C. Robert Vigezzi
C. Robert Vigezzi, 87, of Colchester, passed away Tuesday (July 30, 2013)with his loving wife, Jean (Holdridge) Vigezzi, at his side.
Born June 7, 1926 in Prairie City, OR, he was the son of the late Carmen and Doris (Haines) Vigezzi.
Mr.Vigezzi served proudly with the U.S. Merchant Marines during and following World War II.
He went on to study monumental drafting, design, carving and sculpting at the Barre (VT) School of Memorial Art and created countless everlasting tributes for Bottinelli Custom Monuments in New London for many years before his retirement in 2000.
In years past, he had been active with the Greater Hartford YMCA Fencing Club.
In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, he leaves four children (and their spouses), Catherine (Michael) Kirchhoff of Tolland, Vivian (David) Garvey of Dover, NH, Martin (Sylvana) Vigezzi of Carrollton TX and Diane (Bruce) Donnelly of Kittery, ME; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Diana, Jessica, Jillian and Gabrielle; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Jacen; and numerous extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Jenkins.
Friends may call starting at 10:30 AM Friday (Aug. 2nd) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, followed by the celebration of the Funeral Liturgy at 12 noon at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester. Rendering of full military honors will follow Mass. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Church.

Judith Anne (Huffman) Goeschel
Judith Anne (Huffman) Goeschel, 65,of Colchester, beloved wife of Richard,passed away Tuesday(July 30, 2013) at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Dec. 2, 1947in Raleigh County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Sylvia(Clinton)Huffman.
Mrs.Goeschel had worked in sales – most recently for Getty Granite in Salem.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening, but found her greatest joy in her family– to whom she was ever devoted.
In addition to her loving husband of 45 years, she leaves her daughter, Tracy(Wood) Chamberland and husband, Antoine of Colchester; two grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Wood; six siblings, Joe, Jimmy, Janice, Tommy, Penelope and Sharon;and numerous extended family members and friends.
Friends may call 5to 8 PM Thursday (Aug. 1st) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167OldHartford Road, Colchester. A Chapel Service will be observedat7:30PM. Burial will be private.

John J. Gager
John J. Gager, 72, a resident of Plainsboro, NJ and formerly of Manchester, MA, Bozrah, CT and New London, CT, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Mr. Gager was born April 4, 1942 in Boston, MA, the son of John and Rachel Clark Gager. He was raised in Bozrah and New London, CT and graduated from Mount Hermon Academy in Mount Hermon, MA. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he acquired an MBA with a concentration in Finance, and a graduate of Boston University, from which he received a BA in Political Science. He was also a US Marine Corps veteran.
Mr. Gager was a senior executive with extensive experience in translating business needs and strategies into effective solutions. He possessed excellent management and presentation skills and was particularly competent in describing technical issues in non-technical terms. He began his career as one of a team of systems analysts and progressed from analyst to senior analyst to project manager to senior project manager. After obtaining an MBA, he entered the consulting field and progressed through the ranks of consulting with several organizations, including AT&T Consulting Services, a division of AT&T Global Information Solutions (GIS). With the breakup of AT&T GIS, Mr. Gager returned to independent consulting, where he focused on managing complex projects requiring compliance with exacting standards.
Mr. Gager was an enthusiastic life-long sailor, who was especially proud of his recent “entry by sea” into Bermuda, while crewing for a professional captain. In addition, he eagerly looked forward to sailing his 41’ Island Trader on the Chesapeake Bay. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed many a quiet hour reading with his beloved dog, Amanda at his feet.
Mr. Gager is survived by his wife of seventeen years—Linda Mumford Gager, his daughter—Kimberly Daly and her husband Jon of Andover, MA, and their two daughters, Samantha and Elizabeth, and his two brothers—Arthur of Standish, ME and George of San Francisco, CA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gager was predeceased by his first wife, Kathleen Carbine and their daughter, Shawn. Friends will be received at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, CT from 9:30-10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 12th. The celebration of the Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 AM at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester. Interment will be in the Bozrah Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Eleventh Hour Rescue, a volunteer-based 501c3 organization that saves dogs and cats from euthanasia, at 50 International Drive, South Flanders, NJ 07836.

Rita (Ferrante) Napoli
Rita (Ferrante) Napoli, 88, of Colchester and formerly of Westchester County, NY, widow of the late Joseph Napoli, passed away peacefully Sunday (Aug. 3, 2014) at her son’s home in Lebanon.
Born May 2, 1926 in Sepino, Campobasso, Italy, she was one of the 13 children of the late Ralph and Severina Ferrante.
An avid reader, Mrs. Napoli had worked as a condenser for Reader’s Digest for many years before her retirement.
She leaves two children, James and wife, Maria of Lebanon and Amy Napoli of Hollywood Hills, AZ; and three grandchildren, Kristina Napoli and David and Justin Faulkner; and her beloved great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be observed 11:30 AM Wednesday (Aug. 6th)at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, who passed away Aug. 4, 1999. Thereare no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Masonicare Home Hospice, 339 Flanders Road, Ste. 215, East Lyme 06333. Care of arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.

Mary Anne Therrien
Mary Anne Therrien, 51, of Colchester, Connecticut passed peacefully on July 31, 2014 at her home.
Mary Anne was born in New Britain to Patrick and Frances Phaup on February 10, 1963. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1981. During her 25-year administrative career, she supported several lawyers, engineers and school administrators. Most notably, she touched numerous students’ lives at Bacon Academy in Colchester.
In her free time, she shared, designed and framed many cross-stitch pieces throughout the years. Her expertise and love for cross-stitch won her “second prize” at the 2013 Hebron Harvest Fair. In addition, she was a creative jewelry designer and shared her one-of-a-kind designs with her friends and local stores. Mary Anne loved the beach and listening to the serenity of the ocean’s waves. She always mentioned, “it was like heaven…so peaceful”.
Mary Anne’s fun-loving, kind, caring spirit will be deeply missed by all. She will always be remembered and cherished for the lives and hearts of those she touched and her laugh was one of a kind. Mary Anne’s cats, especially Rocky and Shelby, were her therapy. We loved her each and every day and now we will miss her each and every day.
The Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at Saint Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, on Saturday, August 9th at 11 AM. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
The family wishes to thank all of those who shared special moments with her over the past two years as she bravely fought her unexpected illness.

Patrick Joseph Sullivan
Patrick Joseph Sullivan, “Sully”, 58, of Hebron, passed away peacefully Monday morning (July 28, 2014). He spent his final days surrounded by the love and care of many friends, whom had supported him in his long battle with cancer.
Sully was born Sept. 10, 1955 in Hartford. He was predeceased by his father and mother, and is survived by a brother and a sister. For many years, Sully was considered a valued member of the family of patrons at Brother Bones Cafe in Hartford. Sully especially appreciated the love, guidance and acceptance shown to him by Bonsey, the proprietor of Brother Bones. Upon the passing of Bonsey, Sully continued on with his close family ties which he carried to his new home, Twin Lakes Cafe in Amston; which is owned by Bonsey’s son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Wendy Grano. Forever here his spirit is sure to remain. Left behind are many close friends who’s hearts will forever be touched by having Sully consider you his friend. Friends may call Friday (Aug. 8th) starting at 5 PM at the Aurora-McCarrthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. A Chapel Service will be observed at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private. Jessica Lynn (LePage) Ross
Jessica Lynn (LePage) Ross, 44, of Colchester, beloved wife of Wayne, passed away Monday (July 28, 2014) at home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 9, 1970 in Norwich, she was a daughter of Emile LePage of Voluntown and Katherine (Soriero) Dickins of Wauregan.
She had worked for S&S Worldwide in Colchester for many years. Jessica loved to bird watch and was an avid fan of the NY Giants and NASCAR Racing.
In addition to her loving husband, whom she wed on Sept. 21, 2013, and her parents, she leaves her stepmother, Jackie LePage; sisters, Melissa Brisson of Webster, MA and Rebecca Williams of Washington State; brothers, Emile, Jr. and wife, Tori of Voluntown, Christopher and wife, Tiffany of Plainfield, James of Norwich and David Mercure; brother-in-law, Robert Ross of Colchester; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Taylor and husband, Robert of Bozrah and Linda Ross of Colchester; a special aunt, Linda Sposato of Uncasville; a dear friend, Judy “Momma” Kudrak of East Hampton; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be observed 4 PM Saturday (Aug. 2nd) at the First Congregational Church, 81 East Town St., Norwich. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.

Mary Elizabeth Doyle - Services for the late Mary E. Doyle, 63, who died July 20th, mother of Jason and Matthew (and Austin, deceased) and longtime companion of Michael Dankiw, will be held 11 am Wednesday, July 30th, directly at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester.

Robert John Previti
Aug. 7, 1975 - Dec. 23, 2014
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert John Previti, age 39, of Lebanon and formerly of Colchester, announce his tragic passing from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Dec. 23, 2014.
Rob was the loving and devoted son of Kathleen "Casey" (Riley) Margelot of Colchester and Victor Previti of Ellington; stepson of Walter Margelot and Shirley Previti; brother and best friend of Michael Previti of Groton; brother-in-law of Jillian Previti; doting uncle of Samantha, Gianna and Anthony; grandson of James Riley of Micco, FL; and cherished nephew, cousin and friend to many.
Rob was a 1992 graduate of Bacon Academy in Colchester and had worked as a contractor with his "extended family" at General Paving Co. in Rocky Hill for many years. He loved to spend time outdoors, whether it be fishing, four-wheeling or snowmobiling. His greatest gift, memory and legacy he leaves to those he loved was in his ability to live each day to its fullest, lend a helping hand to anyone in need and to always put family first.

Della F. Zahacefski
Della F. Zahacefski, 89, Of Colchester and formerly of Salem, passed away early Friday morning, (December 26, 2014), at the Backus Hospital in Norwich.
Born May 13, 1925 in N. Westchester, CT she was the last surviving of 17 children of the late William Orville and Nellie Belle (Martin) Schmidl.
Della married Edward on June 12, 1954. He predeceased her on May 4,1990.
Della retired several years ago after having worked for N. N. Hill Brass Factory as a Press Operator.
She was an active member of the Congregational Church of Salem, the Salem Fire Company Auxiliary, St. Joseph Polish Society Auxiliary and the Polish women’s Alliance. She will be remembered fondly as a devoted mother, grandmother aunt and friend to many.
She will be sadly missed but always remembered by her daughter Deborah and her husband Mark Okarmus, grandchildren Anthony LaTerra, Shelby Okarmus and Cameron Okarmus and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Pearl Brown, Hazel Lane, Louise Long, Bernice Ross, Ruth Cusimono, Viola Raecek, Lula St. Paul, Frederick Schmidl, Bernard Schmidl, and Eleanor Rathbun.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday January 2, 2015 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd., Colchester. The funeral service will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 10:30 AM, directly at the Congregational Church of Salem, 244 Hartford Road, Salem. Burial will follow in the Salem Green Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Interim Health Care, the Backus Hospital, Gardner Lake Fire Department, Especially Jimmy Savalle, the Colchester Hayward Volunteer Fire Department the Congregational Church of Salem with deep gratitude to Pastor Timothy Debeau.

Diane Dunn Rapp
Diane Dunn Rapp, 71 of Shelburne Falls, Ma, passed away on December 18, 2014, at the home of her daughter in Amston, Ct, with her family by her side.
Born February 11, 1943 in Hartford, Connecticut she was the daughter of Harold and the late Edith (Warner) Dunn and sister of the late Darlene Pye. Deedee grew up in Fairfield, CT; but later made homes in Easton, CT; Angel Fire New Mexico and Shelburne Falls, MA.
Deedee enjoyed knitting, sewing and other crafts as well as her yearly trips to Siesta Royale in Florida. She had lived the last 20 years in Shelburne Falls, MA, with her late husband George Rapp. From there she made many happy memories with her friends. She enjoyed many things throughout her life but being a grandmother to her 3 grandsons: Connor, Cliff and Dylan, was one of her greatest joys. Deedee also often talked about how she had the best son-in-laws in the world. She also valued her life-long friend, Marie Stangel. She will be missed but always remembered by her family: Lauren, Dave and Connor Henry, Darren Spinelli and Bill, Clifford and Dylan Omelia, Bing and Natalie Dunn, Jonathan, Martha, Natalie and Elise Dunn and Bob and Molly Pye and the numerous extended family members and friends.

Marcel E. Inkel
Marcel E. Inkel, 76, of Colchester and formerly of Biddeford, ME, passed away peacefully Friday (Nov. 21, 2014) at home, surrounded by his loving family after of courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born Jan. 15, 1938 in St. Malo, PQ, Canada, he was a son of the late Henry and Annie (Mongeau) Inkel.
Marcel had served proudly as an MP with the Army Reserves. Known for his ingenuity and strong work ethic, he was a true entrepreneur and established what would become PLACO Molders, Inc. in Bloomfield. Over the years, he designed and manufactured countless custom precision plastic products used the world over, including in the NASA Space Program. In 1983, he was issued a patent for developing an apparatus for transferring material from a feed spool to a take-up spool. Following his retirement and sale of the company, he returned a short time after as a consultant, working until earlier this year. He will be remembered for his kind and generous nature, and his dedication to both his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Nancy (Neida) Inkel; Marcel leaves two sons, Phillip Inkel and his wife, Meredith LaBella Inkel of East Haddam and Bryan Inkel of Colchester; nine grandchildren; three siblings, Martha, Jeannine and Roma, all of Biddeford, ME; and numerous niece, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by four siblings, Henrietta, Roger, Al and Victor; as well as his parents.
A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday (Dec. 20th) at 12:30 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. The family will receive guests starting at 11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private.

Judith “Judy” Washburn
Judith “Judy” Washburn, 73, of Port St. Lucie, FL and formerly of Colchester, died Dec. 10, 2014 at home in Florida. born February 5, 1941 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Stella (Bukowski) Johanson and Ragner George Johanson.
Judy enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, softball, bowling and tennis. Judy and her beloved husband, Bob retired to Port St. Lucie in 2006. Judy was widowed by Bob in August of 2008, and like Bob, passed peacefully with loved ones by her side.
Judy is survived by two children, Cory of Jensen Beach, FL and Kim of Floyd, VA; her sister, Sandra Middleton of South Windsor and brother, Bobby Johanson of Danielson; nieces, Jacqueline Middleton of Tolland and Laura Ballenger of Westminster, CO; and her lifetime caring friends and neighbors.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 pm Saturday (Jan. 10th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Harford, Colchester. A Memorial Service will be observed at 3:30pm at the funeral home. Following the service, friends are invited to visit the Colchester Farmer’s Club, 112 Halls Hill Road, Colchester from 4 to 6 pm to reflect and share memories with the family. Alan Sargent Hunniford
Alan Sargent Hunniford, 74, of DeLand, FL and formerly of Hebron, passed away peacefully Friday morning (Dec. 12, 2014) at home, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness. born Oct. 18, 1940 in Hartford, he was a son of the late William and Ethel (Smith) Hunniford. Mr. Hunniford had worked as a landscaper in the area for many years and later for the Town of Hebron Parks and Recreation Dept. He was a longtime member of the Hebron Vol. Fire Dept., having served as Captain of Company 3 for 20 years before retiring to Florida. In addition to his loving wife of 15 years, Kathlien (Webb) Hunniford, he leaves four sons, Glenn (wife, Jackie) of Lebanon, Dean (and girlfriend, Hayley Wagner) of Colchester, Sean (wife, Kristine) of Springhill, FL and Jason (wife, Laurie) of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Dylan, Krystal, Austin, Eva, Sean, Richard and Mackenzie; two great grandchildren, Rose and Pierce; a brother, William (wife, Marilyn) of Bonita Springs, FL; and numerous extended family members and friends. The family will receive guests from 4 to 7 PM Thursday (Dec. 18th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, with rendering of fire department honors at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hebron Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 911, Hebron 06248.
