Madalena Ciaburro
WALLINGFORD - Madalena "Lena" Ciaburro, 90, wife of Joseph Ciaburro of 21 Lake St., Wallingford, died May 23, 1999, at the Hospital of St. Raphael's. Born in New Haven, on April 27, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Enrichetta Pastore Ianucci. Formerly of West Haven and Hamden, she more currently made her home with her loving granddaughter, Elizabeth Ranchinsky, her husband, Walter, and their children in Wallingford. She was a seamstress at Fair Manufacturing Co., until 1981.
She was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Harriet Ciaburro Barone and Richard J. Barone Sr. of Auburn, N.Y. She was also the devoted grandmother to Anne Barone of New Haven, Richard J. Barone Jr. and his wife, Sharmaine of Westport, Marlene Cohen and her husband, Eric, of Meriden, Donna Viens and her husband, Jonathan of Wilbraham, Mass., David Barone of East Hartford, and Michael Barone and his wife, Caren of Wiscasset, Mass. She also leaves 12 loving great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother, Joseph Ianucci and his wife, Adeline of New Haven and two nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anna Marie.
Funeral services will be held from Longobardi Funeral Home, 514 Chapel St., New Haven, Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Michael's Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial at East Side Cemetery, Woodbridge. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Raphael's Foundation, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511.

Josephine DeNegris
WALLINGFORD - Josephine Milici DeNegris, 87, of Silver pond, Center Street, formerly of South Whittlesey Avenue, Wallingford, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, in the Connecticut Hospice, in Branford. She was the wife of the late Matthew DeNegris Sr.
Born in Rehoboth, Mass., Dec. 19, 1922, daughter of the late Antonio and Concetta Sansone Milici, she was a Wallingford resident for 65 years. Mrs. DeNegris was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church, a member of the Ladies Guild and the former Mother's Circle of the church. She was a member of the Wallingford Senior Citizens Center and the Wallingford Chapter of AARP.
Mrs. DeNegris is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew M. and Antoinette DeNegris of Sarasota, Fla., and Jack M. and Gail DeNegris of Branford; four grandsons, and their spouses, Dean and Rebecca DeNegris of Branford, Kurt and Heather DeNegris of Wallingford, Marc DeNegris of Branford and Matthew V. DeNegris of Sarasota, Fla., three great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, John Milici, M.D., and Ann Milici of Branford and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Rose Milici, Molly Raccuia and Lily Falade and two brothers, Michael Milici, and Salvatore Milici.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Tuesday (TODAY) from 10:45 to 12:15 p.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Connecticut Hospice, 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405.

John J. Larese
WALLINGFORD - John J. Larese, 83, of Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, died Monday, May 24, 1999, at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Ruth Carlson Larese.
Born in Wallingford, July 30, 1915, he was a son of the late Peter and Antoinette Darin Larese and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Larese was employed by the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation of Wallingford for 44 years until his retirement in 1980, served an enlistment with "Company K" of the Connecticut National Guard and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in the Yalesville section of Wallingford.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Helena Larese of Wallingford, Dr. Richard E. Larese and Karen Larese of Tulsa, Okla., and Peter D. and Cindy Larese of Wallingford; seven grandchildren, Robert J. Larese of Wallingford, John Larese of Milford, Steven Larese of New Mexico, James Larese of Calif., Peter Larese of Tampa, Fla., Rodd Larese and Taylor Larese, both of Durham; three great-grandchildren, Robert Michael Larese, Austin Larese and Samantha Larese; and a sister, Catherine "Rena" Larese of Wallingford. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Larese.
His family will received relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 9 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Paul Pieciuk
MERIDEN - Paul Pieciuk, 89, husband of Sophie (Bagadinski) Pieciuk, of 544 Parker Ave. South, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at the Westfield Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 24, 1910, in Norwich, he was the son of the late John and Michaelina Pieciuk. Mr. Pieciuk was a longtime resident of Meriden and employed by the city of Meriden for more than 25 years on the police force until retiring in 1977. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, and a member of the Polish Knights and the Polish Falcons Nest 68. He was active in semipro baseball as a pitcher for many years, playing with local teams including the New Departure "ENDEES." Paul was also an avid golfer and league bowler.
Besides his wife of 67 years, he leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Paul Pieciuk Jr. and Gloria Pieciuk of Meriden; a daughter and son-in-law, Corrine and Robert Livingston of West Palm Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, May 24, from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at the funeral home.

Giuseppe Pullo
MERIDEN - Giuseppe Pullo, 84, of 75 David Drive, husband of the late Iolanda (Pullo) Pullo died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1914 in Ripi, Italy and was the son of the late Domenico and Filomena (Cortina) Pullo. Mr. Pullo was educated in Italian Schools and served with the Italian Army during World War II. He came to the United States in 1968, and has made Meriden his home since. He was employed by Corsetti Construction for 12 years retiring in 1980.
Mr. Pullo leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Mimi and Ralph Corsetti and Angela and David Tacinelli all of Meriden; two grandchildren, Dr. Ralph L. Corsetti of Louisiana and Christina S. Tacinelli of Meriden; two sisters, Francesca Dicosmo of Bridgeport and Adelina Pullo of Italy; two brothers, Angelo and Santo Pullo, both of Italy; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Palma Pullo and two brothers, Antonio and Luca Pullo.
His funeral will be held Thursday 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Rose of Lima Church at 10 a.m. He will be entombed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. His family requests donations be made to the MidState Medical Center Hospice Community Services, 658 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450 or the Connecticut Hospice, 621 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405.

Lynette Santillo
WILLSBORO, N.Y. - Lynette Marie Santillo, 35, of 78 Mountainview Road, Willsboro, N.Y., formerly of Meriden entered into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, May 23, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lynette was born on May 13, 1964, the daughter of MaryPat Ghidini Denis of Willsboro, N.Y., and Thomas Santillo Sr. of Meriden. She attended Meriden schools and was employed by several area businesses until moving to Willsboro in 1987.
Lynette was the beloved mother of a son, Joshua and a daughter, Shaylene both of Willsboro. Besides her mother, father, and children, she is survived by her stepmother, Janice Santillo; a sister, Patricia Ann Santillo of Panama City, Fla.; four brothers, Thomas C. Santillo Jr. of Willsboro, Joseph J. Santillo of Willimantic, and Gary and Kevin Denis of Willsboro. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Madeline Ghidini of Hollywood Fla.; her paternal grandmother, Elvira Santillo of Wallingford; her paternal grandfather, Joseph Santillo of West Palm Beach, Fla.; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, John Ghidini Sr.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton St., Keeseville, N.Y. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, May 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Church in Keeseville. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to the L. Santillo Children's Trust Fund, c/o Mr. Thomas Santillo Sr., 8 Prescott St., Meriden, CT. 06450.

Esther Willis
MADISON - Esther Doolittle Willis, 89, of Madison, formerly of Clinton, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at the Watrous Nursing Center, Madison. She was the wife of the late David C. Willis. Mrs. Willis was born in New Haven, Aug. 29, 1909, daughter of the late Amasa and Jessie Terhune Doolittle. With her husband, she had been an antique dealer in Clinton and the Mt. Carmel section of Hamden for several years.
She is survived by three sons, David B. Willis of Hamden, Robert A. Willis of Stratford, N.H., and Daniel G. Willis of Seminole, Fla.; two daughters, Joan W. Young of Madison and Carole Willis of New Haven; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Madelyn Clark.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday June 8 at 11 a.m. at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 1315 Boston Post Road, Guilford. Memorial gifts may be sent to the charity of one's choice.

Frank V. Zlotowski
MIDDLETOWN - Frank Victor Zlotowski, 52, of Middletown, formerly of Madison Avenue, Meriden, died Friday due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on I-91 in Meriden. He was born in Meriden, son of Marguarite (Amann) Zlotowski of Durham, formerly of Meriden, and the late Alphonse Zlotowski. He was manager of J & L Tool Co. Inc., in Wallingford. He attended Wilcox Technical School in Meriden. He owned a gas station in Meriden at age 20. In 1973, he married his ex-wife, Beverly Chapman. They moved to Knobhill Road, Meriden, and had their first child, Laurie-Lynne. A few years later, they moved to East Meriden and Kerry-Beth was born. He worked many years for Sunbeam Bread. Frank lived with an entrepreneur's eye, always coming up with new ideas. He assisted his fiancée, Rose Fuentes-Loffredo, with her catering business. He was involved in many activities and community events with Rose Mary. He was also an avid bowler and loved sports cars. He will be dearly missed.
Besides his mother, he leaves two daughters, Laurie-Lynne Zlotowski and Kerry Beth Zlotowski, both of Meriden; a sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Ronald Gresl of Higganum. His fiancée, Rose Mary Lofreddo, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the same auto accident.
The funeral will be Thursday with a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Marie Beltz
SOUTHINGTON - Marie Heusel Beltz, of Meriden Avenue, in Southington, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Albert Betlz. Born Feb. 14, 1903, daughter of the late Jacob and Adelaide (Reisch) Heusel she was a lifelong resident of Southington. Marie graduated from Lewis High School. She was a life long member of the First Lutheran Church of Southington and volunteered for over 25 years at Bradley Memorial Hospital.
Marie is survived by a son, William Beltz of Alexandria, Va., a daughter, Babette Glaser of Phoenix; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Kurt Beltz.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, at the First Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to either the First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to Bradley Memorial Hospital Auxillary. Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Edgar Blanchette
MERIDEN - Edgar "Shorty" Blanchette, 70, husband of Elizabeth (Butts) Blanchette of 14 S. Broad St., Meriden, died at the West Haven VA Hospital Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999. Born in Norwich, Oct. 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann (Kenyon) Blanchette. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Since moving to Meriden, he was a self-employed carpet installer. A member of the Disabled American Veterans of Meriden and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 591 of Wallingford, he also belonged to the Maennerchor Club of Taftville.
On March 15, 1986, in Wallingford, he was married to Elizabeth (Butts) Blanchette of Meriden who survives along with two daughters, June LaBonte and Debra Bohara both of Norwich; two sisters, Rita Guard of Lisbon and Dianna Archambault of Wickford, R.I.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, March 4, at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, March 5, at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Norwich. Interment will be private.

James D. Delisle
MERIDEN - James Daniel Delisle, 44, of 71 Baker Ave., South Meriden, passed away on Monday, March 1, 1999, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, in the loving arms of his wife and cherished soul mate, Rosemarie (Barnes) Delisle, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Providence, R.I., on Aug. 30, 1954, he was the son of Lorraine (Guertin) Delisle of South Meriden, and the late Daniel J. Delisle. Mr. Delisle had lived in the Meriden area since he was 2 years old and was a graduate of Wilcox Technical School, class of 1972. He was employed by Hull Printing Co., in Meriden for the past 10 years, previously being employed by Meriden Gravure Co. for 17 years. James was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church, a member of the Connecticut Valley Litho Club and of Printing Industries of New England. He was inducted into Master Printers of America. He had formerly played baseball in the Waterbury Nutmeg League and the Meriden Amateur Softball League.
Besides his wife, Rosemarie, and his mother, he is survived by; three children, Jeremiah Delisle, Pvt. Sonny J. Silva, and Maria C. Silva; one sister and a brother-in-law, Karen and Gary Ritchey of Cromwell; his mother-in-law, Mary D. Barnes; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Ivy Altmannsberger, MaryEllen and Guy Weaver, all of Meriden, and Nick and Patti Mastrangelo of Orange, CT. He is also survived by several aunts, nieces and nephews. James' love life and special sense of humor will be missed by all.
The funeral will be held on Friday, March 5, at 9:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Laurent Church. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 4, from 4 to 8 p.m.
