Clark, Roger

Roger Clark of Felton, DE died on August 1, 2002 at home. He was 44 years old. Cause of death has not yet been determined.

Mr. Clark was born on December 10, 1957 in Elkton, Maryland to Durant H. Clark, Jr. and Frances Rolfe Clark. He was educated in the Capitol School System, graduating from Dover High School in 1975. He attended the University of Delaware.

He was owner and operator of Clarky’s Dry Wall Service in Felton, DE.

He was an avid golfer. He loved reading, especially science fiction, and also loved writing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Durant H. Clark, Jr. in 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Reid Hall of Felton; his mother, Frances Clark of Dover; two brothers, D.H. Clark III of Hartly and Ralph Clark of Dover; two sisters, Linda Yancy of Dover and Nancy Mullins of Houston, DE; three nephews, Jason Clark of Dover, Samuel Mullins of Houston, and Nate Borowski of Dover; and a niece, Paige Yancy of Dover. .

A Gathering of Friends to remember the life of Roger will be held on Tuesday, August 6th at 2pm at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 South Bradford Street, Dover. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Nielsen, Agnes Meyer

AGNES M. MEYER NIELSEN, OF ELLENDALE, AGE 67 DIED SATURDAY MARCH 12, 2001 AT BAY HEALTH AT MILFORD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

SERVICES WILL BE 2:00 P. M. ON TUESDAY 3/13/01 AT SHORT FUNERAL SERVICES INC., 416 FEDERAL STREET , MILTON, DELAWARE WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL MONDAY EVENING FROM 6 TO 8 P. M. AND TUESDAY FROM 12 TO 2:00 P. M. BURIAL WILL BE IN ODD FELLOWS CEMETERY, MILTON.

Carrie L. Bush

Age 34, of New Castle, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carrie was a devoted wife and loving mom. She was employed with DuPont for 15 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with her family and the family dog Cheerio. She was recently enrolled at Immaculata College.

She is survived by her husband, Brian R. Bush; her daughter Kristi; and son Trevor, her mother Ellen F. Burk; her brother Michael T. Burk; her sister Sandi L. Quirk; her mother and father-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Bush. She was predeceased by her father Walter W. Burk and longtime pet dog, T-Bone. She will be dearly missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her celebration of life on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 am at DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, where friends may call after 8:30. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.

A trust fund has been opened for the children's education at Wilmington Trust where donations can be made at any branch, or a donation may be made to the American Cancer Societey, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.

Dana Andrew Tilley

Age 35, beloved husband of Kelly A. Tilley, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 after a long illness.

Dana was a devoted husband, father, and a dedicated brother and Kelly's best friend. He was an avid carpenter, enjoyed gardening, loved taking his family out on the boat, enjoyed playing video games with his children and was proud of his children's sporting events.

He was predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Norma Tilley and his nephew, Robert Zorger. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kelly A. Tilley; his daughter, Chasitie Lynn Tilley; his sons, Joshua Isaac and Robert Andrew Tilley all at home. His sisters, Joyce Nicholson, Patricia Samson and her husband John, Sandra DiMaio and her husband John all of Newark, DE; brother William Tilley and his wife Val of Cabin Creek, WV; brother David Tilley and sister Irene Tilley both of Elkton, MD, brother, Terry Tilley of Newark, DE; his father and mother-in-law, Harvey and Anne Fisher; his sisters-in-law, Kim Arnold and her husband Jerry and Kerry Fisher; his brother-in-law, Harvey Fisher and his wife Sherri; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, July 12 at 8 pm at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek where friends may call after 6. Burial will be in WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the National Fibromyalgia Research Association, PO Box 500 Salem, OR 97308.

Berry, Jr, Costen Harrell "HAL"
Air Force

Costen Harrell Berry, Jr. "Hal" of Middletown died Tuesday July 9, 2002 at Christiana Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 54.

Mr. Berry was born on April 22, 1948 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to Costen H. Berry, Sr. & Sarah Olive Berry. Hal and his wife Debra lived in Delaware a total of more than 25 years during their marriage of 31 years.

Hal worked as an electronic and computer technician for a number of firms in Delaware and Virginia, finally retiring from work life in 1997.

He served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Dover and served briefly in Vietnam. Hal most loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and captained a number of sailboats over the years - with "Meridian" being his current love. He was a charter member of the Blue Hen Power Squadron in Dover.

Mr. Berry is survived by his wife of 31 years Debra Nolette Berry; his parents Costen Berry, Sr. and Sarah Berry of Mebane, North Carolina; 1 brother, Ken Berry of Mebane, North Carolina; 1 sister, Joan Rummel of Alpharetta, Georgia; Marjorie Nolette and the entire Nolette family, and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, July 12, 2002 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 South Bradford Street, Dover, Delaware. Friends may call at 1:00 PM at the funeral chapel.

A Memorial Service will also be held at Mebane United Methodist Church, 4th Street, Mebane, North Carolina on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane, North Carolina prior to the Memorial for immediate family. There will also be committal to the Chesapeake Bay at a later time.

Morlock, Letricia King

Letricia King Morlock of Milford formally of North Carolina, died Tuesday July 9, 2002 at her home. She was 69.

Mrs. Morlock was born September 10, 1932 in Bridgeville to Otis Harrison King and Nora Jane Powell King.

She worked as a Real estate Broker for about 15 years. She was a Minister for the Universal Life Church. She was part of Helping Hands and Silva Mind Control, where she taught how to use your mind.

She is survived by 1 sister; Barbara Colvin of Milford; 3 brothers, Gary King of Seaford, Verrel King of Orange, Texas and Joseph King of Smyrna.

Funeral Services will be private.

Dwight, Theodore

Theodore “Ted” Dwight, the son of the late Ozzie and Lilly Berry Dwight, was born June 14, 1922 in Charleston, South Carolina. He departed this life on Wednesday June 12, 2002. His first wife, Rosetta Dwight is deceased.

Theodore received his early education in Charleston, South Carolina. He moved to Atlanta Georgia in 1960, where he met and married Louise Hill Woodard, his “Georgia Sweetheart” in 1961. Theodore and his wife moved to Wilmington, Delaware where he was employed with Daisy Construction Company, until his health failed.

Theodore was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church, where the late Rev. John C. Woodard was pastor at the time. He was also a member of the choir. Theodore was a foster parent for the State of Delaware beginning in 1967. Theodore and his wife took care of several foster children and were recognized with an award form the state in 1986. His favorite hobby was fishing with his children, grandchildren and friends. He loved gardening, cooking, fixing cars and helping others in need.

Theodore leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years Louise, 3 daughters; Gwendolyn Flint of North Charleston, SC, Cassandra Clark of Wilmington, DE and DeMona Rogers-Daniels of New Castle, DE, 2 sons; Herman Dwight of Loraine OH and Theodore S. Dwight of Youngstown, OH, 2 brothers; James Dwight of Englewood, NJ and Charles Dwight of the Bronx, NY, one brother-in-law, Willie Lee Woodard of Wilmington, DE, 2 sisters-in-law; Gladys Dwight of Englewood, NJ and Maudell Woodard of Wilmington, DE. Sixteen grandchildren, Lillian DeFrance, Crystal Davis, Victoria Williams, Annette Dwight, Antoinette Simpkins, Elbert Simpkins, Charles Simpkins, Theodore Dwight III, Leslie Dwight, James Dwight, Tony Clark, James Clark, Janai Clark, Diara Rogers, Damani Rogers, and Delia Daniels, a grandson-in-law, Gary DeFrance, 19 great-grandchildren. One aunt, Mary Dwight and a host of other family members and friends. Mr. Dwight is also preceded in death by his daughter Della Dwight-Saunders, a son Ted “Little Toe” Dwight, a brother-in-law Henry Woodard, grandchildren John Osburn, Jr. and Edward Dwight.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday June 21 at 11:00AM in the Peoples Baptist Church, 50 South Street, New Castle DE where a visitation will be held beginning at 10AM. Burial will follow.

Odette Habash

Mrs. Odette Habash, 72 died on Friday February 27, 2009, in Princeton, NJ.

She was born in Jerusalem, Palestine and lived in Jordan for many years before coming to the United States. Odette was a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband, Shafiq Habashl; her son, George Habash; her brother, Stephan Habash and her son-in-law, George Shahwan. Surviving are her daughters, Sofy Shahwan of Bear, DE, Sana and husband Victor Hanhan of San Diego, CA, Sawsan and husband Michael Fakes of Belle Mead, NJ, Sonia and husband George Hamaty of Woolwich, NJ and Maha and husband Kevin Fengler of Wilmington, DE.

A Mass will be Tuesday, March 3, at 11 am, in St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, Wilmington, DE. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. Relatives and friends may visit from 10-11 am, in the Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the HILLSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 796 Rt. 206, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.

James E. Harris

Age 81, husband of Sandra, died February 26, 2009. Funeral 10am, Wed., March 4, at Elizabeth Spiritual Worship Center, 2407 Silverside Rd, Wilm. Viewing 9-10am. Burial Delaware Vets Cemetery.

Marie (Roy) Harrison

Marie Harrison, age 73 passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, February 26, 2009, while watching her favorite TV show "General Hospital".

Marie was born in Wilmington on May 8, 1935 to the late Lillian Roy Gestwicki and grew up in the Rockford Park area. She graduated from Wilmington High School and married shortly thereafter. Marie was an avid reader, had a beautiful singing voice and loved Engelbert Humperdink. She was a warm, caring person with the soul of an angel and the wisdom of an owl. She was deeply devoted to her 7 children and 5 grandchildren, all of whom feel very blessed to have been wrapped in her loving spirit.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jeffrey C. Harrison and by her cousin and lifetime best friend, Lillian Roy Ivone, whom she missed terribly. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Kevin Harrison and Linda Harrison of Newark, DE, Stanley Harrison of South Plainfield, NJ, Steven Harrison of Clearwater, FL, Denise Johnson and her husband, Bob of Elkton, MD, Joanne Harrison and Jeffrey Harrison, both of Newark, DE; 5 grandchildren, Eric and Christopher Swincki, Nicholas and Sarah Johnson and Amber Potts; her former son-in-law, Raymond Swincki of Newark, DE and her sister-in-law, Patricia Gestwicki of Bear, DE.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 8 pm at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, where friends may visit after 6 pm. Burial will be private.

Jean V. Hitchens

Age 65, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Funeral, 11 am, Wednesday, March 4, Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher St., Frankford, DE. Visitation after 10 am.

Dr. Arthur D. Olin

Age 80, died at his home in Newark, DE, on March 1, 2009, with his loving family by his side.

Dr. Olin, who was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Rutgers University. He was a Senior Research Chemist for Ciba-Geigy Chemical Corporation for 28 years, made numerous contributions to books and research publications and was a board member of the American Chemical Society. Dr. Olin also taught at local universities and high schools. A Lakewood, New Jersey resident for many years, Dr. Olin was a longtime member of the Kimball Medical Center Board of Trustees and the Lakewood Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was an ardent spokesman for progressive and ethical causes. According to his beloved wife, Dorothy, "He loved his family, sailing and science. He was a brilliant, loving and witty man. And his smile could melt everything." His first wife, Toby Olin, died in 1996. In addition to wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his brother, Reuel; his children, Beth, Judith, and Nancy stepchildren, Adina and Joseph and 7 grandchildren.

Shiva to be held at 7 pm, March 3 and 4 at 303 Country Club Drive, Newark, DE.
