Veronica A. Breault

SOUTHINGTON -- Veronica A. (Kopcza) Breault, 84, of 1919 West St., died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 63 years of Jack Breault.

Born on April 17, 1918, in Southington, the daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes (Pernal) Kopcza. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church and a former member of the church's choir. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was employed by Allied Control and Superior Electric.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Sandra Breault and her fiancé, Paul Giannini and Teddy and her husband, Bob Douglas of Bristol; treasured grandchildren, Arthur D'Agostino and his wife, Michelle, Bobby Douglas and his wife, Tricia; a cherished great-grandson, Andrew John D'Agostino; a brother-in-law, Joseph "Pitt" Breault; two sisters-in-law, Shirley and Margaret; two nephews, Matthew and Philip Kopzca; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to Immaculate Conception Church 10 a.m. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St. Plantsville, CT 06479 or Hospice of Central CT, P.O. Box 1327, New Britain, CT 06505.

Marion Colangelo

WATERBURY -- Mrs. Marion (Affeldt) Colangelo, 78, of 2584 East Main St., Waterbury, widow of Rocco Colangelo, died Monday, March 17, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Mrs. Colangelo was born April 19, 1924, in Meriden, a daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Balkow) Affeldt, and she was an employee of New Departure in Bristol for 35 years before retiring. Mrs. Colangelo was a longtime resident of Bristol.

She leaves one son, Thomas Colangelo of Waterbury; one brother, Joseph Affeldt of Meriden; one sister, Shirley Mose of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday, March 21, at 8 a.m. from the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eileen B. Cotrona

WESTBROOK -- Eileen B. Cotrona, 70, of Linden Ave. North, Westbrook, wife of Joseph Cotrona, passed away peaceful after a long illness on Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown.

Born in Birmingham, England, on June 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Bridget (McComvery) Burgess. Eileen came to the United States in 1967, where she lived in the Meriden area for many years before moving to Westbrook six years ago. She worked in retail until 1981 and then became a surgical sterilizer at the World War II Veterans' Memorial Hospital in Meriden. Most recently she was employed at the Saybrook Convalescent Hospital in Old Saybrook as a cook. She was a former member of the AOH in Meriden and an avid painter and seamstress.

Besides her husband of 14 years, she is survived by a son, Martin Reeve and his wife, Norma of Bloomington, Ind.; a daughter, Gillian Hodgetts and her partner, Antonio Setaro of Lincolnshire, England; a sister, Christine Bunt and her husband, Peter of Cornwall, England; four grandchildren, Christopher and Brianna Reeve and Andrew and Lisa Hodgetts; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Walsh.

The family would like to invite you to a gathering in Eileen's honor from 2 to 8 p.m. (come and go at your convenience) on Friday, March 21, at the Grove Beach Clubhouse, corner of Broadway North and Boston Post Road, Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, 06450-1004. Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton has been entrusted with arrangements.

Cora L. DiPietro

MERIDEN -- Cora L. DiPietro, 45, of 53 South Second St., Meriden, wife of Darryl DiPietro, died on Monday, March 17, 2003, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden after a hard struggle with cancer.

Born in Waterville, Maine on Jan. 8, 1958, the daughter of Leona Chubbuck of Augusta, Maine, and the late Howard Chubbuck, she had resided in Meriden for most of her life. She attended local schools and was employed by S&Z Enterprises of Wallingford. Mrs. DiPietro was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Meriden.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Heather DiPietro and her fiancé, Michael Bloechle of Cheshire, and Cassondra Lee DiPietro of Meriden; one son, Anthony Sebastian DiPietro of Meriden; eight sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Nelson Cannon of Middletown, Linda Lavoie, Sandra and Glen Quellette, Velma and Rickie Ketchen, Mary and Warren Larrabee and Jody Rodrique, all of Maine and Peggy Chubbuck and Delma Chubbuck, both of Meriden; a brother, Craig Chubbuck of Maine; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Margaret DiPietro of Meriden; a sister-in-law, Donna Manns of Barnstable, Mass.; two brothers-in-laws, David DiPietro of Meriden and Daniel DiPietro of Higganum; also several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, with the Rev. Alden Banes of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to her husband, Darryl.

Beryl Gilmore

MERIDEN -- Beryl (Laing) Gilmore, 91, of Meriden, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the Meriden Center after a long illness.

Beryl was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Daisy and Willard Laing. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1986. Beryl was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce of Middlefield and George and his wife, Mary of Clinton; grandchildren include, Peter of Canaan, James of Deep River, Catherine of Avon, Ann and her husband, Scott Cina of Wallingford, Ryan of Eden Prairie, Minn., John of Hollywood, Calif., Christopher of Gardner, Mass., and Gregory and his wife, Nadine of Cheshire and their two daughters, Amanda and Kristin.

A funeral service will be private and there are no calling hours. Burial will be on Thursday, March 20, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Stonington. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to acknowledge all the loving care given to Beryl for the past 11 years at the Meriden Center.

Joseph P. Inguaggiato

NORTH HAVEN -- Joseph P. Inguaggiato, 86, of 31 Bowling Green Drive, North Haven, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at his home. Husband of Anna Geremia Inguaggiato.

Born in East Haven on Dec. 4, 1916, son of the late Biagio and Rosaria Corradino Inguaggiato. He had retired from IBEW Local 90 Electrical Union. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Father of Robert Inguaggiato and his wife, Judith, of North Branford, Rosary Vorio and her husband, Peter of North Haven, Jo-Ann Arcangelo and her husband, John of Wallingford; brother of Jeannette Inguaggiato of East Haven, Anthony (Tut) Inguaggiato of Citrus Springs, Fla., and the late Doris Marrandino; also survived by seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, Friday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow with full military honors in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Wallingford VNA, P.O. Box 657, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Colleen L. Johnson

NEW BRITAIN -- Colleen L. Johnson, 47, of 24 Camp St., died Sunday, March 16, 2003, as a result of injuries from an automobile accident.

Born in Middletown, Nov. 21, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Fitzgerald Lawson. Mrs. Johnson resided in the Meriden/Wallingford area most of her life, moving to New Britain three months ago. She attended Wallingford schools and was employed by Walnut Hill Care Center. Mrs. Johnson was a volunteer for the Animal Alliance Welfare League in New Britain.

She is survived by a son, Gary Mesick of Manchester; a sister, Linda Deno of Wallingford; five brothers, Leroy Lawson of East Hampton, Richard and Robert Lawson, both of Meriden, Joe Lawson of Virginia and William Lawson of Portland; and a dear friend, Ruth Adams; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 21, at 1 p.m. in the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden

Michael W. Noonan

MERIDEN -- Michael W. Noonan, 63, of 55 Willow St., died unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in Meriden.

Born in Meriden on July 9, 1939, the son of the late James J. and Edna Lemke Noonan, he attended Meriden schools and resided here for most of his life. Mr. Noonan was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.

He is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Anne Marie and Dr. J. Valdepinas of Seekonk, Mass., and Elizabeth Smith, R.N., of St. Robert, Mo.; two brothers, James and his wife, Dwayne of New Britain and Gerald J. Noonan of Meriden; also three aunts; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many cousins.

The funeral was private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery with his family. John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, was in charge of arrangements.

Oliver A. Rioux

MERIDEN -- Oliver Arthur Rioux, 64, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of Virginia Rae Rioux.

Born in Meriden on Feb. 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Theophile and Roseanna Gilbert Rioux. He was employed as a tool and die maker at Meriden Rolling Mill and was a member of the National Rifle Association and a certified firearms instructor. Mr. Rioux was a bonded, certified and registered locksmith, a range instructor and honorary lifetime member of the Silver City Gun Club, a former member of the Southington Sportsman's Association, a karate instructor in Middletown and Sho Dan black belt. His lifetime hobbies were drag racing and fishing.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori Luschenat and Lisa Kroeber; two step-children, John Stagni and Lisa Russo; four grandchildren, Monique Vlisides, Melissa Luschenat, Michael Luschenat and Laurel Kroeber; several step-grandchildren; two brothers, Roland Rioux and Noel Rioux; six sisters, Theresa Fazzina, Carmel Williams, Claire Cosker, Yvonne Snow, Rita Maskell and Diane Tuller. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ferdinand Rioux and Antoine Rioux; and a sister, Margaret Moore.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
