Det. David T. Padgett
Det. David T. Padgett, 41, of Sorrento, FL, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011.
David was born on September 22, 1970 in Leesburg, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Lake County.
David was a very creative writer who loved the outdoors, the ocean and scuba diving. He also enjoyed muscle cars, music and movies.
David started his career with the Lake County Sherriff’s Office in 1996. He was very dedicated to his job with LCSO and to his fellow officers and members of the community.
David was a loving father who was very supportive and encouraging to his children. Additionally, he loved and adored his wife, Teresa and would do anything to make her happy. They were married on January 24, 1999 and Teresa was his world.
David had an infectious smile and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; sons, Billy, Connor, Blake, and Andrew; mother, Lois Santangeo; sister, Kim Smith; mother and father-in-law, Art and Ruth Wood; and his dog, Hooch.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL and from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Eustis, 3551 E. Orange Ave., Eustis, FL 32736.
A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Eustis, 3551 E. Orange Ave., Eustis, FL 32736.

Dorothy Frances Gassett-Titmus
Dorothy Frances Gassett-Titmus, 75, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.
Interment will take place at Sorrento cemetery in Sorrento, FL.

Elizabeth (Betty) Dick
Elizabeth (Betty) Dick, 95, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011.
She was born on July 9, 1916 to the late David Garfield and Edith (Scott) Garfield, in New York, NY.
Elizabeth moved to the Mount Dora area from Clearwater in 1980.
She was self employed and the co owner of the Town and Country Dress Shop of Haddonfield, NJ. She was also an avid flyer and owned her own plane.
Elizabeth was married on August 15, 1952 to Victor J.W. Dick.
Calling hours will be held at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home from 3-4 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012.
A memorial service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home.

Barbara Jean (McAuley) Keller
Barbara Jean (McAuley) Keller, 84, of Tavares, FL passed away September 21, 2011 in Orlando, FL surrounded by family. Previously residing in Toledo, OH and Sanibel, FL. Barbara was born October 19, 1926 in Bradenton FL, attended Perrysburg High School and the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. She was a surgical RN for years at Toledo Hospital and then worked for Dr Arthur James. During WWII she was in the US Cadet Nurse Corp through The University of Toledo and was a member of the University's Alumni Association. Barbara was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH, The Toledo Club, North Cape Yacht Club, Toledo Yacht Club, Maumee River Yacht Club, Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ and the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora, FL. She was heavily involved in the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra's Women's League, St Paul's Lutheran Church Circle, First United Methodist Church Circle and Planned Parenthood. She also dabbled in entrepreneurship and owned a yarn shop in Toledo. While in Toledo, Barbara attended every Toledo University football and basketball game and thoroughly enjoyed college basketball. Barbara belonged to the Antiques Car Club of Lake County and the Sunnyland Chapter of the Antique Classic Boat Society in Florida. She enjoyed sailing one design Lightnings with her husband and also enjoyed his love of wooden speed boats. Barbara was an avid birder and Audubon member. Her great love was Sanibel Island and the beach, where she enjoyed walking and shelling daily. With Barbara's love of birding, she would spend hours in the Ding Darling Bird Sanctuary. Barbara had a great sense of humor and sharp wit and was once said to be made of strong stuff, and that would epitomize her. Barbara had immense courage, strength, fortitude and resolve and was an inspiration to all that came in contact with her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years James Arthur, Brother James McAuley, Sister Mary Loudenslagel, and parents Lesta and James McAuley. She is survived by sister Alice (McAuley) Shumer of Jacksonville, FL, son James Matthew (Susan) of Louisville, KY and daughter Rebecca Jo of Hilliard, OH. Two grandchildren Tyler James and Erin Christine, who she adored and was so proud of them in their accomplishments. Tyler is due to graduate from the UK Medical School and is going on to be an Orthopedic Surgeon. Erin is a CCU RN who cares for families such as ours, that are in need of comfort and loving care for their love ones. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, of which nieces Debbie Laliberte, Karen Pate and Gena Laliberte-Conolly were with her in her last moments. In the past year she has had extraordinary care from special caretakers; Sandy Gillislee, Dana Moore, Kisia Williams and Kelly Cunningham who loved her as much as she loved them.
A memorial service will be held for friends and family on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora, 439 E 5th Ave., Mount Dora, FL 32757. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Ding Darling Wildlife Society, 1 Wildlife Dr, Sanibel Island, FL 33957.

Marguerite Atchison
Marguerite Atchison, 89, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013.
She was born on September 23, 1923 in Orlinda, TN to the late William and Margie Dorris.
Marguerite moved to Mount Dora from Orlando in 1974. She was co-owner of Dairy Queen in Orlando and in Mount Dora.
She was a member of the Orange Avenue Church of Christ in Eustis, FL.
Marguerite is survived by her husband of over 71 years, Bob Atchison; son, Steven Atchison (Laura); daughters, Geraldine Warren and Wanda Knappenberger (Bob); 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. with Mr. Vernon Means officiating.
Interment will take place at Pine Forest cemetery in Mount Dora, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christian Home & Bible School, 301 W. 13th Ave., Mount Dora, FL 32757-1017.

Ruth Scherner Nunan
Ruth Scherner Nunan, 94, ofMount Dora, FL, and formerly Cape Porpoise, ME, died peacefully at home on Jan. 27, 2013. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on April 25, 1918, the daughter of John and Magdelene M Scherner.
Ruth met her future husband while both worked summers at The Island Inn on Monhegean Island, ME. Both Mr. and Mrs Nunan were educators, Ruth taught First Grade atKennebunkport Consolidated School for over 20 years. Once retired, the Nunans traveled the country and parts of Canada every winter with their RV, until they settled in Mount Dorain 1989. An avid reader, Ruth volunteered at the Graves Memorial Library in Kennebunkport, ME and later at the Bland Public Library in Mount Dora, FL.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is predeceased by her brother John Scherner, her son Robert Nunan, and her husband Richard. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Nunan, of Washington DC; Daughter-in-law Mary Nunan, of Hallowell ME, Granddaughters Melonnie Kelly and husband James of Daytona Beach, FL; and their children Lee, Susan, and Katelyn; Melinda Fuller, of Augusta, ME; and Amy Nunan of Augusta, ME..

Anita Beall Breaux
Anita Beall Breaux, age 75, passed away at Florida Waterman hospital in Tavares, Florida on January 18, 2013. Anita was born on April 10, 1937 in Zion, IL to George and Irene Beall and was graduated from Zion-Benton High School and a member of Eastern Star.
Anita was a long time resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She owned and operated Anita’s Cakes & Candies for over 20 years, where she made special order cakes and taught cake and candy classes. Her business provided her much happiness, and despite her retirement and a move to Florida – she still fondly thought of her students, customers and business contacts as her friends. Their love and memories filled her days until the last.
Anita is survived by her husband of 55 years, Eneise Breaux; her son, Dean Breaux & his wife Joni; her grandchildren Jolie Breaux & Natalie Breaux; her daughter, Shaun Breaux and her fiancé Kevin Burns; her sisters, Dolores Pierce, Judy Blezek, Debra Flood and Patricia Beall; and her brothers, Jim Beall, Kenton Beall and Dennis Beall.
She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter April Breaux and parents, George and Irene Beall.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m.
She will be interred at the Florida National cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In Lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to local Hospice foundations.

Mary Francis Kentner
Mary Francis Kentner, 92, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away on January 14, 2013.
Mary resided in Mount Dora for the last 30 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora and she volunteered at the library and the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dale Kentner and her daughter, Kathleen Conavay.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher William Conavay and Walter Levitt Conavay; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Gary Upleger officiating.
Interment will take place at Pine Forest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the W. T. Bland Public Library, 1995 N. Donnelly St., Mount Dora, FL 32757.

Margaret "Peggy" Mary Thompson
Margaret "Peggy" Mary Thompson, at age 70 after experiencing complications from breast cancer, passed peacefully surrounded by family on January 11, 2013.
Beloved wife and mother, full of energy she lit up a room and an inspiration to all, is now with the Lord watching over us.
Survived by her husband, Andrew Thompson; daughter Kristi Williams (Ted); son John Thompson (Lisa).
Memorial mass at St Patrick Catholic Church, 6803 Old Hwy 441 South, Mount Dora, FL 32757 on Fri, Jan 18, 2013 at 9am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mary Ormonde
Mary Ormonde, 89, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away on January 9, 2013. She was born on April 3, 1923 to the late Antone and Maria Motta, in East Providence, RI.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, Florida.
Mary was a beautician for 50 years and began her career working for The Boston Store in Providence, Rhode Island. She opened her own salon in 1956 in North Scituate, Rhode Island. Mary owned and operated her salon for almost 40 years.
Mary’s favorite childhood memories were of playing baseball in the cow pasture of her family farm. These memories led to a lifelong love of baseball and her beloved Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Joseph Ormonde; sons, Fred Reichwein and Alan Reichwein; daughter, Rosemary Reichwein Ibach; stepsons, Joseph, Mark, and Matthew Ormonde; sister, Evelyn (Harold) Knight; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North Scituate Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 357, North Scituate, Rhode Island, 02857.
