Pearl Elsie McKillop
1922-2009
At the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on September 18, 2009, Mrs. Pearl Elsie (Woodbury) McKillop, wife of the late Mr. Donald M. McKillop formerly of Utopia NB. Born at Lake Utopia on February 3, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Amy (White) Woodbury. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by two sons; Donald McKillop of Utopia NB and Rufus (Cheryl) McKillop of Harvey NB, three daughters; Roberta Dyer of Oakville ON, Pearl “Janet” Russell and Amy (Roger) Shevalier both of Erin ON, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one sister; Muriel E. Justason of St. George NB, two nieces; and several cousins. In addition to her husband Donald, she was predeceased by one brother, Frederick Woodbury, one grandson, Steven Russell and by one son in law, Arthur Dyer.
Prior to her retirement, Pearl worked with NB Tel for many years, retiring in the position of Assistant Chief - Operator. She loved blueberrying and was a member of Christ Church (Anglican) in Pennfield NB where she served on vestry and as a Sunday school teacher. Pearl was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Keith Osborne officiating followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Pearl’s memory, donations made to Christ Church (Anglican) or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.

Hilda Marie Christie
1918-2009
Unexpectedly at her home, at Utopia NB on September 16th, 2009, Mrs. Hilda Marie (Hatt) Christie, wife of the late Arthur M. Christie. Born at Lake Utopia NB on May 21, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Wellington and Ethel (Anderson) Hatt. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by one daughter, Linda (Mel) Mawhinney of Saint John NB, one son, Ronald (Mary) Christie of Fredericton NB, two granddaughters; Sonia (Jeff) Legere of Grand Bay-Westfield NB, and Sarah (Clayton) McNally of Fredericton, two great grandchildren; Laura Legere and Benjamin McNally, two sisters; Alice (Alonzo) Hall of St. George NB and Marjorie (Malcolm) Moses of Blacks Harbour NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Hilda was predeceased by one grandson, Benjamin Christie, three brothers; Arnold, Aubrey and Sherman, and by three sisters; Pearl McHugh, Edith Kelson and Laura Christie.
Hilda was a career home person, who loved working in and around her home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the OES Granite Chapter # 15, St. George, and the St. George Baptist Church.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and on Friday from 10 am until Noon. The service will be held at the St. George Baptist Church on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Perry Hanley and Rev. Darren Millett officiating, followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society and the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. There will be an OES tribute service held at the funeral home on Thursday at 6 pm.

Rev. Canon David Genge
1929-2009
Rev. Canon David Genge passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on August 12, 2009 in his 81st year. Born at St. John’s NFLD, he was educated at Bishop Field College, Dalhousie University, Memorial University from where he lectured in Physics for some time and finally studied at Bishops University where he received his masters in Theology. He attended classes for the priesthood at Queen’s College NFLD and served in parishes in Newfoundland, Quebec and New Brunswick. He also worked with the Canadian Bible Society in Newfoundland. In his younger years he enjoyed playing Soccer and is a member of the Newfoundland Tennis Hall of Fame. Since retirement he remained active, filling in at several vacant parishes and was an active member of the Kiwawis Club and the Elizabeth Fry Society. He leaves to mourn his wife Joan (Woolridge) Genge, son Peter (Ngaire) and grandson Michael, daughters Heather (David) Bertin and Joanne Genge, his three remaining brothers, Anthony, Bruce and Bishop Mark (Maxine) Genge, as well as a large circle of relations and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Nelson and by his grandson, David Edward Genge.
Following cremation there will be visiting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Saturday from 2-9 pm with a service to celebrate his life at Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield NB on Sunday at 4:30 pm followed by interment at the chruch cemetery. Following the interment, there will be a reception at the Pennfield Lions Club. The family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit, Fllor 3BN at the SJRH as well as the many friends who volunteered to stay with David when needed. The family requests that in Rev. Canon Genge’s memory, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mary Eileen O'Brien
1937-2009
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on August 6, 2009, Ms. Mary Eileen O’Brien of Pennfield, NB. Born at St. Stephen, NB on January 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Hawkins) O’Brien. She was predeceased by a brother, the late Robert O’Brien. Survived by one aunt, Mrs. Arthur (Lois) Hawkins and cousins Paul (Wendy) Hawkins, Beecher (Joyce) Hawkins, Roger (Pam) Hawkins and Stuart (Dianne) Hawkins of Pennfield, Karen (Ellis) Hawkins and Dwight (Jaye) Hawkins of Fredericton, Stephen Hawkins of Glens Falls, NY, Jane (Norm) McIntyre of Cambridge, ON, Edith (Tom) Blacklock of Point Claire, PQ, Susie (Wayne) Langley of Toronto, ON, Carole Hawkins and Barrie Hawkins of Richmond Hill, ON.
Mary grew up in Pennfield and graduated from the Eastern Charlotte Regional School (St. George NB) in 1955; and from Acadia University (Wolfville NS) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1958. Her employment career took her to Montréal QB, Calgary AB and Fredericton NB. She retired in 1995 from her position with the federal government as project officer with the Canada Employment Centre under Human Resources Development Canada (Fredericton, NB). Mary had a good sense of humour, was a voracious reader and a lover of cats. She is survived by her loyal cat “Jake.”
A memorial service will be held at the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Sunday, September 6 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be at 1:30 PM prior to the service.

Joseph George "Graham" Richardson
1931-2009
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on August 5, 2009, Mr. Joseph George “Graham” Richardson, husband of Mrs. Edith Irma (Seamans) Richardson of Canal NB passed away suddenly following three months of hospitalization. Born at Atholville NB on October 10, 1931, he was a son of the late Frances and Alice (Graham) Richardson. A loving husband and brother, in addition to his wife Edith, he is survived by one brother, Allison Richardson of Campbellton NB, one sister, Betty Ann Brooks of Labrador City NFLD and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Carl Richardson.
Graham was a Pipe Fitter by trade having worked with many projects in both New Brunswick and Quebec. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 213 for many years. He was fluently bilingual and had served with the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 17 and was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his pipe fitting trade, he worked as a Chemical Technologist in the pulp and paper industry for several years. Graham had an interest in history and politics and at one time he ran for the NDP candidate in the local riding. Graham was a committed member of St. Marks Anglican Church in St. George. In later years, he and his wife Edith enjoyed several trips abroad to South Korea with the War Veterans and to England and the Philippines with Christian Missions.
At Graham’s request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A memorial service will be celebrated from St. Marks Anglican Church, St. George NB on Saturday at 2 pm followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Graham’s memory, donations to the St. Marks Anglican Church Rebuilding Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Myrtle Mae Deveau
1931-2010
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB surrounded by her family, on August 3, 2010. Mrs. Myrtle Mae (Watson) Deveau, wife of the late Mr. Lester J. Deveau of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Blacks Harbour on April 9, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Clara (Gaudett) Watson. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by two daughters; Cheryl (Ronald) McVicar of Caithness NB and Joyce (Beecher) Hawkins of Pennfield NB, two sons; Harold Deveau and Roger (Kelly) Deveau all of Blacks Harbour, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sisters; Mary “Mayme” Doyle of Miramichi NB and Mabel “Mae” Conley of St. Stephen NB, one aunt, Catherine Guptil of Alberta and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Mary Watson.
Prior to her retirement, Myrtle worked as a packer for Connors Bros before going to work as a custodian for the NB Department of Education. She was employed at the Blacks Harbour School, along with her husband Lester, for more than 20 years. She loved knitting, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles and was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed music and loved playing the spoons. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Friday at 11 am with Father Brian Wetmore officiating, followed by the interment at the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Cemetery, Blacks Harbour NB. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Thursday from 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Myrtles memory to the Charlotte County Hospital Palliative Care or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Murray Lincoln Blagden
1945-2010
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB, on July 31, 2010, following a lengthy illness, Mr. Murray Lincoln Blagden, husband of Mrs. Carolyn (Nice) Blagden, beloved wife of 45 years of Utopia NB. Born at Saint John NB on September 12, 1945, he was a son of the late John C. and Margaret E. (Burley) Blagden. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by two daughters; Ellen Blagden of Pennfield NB and Charlene (Robert) Lord and their children, Kaylee and Tonya Lord of Utopia NB, his sister, Sharon Blagden of Saint John NB, his brother, Phillip Blagden of Musquash NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Ellen Vera Blagden.
For several years, Murray was a Pipefitter/Welder by trade and was a member of the Plumbers and Piperfitters Union Local #213. He was a former employee of the Irving Pulp and Paper and the Irving Oil Refinery both in Saint John, Lake Utopia Pulp and Paper and Comstock. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, ice fishing and four wheeling. In the winter months he enjoyed Curling and was a former member of the St. George Curling Club and of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69, Saint John NB. Murray was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Resting at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. George NB from where the service will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Mary Anne Langmaid officiating, followed by the interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Sunday from 7-9 pm and on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Murray’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, St. Mark’s Anglican Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB
