A memorial service for Bryan J. Welter was held at 5 p.m. Jan. 21, 2005, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
Rev. Chris Clarkson officiated. Memories were shared by many friends and relatives who attended.
Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Herbert “Bert” Keele

Funeral services for Herbert “Bert” Keele were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7, 2005, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
Rev. Rick Casteel officiated. Donnie Duncan was guitarist and vocalist.
Musical selections were “Heaven Is Sounding Sweeter” and “Life’s Railway To Heaven.”
Interment was in the Howard Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Elizabeth C. Kellagher

Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth C. Kellagher was held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 4, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Fr. Henry Grodecki, C.M. was the celebrant. Musicians were DiAnn Bourget and Jennifer Hammond. Musical selections were “My Wild Irish Rose,” “Here I Am, Lord,” “On This Day, Oh Beautiful Mother,” “Ave Maria” and “Hail Holy Queen.”
Honorary Paul Bearers were Richard L. Platz, Richard J. Platz, Ryan Platz, Jacob Platz, Richard Smith and Volney LaBaron.
Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Denver Feb. 7, 2005, at 1:30 p.m.
Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Patricia Lou Strosnider

Patricia Lou Strosnider, 70, a lifelong Colorado resident, died Nov. 23, 2004, at Heart of the Rockies Medical Center in Salida.
She was born Dec. 13, 1933 in Denver to Fern and Bus Carpenter.
Mrs. Strosnider and her husband of 51 years, Lester, moved to Coaldale in July 1998 from Broomfield. She was a member of Christian Women’s Club and Coaldale Valley Club.
Mrs. Strosnider will be remembered by the dignity and humor with which she lived after a crippling stroke nearly a decade earlier that left her unable to swallow or speak clearly.
She was inspirational in several stroke survivor groups, often commenting that her difficulty in communicating freed her to truly listen to people.
Survivors include her husband, Les, Coaldale; daughter, Debi Stone, Salida; son, David (Patty) Strosnider, Coaldale; grandchildren, Andrew and Tyler Strosnider, Coaldale; Mandee Stone, Cañon City and Tony (Chandra) Hornsby, Westminster and great-granddaughter, Magdalyn, Westminster.
Her father, mother, and brother, Keith, preceded her in death.
She attended Boulder High School and remained lifelong friends with many classmates.
Mrs. Strosnider will be cremated following a service in Denver. Local services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 1 at the Cotopaxi Community Church, 20326 U.S. 50.
Donations can be made to the Cotopaxi Church in her memory.
The family wants to thank the staff at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical center for their exceptional care and sensitivity.

Allan E. Dodson

Allan E. Dodson, fifth child of 11 born to Charles W. and Etta G. Warner Dodson, was born May 20, 1930, in Gosper County, Neb. He passed away Nov. 22, 2004, at age 74.
Mr. Dodson grew up in rural Nebraska, attending country schools. At age 12 he went to work in agriculture. In January 1951, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in the Korean War, earning the rank of corporal.
After returning to his home town of Holdredge, Neb., he married Dolores M. Hambidge March 7, 1953.
They had two children, Arlan and Annette.
During the next 15 years, the family lived in Arapahoe, Neb., Fairplay and Holbrook, Neb. In 1969 they moved permanently to Colorado.
His occupations included a custom hay operation, ranching and becoming road and bridge administrator for Park County. In 1994, Mr. Dodson and his wife, Dolores, retired to Nathrop.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, two children, son Arlan (Fran) Dodson and daughter, Annette (Ron) Knotts; five grandchildren, Brad, Patti, Travis, Caleb, Patience and three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kane and Owen.
He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Viewing will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends who so desire to make memorial contributions to the Seeing Eye Foundation or the National Veterans Administration through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Ann Elizabeth Shine

Mass of Christian Burial for Ann Elizabeth Shine was held at 10 a.m. Nov. 20, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Fr. Henry Grodecki CM officiated. Organist was Di Ann Bourget and soloist was Jennifer Hammond.
Musical selections were “Jerusalem My Happy Home,” “The King Of Love, My Shepherd Is,” “On Eagles Wings” and “Praise The Lord, Ye Heavens.”
Pallbearers were J. Zachary Andrews, Gary Andrews, Mike Goodwin, Gary Watts and Adolph Floryancic, Jr.
Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Dorothy Ticen Flinn

Dorothy Ticen Flinn, 83, Salida, died Feb. 16, 2005, at Columbine Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs Flinn was born Jan. 19, 1922, in La Junta to Otis and Irene (Dwyer) Ticen. She married Ivan Flinn Jan. 21,1941, in Raton, N.M.
She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church. She loved the mountains.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Flinn, Salida; daughters, Verna Lee Shriver of Lakeside, Calif. and Laurie Haberthier of Northglenn; sons, Ivan Flinn, Jr. of Fountain Valley, Calif.; Patrick Flinn of Houston, Texas and Richard Flinn of Broomfield; sister, Doris Ticen Hougton of La Junta; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Flinn was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Flinn and a brother, Byron Ticen.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 19, 2005, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
Interment of her cremains will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 21, 2005, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Columbine Manor activities fund through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

Frank Parsons

Frank Parsons, 78, a long time Salida resident, died Feb. 12, 2005, at his home in Salida.
Mr. Parsons was born July 8, 1926, in Bloomfield, N.J., to Frank and Estelle (Smith) Parsons.
He was an 18-year member of Salida Elks Lodge No. 808 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 164 and a supporter of Christmas Mountain and the permanent lighting.
Mr Parsons was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughters, Judith Bonass, Salida and Bonnie Parsons, Louisville; sons, Frank E. Parsons, Morrison, Iowa; Thomas Parsons, Salida; Joseph (Maribel) Parsons, Coaldale, Pa.; John (Twila) Parsons, Hotchkiss and Charles (Jeana) Parsons, Sarasota, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Sarah Parsons, mother of his children.
Memorial services are set for 1 p.m. Feb. 18, 2005, at Salida Elks Lodge. Friends who desire may make memorial contributions to the Angel of Shavano Hospice through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

William J. Haley Jr.

William J. Haley Jr., 87, a lifetime Salida resident, died Feb. 13, 2005, at Columbine Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Haley was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Salida to William J. and Hanna (Green) Haley Sr.
He worked as a car inspector for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad for more than 20 years, working at Denver, Gunnison, Minturn and Marshall pass.
He enjoyed leather work and owned a machine shop in Salida where he sharpened blades. He was a member of the Salida High School state champion football team in 1935 and 1936, and was well respected in the Salida area.
Mr. Haley was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harry Haley, Richard Haley and Ralph Haley.
He is survived by his son William Fredrick Haley, Tustin, Calif. and his wife, Kathleen Haley, Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Michelle Marie Haley, Morrisville, N.C.; Jeffrey Patrick Haley, California; Melinda Danielson, Christy Danielson and Jeffery Danielson, all of Phoenix; great-grandchildren, Jessica Catherine Myers, Jonathon William Myers, both of Morrisville, N.C.; Rae Maire Haley, Melinda Lee Haley, Chandler Allen Haley and Kaitlyn Rose Haley, all of California; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Viewing is set for 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Feb. 16, 2005, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Services are set for 1 p.m. Feb. 17, 2005, at Ascension Episcopal Church.
Friends who want to may make memorial contributions to Ascension Episcopal Church through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.

William J. Haley Jr.

Funeral Services for William J. Haley Jr. were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 17, 2005, at Ascension Episcopal Church.
Fr. John Huffman was the celebrant. Pallbearers were William F. Haley, Paul Nelson, Don Jehle, Larry Green, Rich Furton, Jim Preston and Paul Nelson Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were George Oversole, Jeffrey Haley and Michelle Marie Haley.
Interment was at Fairview Cemetery.
Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
