Hazel W. Dunning, 73, of Denton, Md., died Sunday, April 17,, 2005, at The Pines Genesis Elder Care.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Wayman Jr. and Richard Wayman.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene B. and Ulysses Bellamy of Denton; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary A. Sr,. and Sheila Dunning of Easton; a sister, Naomi Thomas of Ridgely; a brother and sister-in-law, Leon F. and Ann Wayman of Ridgely; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Ball of Lewes and Eleanor Wayman of Denton; a devoted friend, Thomas Dawson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 22, ar Bell’s Chapel AME Church, Tuckabhoe Road, Denton. Services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 23, in the church. Arrangements by Minus Funeral Home, Dover.
Mary Jane Miller,
Milton homemaker
Mary Jane Miller, 73, of Sylvan Acres, Milton, died of cancer Monday, April 18, 2005.
Mrs. Miller was born in Ralphton, pa., the daughter of the late Cloyd and Margaret Schaffer. She moved to Delaware 17 years ago from Baltimore.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church of Somerset, Pa., and had volunteered each week at the St. Martin’s Barn Thrift Shop in Ridley, Md.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Merle Miller; a son, Randy Miller of Milton; three sisters, Alice Stayrook of Somerset, Esther Pluta of Palm Bay, Fla. and Patricia Moskey of Jennerstown, Pa.; and a brother, Glenn Schaffer of Clearwater, Flla.
Services were held at Short Funeral Services, Milton. Contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society, PO Box 163, Salisbury MD 21803-0163.
Craig D. Anderson,

Craig D. “Cowboy” Anderson, 54, of Millsboro, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Beebe Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Anderson graduated from Dulany High School in Baltimore, Md. and attended a local community college. He was employed as a carpenter for several companies in Maryland before moving to Delaware in 1987. He and his brother, Jeff, started their own construction business. he was a skilled craftsman with wood and leather.
He married Karen Wagner in 1972 and had two children and was subsequently married to Georgeanna Ziegler. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and cooking. He loved country music and played the guitar and mouth organ.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce MacCallum Anderson; a beloved nanny, Helen D. Newton MacCallum; his father and fiance, Carl G. Anderson and Ollie James; a daughter, Abigail Anderson; a son, Jason Anderson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jeffery Anderson of Millsboro and Glenn and Ann Anderson of Jarretsville, Md.; a sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Tim Talbot of Long Green, Md.; three uncles and their spouses, Robert O. Sr. and Mary Anderson of Parkville, Md.; Normal and Peggy Anderson of Millsboro and Grandville and Faye MacCallum of Annapolis, Md.; two aunts, Mariam MacCallum of Virginia Beach, Va. and Geraldine Smith of Lewes; two nieces, Rebecca Talbot and Allie Talbot; two nephews, Timmy Talbot and Tyler Anderson; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at Conley’s Chapel Methodist Church, Robinsonville Road, Lewes.
Kenneth W. Bradley

Kenneth W. Bradley of Rehoboth Beach died Tuesday morning, April 19, 2005, as the result of injuries suffered from a fall Monday afternoon April 18.
Kenneth was born in Renova, Pa. and moved to Rehoboth Beach from Washington, D.C. as a year round resident in 1980, following 10 years as a weekend commuter. His career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture spanned 32 years, starting with the U.S. Forest Service and working in a number of states as a forest ranger.
He transferred to the Secretary’s Office of Personnel and was instrumental in the development and installation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s first integrated automated personnel payroll system. This system is now utilized government-wide. He received an undergraduate degree in forestry from Penn State and an MBA from Harvard University.
He loved the small-town flavor of Rehoboth Beach and upon retiring from his “real” job, enjoyed the camaraderie and diversity of area residents by delivering flowers for Windsor’s Florists.
Kenneth loved to travel, never met a stranger and never let a day go by without relishing the simple joys of life. He was a patient man and often said to Dee, “Slow down – we have lots of time.” He loved a good crossword puzzle, enjoyed a nine-hole round of golf and was thrilled when he broke 55.
Those missing him deeply include his best friend and wife, Dee Bradley; daughters Anne Rawson and Betty Bradley of western North Carolina; his sister, Betty Gerber, and her husband, Don, of Oxford, Oh.; and nephew Steven Gerber, and wife, Cindy, of Fishers, Ind.; as well as countless friends.

Anthony R. Pasukonis,

Anthony Robert Pasukonis, 81, of Lewes, died suddenly Monday, April 18, 2005, at White Clay Creek, near Wilmington, while trout fishing.
He was born July 25, 1923 in Garwood, N.J. to the late Anthony and Petronella "Yaunch" Pasukonis, both formerly of Garwood, via Lithuania.
Anthony worked his entire life as a carpenter in the home building industry. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a veteran of WW II where he served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946 as an Aviation Metalsmith 1st Class.
He is survived by his wife, Florence E. Vorndran Pasukonis, to whom he was married for 56 years; a son, John, and his wife, Miri, of Rumson, N.J.; a daughter, Patricia, of Grand Rapids, MI; and four granddaughters, Nicole of Rumson and Kathleen, Colleen and Angelique of Grand Rapids
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Pastor Randy Booth will officiate.
The family suggests donations be made to a charity of choice.
Adelaide "Nana" Francis Heckman,

Adelaide “Nana” Francis Heckman, 97, of Middletown, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at the Silver Lake Center in Dover.
Mrs. Heckman was born and raised at "The Liston's" of Taylors Bridge, was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and also attended the Bethesda United Methodist Church in Middletown. She was the oldest living member of Bethesda, and was referred to as the "Icon of the Church" by Rev. Isabel Gardner.
Her husband, Ira A. Heckman, preceded her in death in 1983. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth S. Sheats of Lewes; 3 grandsons, Leland Sheats of Clayton, Law J. Sheats and his wife, Katie, of Millville and Julian J. "Chip" Sheats and his wife, Joanna, of Warwick, MD; and 7 great grandchildren, Zachary, Daniel, Lauren, Michael, Calley, Morgan and Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 116 E. Main St., Middletown. Friends may call from 10:30-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private.

Margery Ann Ramirez,

Margery Ann Ramirez, 67, of Lewes, formerly of Gaithersburg, Md., died peacefully at home Sunday, April 17, 2005, in the arms of her loved ones.
Marge retired from nursing and moved to Rehoboth Beach from Gaithersburg, Md. in 2000, where she enjoyed an active life of traveling, golf, volunteering at Beebe Medical Center, bowling, caring for her pets, and sharing love and laughter with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dorothy Rohwedder; and her husband Dr. Hector Ramirez.
Marge is survived by her children, Linda Ramirez of Baltimore, Md.; Pati Jameson of Bristow, Va.; and Richard Ramirez of St. Louis, Mo.; her grandchildren, Marta Ramirez, Emi Ramirez, Laura Jameson and Sean Jameson; and her loving and beloved companion, Charles Whitmore of Georgetown.
Funeral Services will be Thursday April 21, at 11:00 a.m., at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961, Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Friends may also call Wednesday, April 20, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Virginia Wyatt Baker,
retired teacher
Virginia Wyatt Baker, 86, formerly of Rockland, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at the Methodist Country House in Wilmington, her residence since 1998.
Mrs. Baker was a native of Lewes and lived there until her marriage to Charles S. Baker Sr., who preceded her in death in 1995 after 53 years of marriage. A 1936 graduate of Lewes High School and a 1940 graduate of the University of Delaware, she was a teacher in the Alfred I. duPont School District and a substitute teacher at the Greenville Elementary School. Mrs. Baker was an active member of Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church and had served as both a deacon and an elder.
She is survived by three children, Suzanne B. Fleming and her husband, William J., of Highland Beach, Fla. and Lewes; Charles S. Baker Jr. and his wife, Barbara C., of Wilmington and Lewes; and Dr. Alfred L. Baker and his wife, Sally S., of Clemmons, N.C.; brother-in-law, H. Franklin Baker of Wilmington; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2005, at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, Kennett Pike at Old Kennett Road, Centreville.

Larry D. Stout,

Larry D. Stout II of Lewes died suddenly Saturday, April 16, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Frederick, Md. He was 32.
Mr. Stout was born December 23, 1972 in Wilmington.
He was employed as a professional metal framer with Heritage Construction, Georgetown.
Mr. Stout was a talented musician and greatly enjoyed all types of music. He played guitar with several area bands.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Pamela R. and Walter Bryant of Lewes; father and stepmother, Larry D. and Barbara Stout of Newark; a son, Kyle Aubrey Stout of Bear; a brother, Bryan J. Stout of Smyrna; maternal grandparents, Alfred J. and Helen Anderson of Newark; paternal grandparents, Herman D. and Ruby B. Stout of Mountain City, Tenn.; four stepbrothers, Kevin J. Bryant and Kenneth Irving Bryant both of Newark, Marshall W. Bryant of New Castle, and Michael L. Bryant of Stanton; and a stepsister, Diane M. Waltman of Elkton, Md.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.

Kathyrn Ida Jester,
retired farmer
Kathryn Ida Jester of Fruitland died Sunday, April 17, 2005, in Wicomico Nursing Home, Salisbury. She was 92.
Mrs. Jester was a farmer and raised chickens along with her husband, Norman Jester, until his death in 1964. After that time, she was employed as a paper hanger for a number of years and was also employed as manager of Tastee Freeze, Georgetown, Del., until retiring in 1976. She continued to live on the farm until 1995, when she moved to Fruitland to live with her daughter. Mrs. Jester was a member of McColleys United Methodist Church, Redden.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Verda O’Day Tucker; three sons, Gerald W. Jester, George K. Jester and John M. Jester; and a brother, Raymond L. Tucker.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris E. Smith of Fruitland; two sons, Merrill J. Jester of Ocala, Fla. and Dennis D. Jester of Long Neck; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Milford Community cemetery , Milford.
Donald Kay Phillips,
retired principal
Donald Kay Phillips, 66, of Lewes, and formerly of Downingtown, Pa.,, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born in New London, Pa. June 14, 1938, son of the late Abby Kay and Donald Kreider Phillips. He graduated in 1960 from West Chester College where he met his wife of 38 years, Maryanne Ford Phillips.
He served in the U. S. Army Honor Guard in Heidelberg, Germany from 1961 to 1963. Donald received his Masters Degree from Temple University and his Education Leadership Certification from the University of Pennsylvania. His career was in the Downingtown Area School District, including serving as principal of the New East Ward Elementary School and the Uwchlan Hills Elementary School over the course of 25 years. Prior to his retirement in 1999, he served as the director of elementary education for the Downingtown Area School District for 10 years.
Donald is survived by his wife, Maryanne, and their two children, Allison Carbo and Ford Phillips, Capt. USMC. He was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Olivia and Delaney Carbo, daughters of Allison and Vince Carbo of Lancaster, Pa.; and Ford Christian, Jr. and Caden Phillips, sons of Ford and Debbie Phillips of Jacksonville, N.C. Other family members include a brother, Richard E. Phillips and his wife Marian; and a sister, Joyce McDowell, all of Oxford, Pa. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sister, E. Jane Giffing of Wilmington.
The Phillips Family would like to extend its gratitude to Dr. Peri and the nurses and staff at Tunnell Cancer Center at Beebe Hospital, Lewes, and to Delaware Hospice for the wonderful care Don received.

John A. Segrin,

John A. Segrin Jr., 84 of Rehoboth Beach, departed this life Friday, April 15, 2005, at his home.
He was born Dec. 17, 1920 in Eddystone, Pa., the son of the late John Arthur Segrin Sr. and Irene Carles Segrin.
He had retired as a foreman for Westinghouse Manufacturing Co., Lester, Pa. facility in 1978 after 39.5 years service. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, gardener and a devoted Eagles Fan. He was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Mr. Segrin was predeceasd by his first wife, Betty Jane Jones Segrin, in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, John A. Segrin, III of Cape May, N.J. and Richard L. Segrin of Boothwyn, Pa.; a daughter, Christine S. May of Chester Township, Pa.; his companion, Dorothy Clower of Drexel Hill, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and one greatgrandson
