RICHARD J. "DICK" BOYARSKI

Mr. Boyarski, 76, a Colorado Springs resident, died June 12, 2001, in Monmouth, Ore. He was a retired businessman. He served in the Army Counter Intelligence Corps from 1944 to 1948. He served in the Philippines during World War II and earned a field commission.

Mr. Boyarski was born May 27, 1925, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to William Boyarski and Mary Mollett, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 31, 1946, to Luisa Coromina.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Daniel, Patrick, Gerard and David; two daughters, Mary and Kathleen; three sisters, Mildred, Dorothy and Margaret; and 12 grandchildren.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, 11020 Teachout Road, Black Forest. A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church Building Fund, 11020 Teachout Road, Black Forest 80908.

MARTHA "DEDE" DAVIS BARE

Mrs. Bare, 49, died June 17, 2001, at a local hospital of heart failure after a long illness. She was a loving wife and mother.

Mrs. Bare was born Jan. 1, 1952, in Washington, D.C., to Edward P. and Elizabeth (Van Vranken) Davis. She was married Aug. 20, 1976, to Harold F. Bare Jr.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Mark Davis Bare; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bare; her parents; two brothers, Edward V. Davis and Ralph W. Davis; and a sister, Lois M. Davis.

A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4050 Nonchalant Circle South. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. July 2 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah College, One College Way, Grantham, PA 17027.

MARGARET CATHERINE (JENSEN) HILL

Mrs. Hill, 93, a former Colorado Springs resident, died June 2, 2001, in Brea, Calif. She was a retired homemaker.

Mrs. Hill was born June 1, 1908, in Austin, Minn., to Rasmina Skifter and William Jensen, who are deceased. She was married June 16, 1935, to Lester Brian Hill, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Donald; a daughter, Jane; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannette Skifter (Jensen) Blanc.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Alterra, 285 W. Central Ave., Brea. Neels Mortuary, Brea, (714) 529-2194, is handling arrangements.

TODD MICHAEL STAFSHOLT

Mr. Stafsholt, 35, died June 17, 2001, at a local care center. He was a computer engineer. He was owner and operator of Mountain High Consulting.

Mr. Stafsholt was born Aug. 20, 1965, in Eau Claire, Wis. He was married Aug. 14. 1987, to Peggy Brown.

He is survived by his wife; three children, Molly, Tyler and Hans; his parents, John and Veronica Card; and two sisters, Tamara Cveykus and Melissa Chronquist.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at World Prayer Center at New Life Church, 11005 Highway 83 North. Inurnment will be private. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597, is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stafsholt Family Memorial Fund in care of New Life Church, 11025 Highway 83 North, Colorado Springs 80921.

RICHARD LEE FRITZ JR.

Mr. Fritz, 28, died June 17, 2001, at a local hospital. He was self-employed and served in the Army for eight years.

Mr. Fritz was born Feb. 12, 1973, in Reading, Pa., to Richard Lee Sr. and Joyce Ann Fritz. He was married Sept. 22, 1995, to Tammy L. Mayfield.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Cole and Christian; his father; his mother; a brother, Bryan; and his grandmother, Ethel Hazelton.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, 390-4906. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Soldiers Memorial Chapel, Fort Carson. Inurnment is planned. Colorado Springs Mortuary and Cremation Services, 3475 Astrozon Court, 392-4144, is handling arrangements.

LESLIE FRASER GARRETT

Mr. Garrett, 85, died June 18, 2001, in Colorado Springs. He retired as lieutenant colonel from the Air Force after more than 20 years of service.

Mr. Garrett was born Dec. 20, 1915, in El Dorado, Ark., to Arley N. and Flora (Fraser) Garrett, who are deceased. He was married June 15, 1945, to Marilyn Wertheim, who is deceased.

He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl G. Disque; a sister, Vivian Nix; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Wallace; a brother, Lawrence; and a sister, Ruth Irby.

No local services will be held. Burial will be in Lakeland, Fla. Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900, is handling local arrangements.

HAZEL M. SHACKELFORD

Hazel, 90, died June 16, 2001, at a local hospital after a short illness. She was a homemaker.

Hazel was born Sept. 17, 1910, in Nodaway County, Mo., to Charley West and Beulah Henry, who are deceased.

She is survived by a son, Charles G.; a daughter, Helen L. Montoya; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road.

JESSE CUTIS JAMES

Mr. James, 61, a Colorado Springs resident, died June 14, 2001, in Everett, Wash. He was a production control manager and served in the Air Force.

Mr. James was born April 4, 1940, in Pueblo to Cutis and Geraldine James. His father is deceased. He was married Aug. 25, 1990, to Pamela Fox.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Ken; a daughter, Terri; a stepdaughter, Michelle Jipner; his mother; a brother, Jerry St. James; a sister, Judy Latham; and a grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gardner Fellowship Hall, Main St., Gardner. Cremation is planned. Boies-Ortega Funeral Home, 115 E. Fifth St., Walsenburg, (719) 738-2152, is handling arrangements.

ERNEST LEE AUGUSTENBORG

Mr. Augustenborg, 69, died June 15, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He served as an electrical engineer in the Air Force for 20 years.

Mr. Augustenborg was born July 5, 1931, in Brawley, Calif., to Andrew Augustenborg and Mildred Allred, who are deceased. He was married to Helen Ortner.

He is survived by his wife; five sons, Ken, Dan, Gary, John and Steve; a daughter, Mary Ritza; a stepbrother, John; and 12 grandchildren.

A rosary will be at 2:30 p.m. today with services at 3 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N. Cascade Ave. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver. Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., 475-8303, is handling arrangements.

KENNETH PAUL "KENNY" FULTON

Mr. Fulton, 55, died June 16, 2001, in Ellicott. He was an over-the-road truck driver and served in the Army.

Mr. Fulton was born May 3, 1946, in Albion, N.Y. He was married Aug. 30, 1999, to Janice "Jan" Carver.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Marc, David, Rick and Tony; a daughter, Meri; his mother, Marilyn Bradt; a brother, Arthur Bradt; a sister, Marietta Fulks; and 13 grandchildren.

Private services are planned. Cappadona’s Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling arrangements.

JOSE DAMIAN QUIROZ RIVERA

Mr. Rivera, 18, died June 16, 2001, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a drywaller.

Mr. Rivera was born May 8, 1983, in Zacatecas, Mexico.

He is survived by his mother, Antonia Rivera, of Mexico; his stepfather, Leobardo Santiago; two brothers, Juan Jose and Manuel; a sister, Victoria Santiago, of Mexico; his grandmother, Guadalupe Mena, of Mexico; and his grandfather, Carlos Rivera, of Mexico.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Thursday with a funeral service at 3 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road, 391-1918.

ELIZABETH LYNN (RAY) HUMPHREY

Mrs. Humphrey, 65, died June 13, 2001, at her home in Black Forest. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Humphrey was born May 4, 1936, in Tampa, Fla., to Edgar M. and Maidee (Smith) Ray, who are deceased. She was married to Richard Humphrey, who is deceased.

She is survived by a son, Bruce Brusenhan, of Peyton.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eastonville Cemetery, 12558 Meridian Road, Elbert. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

ROBERT L. WENZEL

Mr. Wenzel, 74, died June 17, 2001, in Colorado Springs of cancer. He retired as a PBX installer from the Lincoln Telephone Co. in Lincoln, Neb., after 39 years. He served in Korea and World War II for three years in the Army Signal Corps.

Mr. Wenzel was born March 15, 1927, in Beatrice, Neb., to Lester and Iva (Branstetter) Wenzel, who are deceased. He was married Nov. 3, 1951, to Carole Scott.

He is survived by his wife; a son, David R.; a daughter, Jean M. Malcolm; two brothers, Joe and Harold; a grandson; and five granddaughters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mountain View Mortuary, 2350 Montebello Square Drive, 590-8922. A private inurnment will be in Nebraska.
