Jesse Martell Dunn
May 06, 1983 - February 09, 2008
Jesse Martell Dunn, age 24, formerly of Hidden Brook Drive, Brookfield, devoted husband of Amber (Braman) Dunn, died on Saturday, February 9th in Johnstown, PA, due to injuries sustained from a work related accident. He was born in New Milford on May 6, 1983, cherished son of Steven and Lisa (Bouchard) Dunn, of Brookfield. He was a graduate of New Hope Christian Academy and attended Valley Forge Christian College.
Jesse was a loving son, husband, and father. He was a musician and Youth Worship Leader at his church in Pennsylvania. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his beloved wife of 4 years, Amber, and his parents, Steven and Lisa, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Elisha Gleason Dunn and Ezra Martell Dunn; and his two brothers, Steven Dunn, Jr and his wife, Lisa of Danbury, and Tyler Dunn of Brookfield; and his sister, Kylie Dunn of Brookfield. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Dolores Dunn of Maine; and his great grandmother, Filomena Forte of Rhode Island.
Jesse’s family takes great comfort in the knowledge that he is safely Home in the arms of Our Savior. Though he is not physically with us, the gift of his life will continue through organ donation.

Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the First Assembly of God in Brookfield on Saturday, February 16th at 10:00am. Burial will take place in the spring.
The family will receive friends at the First Assembly of God on Friday, February 15th between the hours of 4:00 and 9:00pm. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brian A. Calise
October 13, 1976 - February 14, 2008
Brian A. Calise, of Beechwood Court, Woodbury, loving husband of Jennifer (Lockhart) Calise, died on Thursday, February 14th at Waterbury Hospital. He was born in Queens, NY on October 13, 1976, beloved son of Alfred and Patricia (Leger) Calise of
Warren. He was a graduate of Wamogo High School, in Litchfield, Class of 1995.
Brian was an audio video technician, owning and operating Audio Dreams in New Milford. He was an avid musician who played many instruments, including piano, guitar, trumpet, bass and drums. He enjoyed working with his hands, and had a special gift for putting complex things together as well as fixing anything. Brian was a sociable and outgoing person who loved to entertain family and friends by planning and hosting get-togethers. He was very thoughtful and would go out of his way to help someone or to show he cared.
In addition to his wife, Jennifer, and his parents, Alfred and Patricia, he will be sadly missed by his two brothers, Steven Calise and his wife, Anna, and Vincent Calise and his wife, Ines, all of Long Island, NY; his grandmother, Angelina Calise of Long Island, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his in-laws, Bruce and Cindy Lockhart of New Milford; his brother-in-law, Chad Lockhart of New Milford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 19th at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Lakes in New Milford. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Cemetery, Long Island, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Monday, February 18th between the hours of 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.
Julia Elizabeth Warnken
July 13, 1918 - February 12, 2008
Julia Elizabeth (Van Allen) Warnken, age 89, formerly of Bear Mountain Road, New Fairfield, wife of the late William P. Warnken, Sr., died peacefully at Pope John Paul Center for Healthcare on Tuesday, February 12th. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 13, 1918, daughter of the late John and Marie (Bovasso) Van Allen.
Mrs. Warnken was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield, and was very active in the Ladies Guild. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her son, William P. Warnken, Jr. of Sunapee, NH; her daughter, Marie E. Gibson and her husband, David A. of Katonah, NY; and her two grandchildren, Sara A. and David P. Gibson of Katonah, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine Sullivan of Massapequa, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 16th at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Mountainview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jerome Terracino
February 22, 2008
Jerome “Jerry” Terracino, of Newtown, devoted husband of Patricia Ann Morasco-Terracino, died at Danbury Hospital on Friday, February 22nd. He was born in Goshen, NY, son of the late Joseph and Ida (Barbero) Terracino. He was the president and founder of Guardian Alarm Services in Danbury.
From early childhood, he was both a co-provider and protector of his younger siblings. As an adult, in addition to being a very successful businessman, he was a kind and generous person to the community and everyone around him. Jerry’s generosity extended beyond the local area. His most recent passion was supplying water to the people of Uganda.
Jerry was a parishioner of St. Rose Church in Newtown and a former parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys. He was very active in church affairs, including retreats and Perpetual Adoration. He was a volunteer at the homeless shelter in Danbury, Danbury Hospital, and was a supporter of the Friends Network of Brewster.
In addition to his loving wife and partner of 20 years, Patricia, he was a devoted father to Lynn Fonseca and her husband, Joseph, Thomas, Jennifer, Mia and Gianna Terracino, and doting grandfather to Nicholas, Kathryn, and Joshua Fonseca and Taryn Rose Terracino. He is also survived by three siblings, Colette Terracino, Margaret Rossman, and James Terracino; as well as countless nieces, nephews and cousins, who loved him dearly.
He was preceeded in death by his brother, Joseph Terracino.

The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday evening between the hours of 4:00 – 8:00pm.

Constance H. Miller
March 16, 1933 - March 24, 2008
Constance H. (Gero) Miller, 75, of Aqua Vista, Danbury, died peacefully at home in the presence of her family, on Monday, March 24th. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 16, 1933, daughter of the late Edward and Helen C. (Pierce) Gero. She was a graduate of Ridgefield High School, and Norwalk School of Nursing.
Connie, as she was lovingly known to her family and friends, was a Registered Nurse, retiring from Ashlar of Newtown after more than 14 years of employment. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, and supported the Women’s Center in Danbury.
She enjoyed making her home on Lake Candlewood, both in childhood and her adult life. She lived simply and brought joy to many. Her loving and gentle nature extended well beyond her beloved family, to her many friends and countless patients whose lives she touched.
Connie will be sadly missed by her three cherished daughters, Debra Miller-Chomicz and her husband, Mark of Bethel, Linda Rockhill of Palm City, Fl, and Kathy Gallaer and her husband, Rob of Sherman; her three grandchildren, Alexis, Shelby, and Celia Rockhill, all of Palm City, Fl. Last but not least, she will be missed by the family pets, Coda, Scout, and Nigel, who never ceased to bring a smile to her face.

Family and friends are invited to share in a celebration of Connie’s life, during calling hours on Friday, March 28th between 5:00 and 7:00pm. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.

Marjorie Prokopy
April 08, 1928 - March 26, 2008
Marjorie (Lund) Prokopy, 79, of Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Hancock Hall, Danbury. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Prokopy.
Mrs. Prokopy was born in Brookfield on April 8, 1928 a daughter of the late Harry and Mae (Swanson) Lund. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Danbury High School, class of 1946. A Business Representative for SNET, she retired after 33 years of service. She was a member of the Pioneers of America and a member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield. She enjoyed the company of her many long-time friends. She was especially devoted to her many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver: Darlene Burr and her husband Jonathan of Washington, CT; several other nieces and nephews and many great and several great great nieces and nephews; and her cousins: Dorothy and Henry Johnson of Danbury.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 11:30 am at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield with Chaplain Kendall Paladino officiating. Burial in Central Cemetery, Brookfield will be in the spring. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of the service at 11:30.

Michael Arthur Mazzia
June 11, 1932 - March 18, 2008
Michael Arthur Mazzia, of Danbury, passed away on Tuesday, March 18th at the age of 75. He was born in Danbury on June 11, 1932, the beloved son of the late Samuel and Rosemary (Gillotti) Mazzia.
Spending all of his life in Danbury, he attended Danbury Schools and was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1950. He was a member of the football team and the school band. He attended the University of Hartford, majoring in music. As a young man he worked in his family’s dry cleaning business, The Lincoln Avenue Cleaners. His talent and love for music made it possible for him to be a member of several local bands and while serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict to play in his Company’s Band.
Michael, a self employed Realtor and Real Estate Appraiser for more than 35 years, enjoyed his work. A member of the Independent Fee Appraisers (IFA), his service nationally and locally as a Director and in other positions gave him the opportunity to travel. He became acquainted with the many local and national Real Estate family whose personal friendships (as with his lifetime friends and family) he greatly valued.
He is survived by his cherished children, daughter, Wendy Ann Haase and her husband Kenneth of San Ramon, CA; his two grandsons, Zachary and Lucas Haase, and his daughter Melissa Mazzei of Los Angeles, CA.
While his physical presence will be missed, his generous and unconditional love for his children, grandchildren, and all his loved ones, Maggie, Cole, Chelsey, Ricky, Alex, their parents Darryl and Sheri, Richard and Zel, and Kathy will be held with joy in their hearts, keeping him eternally close.

Louise Mary Mesko

Louise Mary (Capalongo) Mesko, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, wife of Oscar K. Mesko, died on Friday, March 14th at Port St. Lucie Medical Center. She was born in Danbury, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Grace (Patella) Capalongo. She was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1937.
Mrs. Mesko made her home in the Danbury community for most of her life. She was a past parishioner of St. Peter Church and St. Gregory the Great. She retired from Perk & Elmer where she worked as a secretary for 18 years. She also taught secretarial skills in the evenings at Warren Business Institute for many years.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Oscar K. Mesko of Florida; her sister, Jane McCall of Winston Salem, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Lauf; her son, Skippy Lauf; her brother, Anthony Capalongo; and her four sisters, Concetta Peck, Josephine Lane, Margaret Holtz, and Lucy Chiarella.

Gerald Louis Kulhay
May 21, 1947 - March 18, 2008
Gerald Louis Kulhay, 60, of Austin Street, Danbury, devoted husband of Leigh A. (Sproule) Kulhay, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, March 18th. He was born in Bridgeport on May 21, 1947, son of the late Louis and Ruth (Neubert) Kulhay.
Mr. Kulhay worked as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office in Bethel for 33 years. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Danbury. He was a family man who enjoyed being with his loved ones. He also enjoyed making model rockets, reading, and astronomy.
In addition to his beloved wife of 37 years, Leigh, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Jeffrey N. Kulhay and Lisa of Glastonbury, and Nicholas J. Kulhay of Danbury; his four daughters, Greta L. Silva and Ricardo of Griswold, Maria N. Kulhay and Michael Hawkins, of Bethel, Johanna R. Kulhay and Eric Gray of Bethel, and Rebecca L. Kulhay of Danbury; six grandchildren, Charles and Shane Kulhay, Jaylen and Makena Hawkins, Nicholas and Tyler Silva. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas P. Kulhay of Danbury; his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sproule of New Fairfield; as well as several nieces and nephews.
