Yvonne C. Cobb,
former Sussex resident
Yvonne C. Cobb, 83, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and formerly of Dagsboro, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in the Martin Medical Center in Stuart, Fla.
She was born in Frankford, daughter of the late Norwood and Eva (Long) Chamberlain.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Dagsboro.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roland V. Cobb; a daughter, Suzanne Berry and her husband Bill of Lewes; a son, Gregory Cobb and his wife Lyn of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Rufnak and her husband Jason, Lisa Berry and her fiancé Conrad Bennett, all of Washington, D.C., Jordan Cobb, Brennan Cobb and Andrea Cobb, all of San Diego.
A funeral service was held in the Bethel United Methodist Church, Dagsboro. Burial was in Prince George’s cemetery in Dagsboro.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Yvonne’s memory to, Prince George’s Chapel, c/o Town of Dagsboro, P.O. Box 420, Dagsboro, DE 19939.

Stephen L. Corrado,
former DCA president
Stephen L. Corrado, 64 of North East, Md., peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family on Friday, June 15, 2007.
Steve was born on Sept. 29, 1942, and raised in the Little Italy neighborhood of Wilmington. He was a 1960 graduate of Salesianum High School and received his associate’s degree from Goldey-Beacom College.
He started his career at the family business, Corrado Brothers, and later established Site Development with his father and brothers. He went on to become president of Delaware Contractors and served a term as president of DCA. Later he worked for VFL Technologies and most recently established S & L Contracting. He moved his family to North East, Md., in 1976 to enjoy a life on the North East waterfront.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, always putting his family first. He took great pride in his seven children and 11 grandchildren. He enjoyed his wife’s Italian cooking and eating out, especially at the Charcoal Pit where he and Louise were engaged in 1963. He enjoyed racing his speedboats, especially his custom-made boat with a Corvette engine. He also had a great love for drag racing, both as a participant and spectator.

He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Corrado Sr., and his father-in-law, John Malatesta of Wilmington.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Louise Malatesta Corrado of North East, Md.; his mother, Helen Greggo Corrado, and mother-in-law, Nell Resine Malatesta, both of Wilmington; his children, Pam McCoy, her husband Gary and children Erica, Kyle and Alec of Rehoboth Beach; Stephen Corrado Jr., his wife Jacqueline and son Cameron of Newark; Michael Corrado, his wife Renee, and children Tyler, Erin, Andrew and Adam of Fair Hill, Md.; Mark Corrado of Elkton, Md.; Ame Corrado and her children Lauren, Katelyn and Nicholas of Elkton, Md.; Lyn Corrado of Bethesda, Md.; and Joy Corrado of Baltimore, Md.; his siblings, Larry Corrado Jr. and his late wife Polly of Wilmington; Joseph Corrado and wife Veronica of Hockessin; Anthony Corrado and wife Dottie of Wilmington; Betty DiClemente and husband Bert of Hockessin; and Robert Corrado and wife Lisa of Elkton, Md.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont sts. in Wilmington, Entombment will follow in Cathedral cemetery . Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday morning, prior to service, from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers and Mass cards, contributions can be sent to First Assembly of God Church, c/o Steve Corrado Defibrillator Fund, 290 Whitehall Road, Elkton, MD 21921.

Gary Dean Leonard,
construction worker
Gary Dean Leonard, 22, of Millsboro, died Tuesday June 12, 2007, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Dec. 20, 1984, in Martinsville, Ind. He worked in construction and enjoyed listening to rock music.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Gary A. and Deva Leonard of Martinsville, Ind.; his mother and stepfather, Wanda and Daniel Collison of Millsboro; two sons, Gary Dean Leonard Jr., and Bryce Thomas Leonard at home; friend and partner, Jessica Willey of Millsboro; two brothers, Denver Collison of Indianapolis, Ind., and Walter Jenkins of Manassas, Va.; and four sisters, Sarah Hudson of Millsboro, Bonnie Henselmeier of Dover, Heather Collison of Millsboro and Lois Mentzer of Manassas, Va.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Sunday June 17, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Long Neck Road in Millsboro.
Friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 16, and again on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Dagsboro Redmen’s Memorial cemetery.

Bertha E. Hood,
Dickerson AME member
Bertha E. Hood, 81, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie James and Mary Elizabeth Harmon; three brothers, Jessie Hood, Francis Hood and Raymond Hood of Millsboro; and three sisters, Carrie Borkins, Marie Hood and Viola Hood.
She is survived by her special nieces, Marie and Lottie; her special friend Wally; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Miss Hood was a member of Dickerson AME Chapel. She was a lifelong resident, working 35 years for Draper King Cole of Milton, and J.G. Townsend Inc. of Georgetown.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, June 18, at Harmony cemetery , Millsboro. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro.
The Rev. Marcus Briddell will officiate. Interment will be in Harmony cemetery , Millsboro.
Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.

Joan B. Grier,
insurance adjustor
Joan B. Grier, 74, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Bellevue Manor in Wilmington, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at her home.
Mrs. Grier was born in Wilmington on Jan. 29, 1933, daughter of the late James and Gladys Faulkner Brindle.
A gifted homemaker, she also worked professionally as a claims adjuster in the insurance industry and served as a docent at the Brandywine Zoo.
Mrs. Grier was an incredibly talented baker who prepared beautiful, creative cakes for all family occasions. She enjoyed many types of arts and crafts, especially sewing, and delighted in trips to the beach with her beloved family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Francis A. Grier, in 2005.
She is survived by four children, Cynthia F. Temple and her husband John of Townsend, Kathryn G. Burke and her husband Robert of Wilmington, David J. Grier of Rehoboth Beach and James J. Grier and his wife Denise of Elkton, Md.; six grandchildren, Jason and Josh Volk, Adam and Lindsey Temple and Megan and Devon Grier; a great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Scott; and her loving dog, Sneezy.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call after 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Southern Division, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Frank A. Levitski,
Scott Paper retiree
Frank A. Levitski, 86, of Macungie, Pa., formerly of Millsboro, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of the late Anne Olszewski Levitski.
Born in Mocanaqua, Frank was the son of the late George and Helen Zaleski Lewicki.
He was employed with Scott Paper for many years before retiring. Frank was a first lieutenant with the 300th Combat Engineers in World War II, landing in Normandy and seeing action in the European Campaign.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7447 in Rehoboth Beach and a longtime member of the American Legion. He was also a Third Degree Knight of Columbus and a volunteer at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Frank is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Georgiane and Rick Venish of Middletown and Yvonne and Greg McNulty of Macungie; his brothers, John of Forty Fort, Pa., and Paul of Berwick, Pa.; a sister, Helen Klem of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Levitski.
Services were held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Emmaus. Burial was in Lawn Croft cemetery , Linwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, Allentown.

Hilda Marie Warrington,

Hilda Marie Warrington, 91, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.
Hilda was co-owner of Skyways Airport in Selbyville with her husband Manaen for over 60 years. She was a devoted mother and wife who loved to crochet, garden and was famous for her pumpkin pie. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Willards, Md.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George S. and Lavina Lynch Quillen; husband Manaen F. Warrington who passed in 1995; a son, Manaen F. Warrington Jr. in 1997; and one grandson, Hayward Ralph Daisey, who passed in 2004.
She is survived by her children, Wayne E. and wife Ruth E. Warrington of Hebron Md., Frank R. and wife Shirley Frances Warrington of Delmar, John H. Warrington of Salisbury, Md., Marie W. and husband Jack Rogers of Georgetown, and Mary H. and husband William Preston Cordrey of Georgetown; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Serivces will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call at 10 a.m. The Rev. David Herr will officiate. Burial will be in St. Georges cemetery , Clarksville.
Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.

Josephine B. Joslin,
Junior League member
Josephine Baily Joslin, 93, of Rehoboth Beach, died on Monday, June 11, 2007, in Rehoboth Beach.
Mrs. Joslin was born Oct. 17, 1913 in Wilmington, daughter of the late James Ralph Baily and Daisey Brooke Hill Baily.
She attended Tower Hill School in Wilmington and Stuart Hall School in Stanton, Va. Mrs. Joslin was a member of the Junior League of Wilmington and The Colonial Dames. She relocated to Rehoboth Beach from Wilmington in 1992.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Joslin was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hawes Joslin, in 1985.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne Joslin Hubbard and her husband Paull of Rehoboth Beach; two sons, Theodore Goldsmith Joslin of New Castle, and Richard Hawes Joslin Jr. and his wife Ruth Ann, of King of Prussia, Pa; a sister, Elizabeth Baily Siner of Winter Park, Fla.; five grandchildren, Joslin Hubbard Nagle, Paull Fife Hubbard Jr., Theodore Joslin III, Brooke Joslin Cook and Stephen Dorsey Joslin; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16, at Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green, New Castle, 100 Harmony St., New Castle. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

Francis S. Nero,
retired woodworker
Francis S. Nero, 86, of Laurel went to be with the Lord Monday, June 11, 2007, in Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md.
He was born in Whitesville, Md. to the late G. Santo Nero and Teodora Nero.
Francis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and patriot. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army’s 4th Infantry Division 12th Regiment. He received two Purple Hearts, five Bronze Battle Stars and a Presidential Citation for outstanding military service. Mr. Nero’s division served in the Battle of the Bulge and many battles along the France-Germany borders. His military accomplishments spotlighted him in a movie “Delaware: Voices of World War II.”
He retired as a cabinetmaker and woodworker in 1985. He was also known for his vegetable stand on Broadcreek Road and his award-winning tomatoes and corn. He attended Trinity UM Church in Laurel, American Legion Post 18 and the Laurel Senior Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rosalie Nero, in 2006.
He is survived by his son, Frank Nero of New Jersey; his daughter, Cynthia Matthews and her husband, Michael of Laurel; grandchildren, Sally Nero and Deborah Nero of New Jersey and Alexander Matthews of Laurel; brothers, Tony and Nick Nero of Laurel and Joe Nero of Florida; sisters, Mary Galbriath and Elizabeth West of Lewes; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, in Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West St., Laurel. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Tina Whaley will officiate.
Interment with full military honors will follow at Odd Fellows cemetery , Laurel.
Instead of flowers, donations can be made in his name to: Coastal Hospice at the Lake, 2604 Old Ocean City Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.

Alton Walker,
Apostolic Faith member
Alton Walker, 93, of Frankford, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Green Valley Terrace, Millsboro.
Alton was the son of the late Abraham and Annie Davis Walker, and was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Millsboro.
He is survived by his sisters, Essie Atkins of Frankford and Lollie Phillips of Coral City, Fla.; and Ernst Walker of Ft. Lauderdale Fla; as well many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 15, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be private.
Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.

Larry E. Crain,
served as mechanic
Larry E. Crain, 60, of Lewes, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Crain was born December 22, 1946, in Elkton, Md., son of the late Joseph and Diana (Boyce) Crain.
Mr. Crain had been employed as a generator mechanlc by Delaware National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post 17, where he previously served on the board of directors for five years. In addition, he was a member of the Moose Lodge, Lewes, and VFW Post 7444. He served honorably with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved his children and grandchildren, and “The Price is Right” TV game show.
Mr. Crain is survived by three daughters, Kristina Crain of Millsboro, Laurie Hulbert of Harbeson and Treasa McElhenny of Lewes; one son, Dwayne Terry of Lewes; seven grandchildren; his former wife Darlene Crain; a sister, Shirley Gregson and her husband Joe of Elkton, Md.; and two brothers, William H. Crain and his wife Oleda of Townsend and Vic Crain and his wife Mary of Elkton.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Friday, June 15, 2007, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. A reception will be held at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 17, American Legion Drive, Lewes. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery , 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
