RICHARDS, Bessie Joan (Hopkins)

Jan. 17, 1950 - Sept. 25, 2003

Bessie Joan (Hopkins) Richards died at her Wellington, Colo., home Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003. She was 53.

Richards was born Jan. 17, 1950, in Longmont to Lesta Anna (Karr) Hopkins and Harold Eugene Hopkins. Though raised in Longmont, she also lived in Arizona, Wyoming, Texas, Arkansas and other parts of Colorado.

Richards was a strong believer in her faith and taught her children unconditional love, forgiveness and to be long suffering.

She enjoyed cooking and decorating her home. She was a simple person who enjoyed smelling the roses, going for coffee, taking long drives, camping, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.

Upon returning to Longmont in 2001, she enjoyed volunteering at the Center for People with Disabilities, where she met her spouse, Carlos Jimenez.

Mrs. Richards was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, her children and their spouses, Robin and Jeff Wilcox of Lander, Wyo., Wendy and Richard Williams of Rocksprings, Wyo., Mike and Delsey Guse of Booneville, Ark., Carlos Jimenez III of Thornton, Valerian and Krystina Jimenez of Firestone, Xina and Scott Hoyt of Lucerne, and Brenceis Jimenez of Lucerne; four sisters, Leota Wagers and her husband Earl of Redfeather, Colo., Jane Lyda and her husband Ralph of Huachuca, Ariz., Bonnie Murray and her husband Jim of Loveland, and Jessie and her husband Trent of Fort Collins; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive, Fort Collins, with the Rev. Rick Roeling officiating.

ROSS, Lester W.

Aug. 10, 1955 - Sept. 25, 2003

Lester W. Ross of Longmont died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, the result of a motorcycle accident in rural Weld County. He was 48.

He was born Aug. 10, 1955, to Wayne and Patricia (Clark) Ross in Boulder.

Mr. Ross graduated from Centaurus High School in 1973 and graduated from Colorado State University in 1981. He then moved to Everett, Wash., and moved back to Longmont in 1996.

On July 28, 1981 he married Keri Isernhagen in Everett, Wash.

Mr. Ross was an electrical engineer working for Fluke Industries in Everette, Wash., for 17 years until he moved back to Longmont, working for Carrier Access Corp., of Boulder. He worked for Peaks Industries of Longmont until his death.

Mr. Ross enjoyed building things, skiing, hiking, camping, boating, gardening and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his parents of Longmont; his ex-wife Keri Isernhagen-Ross; his daughters Reilly and Erin; his brother, Logan Ross and his wife Darcy of Longmont; his niece, Delainey of Longmont; his nephew, Logan of Chicago, Ill.; and his girlfriend Teresa Smith.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with Rev. Chad Brand officiating.

Cremation will follow at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont 80501.

SCHMIER, Frank

SCHMIER, Frank, 96, of Longmont, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Boulder Community Hospital.

VAN ANTWERP, Patrick

July 11, 1945 - Sept. 26, 2003

Patrick LeRoy Van Antwerp of Berthoud, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at home from cancer-related complications. He was 58.

He was born July 11, 1945, to Robert and Lillian (Warrick) Van Antwerp in Sioux City, Iowa.

He graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nev.

On July 12, 1966, he married Mary Louise Kinch in Mead.

Mr. Van Antwerp was in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1988, when he retired as a master sergeant. He then worked for the Loveland Fire Department, Gerrity Oil and King Soopers.

He was a member of Mason Lodge 197, past master of Mason Lodge 83, and a member of Columbine Chapter 11 Order of Eastern Star and Lady Bug Clown Alley. He enjoyed fishing and clowning.

Mr. Van Antwerp is survived by his wife of Berthoud; his parents, Robert John Van Antwerp of Rapid City, S.D., and Lillian (Warrick) Van Antwerp of Redding, Calif.; a son, Patrick LeRoy Van Antwerp II; three daughters, DeAnn Angleton and her husband Don of Owasse, Okla., Becky Jones and her husband Allen of Loveland, and Shawna DeVries and her husband Jeff of Loveland; a brother, Michael Van Antwerp and his wife Jan of French Camp, Calif.; three sisters, Debra Clever of Suisun, Calif., Doris Rowe and her husband Wayne of Suisun, Calif., and Dian Sharp of Redding, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 28, and 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Millard E. Fairchild of Mead United Methodist Church officiating.

Cremation will take place after visitation on Monday at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mead United Methodist Church, Longs Peak Lodge 197, Columbine Chapter 11 OES, Lady Bug Clown Alley or Heartland Hospice in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont 80501.

WALKER, Margery May

WALKER, Margery May, of Loveland. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at our chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

WERTH, Delmer

Jan. 16, 1935 - Sept. 27, 2003

Delmer Werth of Loveland died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. He was 68.

He was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Victoria, Kan., to C. F. and Anna Maria (Hertel) Werth. His family moved to Colorado in 1935 where they lived in the Prospect Valley and Longmont areas.

On Dec. 3, 1954, he married Colleen Crawford in Boulder.

Mr. Werth enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard in 1956 and served until 1959. He then entered the U.S. Army and served until May 1960.

He was a plasterer and welder and worked for Yocum Plastering, Goldens Companies now Aggregate Industries for many years before retiring in 2001.

Mr. Werth enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, water skiing, bowling and driving stockcars. He had the ability to make many useful items out of common, everyday items, and was able to construct them from a picture or drawing.

The most important thing to Mr. Werth was his family. It meant a lot to him to have his family together when visiting places and for the holidays.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Werth is survived by his wife; three daughters, Vicki Harding of Shelton, Wash., Rhonda Werth of Loveland and Cathi Hazlett and her husband Wes of Brighton; three brothers, Vern Werth and his wife Winnie of Las Cruces, N.M., Bob Werth and his wife Jo of Berthoud and Larry Werth of Longmont; a sister, Ethel Swigert and her husband Bruce of Arvada; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Howe Mortuary, 436 Coffman St., Longmont.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with Deacon Bob Howard of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church officiating.

Interment will follow the services in Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County, 7604 Colland Drive, Fort Collins 80525.

ANDERSON, Agnes M.F.

ANDERSON, Agnes M.F., 98, of Dacono, passed away Nov. 30, 2003, at Hospice Care of Northern Colorado. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial service to be in January, time and day to be announced later.

BANGLE, Betty (Montgomery)

Dec. 14, 1924 - Feb. 28, 2003

Betty (Montgomery) Bangle of Los Altos, Calif., formerly of Longmont, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, in Los Altos of cancer. She was 78.

Mrs. Bangle was born Dec. 14, 1924, at the hospital in Longmont to Arthur E. and Katie (Howard) Montgomery.

In 1945, she was married in Longmont and then later divorced.

A homemaker, Mrs. Bangle was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

She is survived by a son, Don Bangle of Atlanta; a brother, Don Montgomery; two grandchildren; and various other relatives.

Funeral services were held in Los Altos.

Interment was also in Los Altos.

BUSHLACK, Raymond A.

Sept. 25, 1933 - Nov. 30, 2003

Raymond A. Bushlack of Longmont died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Longmont United Hospital. He was 70.

Mr. Bushlack was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Wells, Minn., to Joseph and Clara (Dulas) Bushlack.

He served in the U.S. Army from April 15, 1954, to April 13, 1956.

On June 16, 1959, he married Rita Killion in Wells.

He moved to Longmont in 1960 from Minnesota.

Mr. Bushlack was a carpenter and worked in commercial construction.

He belonged to the Longmont Moose Lodge No. 1548 and was a 30-year member of Carpenters Union No. 510. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Mr. Bushlack was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene Bushlack; and a sister, Collette Bushlack.

Mr. Bushlack is survived by his wife of Longmont; three sons, Randy Bushlack of Arvada, Rick Bushlack of Longmont and Rob Bushlack and his wife Karen of Lakewood; a daughter, Roxanne Barela and her husband Tony of Mead; three brothers, Vern Bushlack of Rochester, Minn., James Bushlack of New Richland, Minn., and Mark Bushlack of Longmont; a sister, Jane Stenzel of Wells; four grandchildren, Tianna, Ryan and Elisia Bushlack of Longmont and Dillon Bushlack of Lakewood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Morrow of the church officiating.

Interment will be in Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or VNA Hospice at Home, 390 Grant St., Denver 80203.

DeGAETANO, Kristin Temple

Nov. 29, 1959 - Dec. 1, 2003

Kristin (Temple) De Gaetano of Greeley, formerly of Denver, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 44.

Mrs. De Gaetano was born Nov. 29, 1959, in Fort Collins to James Wood and Audrey (Light) Temple. She grew up on the Focus Ranch and in Steamboat Springs, Frisco, Boulder and Colorado Springs. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1977.

She raced with the Vail Ski Club and Vail Ski Team from age 6. In 1983, she graduated magna cum laude in finance from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She earned a law degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1986 where she made the deans list.

On Sept. 27, 1987, she married Marco Hall De Gaetano in Boulder. They made their home in Denver until moving to Greeley in 2003. They adopted a dog and three cats, one of whom Houdini is still living.

Mrs. De Gaetano was self-employed as a legal researcher and writer. She published articles on banking law and lender liability and presented seminars around the country. She also taught paralegalism for the Center for Legal Studies.

She was a longtime member of the First Universalist Church of Denver and recently had attended the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley.

Mrs. De Gaetano will be remembered for being adored by her students.

She is survived by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Jeff Temple and Jamie Temple; and a sister, Lisa Temple, all of Colorado.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Howe Mortuary, Longmont.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at First Universalist Church of Denver.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Weld County, 1620 42nd St., Evans 80620.

DIELEMAN, Ferne Lucille

March 2, 1924 - Dec. 1, 2003

Ferne Lucille Dieleman of Longmont died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at her home after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She was 79.

Mrs. Dieleman was born March 2, 1924, in Manville, Wyo., to Fred and Frankie (Grammar) Kettler. She grew up in Manville and attended Manville High School.

She married Mr. Arthur Amos Art Dieleman on March 11, 1946, in Kansas. The couple moved to Longmont shortly thereafter.

Mrs. Dieleman enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, playing golf and visiting with family and friends.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 18, 2002; and a brother, Jack Kettler.

She is survived by a brother, Freddie Kettler of Wyoming; two sisters, Joy Ray of Montana and Ila Johnson of Wyoming; a sister-in-law, Ruth Dorr of Longmont; four nephews, Kelly, Kim, Bobby and Steve; and a niece, Carol Lee.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Howe Mortuary, Longmont.

Private services will be held at a later date.
