November 11, 1925 - October 21, 2010

Lois Utterback 84, of Eustis, passed away in Eustis on Thursday, October 21, 2010. She was born in El Reno, Oklahoma and moved here in 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church of Titusville.

Mrs. Utterback is survived by a son John Utterback of Orlando, her daughters; Jody Bottcher of Altoona, Jan Jackson of Hickory, North Carolina, Gail Utterback-Mills of New London, Connecticut, Jill Strong of Mims, Florida, Judy Roberts of Melbourne, Florida, Mary Dinehart of Danville, Pennsylvania and Peg McClelland of Tavares, thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Nathan in 1985 and her grandson Jason Cunningham.

Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 2306 S. Hopkins Avenue, Titusville, Florida on Thursday, October 28th at 11 AM . Private interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family requests those desiring direct memorials to Cornerstone Hospice 2445 Lane Park Rd, Tavares, FL 32778.

Frances Louise Formby Walter
November 17, 1921 - October 23, 2010

Frances Louise Formby Walter, age 88, of Alliance, Ohio, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Crandall Medical Center, Sebring, Ohio.

She was born November 17, 1921, in Rome, Georgia, to Clark Howell and Tidie (Griffin) Formby.

Frances lived in Florida from six weeks of age until her marriage to Floyd C. Walter of Alliance, Ohio on April 18, 1948. Mr. Walter died on February 16, 1997, after 48 years of marriage.

A graduate of Eustis High School, Frances was the recipient of three top awards given to a graduating senior girl, and remains the only student to ever do so.

She attended Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) and later studied at Stetson University and the University of Florida.

She worked in the Registrar’s Office at Florida State College for Women and as an Elementary School Teacher in Florida for five years.

Over the years, Mrs. Walter volunteered as a Pink Lady at Alliance Community Hospital, Red Cross Canteen for Blood Donor Days, Den Mother and Secretary for Cub Scout Pack 170 of Washington Twp., and Treasurer of Sigma Nu Mother’s Club.

A member of First Baptist Church of Alliance, she served as a Sunday School Teacher, and was a member of the Alliance Woman’s Club, Alliance Republican Club, Voters for Women, and former member of Postscript Club.

As a “Friend of Rotary”, Frances was enormously proud of being given the Paul Harris Fellow Award.

Survivors include her sons, Clark Wayne (Connie) Walter, Charlottesville, VA, F. Carl (Jo) Walter of Pepper Pike, and Kent William (Mary) Walter of Alliance; grandsons, Christian Walter of Bay Village, Skip (Laurie) Walter of Cleveland Heights, and Hunter Walter of Cleveland; granddaughter, Schuyler Walter of Pepper Pike; sister, Helen Formby (Clyde) Mosteller of Mt. Dora, Florida; nieces, Ruby Head Duffield, of Michigan, Tidie Head Itchon of Florida; and nephews, Ernie Mosteller of Florida and Dr. Thomas Head of North Carolina.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband of 48 years and sister, Agnes Formby Head.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Gordon Thomas officiating. Friends called from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1659 W. State St. Alliance, Ohio 44601.

Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio 44601.

Ronald H. Heater
September 17, 1935 - October 27, 2010

Ronald H. Heater 75, of Grand Island, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Furman H. and Bettye Flynn Heater on September 17, 1935. Mr. Heather was Catholic, a retired Supervisor for Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor, Indiana having worked for 29 years, a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War on the USS Brinkley (DD887), a member of the American Legion, AmVets Post 1992 of Eustis and an Endowment Member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Darlene, his children, Wendre (John) Bittner of LaCrosse, Indiana, Ronald (Marlene) Heater II of Escondido, California, Douglas Heater of Chesapeake, Virginia and David (Pam) Pierce of Chesterton, Indiana, eleven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, brothers, Donald (Carol) Heater of Bourbon, Indiana and James (Sandy) Heater of Cartersville, Georgia, sisters, Joan (Dorsey) Calvert of Ellington, Florida and Kim Heater of Lake Station, Indiana, brother-in-law Claude (Mary) Shepherd of Valparaiso, Indiana and a sister-in-law Kristina (Dan) Ricketts of Lafayette, Indiana. Mr. Heater was predeceased by his parents, brother-in-law, Harold (Jack) Shepherd and his nephew Tracy Heater.

Verdual W. Hamlin Jr.
February 15, 1930 - October 30, 2010

Verdual W. Hamlin Jr. 80, of Eustis, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010. He was born in Schenectady, New York. Verdual was raised in Mount Dora and graduated from Mount Dora High School, he moved to Eustis in 1957 and became a partner in Zeller, Kennedy & Hamlin Funeral Home, he was a co-founder of Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors of Eustis and Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations in Tavares. He served as a City Commissioner, Vice Mayor and Mayor of Eustis, was a founding member of the Fairway Christian Church of The Villages, he had been an active Mason and Shriner, a member of Eustis Lodge 1578 B.P.O.E. and the Rotary Club of Eustis.

Mr. Hamlin is survived by his wife Patti, his children, Susan Hamlin (Jorge) Salazar of Eustis, William D. “Billy” (Teri) Hamlin of Oakland, Florida, step daughters, Lisa Lacy of Plano, Texas and Carolyn (Andrew) Yates of Apex, North Carolina, his grandchildren, Sabrina Krueger, Jorge Salazar, Jessica Salazar, William Tyler Hamlin, Patrick Todd Lacy, Joshua P. Hamlin, Nathan Yates, Megan E. Hamlin, and Lindsay Yates, great-granddaughter, Emma Krueger and his business partners Art & Carol Hilbish.

The family received friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Wednesday November 3, 2010 from 5 until 7 PM. Graveside services were held in Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora at 11 AM Thursday, November 4, 2010. Mr. Bill Twaddell, Minister officiated. John J. "Jack" Chisholm
January 18, 1925 - October 31, 2010

John J. “Jack” Chisholm 85, of Eustis, passed away in Oviedo on October 31, 2010. He was born in Pennsylvania and moved here from Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania in 1965. Jack was a former owner of Eustis Block and Supply, a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora, V.F.W. Post 8087 of Eustis, a Past President of the Eustis Chamber of Commerce, and a Veteran having served in the United States Navy during WWII on the USS Plunkett.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Cecial, his children, Daniel (Gwen) Chisholm of Oviedo, Thomas (Sharon) Chisholm of Sanford and Barbara Wilson of Mount Dora, his grandchildren, Melissa Felton, Bradley Wilson, Michelle Chisholm, Megan Evans and Joshua Chisholm, his great-grandchildren, Ryley, Michael, Caleb and Chloe, and his brother Daniel (Pat) Chisholm of Ormond Beach, Florida.

The family received friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel in Eustis on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 1 until 3 PM; there was a Wake Service at 2 PM. Mass of the Resurrection was held in St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora at 9 AM on Monday November 8, 2010. Entombment with Military Honors followed in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis. The family requests those desiring direct memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Theresa Signorelli
December 25, 1940 - November 3, 2010

Theresa Signorelli was born December 25th, 1940 in New York. She was raised in Key West Florida. She went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on November 3rd, 2010 in Eustis Florida. Theresa is survived by her two children Larry Pasek and Elena Pasek Breedlove and her two grandchildren Dalton and Brooke Breedlove.

Theresa was a believer, "Born Again", as she would say. She was a member of the Orange Ave Church of Christ. She enjoyed working with and teaching children. Theresa was a woman of many talents, she was an artist, enjoyed playing musical instruments, and acting. She was a part of many acting drama groups. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, collecting, and teaching others how to make things. Theresa will be missed by her family and friends.

Services were held in the Orange Ave Church of Christ, Saturday November 6, 2010.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Orange Avenue Church of Christ in Theresa Signorelli name.

Harry W. Belcher
November 8, 2010

Harry W. Belcher, 85, of Eustis passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010. He was born in Weirsdale, Florida and was a retired Production Supervisor in the Citrus Industry. He was a veteran, having served in the Marines in the Pacific Islands during WWII.

He is survived by his wife Shirley and his son Don.

Margaret W. Jacobs
February 11, 1919 - November 9, 2010

Margaret W. Jacobs, 91 of Tavares, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, she was born in Hammond, Indiana and moved to this area in 2007 from Castle Rock, Colorado. Mrs. Jacobs was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church of Leesburg, she is survived by her son Thomas R. of Leesburg, six grandchildren several great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Tuscon Memorial Park, Tuscon, Arizona.

Charles Clifford Sheldon
May 28, 1915 - November 13, 2010

Charles Clifford Sheldon of Altoona, FL died on Saturday, November 13 at the age of 95 after developing pneumonia. For the past 11 years he had lived at Lakeview Terrace where he was well loved by staff and residents.

Cliff was born on May 28, 1915 in Afton, NY, the son of Erle D. and Bessie Anna Guy Sheldon. He attended school in Binghamton, NY before attending and graduating from Syracuse University. He excelled at cross country, track and tennis and played trumpet in bands. Most of his career was in finance with Western Electric and AT&T. In retirement he was an avid and skilled golfer, served his church and volunteered in the community through Meals on Wheels, the Umatilla Public Library and the Lakeview Terrace Library. Cliff was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church of Eustis and a former member of Pine Meadows Golf and Country Club of Eustis.

Cliff is survived by his 102 year old sister Annah, who resides at Lakeview Terrace; his three sons and their wives Cliff (Ingrid) of Ann Arbor, MI, Tom (Ginny) of Williamstown, MA and David (Kathy) of West Kingstown, RI; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Cliff was predeceased by his first wife Ruth Moffitt, who died in 1988; his second wife Lois Burkhart, who died in 1997; a sister Ina Louise who died in 1953; and a stepson Douglas Campbell who died in 2010. Cliff is also survived by Doug Campbell's wife Lynn, her two children and four grandchildren.

Cliff was loved by family and friends for his social grace, humor and kindness.

Final arrangements are being made by Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Directors in Eustis. Memorial Services will be held in the Sun Room at Lakeview Terrace Lodge on Monday December 27th at 2 PM. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice are welcome.

Doris L. Clark
November 24, 1918 - November 17, 2010

Doris L. Clark, age 91, of Eustis passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. She was born November 24, 1918 in Caribou, ME and moved to Lake County in 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Mt. Dora.

She is survived by her sons, David Clark of Lilburn, GA, Bruce Clark of Eustis, FL; daughters, Laurabelle Aldinger of Eustis, FL, Anna Rae Dumond of Corinth, ME, Doris Ann Lovley of Tavares, FL, Rachel Ulrich of Umatilla, FL; brother, Stanley Hathaway of Corinth, ME; sister, Juanita Wheaton of Caribou, ME; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Clark; son, Sterling Clark, Jr.; sisters, Mildred, Avis, and Theora; granddaughter, Viki Lyn; and daughter-in-law, Nancy.

The family received friends at Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Eustis on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM. A Funeral Service followed at 11:00AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Assembly of God, Mt. Dora. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors, 326 E. Orange Ave., Eustis, FL 32726.

Doyne Nash Stan
October 26, 1919 - November 17, 2010

Doyne Nash Stan 90, of Eustis, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. She was born in Quimby, Iowa. She was predeceased by her husband Chester and survived by her daughter Kathleen (Winston) Russell of Orlando, her brother Von Nash of Chicago, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. She had worked as a Public Health Nurse for the Village of Lyons, Illinois, moved to Lake County in 1963 worked as a Nurse for the Lake County Health Department and the Umatilla Clinic.

Doyne was active in Eustis Lodge 1578 B.P.O.E. and had served as President of the Anna Miller Circle four times.

Friends called at the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel in Eustis from 3 until 5 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2010. The Funeral Mass was held in St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis at 9:30 AM Monday, November 22, 2010. Entombment followed in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.

Mary Irene Van Hoose
September 9, 1920 - November 25, 2010

Mary Irene Van Hoose, 90, of Deltona, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010. She was born in Johnson County, Kentucky and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her sons Mike and Ron Van Hoose; daughters Robyn Grinstead and Vicky Britizus; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service was held Friday, December 3, 2010 at 1:00 PM in Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis. Rev.William Boyer officiated.

Eileen R. Atwood
October 7, 1946 - December 9, 2010

Eileen R. Atwood 64, of Mount Dora, passed away in Tavares on Thursday, December 9, 2010. Eileen was born on 7 Oct, 1946 in Buffalo, New York. She was the oldest of 5 children to Lynn and Marion Atwood. Eileen grew up in a military family, moving around every few years. She graduated from high school in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and shortly after married USAF Lt Robert Morris. For 27 years she moved around the world, giving birth to son Colin in 1971. She prided herself on taking care of her military family and raising her son. Her last move was to Mt Dora, Florida in 1999.

People who knew Eileen remarked about her passion for quilting, decorating, cooking and sharing her life experiences with everyone she knew.

Eileen had dreamer's spirit and was a child at heart. She liked to give and was generous when she gave. Her biggest joy was to spend time with her son, daughter-in law and 2 grandchildren.

Eileen was united with Christ and her father and sister on Dec 9, 2010. She is survived by her son, two grandchildren, mother and 3 brothers.
