TURK
Irving Turk, 91, of Hollywood, Fla., died Thursday, March 30, 2000, in Florida. He was the husband of the late Florence (Greenwald) Turk. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived there for many years before retiring to Florida 25 years ago. For 40 years he worked as a dress cutter in the New York garment industry.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Carol and Michael and Madeline; his nephew, Stanley; his grandchildren, Andrea, Fran, Craig, Laura, and David; his great-grandchildren, Mathew, Adam, Andrew, Alec, and Benjamin; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, in B'nai Jacob Joeseph/Washington Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y.
A memorial period will be observed at the home of his son, Michael, at 10 Valerie Drive, Vernon, through Wednesday evening.

VENNART
Elmer G. Vennart, 72, of Manchester, husband of the late Norma (Prentice) Vennart, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Farmington at the home of his daughter.
He was born in Manchester on August 14, 1927, son of the late Frederick and Minnie (McDowell) Vennart and had been a lifelong resident.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and before his retirement in 1987 was employed as a Purchasing Agent for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, having been with the company for over 30 years.
He was a member of the South United Methodist Church and the Army & Navy Club of Manchester, and was a former volunteer fireman at Station No. 1 in Manchester.
He is survived by two daughters, Marsha V. Olson and her husband, John, of Belchertown, Mass., and Karen V. Peltzer of Farmington; two grandchildren, Kristin L. Olson of Boston, and Lindsey B. Peltzer of Farmington. He was predeceased by four brothers, Clarence, Robert, Donald, and Stuart Vennart.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 4, 10 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will be in East Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
LEVINE
Bridget (McDonald) Levine, 99, of Vernon, widow of Herbert Levine, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at a local convalescent home.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Gould, of Vernon.
A funeral service will be private. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours.
The Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., in the Rockville section of Vernon, has charge of arrangements.
PALLIARDI
Edward R. Palliardi, 58, of Manchester, died unexpectedly Friday, March 17, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Sanok, Poland on January 25, 1942, son of the late Rudolf and Apolonia (Drwienga) Palliardi, and had lived in Enfield. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. with the 6th Fleet from 1962 to 1966. Ed was the owner and operator of Atlas Window Cleaning Co. of Manchester since 1958, when he started his business. He attended St. James Church, Manchester.
Mr. Palliardi is survived by his wife, Dorothy Palliardi, a daughter, Heidi Palliardi, a son, Christopher Palliardi, all of Enfield; two sisters, Hedy Palliardi of Manchester and Janina Doskoska of Sanok, Poland; five brothers, Leo Palliardi of Manchester, Steven Palliardi of Storrs, Joseph Palliardi and Frank Palliardi, both of Manchester, and Peter Palliardi of Aurora, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 21 at 8:15 a.m. at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester. Burial with military honors will be in Townsend Cemetery, Andover. BALBONI
Margaret (Kelley) Balboni, 76, of Manchester, the widow of Anthony "Tony" Balboni, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Rockville General Hospital.
Born and raised in Hartford, she had lived in Manchester for the past 48 years. "Kelley" was formerly employed by the Wise-Smith Co. and was a past member of both the St. Bridget and St. Bartholomew Church Mother's Circle. During World War II, she was an active Civil Defense volunteer.
Margaret is survived by her children and their spouses: Edith and Glenn Tracy of Manchester, Diane and James Wadsworth of Stafford Springs, and Raymond and Gloria Balboni of Pomfret Center; her grandchildren, Lee and Amber Tracy, Shelli Faford, Jennifer Balboni, and Drew Wadsworth; her great-grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Shane, Brandon, Anastasia, Ashley, and Kristin; her sisters, Rose Judd of West Hartford and Loretta Dumas, of Hartford and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Jean Cockerham.
Besides her husband, Margaret was predeceased by her brother, Edward Kelley, and her sister, Eleanor Godden.
The funeral service will be on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church with burial in East Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

HAVENS
Dorothy (Mancini) Havens, 69, of Windsor, left this life peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2000, after a two-year battle with cancer. She was the widow of George Havens.
Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., daughter of the late James and May (Sharples) Mancini, she had lived in West Hartford for many years, moving to Windsor 44 years ago. She was a graduate of William Hall High School, Class of 1949, in West Hartford, and was active on the reunion committee, celebrating a 50th class reunion last fall with many of her classmates.
She was a communicant of St. Gertrude's Church in Windsor and an active member of the Hartford Christian Women's Club, the AARP, Windsor Chapter No. 1101, the Windsor Golden Fellowship, and was a volunteer at the Windsor Library, Foodshare, Mt. Sinai Hospital, and the Greater Hartford Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center in Windsor. She was involved with the ABC Quilts, with whom she made more than 300 quilts for AIDS babies.
She leaves two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon Lee Havens of Baltimore, MD., Deborah and Drake Klotzman of North Granby; her two beloved grandchildren, the light of her day, Stephen F. Klotzman and Sarah M. Klotzman; and dearest friends, Phyllis and Burt Russell of Rocky Hill. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Louis J. Mancini, and a sister, Michelle Lee MacKinnon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, at 9:15 a.m. from the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Gertrude Church in Windsor. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. MUISE
Fred "Tootie" Muise, of Ft. Pierce, FL., died peacefully at home on March 15, 2000, surrounded by his adoring family. Tootie was a very happy, gentle soul who would never let anything get him down. If ever an angel walked on this earth, surely it was him.
He was born June 3, 1925 in Gloucester, MA. and worked at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford for 32 years. He lived in Longmeadow, Mass. and Enfield before retiring to Florida. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and fought in France before being honorably discharged from his service.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Sandra Muise of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; his mother Margaret Doucette; a brother John Muise Jr.; four sisters, Dorothy, Barbara, Murielle, and Pauline, all of Gloucester; a son and his wife, Steve and Chris Muise of Essex, MA.; six daughters, Susan Hill and her husband, Kevin, of Broad Brook, Janis Albaugh and her husband, Brent, of Columbus, Ohio, Beryl Hartford and her husband, Carroll, Lynne Matthews and her husband, Don, Diana Akin and her husband, John, and Beth Osip, all of Ft. Pierce; two sons, Tommy Craaybeek of Texas and Perry Craaybeek of Ft. Pierce. He also leaves 15 adoring grandchildren including Napolean, Jennifer, Amanda, and Jared Tetreault, all of Broad Brook, and Sara Hebert, Chris Craaybeek, Jennifer, and Kristina Fleming, and also Mike Osip, all of Enfield. The remaining grandchildren live in Ft. Pierce.

those who had the honor and privilege of having him in their lives.
TROUGHTON
William J. (Billy) Troughton, 45, of 10 Burns Ave., Enfield, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford. Born in Hartford, son of Thomas G. Troughton and the late Kathleen Foley Troughton, Billy resided in Enfield for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the AMVETS Post 18 Enfield, and a member of St. Patrick Church. He was formerly employed by the state Dept. of Corrections and later by the U.S. Postal Service in Windsor Locks. Billy is survived by his fiancee, Jean Orefice; a son, Luke Troughton of Somers; two brothers, Ted and Thomas Troughton, both of Enfield; a sister, Nancy Troughton Handley, of Enfield; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Monday, 6 to 9 p.m., at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Burial will be with military honors on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Cemetery. FOSTER
Evelyn L. Foster, beloved wife of Walter G. Foster, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Hartford Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in an accident. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always had room for one more at the table.
She was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Manchester and spent her 54 years of married
life at home on the farm in South Windsor. She was a 50-year member of the church choir, taught Sunday School, and was a youth fellowship leader. She was a FISH volunteer and a YMCA leader. Besides her husband, Walter, she is survived by six children and their spouses, Walter and Cynthia Foster, Katherine and James Donatello, David and Gay Foster, Tricia and Ralph Graner, April and Paul Mader; a brother and his wife, John and Helen McHugh.
After her husband and children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Her grandchildren: Samantha, Nathan, Jonathan, Benjamin, Jordan, and Casey Foster, Michael and Diane Donatello, Brian and Crystal Donatello, Matthew, Amanda, and Scott Graner, Carolyn and Richard Guastamachio, Christopher and Nicholas Mader; also dear to her were Kelly Kology and Carrie Kausch; her great grandchildren, Julia, Michael, and Cameron Donatello, and Jack Guastamachio.
A memorial service will be Monday, March 20, at 1 p.m. at the Wapping Community Church, 1790 Ellington Road, South Windsor. Her family will receive friends Sunday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Samsel and Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. BAZZANO
Louis J. Bazzano Jr., beloved husband of Deborah Namnoum of Newington, died on Monday, April 17, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta.
Born at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford on July 25, 1955, the son of Louis J. Bazzano Sr. and the late Joan (Murphy) Bazzano, Lou was educated in the Newington public schools where he was highly respected as a student and athlete. At Newington High School, he had an enjoyable career as a standout in varsity basketball and baseball. In his senior year, Lou was honored with the Coach's Award in basketball, named a Central Valley Conference All Star in baseball, and was selected for the state CIAC East baseball team. He also participated in American Legion baseball and was named Newington's Most Valuable Player in 1974.
Upon graduation, Lou received an athletic scholarship to attend Stetson University in Deland, Fla., earning a bachelor of arts degree in physical education in 1978. While at Stetson, Lou excelled as a second baseman, receiving the university's Outstanding Effort and Most Valuable Player awards in baseball. Following graduation, he taught physical education at St. Mary School and coached freshman soccer and baseball at Newington High School. In September 1980, Lou was appointed to his longtime teaching position in the Vernon public schools to teach physical education at Center Road Elementary and Vernon Center Middle schools and to serve as assistant baseball coach at Rockville High School. During the summer months, Lou and his partner ran intramural sports programs, most notably, the "Catch the Fever Baseball Camp" established to help the young children of Vernon learn and improve their baseball skills. In 1989, he earned a master of science degree in physical education from Central Connecticut State University. For many years Lou played for the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League, earning the Hall of Fame Golden Glove award in 1992. He was invited to participate in two tryouts with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
In January 1981, Lou was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, which he battled valiantly for almost 20 years. His family, friends, students, and colleagues loved Lou dearly. He touched the hearts of all that knew him. He was admired for his kindness and the courageous and positive attitude he displayed in his ongoing battle with Hodgkins. Lou will be forever remembered for the fortitude he displayed following treatments by continuing to teach and coach the young people he loved and treasured. His wife and his family are eternally grateful for the overwhelming support from the Vernon school system and community. A testament to the admiration for Lou by the Vernon youths was evidenced by the "LB" patches each Rockville High baseball player wears on his uniform, dedicating this season to Lou's fight against this disease.
Lou leaves his wife of 15 years, whom he cherished dearly and who will miss him very much. He also leaves his father and four siblings, Jeffrey and AnnMarie LaGrange of Windsor Locks, James and Margaret Bazzano, Anthony and Loreen Klotz of Newington, and Elaine McDonald of Key Largo, Fla.; his maternal grandmother, Anna Murphy of Hartford; his devoted in-laws, John and Lucille Namnoum of Newington, and their children, Edward and Jodie Ingalls of Newington, The Doctors, James and Anne Namnoum of Atlanta, Ga., and Karen Namnoum of Marblehead, Mass.; a grandmother, Carmela Telesca of Newington; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 29, from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Willard Avenue, Newington.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the funeral home.

BOWEN
Frank L. Bowen of Nevada, formerly of Coventry, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in California.
Frank was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Hartford, son of the late Raymond R. and Cora (Sutton) Bowen. Frank grew up in Coventry, moving out West 44 years ago. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea.
Frank is survived by two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Maurice French of Manchester, and Lorraine and Talcott Clapp of South Windsor; 10 nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and many friends.
A military graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, at Grant Hill Cemetery, Coventry.
