Charles Allen Waller, 26, of Wausau, Fla., passed from this life on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2001. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Sister Gilda Langston and the Rev. Kevin Bartlet officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebro Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Burtie Lue Waller. Survivors are father, Charles W. Waller, Vernon; wife, Crisandra Waller, Ebro; stepmother, Sally Waller, Vernon; two brothers, Paul Waller and wife, Helen, Panama City and Reggie Waller and wife, Desa, Colorado Springs; two stepbrothers, Jaylon Brock, Vernon, JuJu Brock, Vernon; stepsister, Cindy Brock, Vernon; several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service today.

DAISY SLUSSER
Mrs. Daisy Slusser, 89, of Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in a local nursing home. Born in Hopewell, Va., she moved here in 1978 from New Jersey. She was a retired certified nursing assistant and was an active member of the Hiland Park Baptist Church. She was a member of the Jolly Hearts with Hiland Park Baptist Church and volunteered with the Council on Aging. Mrs. Slusser is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Slusser Sr., and a sister, Miranda Brantley Watts. She is survived by two sons, Earl B. Hall and wife, Barbara, of Palm City, Fla., David Slusser and wife, Cindi, of Panama City, Fla.; three daughters, Sylvia McMahon and husband, Patrick, of Jersey City, N.J., Mary Soriero and Barbara Walsh, both of Panama City Beach, Fla.; three stepsons, Ken Slusser, Michael Slusser and wife, Barbara, both of Panama City, Fla., Ronald Slusser of Illinois; nephew, Robert Brantley of New Jersey; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted today at 10 a.m. in the Hiland Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Pickerill officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Panama City Police Department. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Mrs. Slusser.

Graveside funeral services for Willie Mae 'Billie' Smith will be held at 10 a.m. today, Dec. 5, 2001, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Father Dennis Baum officiating. OTTIE H. WATT-CHANCELLOR
Ottie H. Watt-Chancellor, 85, of Panama City, died on Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, of complications from cancer. She was born in Anderson, S.C. Mrs. Watt-Chancellor worked at Abney Mill in Anderson. She moved to Panama City in 1979. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, David Watt Jr., of Mount Dora; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice of Panama City or to the Building Fund of Northside Baptist Church in memory of Ottie Watt-Chancellor.

CHAD JEREMY YARBROUGH
Funeral services for Chad Jeremy Yarbrough, 20, of Panama City, Fla., who passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 5, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Anderson and the Rev. Charles Faile officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Aaron Yarbrough, Jared Fish, Jaran Worley, Chad Burttshell, Chris Greene, Forat Salman and Ricky Sanchez. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Dec. 5, 2001, from 1 p.m. until service time.

KATHLEEN 'KATE' NELSON BLAKELEY
Kathleen "Kate" Nelson Blakeley, 82, of Andrews, S.C., died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Blakeley was born in Panama City on April 27, 1919, a daughter of the late Frank McGill Nelson Sr. and Olivia Appelberg Nelson. She is survived by her husband, John M. Blakeley Jr., of Andrews, S.C.; a daughter, Julianne Blakeley of Litchfield Beach, S.C.; two brothers, M.G. Nelson and Karl B. Nelson, both of Panama City; sister, Hazel N. Hawkins of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, Blake Thornton, Clay Thornton, both of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Olivia Thornton of Westport, Conn., and Katie Thornton of Hilton Head, S.C. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kent Thornton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Andrews, S.C., with the Rev. L. Michael Mills, the Rev. Dr. Andrew E. Hines, and the Rev. Dan P. Powers officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery in Andrews. The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. in the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Georgetown County, Inc, 2591 N. BERNICE NEALEY BECKWITH
Mrs. Bernice Nealey Beckwith, 63, of 16976 N.W. 16th St., Blountstown, Fla. died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County, Fla. She attended public school in Calhoun County and graduated from Mayhaw High School. She was a nurse's assistant and retired from the Calhoun County Health Dept.after 40 years of health-care services. She was a member of Saint Paul A.M.E. Church. She is survived by a loving and devoted husband, Horace Beckwith, of Blountstown; seven lovely children, Bernadine Quick (Wade) of Riverside, Calif., Alvin Nealy of Atlanta, Ga., Pauline Holmes, Tonya Beckwith, Lorenzo Beckwith (Laverne) of Bristol, Jeffrey Beckwith and Chris Beckwith (Bernita) all of Bloutstown; her mother, Lola Mae Nealey, of Blountstown; father-in-law, Horace Beckwith Sr., of Miami; sisters, Hazel Ming (Fuller), of Blountstown, Ruby Sims, Irene Crayton (Roy) and Vernell Nealey, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Leroy Nealy (Hazel), of Blountstown, Jessie Nealey (Laverne), of Chattahoochee, Ray Charles Nealey (Tawana) of Manfield, Texas, and Lewis Nealey of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Brian, Shaia, Katina, Adrain, Brooks, Terry, Shankiviya, Shelvin, Antoine, Krista, Chelsea, Satyria, and Braxton; great- grandchildren, Tre and Justin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emanuel Solomon, Rosetta Baker, Betty Beckwith, Louie Beckwith (Patricia), Carl Beckwith (Sherece), Melody Peterson, Tommy Beckwith, and Pat Maxson; adopted sister, Joyce Reed; special friends, Gussie Barnes, Beatric. JOSEPH J. BLECHINGER
Mr. Joseph J. Blechinger, 72, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at a local nursing facility. He was born in Queens Village, N.Y., and had lived in Panama City for five years, moving here from New Fairfield, Conn. Mr. Blechinger was retired as a fire marshal for the state of Connecticut after 22 years service. He was a former member and assistant chief of the New Fairfield, Connecticut volunteer deptartment. Mr. Blechinger loved model trains and was a member of the Panhandle Model Train Club. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Blechinger, of Panama City; his children, Joseph Blechinger and his wife, Melinda, of Marianna, Fla., Donald Blechinger of Vero Beach, John Blechinger and his wife, Beverly, of New Fairfield, Conn., Donna Blechinger of Phoenix, Ariz., John Morrison and his wife, Alice, of Westborough, Mass., and Jill Mullineaux and her husband, Robert, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Robert Mullineaux Jr., John D. Morrison, Robin Blechinger, Lauren Blechinger, and Roxanne Morrison. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today Dec. 7, 2001 from 6 until 8 p.m.

MYRA KATHERINE BOGGESS
Myra Katherine Boggess, 81, of Panama City, died Thursday Dec. 6, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a native of Williamsburg, Ohio, and had been living in Bay County for the past 40 years. She was Baptist by faith, a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. Mrs. Boggess was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. Boggess, and a brother, Wilbur Vaughan. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis I. and Angie Boggess, George A. and Pat Boggess, John A. and Norma J. Boggess; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rena P. Boggess and Kathy and Bobby Tucker; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a very special family friend, James B. Barnhill, all of Bay County. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Southport Assembly of God Church, 7308 State 77, Southport, with the Rev. Steven D. Schillinger officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.

ARLETHA CANNON
Mrs. Arletha Cannon, 85, of 109 Detroit Ave., Springfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at her home. She was born to the late Mingo and Drucilla Henderson in Jacob, Fla. She was converted to the Baptist faith at a young age by joining a Baptist St. Mary Baptist Church, also in Jacob, Fla. After becoming a resident of Panama City, Fla., she transferred her membership to Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Springfield, Fla., where she served as a faithful member until her death. Mrs. Cannon was a member of the choir and worked on the committee as a pastor's aide. The deceased was united in holy matrimony to Herbert Cannon on June 30, 1961, and to this union was a daughter. Sister Cannon was employed by Tyndall Air Force Base until her retirement after 35 years of service. She was a very stern lady, not understood by many. But she will be remembered for her caring, loving kindness toward her family, friends and others. For it was not known by all that she gave a lot of her time toward working in the help of saving and helping other less fortunate. Sister Cannon leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Jacqueline Jackson; and four grandsons, Alvin Glenn, Antonio McDonald, Urick McDonald and Robert McDonald. A great-granddaughter, Cyuanna Glenn; a sister, Leola Simmons; and seven brothers, Henry (Betty) Henderson, Robert Lee Henderson, RC. (AIbert) Henderson, King David Henderson, Mingo (Edna Ruth) Henderson, Allen (Classie) Henderson, A.L (Dorothy) Davis; and a special niece, Valorie Mack with a host of other relatives including nieces and nephews. And I would also like to recognize another that has been really close to the family through the good and bad times, Jimmie Selisa Davis. Funeral services for Mrs. Cannon will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Second Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Harper officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Jackson County. Public visitation will begin today at 1 p.m. with family hour in the Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening. The remains will lie in state on hour prior to services at the church.
