Lynn Marlene Pitts

Funeral services for Lynn Marlene Pitts, 55, of Suisun will be 4 p.m. Saturday at the home of her daughter, Maria Hiatt.

A family member will officiate.

Disposition will be private.

Born April 23, 1944, in San Francisco, Mrs. Pitts died at home Aug. 12, 1999, after a brief illness.

She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria Hiatt of Fairfield, Janet M. Dillon of Fairfield and Dianna L. Walker of Los Angeles; brother, William Osburn of Santa Rosa; sisters, Ruby Chroninger of Rohnert Park, Cyndi Hooker of Tacoma, Wash., and Kathy Schriver of  West Virginia; grandchildren, Amanda Lippincott of Fair-field, John R. Walker of Los Angeles, Kimberly Walker of Los Angeles and Nathaniel Dillon of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Austin Dillon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W.  Texas St., Fairfield, 94533.

Robert William Coffey

Memorial services for Robert William Coffey, 56, of Vacaville will be 3 p.m. today at 275 Bald Eagle Drive, Vacaville.

Inurnment will be private.

Born April 2, 1943, in Kerens,  Texas, Mr. Coffey died Aug. 13, 1999, at his Vacaville home after a long illness.

He moved to Vacaville 31 years ago.

He worked as a machinist at the Alameda Naval Air Station for 15 years.

Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Vacaville; daughters, Debra Rush and Giselle Matteson of Vacaville; sisters, Ruby Ceely of Vacaville and Evelyn Woodruff of Sonora; grandchildren, Desiree Rush, Alan Dean Rush and Jamie Ann Matteson.

Walter Arvid Eckman

Funeral services for Walter Arvid Eckman, 86, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Friday at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in St. Louis. Interment will be in St. Paul's Churchyard, St. Louis.

Mr. Eckman died Aug. 16, 1999, at Laurel Creek Health Center in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on March 29, 1913, in St. Louis, he moved to Fairfield two years ago after having lived in St. Louis for 84 years. He was associated with Lammert Furniture Co. in St. Louis for nearly 50 years. He also was a volunteer for the Red Cross and for the Laclede Grove Retirement Community. He was a dedicated member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and a Cardinals fan his entire life. He also served with the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Eckman is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Mary of Green Valley; grandson, Derek of Green Valley; and granddaughter, Amy of Green Valley.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Rose Grant

Funeral for Rose Grant, 78, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a vigil service will be 7 p.m. Thursday. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mrs. Grant died on Aug. 16, 1999, at NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.

Born on Oct. 6, 1920, in Fairfield, she lived in the area all her life. She was a loving wife of 53 years and a mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Born and raised in Fairfield, Mrs. Grant graduated from Armijo High School in 1938 and married her husband in 1946. She was a member of the U.P.P.E.C. Portuguese Lodge. She was a very active member of the NorthBay Hospital Guild for many years and also was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Mrs. Grant is survived by her husband, Wayne of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Lou Frank of Pittsburgh; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karen of Vacaville; grandchildren, Angela and Anthony Frank of Pittsburgh, and Jason and Mark of Suisun City; aunt, Josephine Puerta of Benicia; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Concha and Frank Bonifacio of Fairfield; and sisters, Angelina Lorente of Santa Clara and Constance Bonifacio of Fairfield.

Roy T. Quint Jr.

Funeral services for Lt. Col. Roy T. Quint Jr., 87, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Friday in Vaca Hills Chapel. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Quint died Aug. 17, 1999, in Winsor House Convalescent Home after a long illness.

Born on March 19, 1912, in Yuma, Ariz., he moved to the area 40 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army for 31 years. He was involved in the Korean conflict and World War II. After retiring, he worked in civil service at Travis Air Force Base for 13 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Yokohama, Japan, the Travis Retired Officers' Association, the Solano Taxpayers Association and Phi Gamma Delta fraternity in Tucson, Ariz. He enjoyed tennis, golf and hunting.

Mr. Quint is survived by his wife, Bessie; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Lee Valdez of Campbell and JoAnn and Mike Shucart of Vacaville; sisters, Doris VanDyke of Tucson, and Charlotte Kronauer of Denver; grandchildren, Rick, Steve, Lisa, Jill and William; and great-grandchildren, Canyon, Mikayla and Tahnee.

Memorial contributions can be made to Children's Brain Diseases Foundation, P.O. Box 1145, Mill Valley, 94942, in care of Mrs. G. Rider.

Catalina Rosa Sujo

Funeral services for Catalina Rosa Sujo, 85, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Fairfield Memorial Park Chapel. The Rev. Umberto Penunuri will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, and burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield.

Mrs. Sujo died on Aug. 15, 1999, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born on March 6, 1914, in Managua, Nicaragua, she lived in Fairfield for 19 years. She was a homemaker for 60 years and loved cooking and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Mrs. Sujo is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Torres of Fairfield and Lorena Dominguez of Suisun City; grandchildren, Ralph Moody, Richard Moody, Cynthia Moody, Patricia Moody and Amy Dominguez, all of Suisun City; and great-grandchildren, Eric Moody of Suisun City and  Taylor Ramirez of Suisun City.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Margaret E. Tilcock

Memorial services for Margaret E. Tilcock, 89, of Cordelia will be 4 p.m. Friday at Fairfield Funeral Home. The Rev. Chuck McKinney will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Tilcock died Aug. 16, 1999, at TNL Care Home in Suisun City.

Born on Oct. 9, 1909, in Corvallis, Ore., she moved to the area 10 years ago. She was a homemaker for several years.

Mrs. Tilcock is survived by her sons, Darrell of Cordelia and Patrick of Eugene, Ore.; sister, Melva Smith of Woodside; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Naif A. Eseed

Funeral service for Naif A. Eseed, 62, of Suisun City will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. Interment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park, while visitation will from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Eseed died Aug. 17, 1999, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo.

Born on Oct. 10, 1936, in Jerusalem, he moved to the area 20 years ago. He owned and operated a retail grocery store.

Mr. Eseed is survived by his wife, Fay of Suisun City; son, Robeh of Suisun City; daughters, Nina of Petaluma, Julie of Suisun City and Diane Solem of  Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren.

Violet T.  White

Services for Violet T.  White, 98, of Vacaville will be today at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.

Mrs.  White died Aug. 15, 1999, in Vacaville.

Born on May 20, 1901, in the Philippine Islands, she first came to San Francisco in the early 1950s. She returned there in 1987, where she lived until moving to Vacaville one month ago to be near family.

Mrs.  White is survived by her daughter, Ina Shelton of San Francisco; grandchildren, Martha Bacon of Henderson, Nev., Harold Walker of Dublin, Va., and Walter Walker of Vacaville; great-grandchildren, Brian Bacon and Thomas Bacon of Arizona and Rose Walter, Ray Walker and Walter Walker Jr., all of Vacaville; and great-great-grandchildren, Kyle Kilroy and Troy, Dalton and Scarlett Rose Walker, all of Vacaville. She also is survived by her sister, Ina Rivero of Fairfield, as well as many nieces and nephews in Solano County and the Bay Area.

Services are being handled by Halstead & Gray Mortuary in San Francisco.

Peggy Elinor Horn

Graveside services for Peggy Elinor Horn, 75, of Vacaville will be held 2 p.m.today at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Bruce Meier of Nazarene Church of Lincoln will preside. Interment will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Horn died Aug. 18, 1999, in David Grant Medical Center after a long illness.

Born May 1, 1924, in Hollister, she lived in Vacaville for 50 years. She worked at Basic Vegetable for 20 years and retired from American Home Foods in 1979.

Mrs. Horn enjoyed going RVing with her husband and their retired military friends in Vacaville and also was a devoted fan of the 49ers and Giants. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother.

Mrs. Horn is survived by her husband, John of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Dona of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Richard Flick of Bigfork, Mont.; and grandsons, Gregory Haskin and Jeffery, both of Sacramento.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.

Jesse John 'Mac' McDeavitt

A memorial service with full military honors for Jesse John "Mac" McDeavitt, 56, of Vacaville will be held 2 p.m. Monday in Travis Air Force Base Chapel Center.

Chaplain John Berger will officiate. Disposition will be private.

Mr. McDeavitt died Aug. 16, 1999, in David Grant Medical Center after a long illness.

Born July 16, 1943, in Slippery Rock, Pa., he resided in Vacaville for 23 years. Mr. McDeavitt, who graduated from St. Leo's College in Florida, served in the Elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal Division of the Air Force. He completed two tours in Vietnam and retired with the rank of master sergeant from Travis Air Force Base in 1981. For the next 16 years, he worked as a power plant diesel mechanic.

Mr. McDeavitt was a popular and tireless community volunteer. He served as general chairman of the Onion Festival for two years and was a member of the Fiesta Days Committee, Chamber of Commerce, BPOE No. 2638, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brotherhood of Vietnam Veterans and Ducks Unlimited, Monticello Chapter.

Mr. McDeavitt long will be remembered as the Onion Queen and the consistent winner of the Fiesta Days Whiskerino Contest in the most unique category. He was an eager competitor in the Dixon Lambtown Cook-off. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and he was a gourmet cook.

Mr. McDeavitt is survived by his companion, Jan Aldrich of Vacaville; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Greg Skeen; two sisters and two brothers; and many friends.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Robert Randall Reed Sr.

Funeral services for Robert Randall Reed Sr., 52, of Rio Linda will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in North Church of The Nazarene, 1100 Las Palmas Ave., North Sacramento.

Pastor David Taft of Sacramento will officiate. Inurnment will be at Sylvan Cemetery, 7401 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights.

Mr. Reed died Aug. 16, 1999, in Methodist Hospital in Sacramento of heart failure.

Born Feb. 28, 1947, in Hammon, Ind., he lived in Vacaville 18 years. He owned Reed & Sons Trucking.

Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Vickie of Rio Linda; sons, Randy of Vacaville and Chris of Rio Linda; grandson, Curtis of Vacaville; mother, Dorothy Collar of Lompoc; sister, Roselind Pacheo; and brother, Richard.
