Nathaniel S. "Sonny" Rush

Age 64 of Wilmington, DE passed away on Monday, August 30, 2004.

His mother, Reba Coffman; Elwood Coffman; and paternal father, James Williams preceded him in death. He is survived by his maternal sister, Elaine Rush; paternal sister; Janice Williams; 4 nieces, Daria Rush, Teresa Rush, Donna Rush and Dawn Rush Dickerson; 3 aunts; cousins; great-nieces; nephews; and friends.

The service will be held at St. Paul UAME Church, 3114 Market Street at 7 pm on Tuesday, September 7, 2004, with a viewing from 5-7 pm. Interment will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Age 34 passed away suddenly Aug. 31, 2004 in Christiana Hospital.

Beloved father of Nicole Destiny G�de of Nuremberg, Ger-many. Loving son of Rachel E. and Robert W. Allen, Jr. & the late Aaron L.V. Ward. Bro-ther of Shawn Taylor, Kitina Powell, Robert W. Allen III, Aaron L. V. Ward, IV, Simone Roundtree, Mary Satterfield, Richard Allen, Robert Hill & Ernest Allen; grandson of George Claiborne & the late Dorothy Barner; Aaron L.V. Ward & Gene Ward. Also survived by his devoted fianc�e, Jacqueline Bowmen; 2 brothers-in-law; 4 sisters-in-law; & a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

Homegoing service 7 pm Wed., Sept. 8, at Church of the Living Word, 816 S. Heald St., with viewing 5-7 pm. Burial Thurs. in DE Vets Mem. Cem., Bear. Arr. by CONGO F.H.

Edward W. Zaremba

Age 86 of Wilmington, DE, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2004.

A mass will be offered Tuesday morning September 7, 2004 at 9:30 am in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church with burial to follow in Cathedral cemetery. Family and friends may call Monday evening from 7-9 for visitation at the JOHN F. YASIK FUNERAL HOME, 607 S. Harrison Street.

William J. Doyle

Age 83 of Wilmington, DE, devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2004.

Mr. Doyle was a process supervisor for Getty Oil in Delaware City for 44 years, retiring in 1983.

He earned his BS degree in chemical engineering from Brooklyn Poly Tech and was a licensed professional engineer for the State of Delaware.

He was chairman of the bingo committee at St. John the Beloved Church, a WWII Army veteran, and an avid gardener and reader.

He was an active member of the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, where he volunteered for many church activities.

He is survived by his son, Michael P. Doyle and his wife, Michelle, of Wilmington, DE, and their children, Michael R. and William T. Doyle; his daughters, Mary Frances Klein and her husband, Stanley, of Wilmington, DE and their children, Miranda Brewer, Michael W. Mahon, Christine Klein, Amy Benton, Andrew Klein and Timothy Klein; Kathleen Uniacke and her husband, Rev. Neil Uniacke, of Lancaster County, PA and their children, Sarah R., Adam B., Jessica M. and Leah G. Uniacke; and Karen Doyle of Tacoma, WA and her daughter, Analisa Doyle; his sister, Debbie Moran of Broomall, PA; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Doyle; and his sister, Agnes Bannon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 17, at 10:30 am at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 6th & West Sts., Wilmington, where friends may call after 9:30 am.

Entombment will be in All Saints cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Cathedral of St. Peter School, 301 W. 6th St., Wilmington, DE 19801.

Boyd W. "Chip" Wicks, Jr.

Sergeant, United States Marine Corps Boyd W. "Chip" Wicks, Jr., age 23 of Wilmington, DE died February 27, 2004.

Chip was a 1999 graduate of Concord High School, where he played guard for 3 years on the varsity Concord Raiders football team.

He also played lacrosse and baseball while at Concord.

After graduation, Chip joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served our country for 4 years, serving in Okinawa, Guam, Iwo Jima, Australia, Kuwait and Iraq.

Chip was a sergeant in the infantry 1/5 Marines - the first Marine ground combat unit in Iraq during the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a squad leader, certified scuba diver, and small arms instructor.

Most recently, Chip was enrolled full time at the Del Tech Stanton Campus.

He will fondly be remembered as a tough Marine, who looked out for his buddies, a generous friend who loved spending time with his friends, and a good-hearted son who loved his family.

Chip is survived by his parents, Boyd W., Sr. and Paula Dunford Wicks; 3 sisters, Michelle M. Wicks, Annemarie E. Wicks and Suzanne M. Wicks; his maternal grandparents, James and Janette Dunford; and his nephew, Joseph B. Wicks.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Boyd and Mary Wicks.

A viewing will be held from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, March 2, at the McCrery Memorial Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville (Rt.202, south of Silverside Rd.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Wednesday, March 3, at the parish where he grew up, the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., followed by interment in the Delaware Veterans' Memorial cemetery in Bear.

Paul Joseph MCCARTAN

Paul Joseph McCartan Age 45 of Newark, DE died suddenly on Thursday, August 12, 2004, at his home.

Born in Wilmington on September 22, 1958, Mr. McCartan was a 1976 graduate of St. Mark's High School. He attended Delaware Technical Community College and had worked for United Electric Supply Company, Inc., in New Castle. A staunch Republican, Mr. McCartan was currently writing a book on liberal politics in the United States. In his leisure time, he enjoyed beach vacations and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Mr. McCartan enjoyed a special bond with his nephew, Shane, with whom he shared a birthday.

Mr. McCartan was preceded in death by a brother, Michael B. McCartan, in 1987. He is survived by his parents, C. Bernard and Mary (Walsh) McCartan of Newark; 3 sisters, Mary G. Konwinski and her husband, Frank, of Newark, Kerry A. Metzger and her husband, Mark, of Hamburg, NY, and Maureen S. Harris and her husband, Richard, of Bear; 5 brothers, Kevin W. McCartan of Sonoma, CA, William F. McCartan and his wife, Catherine, Christopher McCartan and his wife, Amy, John A. McCartan and his wife, Valerie and Thomas R. McCartan and his wife, Lucinda, all of Newark; and 14 nieces and nephews Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark.

Interment will follow in All Saints cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington. Friends may call 6 to 8 pm, on Monday, August 16, 2004, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Place, Newark.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 100 W. 10th St., Wilmington, DE 19801, or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, at the same address.

David Roger Benson, Sr.

Age 60 of Wilm., DE died Oct. 5, 2004 at Wilmington Hospital. Service 11:30 am Thurs., Oct. 14, at Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church, 501 N. Washington St., Wilm. Visitation 9-11:30. THE HOUSE OF WRIGHT MORTUARY.

Marianne M. Chillas

Born 7/14/48 - Died 10/08/04 Born in Southern CA, Mariannne lived all over the world before settling down in Middletown in 1985. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors Degree in Science and Journalism, and was a former Rehoboth Beach Alderman, Delaware Department of Insurance employee, and partner in the MRC Consulting Group.

Survived by husband, David D. Chillas. The loving mother of Stephen Wright and his wife, Bridget of Orcas Island, Washington; daughters, Amy Truitt and her husband, Matt, of Ocean View, DE, and Carol Chillas-Stone and her husband, Rod, of Bellingham, WA. Also survived by grandchildren, Aaron Lindholm and Darby Wright, Nathaniel, Natasha, and Nolan Holmes, and Newell and Olivia Stone. She is also survived by her mother, Catherine McCay; siblings, Bill McCay, Michael McCay, Brian McCay, Eileen Reid; and mother-in-law, Viola Chillas; as well as a loving and extended family.

Private services were held on Sunday.

Henry Morris, Jr.

Age 75 of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Baltimore, MD died March 27, 2004 at Veteran's Hospital.

The funeral service and burial will be held privately.

Lora Ann Murson (Rockhold)

Ms. Lora Ann (Rockhold) Murson, age 48 of Fair Hill, MD, formerly of Newark, DE, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Christiana Hospital in Newark after a short illness.

Born in Fort Washington, PA December 23, 1955, Lora was a 1973 graduate of Christiana High School.

She was a professional real estate agent for 16 years and most recently had worked for Remax Central in Bear for 6 years.

Lora will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Katy L. Murson (17) and Lauren M. Murson (15), both at home; 2 sisters, Lucy Powers and her husband, Tom, of Townsend and Pat Powers and her husband, Clete, of St. Petersburg, PA; a brother, Michael Rockhold of DE; 6 nephews, Sam and Jon Rosado, both of Newark, Ben Powers of Townsend, Scott and David Rebarchak and Blaine Powers, all of St. Petersburg, PA; 2 nieces, Sarah and Jen Rockhold, both of DE; fianc‚, Mark Wilkinson of Fair Hill; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Blaine Rockhold, in 1981; mother, Lucille Rockhold, in 2002; sister, Mary Rockhold, in 1957; and former husband, Rick Murson, in 2002.

Friends may call from 1-3 pm and from 6-8 pm on Sunday, April 4, 2004, and again from 9:45-10:45 am on Monday, April 5th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am on Monday, April 5th, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill & Gender Roads, Newark. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Age 39 of Millville, DE, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Funeral at 1 pm on Saturday April 3, at the Bethany Chapel of MELSON FUNERAL SERVICES, West Ave., Ocean View, where friends may call 12-1.

Edward Osborne, Jr.

"Bates" Age 53 of Wilmington, DE passed away in the VA Hospital Saturday, March 27, 2004.

Mr. Osborne "Butch" was born in Wilmington, DE to Edward Osborne, Sr. and the late Lillian M. Osborne.

He was a 1968 graduate of P.S. duPont High School, later joined the U.S. Marines and served in the Vietnam War, receiving many honors.

He was an active member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

In addition to his father, he is survived by 2 children, Nikolle Wisdom and Shannon Osborne, both of Wilmington; 3 brothers, Samuel Bates of Wilmington, James Bates of Hockessin and Ronald Osborne of Marietta, GA; 4 sisters, Helen Barnes of Richmond, VA, Josephine Rollins of Baltimore, MD, Flora Pleasant of Newark and Renee Osborne of Decatur, GA; and 5 grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday, April 2, 2004, at St. Mary's Church, 4201 Washington St., Wilmington, where friends may call from 9-11 am.

Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Park, Bear.
