BERTHA RAYE LANGSTON LIDDON
Bertha Raye Langston Liddon, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, Fla. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Col. Harvey Liddon. She was born in Village Mills, Texas, on Jan. 4, 1913, the daughter of the late Thelma Bullock Tolar and James J. Langston. She was a direct descendent of Captain Charles Bullock and James Barclay, founders of Tyer County, Texas. Bertha resided in Lynn Haven, Fla., from 1956 to 1995. An avid golfer, she served as president of the Panama City Ladies Golf Auxillary and also was president of Florida State Ladies Golf Association. In 1995, she moved to New Port Richey where she lived with her daughter Sallie. She is survived by her daughter, Sallie Liddon Forguson; her granddaughter, Amy Forguson Maguire; and her great-granddaughter, Kenzi Marie Maguire. She also leaves two sisters, Rosemary Tolar Asta of Beaumont, Texas and Grace Gilcrease Scull of Granbury, Texas. Services will be held today, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m., in Woodville, Texas under the direction of Riley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations by sent to Pasco County Education Foundation, 7227 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, FL 34639.

CHARLOTTE FAY OGLETREE
Ms. Charlotte Fay Ogletree, age 75, of 24 Harrison Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since 1979, coming here from Belgium. Ms. Ogletree was a member of Central Baptist Church and T.O.P.S. She had also worked for Gayfers. She enjoyed crocheting and fishing. Ms. Ogletree is survived by her sons, Virgil Ogletree of Panama City, Calvin L. Ogletree and his wife Janice of Keymar, Md., and Larry Ogletree and his wife Nancy of Westminister, Md.; a daughter, Charline Nicholson and her husband Robert of Melbourne, Fla.; sisters, Betty Davis and her husband David of Sophie, N.C., Ann Laneberry and her husband Fred of Randelman, N.C., Irene Clubb and Brenda Trents and her husband Gene, all of Sophie, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four bothers, Warren Parris, Roger Parris, Reed Parris and Troy Parris. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel the Rev. John Barton officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Ms. Ogletree's grandchildren will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Dec. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m.

EULA MAE PEADEN
Eula Mae Peaden, 85, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 17, 2000, at her daughter's residence. Born in Bonifay, Fla., Ms. Peaden moved here from Chipley in 1948. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. Service for Ms. Peaden will be held today at 2 p.m. in Lynn Haven Chapel with the Rev. David Halstead officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Billy Kinsaul, Bill Perry, Roy Ray, Jennings Chamblis, Donny Owens and Tim Fay.

RHODA MAE QUATTLEBAUM
Rhoda Mae Quattlebaum, age 79, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at her residence in Chipley, Fla. Mrs. Quattlebaum was of the Freewill faith and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Chipley. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistance with Northwest Florida Community Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1921, to the late James and Nancy Caroline (Powell) Pitts in Perry, Fla. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, at First Freewill Baptist Church in Chipley, with the Rev. David Williford officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing. Survivors are son, Steve Quattlebaum and wife Madlyn of Chipley; four daughters: Patsy (Regie) Simmons of Fort Walton Beach, Shirley Grace and husband Roger of Fort Walton Beach, Brenda Lane and husband Stanley of Graceville, Fla., Bobbie Kent and husband Jim of Chipley; seven grandchildren, Tracey Simmons of Marietta, Todd and Nancy Simmons of Tarpon Springs, Guy Lane and Summer Lane of Graceville, Chad and Garlyn Grace of Fort Walton Beach, Ashleigh Quattlebaum of Chipley; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews, Sue and Ronnie Wright, Alaxon and Audrey Pitts, Jimmy Pitts and Larry Williams; two special friends, Jackie and Jill.

ANTHONY (ANT) ADAMS
Funeral services for Mr. Anthony (Ant) Adams, 38, of 508 E. 8th Court, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, in a local hospital will be held Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at 2:30 p.m. at Greater Bethel AME Church with the Rev. O.C. Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. Ant became a member of Greater Bethel AME Church at an early age. God gave Ant the gift to understand music. He directed the Gospel Choir at Macedonia Baptist Church for many years. Because of his passion for children, Ant chose the occupation of a school bus driver. He started his career at Early Childhood Services, Inc., before leaving high school and in 1994 was employed with Bay District School Transportation Services. He is a 1981 graduate of Bay High School. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Mary Daisy White; brother, Eddie R. Adams Jr., and aunt, Mildred Parker. He leaves to cherish his memories a father, Eddie R. Adams Sr., Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Dwight Adams and Michael White both of Panama City; a sister, Yvette Adams of Miami; five nephews: Dwight Jr. and Tyrieck Adams of Panama City, Edward and Jeffrey Adams, and Bryann Adderly all of Miami; five nieces: Erica Lawrence, Panama City, Oceania Adams, Chipley, Fla., Linique and Terreiyn Adams and Bryanna Adderly all of Miami; an uncle, Roosevelt (Nita) Adams of Philadelphia, Penn.; an aunt, Rosie Coston of Troy, Ala.; and a host of cousins and special friends. Visitation hour will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Greater Bethel AME Church, 829 Hamilton Ave., and from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. at Gainer Family Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at 3904-A Wave Ave.

VALLIE C. COHEN FINCH
Mrs. Vallie C. Cohen Finch, 84, of 1003 E. Eighth St., died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, in Bay Medical Center. Mrs. Finch, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. T.B. Cohen, was born April 13, 1916, in Early County. She was married to Richard Finch. Early in life she accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Ebenezer AME Church. Upon moving to Panama City, Fla., she joined Greater Bethel AME Church. She retired from the Sugar Mill in Bellglade, Fla. She leaves to cherish her memory four sisters: Cleo Nelson, Emma Sylvia Davis (Harvey), Ruthie Gillard (Fredrick) all of Valdosta, Ga., and Winston Harris of Hilton, Ga.; one brother Orsay Everette of Hilton, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Cohen of Houston, Texas, and Ruth Cohen of Charlotte, N.C.; and one aunt Chillie Bailey of Hilton. Five sisters and and two brothers preceded her in death. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Finch will be Friday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. in Greater Bethel AME Church with the Rev. O.C. Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Hilton, Ga. Public visitation will begin this afternoon at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. The family will receive friends at 1003 1/2 E. Mrs. Dorothyann Larsen McNamee, 77, of 700 Transmitter Road, Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She had been a resident of the area since 1984, moving here from Narrowsburg, N.Y., and was Methodist by faith. Mrs. McNamee started an ambulance service with her husband, George, in Narrowsburg and had been an emergency medical technician. She is survived by a daughter, Lynn "Mickey" Durkee of Panama City; sons, Bruce McNamee and his wife, Jenny of Marshfield, Mass., and Wayne McNamee and his wife, Karen of Riverside, Calif.; grandchildren: Terry Durkee and his wife, Michelle, Bruce and his wife, Mary, Brian McNamee, Shawn McNamee, Yvonne, Danny and Scott; and great-grandchildren, Ashlee and Chad. She was preceded in death by her husband, George McNamee. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Dec. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.

DORIS ELIZABETH ANCONETANI
Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Anconetani, age 75, of 7312 Rodgers Dr., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and St. Teresa's Guild in North Carolina. Mrs. Anconetani started a program called "The Rosary Makers" making and distributing rosaries to missionaries overseas at St. Leo's in North Carolina and again at St. Dominic's. She loved to crochet, paint, knit, quilt, and also taught crafts to community college students in North Carolina. She made teddy bears for friends who were ill and also for children in hospitals. Mrs. Anconetani is survived by her husband of 56 years, Anthony Anconetani of Panama City; sons, Anthony A. Anconetani and his wife Mary of Columbus, Ga.; Robert J. Anconetani and his wife Tonia of Lubbock, Texas; Arthur V. Anconetani and his wife Tong of Panama City; and Richard L. Anconetani and his wife Kathleen and Alan J. Anconetani, all of Florissant, Mo.; a sister, Mabel Hartman of Phoenix, Ariz.; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26 at St. Dominic's Catholic Church with Msgr. William Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Saturday, Dec. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary Services to be held at 6 p.m.
