Rev. Howard J. Lodge

The Rev. Howard J. Lodge, age 90 of Gloucester, MA died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at his home.

Born in Philadelphia, PA February 3, 1914, he was the son of the late Howard and Pauline (Eberhart) Lodge. He was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and was a graduate of the Philadelphia Biblical University. His calling in life was to give God's message of salvation to as many people as he could reach. He continued to preach into his late 80s. As part of his ministry, he led teams to Philadelphia, PA and Boston, MA rescue shelters. He was also a past president of The Christian Endeavor in PA. He enjoyed writing music and playing his musical saw accompanied by his wife.

He was the husband of the late Marian M. (Scheaffer) Lodge. He was also predeceased by a grandson, Jimmy Nowasielski. He is survived by 2 daughters, Marian Smitheman of Feasterville, PA and Susan Nowasielski of Wilmington, DE; 3 sons, Howard Lodge, Jr. and Donald Lodge, both of Gloucester, James Lodge of Elizabethville, PA; and local grandchildren, Rachel Thompson of Hockessin, DE, Jon Nowasielski of Bear, DE, Rebekah Nowasielski of Wilmington, DE and Jeremy Newhouse, formerly of Wilmington, DE.

Funeral services were held today, April 1, in the Calvary Chapel Baptist Church in Gloucester, MA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Gideon's International, PO Box 62, Millersberg, PA 17061.

James R. Mason

Age 88 of Millsboro, DE died March 14, 2004, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.

Funeral 11 am Thurs., April 8, at WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 211 Washington St., Millsboro. Donations: Salvation Army, 559 E. DuPont Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966.

Marie (Roach) Godfrey

Died October 1, 2003 at Christiana Hospital.

Marie was a secretary for the Connolly, Bove, Lodge & Hutz law firm.

Marie was a member of Corpus Christi R.C. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Godfrey, who died in 1998; and her brothers, Clarence Jr., John, Walter, Paul and Joseph Roach.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere, on Monday, October 6th, at 10 am. Friends may call after 9 am at the church.

Entombment will be in Cathedral cemetery in Wilmington.

KRIENEN-GRIFFITH FUNERAL HOME

Helen Starkey Clapp

Age 100 of Foulk Manor North died Thursday, October 2, 2003.

Mrs. Clapp was a homemaker.

Her husband, Houghton G. Clapp, passed away in 1998. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth E. and Roberta Clapp, Leonard and Nancy Clapp; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service 9:45 am Saturday, October 18 in the chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, where family and friends may call after 9 am. Burial will be in the adjoining memorial park.

Age 81 of Selbyville, DE died October 2, 2003 at Green Valley Nursing Home, Millsboro. Funeral 3 pm Sunday, October 5 at Roxana Wesleyan Church, Roxana with visitation 2-3 pm.

Age 65 of Newark, DE passed away June 2, 2003 at home. Father of Gwendolyn Younger & the late Thomas Bruce. Brother of Nannie Hamm. Also survived by 1 granddaughter; 1 great grandchild; other family & friends. Funeral 10 am Sat., June 2 at CONGO FUNERAL HOME, 2317 N. Market St. Viewing 8-10 only. Burial private.

Michael Crouchelli

Michael J. Crouchelli, Jr., age 54 of Penn Acres South, New Castle, DE, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2003 at home with his family.

Mr. Crouch-elli was born in Wilmington on September 12, 1948, son of the late Michael and Mary (Maguigan) Crouchelli. A self-employed painter, he began his trade at the age of 16 and worked in the business for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Crouchelli is survived by his wife, Mary Lucchini Crouchelli; his sons, Joseph McDonough and his wife, Anna, of Ocean View, Joshua Crouch-elli and his wife, Laura, of Newark and Jonathan Crouchelli of Wilmington; his stepdaughters, Lea Lucchini and Andrea Lucchini, both of New Castle; his sisters, Mary McDonough of NJ and Kathleen Pickering and Eleanor Crouchelli, both of OH; and his 8 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 9th & DuPont Sts, on Saturday morning, June 7 at 10 am. Interment will follow in Cathedral cemetery. Family and friends may call at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave. (opposite Cathedral cemetery) on Friday evening, June 6 from 7-9 pm.

Leonard D. Gillis

Age 55 of Covington, VA and formerly of Hockessin, DE, passed away Monday, June 2, 2003.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy Gillis. Surviving are his wife, Polly P. Gillis; sons, Thomas E. Gillis and his wife, Alma Melina Gillis, and William J. Gillis; sister, Gayle Brown and her husband, David; a brother, Joseph W. Gillis; and grandchildren, Nicole and Cecilia Gillis.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 2033 Graves Road, Hockessin, DE on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 2 pm.

Age 89 of Bear, DE passed away June 2, 2003 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.

He was the husband of Mattie; and father of Sue L. Good and Shelby L. Clark.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, June 6 in the Blue Ridge Memory Gardens in Roanoke, VA.

Erma Eddy Talley

Age 79 of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA, formerly of Boothwyn, PA, died June 4, 2003 in New Holland, PA.

Mrs. Talley worked as a bookkeeper in Wilmington, DE.

She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Churchin Wilmington.

In addition to her husband, Clark "Dick" Talley, survivors include 1 daughter, Linda Garcia of Guatemala; 2 stepsons, Jeffrey Talley of Kenya, Africa and Glenn Talley of Tulsa, OK; 1 stepdaughter, Donna Talley of Seattle, WA; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7 at 1 pm at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave, New Holland, PA.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Louis Wirosloff

Age 75 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully in the presence of family on June 4, 2003 at 1 pm in his FL home.

Louis was born in Stephentown, NY to the late Bertha and Samuel Wirosloff. After growing up on a farm, he was offered a full scholarship to R.P.I. He retired after 43 years as an executive trainmaster with the B&O Railroad, in charge of freight operations from Philadelphia, PA to Baltimore, MD. Louis was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose hobbies included volunteer work with youth, sports and travel. He was also a great leader of men, greatly respected and a wonderful human being who will truly be missed.

Louis is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Claire Wirosloff; his sons, Michael, Scott and Jeffrey; his father-in-law, Irving Kreuger; his daughters-in-law, Malinda and Elizabeth; granddaughters, Meredith and Michelle; and grandson, Mitchell.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mr. Wirosloff's memorial service at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 9 at the SCHOENBERG MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 519 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington with interment in the Jewish Community cemetery on Foulk Rd. Shiva details will be announced later.

Age 62 of Wilmington, DE passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington.

Age 57 of New Castle, DE went home to Glory on Sunday, June 1, 2003 in the VA Hospital in East Orange, NJ.

Rudolph was the son of Mrs. No-vesta Hucks and the late Bishop Fred M. Hucks.

There will be a funeral service at 11 am on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 3079 New Castle Ave., New Castle, DE, where family and friends may call from 9-11 am. Interment will be at 11 am on Monday, June 9 in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery in Bear, DE.

Michael Ryan Fitzpatrick

Age 19 of Wilmington, DE, beloved son of Terry and Jane Fitzpatrick and the loving brother of Susan Fitzpatrick, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 4, 2003.

Michael was a 2002 graduate of St. Elizabeth High School, where he was active in the senior youth group. Michael loved playing basketball, skiing, skateboarding, and most of all, spending time with his friends.

Michael is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Ann K. Lemon; and his paternal grandmother, Helen M. Fitzpatrick, both of Wilmington. Michael will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth's Church, Cedar & S. Clayton Sts., Wilmington on Saturday, June 7th at 11:30 am, where friends may call at the church after 10 am. Burial will be in Cathedral cemetery.
