In New Haven December 8, 2002, Elvira “Ellie” Brundage Budz, wife of the late Nickolas Budz of 23 Oak Ridge Rd., Branford.
Beloved mother of Charles “Chuck” Budz of Branford. Sister of Mrs. Christine Kahele of West Haven. Also survived by her nephew K. Jonathan Kahele and devoted friend Kitt E. LaBanco and many other close friends.
She was born January 27, 1928 in Meriden, daughter of the late Charles H. and Gertrude Brundage. She was a daily communicant of St. Mary Church, Branford and was a member of the Prayer Group headed by her friend Michael Ferraro. She was a retired Computer Systems Specialist for SNET where she worked for 40 years.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Friday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 - 8 PM.

Irene V. McAllister, age 68, of Fairway Lane, Seymour entered into rest on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to William McAllister. Mrs. McAllister was born in Derby on Dec. 2, 1938 daughter of the late Howard J. and Julia Sledziona Manco, Sr. and was a long time resident of Seymour.
She earned her Bachelor and Master Degree from Southern CT State Teacher’s College. She was a teacher of the visual and hearing-impaired students at Ansonia High School until her retirement in 2000.
Irene enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and preparing meals for her family. She loved to quilt, knit and crochet. She was an avid golfer and a former member of Highland Country Club.
She is the loving mother of William H. McAllister, Douglas M. McAllister and his wife Heather, Melissa Burke and her husband Raymond and Maureen Mussel and her husband Christopher, sister of Howard E. Manco, Jr. and his wife Rita and Patricia M. Tindall and her husband Donald. She is the loving grandmother of William T., Dylan J., Julia K., and Cooper D. McAllister, Maya E. Mussel, Quinnlan J. and McAllister W. Burke.
Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church. Her burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions may be made to the Irene V. Memorial Fund to benefit Visual and Hearing Impaired Student at the Ansonia High School c/o the funeral director.

In Maine June 27, 2007, David W. Allen, Sr., husband of Marian Johnson Allen of Jackman, ME, formerly of Branford.
Father of David W. (Karen) Allen, Jr., of Branford, Walter (Linda Daigle) Allen of Jackman, Dawn (William) Knowlton of Branford, Janet (Robert) Stevens of Jackman, and Janine (Joseph) Lomartra of Branford. Brother of Lester Allen of FL, Peter Allen of NH, Robert Allen of Jackman, Paul Allen and Harold Allen both of NV. Also survived by 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons, Michael, James and Kenneth Allen; a daughter, Anne Allen; four brothers Arthur, Richard, Lawrence and William Allen; and a sister Louise Lacasse.
Mr. Allen was born June 28, 1930 in Norwich, CT, son of the late Lester W. and Louise Petralj Allen. He was the owner of the former Dave Allen Excavating Co. of Branford. He was a resident of Branford for many years prior to moving to Maine last year.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Monday morning at 10:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford, and may call Sunday from 4 - 7 PM. Burial will be in Tabor Cemetery, Branford.

Sandra Blais age 59 (formerly Sandra Antollino) died December 5 at her home in Sarasota, FL. after a battle with cancer. Formerly of Hunting Ridge Farms, Branford. She leaves her husband, Roger Blais of sarasota but long a Branford resident as well. Sandra was also survived by her three children, Gregory Antollino, an attorney, and Christopher Antollino, a technologist, both of New York City; and Robin Antollino-Bukoski, a social worker from Worcester, MA. She also leaves her mother, Verda Lynn of Haworth, N.J. and two stepdaughters, Lise Koronkiewicz of North Port, Fl., and Ann Snyder of New Jersey, as well as a niece, Vanessa Lynn of Orange, N.J. She was predeceased by her father, Marshall Lynn Sr. and brother, Marshall Lynn Jr. Sandra spent most of her life in Branford, where she raised her family. While living in Branford, she was active in the League of Women Voters and local politics, running in 1990 for the Branford Representative Town Meeting. She played on local tennis and bowling leagues, and volunteered with the school system as a "hot dog lady, " room mother, Cub Scout den mother and frequent field trip chaperone. Over the years she worked for Branford Hall School of Business, H. Pierce Real Estate Company and A-Copy. Born in New York City, Sandra grew up in Haworth, N.J. She graduated from Garland Junior College in Massachusetts with a degree in marketing, and came to Branford in the 1960's. She moved to Sarasota in 1992, where she worked for, then retired from, IKON Office Solutions. An avid bridge player, she loved spending time with family, cooking and decorating for holidays.
A memorial service will be held at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St. Branford, Saturday, Dec. 13 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be sent to: Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX. 75265-0309.
