Elfrieda Morel Field
Elfrieda Morel Field, 95, Sarasota, died June 21, 2001.
She was born Aug. 9, 1905, in Ashkum, Ill., and came to Sarasota 43 years ago from Cambridge, Mass. She was a volunteer psychiatric social worker at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and a volunteer at the Senior Friendship Center and the American Red Cross. She graduated from Rockford (Ill.) College and Smith College, Northampton, Mass.
Survivors include a son, Parker B. III of Traverse City, Mich.; a sister, Adele Morel of Sarasota; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
No visitation has been scheduled. Memorial services will be later. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Gulf Gate Chapel, is in charge.
Memorial donations may be made to Senior Friendship Centers Inc., 1888 Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota, FL 34236.

Joyce Holt
Joyce Holt, 61, Sarasota, died June 13, 2001, in Omaha, Neb.
She was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Detroit and moved to Sarasota in 1989 from Clearwater. She retired as a department store retail sales clerk. She was a Presbyterian.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E.; two sons, Charles Barstow of Detroit and Bill Barstow of Plattsmouth, Neb.; two daughters, Cindy McPhail of South Lyon, Mich., and Lori Katzman of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; three brothers, Don Phillips, Bill Phillips and James Phillips; five sisters, Louise Breen, Betty Miller, Mary Rowland, Emma Woodliff and Nancy Pfeiffer; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be in Plattsmouth, where Roby Funeral Home is in charge. Inurnment will be later in Sarasota.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist School, 520 S. 18th St., Plattsmouth, NE 68048.

Anthony R. Hren
Anthony R. Hren, 76, Englewood, died June 19, 2001.
He was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Steelton, Pa., and came to Englewood in 1994 from Harrisburg, Pa. He was a chiropractor and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member and past commander of VFW Post 701 in Steelton and a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, Englewood.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine; a son, Michael of Boston; a stepson, Anthony Fischer of Camp Hill, Pa.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Lemon Bay Funeral Homes, Englewood Chapel, is in charge.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2100 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite B, Venice, FL 34293; or to St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 776 Kilbourne Ave., Englewood, FL 34223.

Elenore Besse Jacobs
Elenore Besse Jacobs, 92, Sarasota, died June 19, 2001.
She was born May 2, 1909, in Calgary, Alberta, and came to Sarasota 30 years ago from Milwaukee. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Doctors Hospital, St. Vincent De Paul and Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia MacCormick of Tasmania, Australia; a son, Thomas A. of Raleigh, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will be in Palms Memorial Park. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society, 512 S. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236.

Thomas Schiro
Thomas Schiro, 81, Englewood, died June 20, 2001.
He was born Feb. 4, 1920, in New York City and came to Englewood seven years ago from Bronx, N.Y. He retired from Triangle Union Shop of New York City and had also worked for Eastside Window Cleaners and as a mason in home construction. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anne; a son, Thomas of Michigan City, Ind.; and a grandson.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Englewood Community Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Michael Semian
Michael "Mike" Semian, 90, Sarasota, died June 15, 2001.
He was born March 18, 1911, in Finleyville, Pa., and came to Sarasota in 1997 from there. He was a mechanic and machinist and retired 25 years ago after 31 years at U.S. Bureau of Mines. He also owned and operated Semian Service Station. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Temple in Pittsburgh.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Nettie; two sons, Charles of Gill Hall, Pa., and David of Sarasota; a daughter, Gail Manning of Knoxville, Tenn.; three sisters, Betty, Evelyn and Pauline; and eight grandchildren.
Paul L. Henney Memorial Chapel Inc., Bethel Park, Pa., is in charge.

Miriam Loring Speicher
Miriam Loring Speicher, 97, Sarasota, died June 20, 2001.
She was born March 21, 1904, in Reading, Mass., and came to Sarasota several years ago from there. She was a homemaker and a Unitarian. She graduated from Boston University and was a member of South Gate Community Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverlee L. Budden of Tallahassee; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home is in charge.

Warren Tutt Stone
Warren "Pebble" Tutt Stone, 72, Sarasota and Bryn Mawr, Pa., died June 18, 2001, at his home in Sarasota.
He was born July 9, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was an executive vice president for Superior Tube (now SGI) in Collegeville, Pa., and Wynnewood, Pa. He was a 1954 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He was an Army veteran and drove a tank during the German occupation after World War II. He was a member of First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry, Merion Cricket Club, Haverford, Pa., and Laurel Oak Golf Club, Sarasota. He was a member of Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr.
Survivors include his wife, Sally M. W.; three sons, Warren T. Jr., Bruce W. and Edward C.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be in Pennsylvania, where Stuard Funeral Home, Ardmore, is in charge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Episcopal Academy, 376 N. Latches Lane, Merion, PA 19066.

Katherine Esposito
PORT ST. LUCIE - Katherine Esposito, 61, of Port St. Lucie died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at The Hospice Residences of Martin & St. Lucie, Stuart.
A native of Wilmington, N.C., she lived in Port St. Lucie for four years. She moved here from Coldwater, Mich.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Crespo and husband Ramon of Clewiston, Fla., Christain Esposito of Port St. Lucie, and Sally Jean Esposito of Coldwater; two sons, Andrew Esposito Jr. and wife Laurie of Port St. Lucie, and Daniel L. Esposito Sr. and wife Sally A. of Loxahatchee; two brothers, Bobby Jones and wife Barbara of Grant, Fla., and John Jones of Cocoa Beach; three sisters, Judy Jones of Long Island, N.Y., Pat Prather of Alabama, and Betty L. Sollicito of Ranger, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., today at All County Funeral Home & Crematory, Treasure Coast Chapel, Stuart.

Beatrice Gunnell
STUART - Beatrice Barbara Gunnell, 80, of Stuart died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001.
She was formerly of Hamburg, N.Y. She moved to Stuart in 1978.
She was a member of Orchard Park Country Club, Orchard Park, N.Y., and the Miles Grant Country Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, William John Gunnell III.
Survivors include a son, William John Gunnell IV of West Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Suzanne Gunnell Edlund of Naples; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
A service will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of the National Cremation Society.
