Anna J. Champagne
MERIDEN - Anna J. Champagne, 94, of 60 Hanover St., died with her family around her beside at the MidState Medical Center on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999.
Mrs. Champagne was born July 26, 1904, in Meriden, and was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Faron) Banack. She attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of Meriden. She retired from the former Meriden Wallingford Hospital, where she was head of housekeeping for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of its Holy Rosary Society and Ladies Guild.
She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert and Lynn Champagne of Meriden and Edward J. and Irene Champagne of Grand Ridge, Fla.; two daughters, Mary Cyrul and Barbara Logodicio both of Meriden; two brothers, Joseph Banack of Wallingford and Michael Banack of Meriden; one sister, Mary Kronenberger of Wallingford; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson Richard Champagne and a brother Frank Banack.
Her funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home 450 Broad St., Meriden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
The family requests donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden, CT 06450, in Anna's memory.
Ronald C. Chrzanowski
CHESHIRE - Ronald C. Chrzanowski, 57, of 131 Country Club Road, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Jane (Chamberlain) Chrzanowski.
Mr. Chrzanowski was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Waterbury, son of the late Casimir and Nellie (Balciunas) Chrzanowski, and lived in Cheshire for the past 30 years.
An accountant, he retired in 1996 as the town treasurer of Wallingford. He was a graduate of Yale University, class of 1963, and received his MBA from Stanford University in 1965. He was a member in various professional organizations and was a communicant of St. Bridget's Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves his step-mother, Madge Chrzanowski of Naugatuck; a son, Kenneth L. Chrzanowski of Somers; a daughter Catherine Brinkley of Meriden; a brother Raymond Chrzanowski of Naugatuck; and a sister, Frances Bowden of Naugatuck, two grandsons and two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
The funeral will leave the Slater Funeral Home, at 10:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Bridget's Church for a mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 8:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 2129 Stanley Hills Drive, Los Angeles 90046.
Andrew M. Cricco
WALLINGFORD - Andrew M. Cricco Sr., of Maple Avenue, Wallingford, died unexpectedly, Monday , Feb. 15, 1999, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of the late Anna Rish Cricco.
Born in Hamden, he was a son of the late Salvatore Cricco Sr., and the late Lucy Ferrucci Cricco and was a lifelong Wallingford resident. He was employed by the Arute Brothers Construction Co. of New Britain for 13 years until his retirement in 1992, and was previously employed by the L.G. DeFelice Construction Co. for 24 years. He was parishioner of St. Casimir's Polish National Catholic Church of Wallingford and was the parish chairman for many years. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 478 of Hamden.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Cricco and Lori A. Cricco; and a son Andrew M. Cricco Jr., all of Wallingford; two sisters, Mary Cricco and Rose B. Schede, both of Wallingford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony T. and Mary Cricco of Cape Coral, Fla., and Salvatore Cricco Jr., and Patricia Cricco of Wallingford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Peter Cricco Sr.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at 10:45 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Casimir's Polish National Catholic Church, for a Mass Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery

Nicola Papandrea
MERIDEN - Nicola Papandrea, 96, husband of Maria Teresa Carabetta Papandrea, of 26 Elizabeth Ave., died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, 1999, at the Masonic Geriatric Health Care Center, after a brief illness. He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Dec. 20, 1902, a son of the late Salvatore and Marie Pezzano Papandrea. While still a child, his family moved to Italy, he returned to the United States settling in Meriden in 1962. He was employed as a press operator at Domino Press for several years. After his retirement he enjoyed working in his garden and caring for his grandchildren. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Besides his wife he is survived locally by a son and daughter-in-law; John F. and Stephanie Papandrea, of Meriden, with two sons and a daughter in Italy, two grandsons; John Papandrea, and Pietro and his wife Maria Galluzzo, all of Meriden; a granddaughter, Maria and her husband James Sullivan, of Wallingford, several other grandchildren in Italy, and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews here and in Italy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian burial, Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, with entombment in All Saints Cemetery

Kasy Sisomphone
MERIDEN - Kasy Sisomphone, 86, of 248 Cook Ave., died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Kouay Sisomphone.
She was born December 20, 1912, in Laos. She was a member of the Lao Buddhist Temple in Washington , D.C.
She is survived by two daughters; Onesa Sisomphone of Meriden, Bounta Dauheang of Meriden, three brother Boua Pha Sisomphone of Baltimore, Chanthong Sisomphone of Meriden, Kham Sisomphone of West Valley, Utah; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held Feb. 20, at 11:30 a.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Walter T. Wojtunik
MERIDEN - Walter T. Wojtunik, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at the MidState Medical Center.He was born in Meriden June 6, 1911, a son of the late Thomas and Helen Klimowicz Wojtunik. He had been the owner of Walt's Hillside Tavern which sponsored State Championship softball teams.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; Dolores A. Wojtunik of Meriden and Dorothy M. and Adolph Petro of Meriden; two sisters, Mary Wojtunik of Centerbrook, and Irene Kozak of Wallingford; two brothers, Felix Wojtunik of Yalesville and Roman Wojtunik of Meriden; two grandchildren, Laurie Lovely of Torrington, and Michael Petro of Conshocken, Pa.
He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Kozak and by his wife, Mary Hebda Wojtunik.
The Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., is in charge of the arrangements. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Alfred J. Borek
WALLINGFORD - Alfred J. Borek, 82, of Plymouth Court, Wallingford, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of the late Mary O'Neil Borek. Born in Meriden, June 11, 1916, he was a son of the late George and Valerie Koski Borek and was a Wallingford resident for 47 years. Mr. Borek was employed by SNET for 37 years until his retirement in 1978, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in the Yalesville section of Wallingford.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ronald Meyer of Prospect and Valerie and Edward Lilienthal of Wallingford; two grandchildren, Kristen Mower of Derby and James Lilienthal of Wallingford; a brother, Edward Borek of Meriden; a sister-in-law, Eleanora (Mrs. George) Borek of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews, including his god daughter, Donna (Mrs. Daniel) Murphy of Old Saybrook. He was predeceased by a brother, George Borek Jr.
Funeral services will be held Friday (TODAY) at 9:30 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery

Charles A. Bridgett
NEW HARTFORD - Charles A. (Chuck) Bridgett, 77, of 49 Oxford Road, New Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Wallingford, on Oct. 3, 1921, the son of William and Emma Lamoureux Bridgett. He was raised and educated in Connecticut and on July 17, 1943, married Rita Barry at St. Joseph's Church in New Haven. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to the New Hartford area, where they have since resided. For many years Mr. Bridgett was a salesman in the Utica, N.Y., area, and was most recently affiliated with Utica Chrysler-Plymouth, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford. Chuck was a World War II Air Force veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1376 in New Hartford. He was also an avid golfer and former member of the Yahnundahsis Golf Club. Chuck was an enthusiastic Yankee fan.
Besides his beloved wife, Rita; he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathy Bridgett of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters, Barbara Holyroid and Margaret Williams both of Wallingford; a brother, William Bridgett of Wallingford; one granddaughter, Kelly Laura Bridgett of Rochester; and one grandson, Michael Barry Bridgett of Cambridge, Mass. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bridgett was predeceased by one sister, Catherine Barry.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 15, 1999, at 9:30 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 E. Park Row, Clinton, and at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Crown hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (TODAY) from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mary M. Eddy
GENEVA, N.Y. - Mrs. Mary Martha Eddy, 75, of Geneva, died on Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at the Serenity House in Victor, NY.
Mrs. Eddy was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Gertrude Nilan McGuire. Mary was a graduate of DeSales High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester. She was a registered nurse and a supervisor at Geneva General Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Nurses Association, the Winnek Post No. 396 American Legion Auxiliary, Geneva Country Club and St. Francis de Sales Church.
She is survived by: her daughters, Martha (William) DiCicco of Canandaigua and Rita Eddy of Geneva; her sons, Stephen (Joan) Eddy of South Bend, Ind., Paul (Roberts) Eddy of Niles, Michigan; Joseph (Maureen) Eddy of Southington, Conn., Robert (Kathy) Eddy of Middlebury, Conn., Richard (Cindy Eddy of Preston, David (MaryLou) Eddy of Norwich, N.Y.; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Eddy of Waterloo; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Rita (Dan) Insely of Wellsville, N.Y., and her brother, Lester McGuire of Rochester; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Eddy; her son, John Eddy; her grandmother, Kelly Trickler; and her sister, Frances Voak.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Carol W. Jantsch
MERIDEN - Carol W. Jantsch, 72 of Tulip Drive, wife of the late Albert Jantsch, died on Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a lengthy illness. Born in Worcester, Mass., on May 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Johanna (Wind) Wiltenburg and had lived in Meriden for the past 29 years. Following high school she graduated from Valparaiso, and received a master's degree from Ball State University. She taught high school English for a time, and later was employed as an Office Manager at the Robinson Insurance Agency in Waterbury, retiring 7 years ago. She was a member of the AAUW "College Club," the "Singles" bridge group of New Haven, the "Marathon" bridge group of Meriden, and was an avid traveler with the Elder Hostel International.
She is survived by: two daughters, Marilyn Hermann of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Christianne McQuade of Wakefield, Mass.; three sons, Michael Jantsch of Higganum, Dr. William Jantsch of Worthington, Ohio, and Steven Jantsch of Beaver Falls, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. William Wiltenburg of Massachusetts, and the Rev. Robert Wiltenburg of New Jersey. Mrs. Jantsch is also survived by an aunt, Dorothy Storms of Worcester, Mass., and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 188, North Haven, CT 06473.
Paul J. Kapitzke Jr.
MERIDEN - Paul John Kapitzke Jr., 46, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at the MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Meriden, April 2, 1953, a son of Marjorie Anderson Kapitzke of Meriden and the late Paul John Kapitzke Sr.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, Craig R. Johnson of Hebron; several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Roger Wayne Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Roy will officiate.
