In loving memory of our beloved father, Claudio Beltran, who died Thursday, in his home. His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Petra Ingles and eleven children: Gladys, Claudio, Manuel, Miriam, Efrain, Maria, Israel, Freddy, Edwin, Antonio, and Nelida. He also leaves 36 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and two surviving brothers in Puerto Rico.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10/4/04, at 10 A.M. in the Sagrado Corazon Church on Club Rd. in Windham. The burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic and on Monday, from 9:30 to 10:00 A.M. in the Church.

Cecile G. Drouin

Cecile G. Drouin, 81, of Willimantic, beloved wife of William J. Drouin, died Friday, 9/24/04, in St. Joseph’s Living Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1923 in Willimantic the daughter of Arvey and Rose (Perreault) Rock.
She was a weaver, employed by the Roslyn Mfg. Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1978. Mrs. Drouin was a member of St. Anne’s Society and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Willimantic.
Besides her husband, her survivors include a sister, Rosita Rodriguez of New Orleans, LA. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother: Albina and Lorraine Drouin and Lionel Rock.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 9/28/04, at 10 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 to 8 P.M. and again Tuesday, from 9:00 to 9:30 A.M. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.

Walter Kachorowsky
10-25-1940 - 11/21/2004
Walter Kachorowsky, 64, of Salem, CT, beloved husband of Irene (Muzyka) Kachorowsky, died Sunday, 11/21/04, in the W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.
He was born Oct. 25, 1940 in Kotuziw, the Ukraine, son of the late Paul and Anna (Hrynczuk) Kachorowsky.
He had worked for the Electric Boat Division in the carpentry dept. for 25 years, retiring in 2002. Mr. Kachorowsky was a member of the Gardners Lake Vol. Fire Dept., the Ukrainian National Home, and St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church in Colchester.
Besides his wife, his survivors include a son, Michael Kachorowsky of Montville, two daughters: Alana Tartsinis and her husband, Stephen of Windham and Lilly Windhom and her husband, Edward of Salem, five grandchildren, who are his greatest pride and joy: Stephen, Lilly and Emily Tartsinis and Bailey and Abigail Windhom. He also leaves a brother, Bohdan Kachorowsky of Salem and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Kachorowsky.
A Panahyda Service will be held Wednesday, 11/24/04, at 9:30 A.M. in the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church in Willimantic for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Colchester. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 to 8 P.M. with a Panahyda Service at 7 P.M.

D'ADDIO, RALPH J.
December 20, 2008
Ralph J. D’Addio, 85, of Rimmon Road, Woodbridge, passed away Dec. 20, 2008 in St. Raphael’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ann Malafronte D’Addio. Mr. D’Addio was born in New Haven July 1, 1923, son of the late William & Elvira (Alice) D’Addio. He worked as a machinist for Hershey Metals for many years prior to retirement. He was a long time usher at our Lady of the Assumption Church, a volunteer at the Hospital of St. Raphael, and an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by a brother, William D’Addio of Del Ray, FL.; a sister, Virginia Smith of Woodbridge; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Charlotte Nuzzolillo.
Funeral from The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Tuesday, Dec. 23rd at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Center Road, at 10:00. TURSKI, SHIRLEY C.

Shirley “Tommy” Cramer Turski, 85, of 100 Marvelwood Drive, New Haven, passed away Dec. 17, 2008 in Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Stanley I. Turski. Mrs. Turski was born in New Haven July 14, 1923, daughter of the late William and Martha Sullivan Cramer. She worked as a physical education teacher in the New Haven School System for 35 years until her retirement. During World War II, she served for two years as a corporal with the Women’s Reserve Band of the United States Marine Corps. Prior to the war, she was a member of the American Legion Band in New Haven. She later served in the Army Reserve and attained the rank of colonel with the Civil Air Patrol Band. She was a Life Member of the New Haven Mineral Club, a Life Member of the Women Marines Association, a campaign member of the National Museum of the Marine Corps and Heritage Foundation at Quantico, VA., a member of the Association of Retired Teachers of Connecticut and a Life Member of the Association of Retired Teachers of New Haven County. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara (George M.) Chvirko of Naugatuck; two brothers, retired New Haven Police Officers William (Marilyn) Cramer of New Haven and Lawrence (Marie) Cramer of Hamden; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Chvirko; a step grandson, Gregory Chvirko; and 3 great grandchildren, Joshua, Michael and Olivia. She was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Erland.

LE VASSEUR, LOUISE

Louise Barbato LeVasseur, 91, of New Haven, passed away Dec. 10, 2008 in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the widow of Arthur W. LeVasseur. Mrs. LeVasseur was born in Hamden on March 21, 1917, daughter of the late Ernest V. and Amelia Barbato. Prior to retirement, she worked for K-Mart and was employed in the Dietary Dept. of the New Haven School System. She is survived by a daughter, Louise McKenna of New Haven; a brother, former State Senator Pasquale Barbato of Hamden; 7 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Arthur W. LeVasseur Jr.; two brothers, Charles & Domenic Barbato; and two sisters, Frances Ambrose and Rose Mirto.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bernadette’s Church Thursday Dec. 18th at 10:00. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

MESSERCOLA, MARGARET
December 6, 2008
Margaret Martino Messercola, 86, of New Haven, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Dec. 6, 2008 after a courageous battle. She was the widow of Guerino (Goody) Messercola. Mrs. Messercola was born in New Haven March 9, 1922, daughter of the late Michael and Anna Maria Saulino Martino and attended New Haven schools. Margaret was first and foremost a wife and mother, but her employment included Goodyear Rubber Co., Grace (Yale) New Haven Hospital in the dietary department as well as Harborside Arden House and the Henry Richards Co. She is survived by a son, Paul J. Messercola of New Haven; a daughter, Margaret “Peggy” (Richard) Papa of Hamden and two grandchildren, Erica Margaret Papa and Robin Lynne (Frank) Esposito of Hamden whom she loved dearly; and one brother, Dante Martino of New Haven. She was predeceased by six brothers, Ralph, Harry, Edward, Rinaldo (Ray) Al (Michael) and Fred Martino; and a sister, Lucy Aceto.

SLATER, DOROTHY

Dorothy Egan Slater, 95, of 120 Ann’s Farm Road, Hamden, went to heaven on Dec. 1, 2008. She was the devoted wife of the late William J. Slater and was a former resident of Russell St., New Haven. Born in New Haven on Jan. 5, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Whalley Egan. She is survived by a son, Thomas F. (Noreen)
Slater of Hamden; three daughters, Margaret (Dwight) Ottenbreit of New Haven, Martha (Donald) Warner of Northford and Judith (Raymond) Barera of Hamden. Also survived by 7 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren, all living in Greater New Haven. Mrs. Slater retired from Bank of Boston after 15 years in the accounting department. Active for many years in her church, she was President of the Episcopal Church Women, served on the St. James Church Vestry, was a member of St. Helena’s Altar Guild and was treasurer and head teacher of summer school for many years. She chaired many fund raising activities including church suppers, card parties, the Annual Fall Fair, Fashion Shows and the float for the Fair Haven Parade. She volunteered with her daughter at Fort Nathan Hale in the late 1980’s. She was a skilled craftswoman, creating and making handmade items which she donated to charitable organizations. An avid reader, she averaged a book a week until she was into her 90’s. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held in The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Wednesday, Dec. 3rd at 11:00 AM. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00. Interment in Green Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.

PEREZ, GILBERTO
November 30, 2008
Gilberto Perez, 59, of 25 Saltonstall Ave., New Haven passed away Nov. 30, 2008 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on Aug. 15, 1949, he was the son of Margarita Borrero of New Haven and the late Marcos Perez. He came to New Haven in the late 1960’s and was a machine operator for Rockbestos Corp. for 20 years before retiring. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Leonor Perez Vega of New Haven; a daughter, Margarita Gonzalez of New Haven; a son, Gilberto Perez of Orlando, FL.; three brothers, Marcelino Gonzalez, Fabian & Santos Perez, all in Puerto Rico; and two grandchildren, Marcus & Ethan Gonzalez.
Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend funeral services in the funeral home Thursday, Dec. 4th at 11:00. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

LEE, SIK FONG CHAN

Mrs. Sik Fong Chan Lee, 86, of 140 Howe St., New Haven, passed away at home Nov. 27, 2008. She was the widow of Wah Hee Lee. Mrs. Lee was born in China on July 2, 1922, daughter of the late Dr. Chung Chen and Yuet Kan Chan She immigrated to the United States in 1967 and was associated with her late husband in the operation of New China Restaurant on Howe St. until her retirement. She is survived by two sons, Timothy Man Chung Lee of Rego Park, N.Y. and Kut Hing Wan of North Haven; two daughters, Ruth Yeung and Dorothy Lam, both of Austin, TX.; two brothers, May Tak Chan of North Haven and Pak Lan Chan in China; one sister, Wing Lin Chan in China; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Friday from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Requiem Mass at Christ Church – Episcopal, 84 Broadway, New Haven Saturday, Dec. 6th at 12:30 pm. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

DIAMANTIS, DIMOSTHENIS
November 25, 2008
Dimosthenis Diamantis, 80, formerly of 323 First Ave., West Haven passed away Nov. 25, 2008 at home in Korifi, District of Boiou of Kozani, Greece. Born in Korifi on Jan. 30, 1928, he was the son of the late Gregorios and Evangelia Diamantis. He immigrated to the United States in 1966 and worked for HARLOC Corp., and later, for Sargent & Co. until his retirement 15 years ago. He was a member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church. He is survived by a daughter, Fedra (Nikolaos) Zikos of Orange; three grandchildren, Kathryn Zikos, George (Christina) Zikos and Angie (Niko) Haskos; 3 great grandchildren, Athanasia & Nicholas Zikos and Zoe Haskos; and brother in law, Fred (Antigony) Diamantis of New Haven.
Funeral services will be held in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange, Wednesday, Dec. 3rd at 2:00 PM. Friends may call prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 at the church. Interment in Orange Center Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church.
