Dr. J. Allan Bickling,
Healthcare systems manager
Dr. J. Allan Bickling of Rehoboth Beach died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. He was 56.
Dr. Bickling was born July 14, 1948, in Dover, son of Kathryn V. Bickling of Dover and the late James Albert Bickling.
He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving from 1966-1969.
Dr. Bickling earned his bachelor of science degree from Salisbury State University; his master of science from Johns Hopkins University; and his doctorate of public administration from Nova University.
He began his distinguished career of senior management for healthcare systems and other businesses as an assistant dean in the registrar’s office at Chesapeake Community College. In 1976, he became the assistant administrator/treasurer for Shore Memorial Hospital in Easton, Md.
He was a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, achieving his Fellow Status, Hospital Financial Management Association and the American Management Association. He was an associate adjunct professor for the University Of Baltimore and adjunct professor with Chesapeake Community College.
Among his other numerous posts in civic and healthcare organizations, he was a board advisory member for University of Maryland and a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Area Health Education Council, the Tri-County Board, a certified Lay Leader for the United Methodist Church and the Crisfield Elks 1044. He also served on the Governor’s Commission for Diabetes.
He is survived by wife, Carolyn Ann (Swann) Bickling, whom he married on March 24, 1967; a daughter, Enid Bickling of Eden, Md.; his mother, Kathryn V. Bickling of Dover; and a brother, Timothy Bickling of Elkton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Greensboro, Md., where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Greensboro cemetery , Greensboro, Md.

Lucille M. Talley Green,
Devoted church member
Lucille M. Talley Green, 92, passed away at Forwood Manor February 28, 2005.
Lucille was born in Wilmington, to the late Amos and Jennie Miller Talley. She was the wife of the late George E. Green, whom she married in 1956. Mrs. Green was a former member of Grace Episcopal Church and was a member of Hillcrest-Bellefonte United Methodist Church. She also was a member of Sellers Senior Center. Lucille enjoyed playing bingo, pinochle, and was an avid Bowler.
Survivors include three daughters, Jane M. Potter of Wilmington, Helen L. Mechell of Lewes and Lois A. Shannahan of Jacksonville, Fla.; 2 stepsons, George and Gary Green; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Lucille was predeceased by 1 brother; and 2 sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to Lucille’s Life Celebration, 11 a.m. to noon Friday, March 4, followed by a funeral service at noon at Beeson Memorial Services, 412 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. Interment will be in Grace Episcopal Church cemetery.

Warren E. Frye,
dental technician
Warren Earl Frye, 86 of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mr. Frye was born in Atlanta, Ga., the son of the late Henry Akin Frye and Jessie Bell Reid Frye.
He served in the U.S. Army. Then he worked for the Veteran’s Administration as a dental technician in Washington, D.C. for 37 years before retiring in 1970. He was a member of the American Legion Post 28, Oak Orchard/Riverdale, and the Loyal Order of Moose.
Mr. Frye is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geneva Evans Frye of Lewes; a daughter, Arline Collins of Virginia; granddaughters, Bonita Evans and J.B. Norman of Lewes, and Katie Williams and Maria Woolridge of Virginia; grandsons Belvie Haygood of Lewes, Marcus Powell of Georgia, Everett Collins Jr. and James Collins of Virginia; great-granddaughters Brittany Marks, Kelsey Marks, Jayme Marks, Taylor Marks and Romany Evans of Lewes, and Jessica Williams of Virginia; great-grandsons Phil Norman Jr. of Newark, Peter Minetree and Lewis Clements of Delaware, Thomas Woolridge and David Williams of Virginia; and a great-great-grandson, Isaac Godwin of Delaware.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 1 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Friends may call Friday, March 4, 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home where Moose services will be held at 8 p.m. Interment with military honors will be at Henlopen Memorial Park near Milton.

Helen P. Eckrich,
registered nurse
Helen Pauline Eckrich, 77, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mrs. Eckrich was born July 11, 1927, in Claymont, daughter of the late Genie Houck Bleckley and Jiroud Bleckley. Mrs. Eckrich was a registered nurse and a graduate of the Wilmington General Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Georgetown, and was a caring and loving mother to her family.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, John M. Eckrich Sr. of Georgetown; two sons, John M. Eckrich Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Bethany Beach, and Paul Eckrich and wife, Debby, of Georgetown; three daughter, Linda Pusey and her husband, David, of Georgetown, Amy Long and her husband, Keith, of Berlin, Md., and Beth McMeekin and her husband, Roger, of Newark.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, March 4, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Georgetown, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans cemetery , Millsboro. Joyce N. Roussos,
Job’s Daughters member
Joyce N. Roussos, 50, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mrs. Roussos was born in Bethesda, Md., daughter of the late Leroy and Muriel Brockman Taylor. She was a member of Jobs Daughters for 15 years and served as Grand Guardian for the state of Delaware in 1998-1999. She also was a member of the Eastern Star in Georgetown, and had attended the University of Maryland nursing program.
She is survived by her husband, Nick M. Roussos of Rehoboth Beach; daughters Anna N. Roussos and Dina N. Roussos, both of Rehoboth Beach; and sister, Louise F. Taylor, of Radcliff, Ky.
Funeral services were held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes. Graveside services will take place Friday, March 4, at 1 p.m., at the Chestnut Grove cemetery , Herndon, Va.
Jane R. Carson,

Jane R. Carson, 98, of Lewes, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.
Jane was born Aug. 21, 1906, in Washington, N.J., the sixth child of the late Clark and Safrona Rymon Wilkinson. Her father was the first rural horse-and-buggy mail carrier from the Washington Post Office. She resided in Washington until her marriage to Harlow M. Carson Sr. of Oxford, N.J., May 12, 1930. During their marriage they lived in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Tennessee, and then back to Washington, where she lost her husband April 27, 1979. She was employed as a sales clerk at Cohen’s Clothing Store in Washington. Jane then moved to Lewes several years later.
She is survived by three sons, Harlow M. Carson and his wife, Jean, of Lewes, Clark Carson and his wife, Elaine, of Millsboro, and Bruce Carson and his wife, Judy, of Odenton, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, March 4, at DeVoe Funeral Services, 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, N.J.. immediately followed by services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Washington cemetery.
Bernard A. Bulinski,
federal government retiree
Bernard Anthony Bulinski, 83, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at home.
Born in Perth Amboy, N.J., July 5, 1921, he resided in Lewes for the past 34 years. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corp for two years in the state of Washington and then served in the U.S. Navy for two years as a firefighter instructor. Upon his honorable discharge he worked for the federal government for 25 years, retiring in 1971.
Bernard was a loyal member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edith Bulinski; a son, Bernie and his wife, Lue, of Mesquite, Nev.; two daughters, Barbara Muller and her husband, Mike, of Allamuchy, N.J., and Susan Lynch and her husband, Tom, of Georgetown; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Downs, Angelica Krause and Katherine Mesgaros; and three sister-in-law, Ethel Burke, Arlyne Jensen and Ida Mae Rakos and her husband, Joseph.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 5, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Fourth Street, Lewes. Burial will be private.

Francis A. Grier,
retired bricklayer
Francis A. Grier, 72, of Wilmington, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Christiana Hospital, Newark, after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy.
Mr. Grier was born March 16, 1932 in Wilmington, son of the late Nelson Grier and Nellie Crossan Grier. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War.
A bricklayer by profession, Mr. Grier was a member of Bricklayers Local 1 in Wilmington for many years. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and horses, and was a talented gardener. Most of all, he was a devoted family man and delighted in spending time with his wife and beloved children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Brindle Grier; four children, Cynthia F. Temple and her husband John W. Jr. of Townsend, Kathryn J. Volk of Wilmington, David J. Grier of Wilmington and James J. Grier and his wife, Denise M. of Elkton, Md.; three brothers, Thomas A. of Hollywood Beach, Fla., Robert A. and Joseph A., both of Wilmington; five sisters, Audrey Wade of California, Marianne Giofre and Theresa Lenkiewicz, both of Wilmington, Elizabeth McGogan of Lewes and Janie Ciabbottoni of California; six grandchildren, Jason and Josh Volk, Adam and Lindsay Temple and Megan and Devon Grier; and a great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Scott.
Services were held at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, New Castle, with burial in Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery , Bear.

Loren Edward Moore,
retired from Suburban Propane
Loren Edward Moore, 77, of Rehoboth Beach, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at home after a long illness. He had celebrated his birthday five days earlier.
Mr. Moore was born in Batavia, N.Y., and came to Delaware while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. While station at the old Indian River Station, he met Joyce Wingate, who would become his wife of 56 years. She passed away in October 2004.
After they were married, Mr. Moore worked as a carpenter for a short time before starting his career with Suburban Propane. He worked at the Rehoboth district for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990 as the district manager.
Throughout his working life, he continued to work part-time and built three homes himself. He was well known for many years as an avid amateur bowler, and many people fondly remember him for wearing a cowboy hat.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Marion Moore of Lewes; a son, Shawn Moore and his companion Ruth of Rehoboth Beach; a grandson, Shawn; and extended family in upstate New York, Virginia Beach, Va. and California.
A private graveside service was held at Epworth cemetery , Rehoboth Beach.

Clarence Rudolph Moore
former construction worker
Clarence Rudolph Moore, 83, of Rehoboth Beach, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at home.
Mr. Moore was born in DelRio, Texas, son of the late Charles W. and Ola (Hancock) Moore. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving at Pearl Harbor during World War II.
He had worked for the Owens Boating Company in the construction of yachts, and later for the Porter Brothers Construction Company doing construction work. He retired to the Rehoboth Beach area in 1992. Mr. Moore was then employed by SuperFresh near Rehoboth Beach for 11 years, where he worked in the maintenance department and was known by many for bagging their groceries. He retired from Super Fresh in December 2004.
He is survived by his wife Kathryn (Perry) Moore; one daughter, Pamela Faith Moore of Perryville, Md.; a son, Glenn Scott Moore and his wife Eva of San Diego, Calif.; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 4, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park, Route 1, Milton, with Pastor Charlie Arnold officiating.
Mary Dowdy,
Millsboro homemaker
Mary Dowdy, 85, of Millsboro, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
She was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Mack E. and Martha Kimmey Dowdy. She was a homemaker, and was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mack E. Dowdy Jr., in 1974 and her sister, Anna Mae Harrington, in 1994.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Robert Masten of Millsboro, with whom she lived for more than 20 years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Seabury Avenue and School Place, Milford. Burial will be in Milford Community cemetery , Milford. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
