Funeral services for Mr. Rudolph Lee, 92, of Callaway, Fla., who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, will be held 10 a.m. today, Dec. 8, 2001, at Callaway Assembly of God with the Rev. Wiley Davis, the Rev. Dewey Myers, and the Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Parker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 2925 State 77, Panama City, FL 32405.

LUCINDA BARNES LONG
Mother Lucinda Barnes Long, 99, of 721 E. 11th Court, died Dec.1, 2001, in the home of her daughter in Tallahassee. Funeral services for Mother Long will be held today, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. in the Tabernacle Mission Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph McCalister officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church today from 9 a.m. until service time. The family will receive relatives and friends at 4009 E. 10th St.

MARY 'LOU' MACHTLEY
Mrs. Mary "Lou" Machtley, 71, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Bay Medical Center. She was born in Middletown, Pa., and had lived in Panama City for 38 years, moving here from Tampa. Mrs. Machtley was a homemaker and loved fishing and bowling and passed both of these loves to her sons. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven. Mrs. Machtley is survived by her husband, John Machtley Jr. of Panama City; three sons, Gary G. Machtley and his wife, Kathleen, of Pittsburgh, Pa., John C. Machtley III of Dauphin Island, Ala., and Timothy M. Machtley and his wife, Sherry, of Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Glenn, Trisha, Stephen, Bobby, Melanie, Phillip, James, David, Meagan, and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren, Becky, Sabrina, and Gavin. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven with Dr..Fred Keith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lynn Haven, 810 Georgia Ave., Lynn Haven, FL 32444.

Mother Lousia G. Moore, 88, of 280 Myers Road, Wewahitchka, Fla.; died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in her home. Funeral services for Mother Moore will be held 2 p.m. today, Dec. 8, in the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Wewahitchka with Elder Cager Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church today from 9 a.m. until service time. HAZEL MARIE SOHN
After a long and courageous fight, Mrs. Hazel M. Sohn, 75, of Lynn Haven, Fla., went home to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001. Mrs. Sohn was born in Baltimore, Md., on Sept. 6, 1926, and moved to Lynn Haven in 1997 from Bonifay, Fla. She was a dedicated housewife, supporting her husband's 30-year military career. She was a living witness who walked in faith and received her strength from the Lord. We celebrate the victory of her home going, but she will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. Mrs. Sohn was preceded in death by her parents, Hazen and Marie Davis. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lt. Col. Henry A. Sohn, ret., USAF; two sons, Henry A. Sohn Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Springfield, Va., and David William Sohn and wife, Cathy, of Laurel, Md.; two daughters, Cmdr. Marie S. Lambert, USN and husband, Jim, of Hanahan, S.C., and Elizabeth Hamrick and husband, Joe, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Lt. Col., William H. Davis Jr., ret. of Virginia Beach, Va., James H. Davis of Chatworth, Calif., and Major Carroll C. Davis, ret. of Fort Myers Beach, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted today, Dec. 8, 2001, at 1 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Ennis officiating and the Revs. Doug Pennington and Ken Taylor assisting. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to The Leavening Agency, P.O. Box 19839, Asheville, N.C., 28815.

CORNELIUS S. 'NEAL' DRESSER
Cornelius S. "Neal" Dresser, 85, of Panama City, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in a local hospital. He was born February 11, 1916, in Medford, Mass., to George and Genevieve Dresser. He was a graduate of Niagara University and George Washington University, where he got his masters degree in foreign affairs. He was employed from 1938 to 1941 at the Century Photo Company, the Power City Trust Company, and the International Cooperage Company in Niagara Falls, N.Y. He then joined the United States Air Force in 1941, where he ran patrols against German submarines off the east coast of the United States and commanded a B-29 bomb squadron in the Pacific during World War II. He served as base commander at Clark AFB in the Philippines from 1959-1962, at Tyndall AFB from 1965-1967, and at Thule AFB, Greenland, from 1967-1969. He retired at the rank of colonel on March 31, 1969. After retirement from the Air Force, he then went to work at Tommy Thomas Chevrolet as their vice president of customer relations from May 1, 1969, until retirement on Oct. 1, 1989. He was a member of the following organizations: American Legion, Retired Officers Association, Order of the Daedalians, Salvation Army Board, Gulf Coast Community Foundation Board, United Way of Bay County, The Krewe of Dominique Youx, Panama City Chamber of Commerce, military Affairs Committee, Committee of 100, and the Panama City Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lela G. Dresser. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Dresser, of Panama City; four children, Carol Susan Dresser Mizell and her husband, Herbert, Judith Dresser Gross, Donald Sheldon Dresser and wife, Sandra, all of Panama City, Paul Evans Dresser and wife, Sheila, of Dallas, Texas; two stepdaughters, Suzanne Lynn Lawrence of Lynn Haven, Doris Margaret Maxson and her husband, John, of Columbus, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Clint Mizell, Samuel Clifford Gross, Matthew Dresser, Stephanie Dresser, Micah Dresser, Jordan Dresser, Eddie Lawrence, Rodney Lawrence, Jennifer Maxson, Erin Maxson; and a cousin, Greta Ivins, of Highstown, N.J. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Panama City with the Rev. David Warren and the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to may make a contribution to their favorite charity in memory of Neal Dresser.

ROBERT E. 'BOB' GALL
Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Gall, age 67, of Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Birmingham, Ala. He was born in Morgantown, W.V., and had lived in Lynn Haven for 27 years, moving here from Charleston, W.V. Mr. Gall was director of the Planning and Development Division for the State of West Virginia, retiring in 1991. He was the former director of religious education for the Clarksburg, W.V., First United Methodist Church and was also a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Mr. Gall served as the Callaway City Manager form 1978 until 1980. He was very active in the Civil Air Patrol and was named the senior member of the Civil Air Patrol for the State of Florida for the year 1980. Mr. Gall is survived by his wife, Betty Gall, of Lynn Haven. He was preceded in death by his Son, Robert Doudon Gall. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Martha Thorne, and her Husband, Glenn, of Colonial Heights, Va.; a niece, Beth Saunders and her husband, Jim, of Colonial Heights, Va.; a grandniece, Kelly Walker, of Orlando; an uncle, Edward McKown, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and special friends, Mackie and Fran Owens, Laura Owens and Amy Joyner. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Britton officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers are: Jerry Klinger, Tommy Johnson, Edward Butzke, Stan Coston, Karl Shelton, and Art Schaefer. Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Prime 55 Advisor Board at People's First Bank, William Lilleston, Dr. Ronald Sinicrope and James Faircloth. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Dec. 9, 2001, from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Andrew United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2001 W. 11th Street, Panama City, Fla. 32401.

DOROTHY LEISEL (TESAR) HUFF
Dorothy Leisel (Tesar) Huff, age 81, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at a local nursing facility. She is survived by two sons, Louis D. Tesar of Quincy, Fla., and Wade C. Tesar of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and one grandson, Jacob Matthew Allen of Lynn Haven, Fla. A Bay County resident since 1951, she was active in the Parker, Fla., PTA until moving to the Panama City Beach area in 1959. She was a conscientious homemaker who also worked as a waitress to help support her family. Divorced in the mid-1960s after 25 years of marriage, she remarried in 1970 to F.E. Huff, with whom she lived until his death in 1996. She became a boat captain in 1970 where she worked until her retirement. Among other volunteer activities, she was active in the Local Power Squadron. She was an avid reader, seamstress, artistic painter and enjoyed playing bingo and solving cross-word puzzles. She was generous of her time and in her efforts to help others. She requested that anyone who wishes to send flowers or the like instead take the time to help someone else or give the funds that would have been spent to a needy local charity. She requested that there be no memorial service and that her cremated remains be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico to re-enter the cycle of life from which she and her family made their living.
