LIONEL FRANCIS DUGAS
Unexpectedly, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on November 7, 2002, Mr. Lionel Francis Dugas, husband of Thelma (Wilson) Dugas of 292 Main Street, Blacks Harbour, NB. Born at Atholville, NB on June 15, 1929, he was a son of the late Abraham and Josephine (Pareut) Dugas.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by six sons: Ab of Pennfield; Gerald (Karen) of Pennfield; Roger (Debbie) of St. Stephen; David (Cathy) of Blacks Harbour; Charles (Bethany) of Hampton and Darren (Lisa) of Blacks Harbour; two daughters, Marilyn Stuart of Blacks Harbour and Ann (Tony) Brownlow of Blacks Harbour; 17 grandchildren: Julie, Jennifer, Chris, Sherri, Justin, Danielle, Donna, Krista, Mark, Mandy, Trent, Shayla, Kody, Brittany, Jeffrey, Jessica, and Victoria; five great grandchildren: Hannah, Karlee, Brent, Dillon and Kali; one brother, Alonzo Dugas of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Leo; two brothers, Alfred and Richard and four sisters, Irene Doucette; Georgina Harquail, Maria Savoy and Leontine Boudreau.
Lionel had been employed by Connors Brothers for 46 years as a Stationary Engineer. He was Chief Engineer from 1978 until he retired in 1994. He was an avid walker, enjoyed the outdoors and tinkering around his yard and garage. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533) from where the family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Prayers will be offered on Saturday at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour, NB on Monday at 2 pm followed by interment at the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Olive Elenor Gaudet
Peacefully at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on October 29, 2002, Mrs. Olive Elenor Gaudet, wife of the late Hanford Gaudet and formerly of Pennfield, NB. Born on Deer Island on September 5, 1917, she was a daughter of the late George and Mattie (Johnson) Cooke.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by two sons, David (Lorraine) and Malcolm (Peggy) both of Pennfield; four daughters, Ruth Justason of Waweig, NB; Alberta Wilkinson of Blacks Harbour, NB; Rose Nickerson and companion Doug Floyd of Saint John, NB and Cindy Henderson (Gary) of Fredericton, NB; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Justason, Hazel Mahar and Thelma Chevarie; two brothers, Wesley Cooke (Betty) of Pennfield and Ivan (Joe) Cooke (Carol) of Beaver Harbour; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Allen, Chester and Harvey; three sisters, Bessie Wilcox, Avis Moses and Addie Justason and three great grandchildren, Roddy, Tara and Natasha.
Resting at the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church from where the family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held on Friday, November 1 at 2 PM with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533).

Sadie Pamelia Holt
Sadie Pamelia Holt passed away peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB on October 29, 2002. In her 96th year, Sadie was born in St. George on August 8th, 1906, the daughter of Harry and Gertrude (Noble) Lee. She married Leroy Mitchell Holt of Bocabec, NB who predeceased her in 1957. She is survived by two sons, Donnie Holt and wife Carolyn of St. George, NB; Angus Holt and wife Betty of Saint John, NB; one daughter, Helen (Holt) Mowatt and husband Carl of Augusta, Maine; six grandchildren, Jeff Holt and wife, Gladys, Pammie Holt, Robert Holt, Coleen Holt, Carla Mowatt, Andrea Mowatt-Greene and husband Ken; three great grandchildren, Nathan, Jessica and Mallory Holt; one sister, Marion Price and one brother, Jed Lee and wife Myrtle and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Everett and two sisters, Louise and Celia.
She was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother and was loved by many friends and family, including her extended family at Fundy Hospital Nursing Home.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533) with visiting on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Friday at 11 am with Rev. Canon David Genge officiating, followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Sadie's memory, donations to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Harley Ivan Townes
May 3, 1934 - October 28, 2002
Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on October 28, 2002, Mr. Harley Ivan Townes of 11 Meadow Lane, Blacks Harbour, NB husband of Ruth (Patterson) Townes. Born in Honeydale on May 3, 1934, he was a son of the late Edgar and Berla (McLaughlin) Townes. A loving husband, he is survived by his wife, Ruth; one son, Duane of Hamilton, On; four daughters, Darlene Halliday (Mike) of Hamilton, ON.; Caroline Tardif (Robert) of Hamilton, On; Cynthia Thomson of Hoyt, NB and Lisa Harrison (Kevin) of Norwich, On; 10 grandchildren; two step-daughters, Kimberly Gowan (Carson) of Blacks Harbour and Lisa Freeman (Daniel) of Saint John; two brothers, Fred (Freda) Townes of Lawrence Station and Michael (Barb)Townes of Hamilton, Ontario; two sisters, Winnie McLaughlin (Charlie) of St. Stephen and Caroline McLaughlin of Lawrence Station; one aunt, Bessie Corning of St. George; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harley served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a ground crew mechanic. Before retiring, he was employed by Defasco Steel in Ontario. He enjoyed carving and woodworking. He was a member of the RCAF Association and the Fundy Tide Seniors.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533) from where the family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 2 pm with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating. For those who wish, donations to the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Clayton Lockhart Brown
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 15, 2003, Mr. Clayton Lockhart Brown of Black’s Harbour, husband of Rebecca (Bradley ) Brown. Born in Arthurette, N.B. on October 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Harry Brown and Greta (Lockhart) Brown. Surviving in addition to his wife Constance are three daughters: Krista (Kyle) Beaudry of St. George, N.B., Tina Brown (Bobby McCullough) of St. Stephen, and (Lisa) Margaret (Douglas) (Stuart) of Pennfield, six grandchildren: Joey, Lynnsi, Evan, Jazmyn, Sarah, and Aime, two brothers: Leonard Brown, of Woodstock, and Douglas (Mona) Brown of Chipman, one sister: Beth (Gerry) Cray of Maine, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter Katrina Lynn, a brother Willis, and a sister Ann. Mr. Brown was a loving husband, father, grandfather who also loved to sing country and gospel music. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed working in the woods. He was a member of the Family Worship Center.
Resting at the Family Worship Center, 89 Mount Pleasant Road, Upper Letang, N.B. from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2003 at 2 p.m.
Visiting at the Family Worship Center on Thursday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or the N.B. Lung Association would be appreciated by his family. Arrangements under the care and direction of the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, 755-3533.

Mrs. Elizabeth Clark
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital on January 26, 2003 with her family at her side, Mrs. Elizabeth (McNichol) (Norman) Clark, wife of the late Chester Charles Norman and the late Garnett St. Clair Clark of St. George. Born in Beaver Harbour, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Mae (Shaw) and John Colby McNichol. She is survived by one son: Chester (Sonny) Norman and his wife Sylvia of St. Stephen, two daughters: Leona (Norman) Seamans and Marguerite (Norman) Wentworth all of St. George, two step-sons: Michael Clark of Saint John, and Floyd Clark of Ottawa, one sister: Isabelle (Arnold) Hatt of Lake Utopia, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one stepson David, one brother John McNichol, and one sister Leora Hatt. Mrs. Clark lived most of her life in St. George and was a member of St. George Baptist Church.
By her request there is no visitation at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. George United Baptist Church on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, or the Charlotte County Palliative Care would be appreciated by her family. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, 755-3533.

Avis Florilda Lambert
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 16, 2003, Mrs. Avis F. Lambert, wife of Blair S. Lambert of Lambertville, N.B. Born in Leonardville, Deer Island on March 22, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Villa (Wallace) Conley and William Conley. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband Blair, three daughters: Andrea (Richard) Lambert of Lambertville, Lana (Gregory) Eaton of Ajax, Ontario, and Cheryl (Gordon) Lawrence of Fredericton, five grandchildren: Cara (Gary) Smith of Saint John, Shelley (Tony) Henry of Rothesay, Lana (Glen) Hawkins of St. George, Joanna (Jon) Thompson of Ajax, Ont. and Matthew Eaton; four great-grandchildren: Brandon and Justin Henry, Blair and Connor Hawkins, two brothers: William (Mabel) Conley of St. Stephen, and Hollis (Sophie) Conley of Hampton, one sister: Genevieve Sellars of Pennfield, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Lambert was a member of the O.E.S. #43 Deer Island West Isles. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.
Resting at the Lambert’s Cove United Baptist Church from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 2 p.m., followed by interment in Fairhaven Community Cemetery. Visiting will take place at Lambert’s Cove United Baptist Church on Friday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family. Arrangements under the care and direction of the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, 755-3533.

James William McIntyre
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 15, 2003, Mr. James William McIntyre husband of Belva Mildred (Hawkins) McIntyre of Beaver Harbour. Born in McAdam, N.B. on May 6, 1943 he was the son of the late Beatrice V. (Trecartain) McIntyre and William Ronald McIntyre. A loving husband, father, and grandfather he is survived by his wife Belva, two sons: David (Angie) McIntyre of Black’s Harbour, and Darren McIntyre of Madison, Conn., one daughter: Angela (Terry) Acton of Pennfield, four grandsons: Travis, Shane, Brett, J.D. (James David), two sisters: Connie Stevens, Hamilton, and Margaret (Fred) McIntyre of Hamilton, one brother: Donald (Susan) McIntyre of Perth-Andover, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a special uncle Hayes Tracy. Mr. McIntyre was an avid photographer and computer enthusiast. He enjoyed hanging out at Randy’s and the Milk Mart as well as being an avid fan of the Saint John Flames. He was a former member of the Eastern Charlotte Lions Club.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage St., St. George (755-3533) where visiting will take place on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral service will be on Sunday, January 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. from Calvary Baptist Church, Black’s Harbour. Donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
