Funeral services for Thelma Mildred "Millie" Linsenmeyer, 76, of Panama City, died Dec. 25, 2000, will be held today, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church with Julia Phillips officiating. For those who desire, in lieu of flowers may make a donation to the St. Patrick's Episcopal Church Building Fund in memory of Thelma Mildred "Millie" Linsenmeyer.

GERALDINE 'GERI' ROSEANN PANKHURST
Mrs. Geraldine "Geri" Roseann Pankhurst, age 60, of 1135 Plantation Drive, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of Bay County for 20 years. Prior to moving to Bay County, Mrs. Pankhurst lived in not less than nineteen places as wife of Major John E. Pankhurst, USAF, Retired. Mrs. Pankhurst was a speech pathologist at Callaway Elementary School. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, a Sunday School teacher and wedding coordinator. Geri is survived by her husband, John E. Pankhurst of Callaway; daughter, Mrs. Julie L. Canzoneri and husband Mike of Panama City Beach; son, Mr. J. Kevin Pankhurst of Callaway; step-mother, Margret Clark of Lansing, Mich.; two step-sisters: Sandie Idema and Linda Amell; and three loving grandchildren: Adrienne R. Canzoneri, Jamie M. Canzoneri, and Cecelia A. Canzoneri. Memorial Services for Mrs. Pankhurst will be held at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 31, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church and her ashes will be interred in the church garden. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Andrews Episcopal Church Building Fund or the Geri Pankhurst Fund for Speech, Language, or Hearing Impaired Children.

LUTHER JACK RICHEY
Mr. Luther Jack Richey, age 76, of 934 Oak Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at his home. He had been a lifetime resident of the area and was Protestant by faith. Mr. Richey was a retired supervisor for International Paper Co. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the D.A.V. Mr. Richey is survived by his wife Flora Mae Richey of Panama City; a son, Leslie Elwood Richey of Maryland; stepson, Robert Jernigan and his wife Joanne of Pine Bluff, Ark.; a sister, Estelle Brown of Panama City; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Earnest Richey, Quinnie Richey, Vernon Richey, Paul Richey, James Richey, and Floyd Richey. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ted Presley officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Dec. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. Jack requested that the following be printed for his family and friends: Miss me ... but let me go, when I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me ... a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me ... but let me go. Mr. Donald Percy Simmons Sr., of 2923 Kirkwell Ave., Panama City, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in North Carolina. Born in Point Washington, Fla., he was a lifelong resident of Bay and Walton counties. Mr. Simmons was an owner and operator of McCall's Sod Farm and the founder of Simmons Realty. He was a member of Hiland Park United Methodist Church. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his son, John Russell "Rusty" Simmons. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Dorothy F. Simmons of Panama City; two sons, Donald Percy Simmons Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Will Simmons and wife, Cynthia of Panama City; one daughter, Marcia Weidenhaft and husband John of Lynn Haven; a daughter-in-law, Anna Simmons of Lynn Haven; one sister, Dorothy Ward of Bruce, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Weidenhaft, Nicole Simmons, Amanda Weidenhaft, Christy Simmons, John Russell "Rusty" Simmons, Donald P. "Trey" Simmons, Will Simmons Jr., and Michael Simmons. Funeral services for Mr. Simmons will be conducted today, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Bass and the Rev. Harry Johnson officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers: Bill Dowdy, Jim Bombinger, Jim Buchanan, JimCauley, Freddie Gaines, and Rodney Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jack Laird, Jim Mauldin, Al Borland, Donald Penny, Frank Syfrett, Edsel Brooks, Hoyt Osborne, Jack Armstrong, Doug Cauley and the employees of McCall's Sod Farm. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Hiland Park United Methodist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Simmons.

PETORIOUS STERON SPEIGHTS
Mr. Petorious S. Speights, 27, of 7004 Benton Drive died in the early morning hours on Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, Christmas Day, in Panama City. Petorious Steron Speights was born June 25, 1973, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Diana and Levy Speights. Tory, as his family and friends commonly knew him, was a member of Triumph the Church of Kingdom God in Christ and attended Trinity Temple Church of God Written in Heaven. Tory was educated in the Bay County School System, graduating from A. Crawford Mosley High School in 1992. At Mosley he starred in football, basketball and track. Later he attended Tallahassee Community College and Gulf Coast Community College. Tory was employed with Winn Dixie Corporation for 10 years ascending to assistant manager. He was also a member of Labor System Lodge No. 324 Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall Affiliated. On Dec. 25, 2000, at 3 a.m., God in his most infinite wisdom saw charge to take him home. Tory leaves to mourn his death and cherish his memories; a loving maternal grandmother, Mary Wilson Dean and a paternal grandmother Zora Hudson both of Panama City; a sister, Maria Wilson of Panama City; a maternal aunt, Madie McKenney (Wilbert) of Panama City; a devoted fiance, Yolanda Armstead of Panama City; a very special cousin, Cortney Qualls of Panama City; aunts: Versee Speights (Charles) of Panama City, Lucille Hudson of Panama City, Emma Hill (Larry) of Hampton, Va., Nellie Nabers (Greg) of Fairfield, Calif., Maudie Mae Jackson of Panama City; uncles: Jimmy Woodson (Shirley) of Atlanta, Ga., Anthony Dean of Panama City, Frankie Speights (Linda) of Panama City, Namon Speights (Lillian) of Panama City, Andrew Speights (Dorothy) of Panama City; three godchildren: Tifnee and Randall Briggs and Imani Johnson all of Panama City; and a host of cousins, other relatives and very special friends. Funeral services for Mr. Speights will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, at noon in Neals Temple Frist Born Church of Living God with Bishop Lonnie Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Redwood Cemetery. Public visitation will be this afternoon at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. ARLENE STOMP
Ms. Arlene Stomp, 65, of Mexico Beach, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Chicago, Ill., she moved to Mexico Beach in 1992. Ms. Stomp was a homemaker and a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, John O'Donnell and Minnie Poe. Ms. Stomp is survived by two sons, Patrick Stomp and John Stomp; three daughters, Pamela Madrid, Denise Foster and Laura LaPlante and husband, Michael, all of Mexico Beach; one brother, Robert O'Donnell of Chicago; six grandchildren and special love, "Smitty." Funeral services for Ms. Stomp will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the Gilmore-Southerland Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

EDITH MABEL BENNETT
Mrs. Edith Mabel Bennett, age 80, of 1701 Lake Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1983, coming here from Sebring, Fla., and was Protestant by faith. Mrs. Bennett enjoyed painting, working in her yard and garden, and especially her family. She is survived by a daughter, Michele Kern and her husband Dennis of Tallahassee; four sons, Frank Daniels of Panama City; Gale Daniels and John Daniels and his wife Susan, all of Sebring, Fla.; and Mike Daniels and his wife Pat of Panama City; two brothers, Jim Devlin of Texas and Ed Devlin of New York; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

BARNEY ALLEN BULLOCK
Mr. Barney Allen Bullock, 73, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Wewahitchka, Fla., he moved to Bay County in 1955 from Kansas. Mr. Bullock was a crew chief on many types of aircraft while serving in the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and the Vietname War. Mr. Bullock retired from the military in 1971 and returned to Panama City. He was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church of Wewahitchka. Mr. Bullock is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Carrie Bell Bullock. He is survived by three sons, Barney Bullock Jr., George Bullock, both of Springfield, Mo.; and David Bullock of Caledonia, Mich.; two daughters, Marjorie Bullock of Springfield and Susan Peck and husband, Melvin of Callaway; two grandsons, Kenneth Peck and wife Genie of Evans, Ga., and Trevor Joseph Bullock of Caladonia, Mich.; one great-grandchild, Kenneth Lee Peck II of Evans. Funeral services for Mr. Bullock will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 31, at 1:30 p.m. in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Neal Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Jehu Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening, Dec. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday, Dec. 31, one hour prior to the service at the church.

THELMA RUTH KIRKLAND
Thelma Ruth Kirkland, 80, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, in a Jacksonville, Fla., hospital. Born on Aug. 22, 1920 in Graceville, Fla., Mrs. Kirkland was a homemaker and a member of Terry Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her husband, Cammie Eugene Kirkland and her sons, Lavughn and Ralph Kirkland. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Sams and her husband Robert; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. Those desiring to may make a donation to the American Cancer Society in memory of Thelma Ruth Kirkland.

ROY ANDREWS 'R.A.' MYERS SR.
Mr. Roy A. Myers Sr., 84, of 1050 West River Rd., Wewahitchka, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, in Bay Medical Center. Deacon Roy Andrew (R.A.) Myers Sr. was born on Dec. 16, 1916, in Jackson County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie (Emma) Myers. He accepted Christ Lord of his life at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish a devoted wife, Marvel of 40 years; 13 children, Louise (Isiah) Jones, Roy (Mildred) Myers Jr., Earnest Myers, Ray (Terri) Myers, Kenneth (Malinda) Myers, Brenda (Jesse) Williams, and Arthur Myers of Wewahitchka; Lizzie (James) Colving and Annie Pearl (Walter) Bracey of Mobile, Ala., Minnie Ola Smith of Jacksonville, Jacqueline (Truman) Grant of Blountstown; Aron Myers of Tallahassee; and Rachel Myers of Gainesville; 39 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Pinkie) Myers and Robert (Lottie) Myers of Wewahitchka; three sisters, Viella Rouse of Wewahitchka; Florence Myers and Pattie Mae (Henry) Faison of Panama City; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Deacon Myers will be held Sunday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m., in New Hope Baptist Church in Wewahitchka with the Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery. Public visitation will begin this afternoon at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state two hours prior to the funeral services at the church. The family will receive friends at 1050 West River Rd., Wewahitchka.
