She was predeceased by her daughter Christine in 1988 and husband Stefan in 1996. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and neighbours. Interment to follow, beside her loving husband and daughter in Holy Ghost Cemetery. God looked around His garden, And found an empty space, He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, And lifted you to rest, God's garden must be beautiful He takes only the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered, "Peace be thine" It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. ELLEN McINNES

June 25, 2004

ELLEN McINNES It is with sorrow in our hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Ellen who left us suddenly on June 21, 2004. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Tom in July 1996 and her daughter-in-law Mae Li Fong in April 2004. She is survived and remembered by her loving children, Edith (Bob) and daughter Christine (Chris), Bryan and daughter Morgan (Jeff), Lyle (Tony) and Neil (Cathy). Mom was a caring person whose dedication and love to her husband Tom and children was the centre of her life. Her single-mindedness and independence after the death of our father and her husband Tom on July 1, 1996 was an inspiration to us all. She had a challenging life as a child and teenager. Through marriage and a family she made many sacrifices by putting others first. She once remarked that she truly believed that without her family she would never have experienced true happiness. She loved life and was very active with watercolor painting, bowling, golf and her Unity Church. She had a passion for reading and the movies. Many happy days were spent at the cottage that dad built at Bird Lake. Through the initiative of Lyle, her beloved daughter; they both started a food bank extension of Winnipeg Harvest at St. Patrick's and St. Jude's Church in Winnipeg's West end. Without her there is a void that can now never be filled. We find strength from her love and she will continue to be our guiding spirit. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Unity Truth Centre, 300 Arlington St. Donations in Ellen's memory may be made to Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0S2 or the Unity Truth Centre, 300 Arlington St., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 1Y9.
