida Hirsch, 88, of Fairfield, and inurnment will be private in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Hirsch died July 15, 1999, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Sept. 1, 1910, in Vienna, Austria, she lived in Fairfield for 23 years. She was a homemaker for many years.

Mrs. Hirsch is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Jewel of Fairfield; brother, Robert Mason of North Hollywood; grandchildren, David and Shauna, both of Fairfield; and great-grandson, Jacob of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1975.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
