William K. Bondurant

William K. Bondurant, 80, died May 6, 2004, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 9, 1924, in Salida, to Webster E. and Myrtle (Brenton) Bondurant.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, wood working and spending time with his family.
Mr. Bondurant served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Aileen Wood Oct. 11, 1947, in Salida.
He worked for many years at the Buena Vista Correctional Facility as a lead worker.
Mr. Bondurant was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and Victor Bondurant.
He is survived by his wife, Aileen Bondurant, Salida; sons, Mike (Patti) Bondurant, Salida; Kenneth (Brigitte) Bondurant, Loveland and Gary (Vicki) Bondurant, Evergreen; daughters, Carol (Kendell) Kerrigan, Howard and Joyce (Lon) Putnam, Fairbanks, Alaska; brother, Omer Bondurant, Redmond, Calif. and sister, Emma Hoskins, Brawley, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1-4 p.m. today at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends who desire may make memorial contributions to St. Joseph Helping Hands or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial for William K. Bondurant was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Fr. Henry Grodecki CM officiated the service. The soloist was Jennifer Hammond and the organist was DiAnn Bourget.
Musical selections were “Prayer Of St. Francis,” “Let There Be Peace On Earth,” “On Eagles’ Wings” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Pallbearers were Michael Lee Bondurant, Bennett Jones, Kenneth Jones, Alex Price, Jeff Wood and Danny Wood.
Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

April Marie Tanner Wheeler

April Marie Tanner Wheeler
April Marie Tanner Wheeler, 25, died May 3, 2004, at her home in Salida.
She was born April 18, 1979, in Denver.
Mrs. Wheeler loved her children, Nadia and Izan.
She loved to dance, play pool and to be with her friends and family.
Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her husband, Mathew Wheeler and her children, Nadia and Izan of Salida; parents, Greg and Roberta Tanner, Salida; mother, Brenda Arko, Denver; special mom, Vicki Cole, Moffat; brothers, Andy, Tony, Daniel, Adam and John; sister, Andrea Horn; nephew, Christian and niece, Tori Horn; grandparents, Marianne Tanner, Denver and Glen and Barbara Arko, Castle Rock and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home, 203 E. Sackett Ave. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends who desire may make memorial contributions to April Tanner Wheeler Memorial fund through High Country Bank’s downtown branch, 130 W. Second St., Salida, CO 81201.

Fred C. Lesmeister

Fred C. Lesmeister, 66, died May 6, 2004, in Cañon City.
He was born May 9, 1937, in Halliday, N.D., as son of the late Stephen and Eva Maria (Gearhart) Lesmeister.
He married Virgene Anderson, who survives at the family home.
Mr. Lesmeister was a former member of the Eagles Lodge of Leadville and Past President of OCAW-224410 of Climax.
He was Catholic by faith.
Mr. Lesmeister loved to work on vehicles and woodworking.
He is also survived by his children, Anthony Duane (Susana) Lesmeister, William Joseph Lesmeister, Gina Lana Dare and Mary Ann Lesmeister; grandchildren, Jonathan Cline, Christopher Lesmeister Sharpe and Erica Lesmeister Sharpe; brothers, Leo (Gerry) Lesmeister and William Lesmeister; sisters, Katherine Odermann, Irene (Joe) Hartman, Marcel (Ralph) Hartman and Bernice Lesmeister; sister-in-law, Sharon (Edward) Smith; brother-in-law, Ronald (Barbara) Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lesmeister was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Anthony and Harry.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Catholic Cemetery in Leadville.
Arrangements are through Holt Family Funeral Home, Cañon City.
Alessandra Rae Vigil

Alessandra Rae Vigil

Alessandra Rae Vigil died Thursday morning in Fort Collins from complications following an asthma attack.
The 2003 Salida High School graduate was a freshman student at Colorado State University.
She is the daughter of Andrew and Vickie Sue Vigil of Salida, and the sister of Abran and Aaron Vigil.
Services are pending. A complete obituary will be published in Monday’s Mountain Mail.

Linda M. Fehling

Linda M. Fehling, 63, Howard, died May 5, 2004, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Salida.
She was born Jan. 23, 1941, in Adair, Iowa, to Frank and Mary (McDonnell) Ward.
She married Lawrence Fehling Dec. 26, 1975, in Denver.
Mrs. Fehling and her husband moved to Howard in 1995 from Arvada.
She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Get Together Club.
Mrs. Fehling worked for Equifax as a credit examiner for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Fehling is survived by her husband, Lawrence Fehling of Howard; brothers, Eugene (Crystal) Ward, McCook, Neb.; Francis (Joyce) Ward, Iowa City, Iowa and Byron (Joan) Ward, Marshville, N.C. and many nieces and nephews.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial is set for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Adair, Iowa, at a later date.
Friends who desire may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Linda Fehling

Mass of the Christian Burial for Linda Fehling was held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Musical selections were “I Know My Redeemer Lives,” “Jerusalem My Happy Home,” “On Eagles’ Wings” and “You Are Mine.”
Pallbearers were Luke Ward, Rudy Torres, Ben Torres, Ramon Torres, Bob Goos and John Krizmanich.
Honorary pallbearers were Francis Ward and Bob Chovanec.
Interment will be Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Adair, Iowa.
Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Goldie Norene Davidoff

Goldie Norene Davidoff, 70, long-time Salida resident, died March 13, 2004, at her residence in Salida.
Mrs. Davidoff was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Bixby, Okla., to John Lee and Ruth L. Jackson.
She married David Davidoff April 11, 1952.
Mrs. Davidoff was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Salida Hospital Auxiliary, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and the Sons of Italy. She was a past volunteer for Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Thelma McCullough, Jewel Jackson, Verdice Wilcox, Maxine Gibson and Beatrice Spradline.
Mrs. Davidoff is survived by her husband, David Davidoff, Salida; son, Rick (Sandi) Davidoff, Golden and daughter, Pamela (Jeff) Taylor, Billings, Mont; mother-in-law, Yolanda Spino, Salida; brothers, David Jackson and J.L. Jackson and sister, Nadine Sweet; grandchildren, Chato and Jake Davidoff and Tony and Nicki Taylor and by many other friends and family.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends who desire may make memorial contributions to the Angel of Shavano Hospice or Salida Hospital Auxiliary.
Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Goldie Norene Davidoff

Funeral services for Goldie Norene Davidoff were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Mike Orrill officiated. The organist was Frank Lanaghan and the soloist was Jeanne Kostelic.
Musical selections were “One Day At A Time,” “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Pallbearers were Chato Davidoff, Jake Davidoff, David Jackson, Ken Baker, John Spino and Pete Davidoff.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Morminello, Dr. Vic Veltri, Ralph Coscarella, Dr. William Mehos and Tony Taylor.
Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
