Johnnie Jenkins Jr.

HAWTHORNE - Johnnie Jenkins Jr. of Hawthorne died April 15 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville after a brief illness. He was 69.

Mr. Jenkins was a retired janitor. He also served in the U.S. Army.

He was a lifelong resident of Hawthorne and a member of the Lighthouse Church of God in Alachua.

Survivors include a sister, Devonne Hutchinson of Gainesville.

Willie LaMontagne

Willie "Billie" LaMontagne of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at AGH.

She was 91.

Mrs. LaMontagne was a retired chief operator at the telephone exchange at the University of Florida.

Born in McRae, Ga., she moved from McRae to Gainesville 73 years ago.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville.

Survivors include two nieces, Esther S. Hendrix and Nita Thomas, both of Gainesville; and four nephews, including Joe Cheatham of Gainesville.

Kathyrn C. Mickalonis

Kathyrn C. Mickalonis of Gainesville died Monday in Gainesville. She was 81.

Mrs. Mickalonis was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Morristown, Tenn.

Born in Mechanicville, N.Y., she moved from Morristown to Gainesville six years ago.

She enjoyed dancing.

Survivors include a daughter, Maura A. Moore of Gainesville; two sons, Francis S. Conroy of Gainesville and Martin P. Mickalonis of Bonaire, Ga.; a brother, Joseph Conroy of New York; a sister, Joan Fitzpatrick of Mechanicville; and four grandchildren.

Patricia Ann Mims

BARTOW - Patricia Ann Mims of Bartow died Monday at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 46.

Mrs. Mims was a hospital housekeeper.

Born in Perry, she moved to Bartow 19 years ago.

She was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy W. Mims of Bartow; two sons, Dennis L. Henderson of Bartow and Tony D. Henderson Sr. of Trenton; a sister, Nancy R. Franklin of Pinson, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

Leroy Moore

TITUSVILLE - Leroy Moore of Titusville died unexpectedly Friday at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville. He was 55.

Elder Moore was a pastor at Mount Calvary Holiness Church of Titusville, now United Christian Fellowship.

Born in Lawtey, he moved from Lawtey to Brevard 36 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Moore of Titusville; his mother, Charlie Mae Moore of Lawtey; a son; two daughters; one stepson; two stepdaughters; four brothers, including Jesse Moore of Lawtey; five sisters; and four grandchildren.

Alan Murphy

Alan "Frank" Murphy of Gainesville died unexpectedly Sunday at Shands at AGH. He was 38.

Mr. Murphy was a cook. He also served in the U.S. Marines.

Born in Archer, he moved to Gainesville three years ago.

Mr. Murphy was a member of the Church of God in Christ in Archer.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jean Murphy of Archer; a son, Arthur L. Lee of Archer; two daughters, Shonverea Robinson and Keila Lee, both of Archer; a sister, Terriceda A. Rose of Archer; two brothers, Gerald Hayes of Gainesville and Warren Brown of Archer.

Fletcher Alvin Sisk Jr.

Fletcher Alvin Sisk Jr. of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at AGH. He was 77.

Mr. Sisk was a retired technician for Southern Bell, now BellSouth. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Born in Williford, he moved from Miami to Gainesville 51 years ago.

He was a charter member of Highlands Presbyterian Church and a member of R.T. Schaeffer Masonic Lodge No. 350, 82nd Airborne Division Association No. 376 Parachutists and the Artillery Association.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold E. Sisk.

Survivors include his wife, Verna T. Sisk of Gainesville; two daughters, Rosetta M. Coggins of Chiefland and Geneva E. Walker of Jacksonville Beach; a son, Stephen G. Sisk of Gainesville; a brother, William S. Sisk of Wauchula; in zipcode directory not in atlas three sisters, Wanda Hayes of Williston and Winona Edwards and Patricia Gay, both of Live Oak; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Muriel H. Lee Stevens

Muriel H. Lee Stevens, who had just moved from Gainesville to Carmel, Ind., died April 15 in Carmel. She was 77.

Mrs. Stevens was a former president of the Pink Ladies at Alachua General Hospital, now Shands at AGH, and was past president of the Mental Health Association. She also helped develop the first information and referral service in Gainesville and was a former executive director of the Area Agency on Aging for the North Central Florida District. She served several Florida governors as ombudsman for aging issues.

Born in Augusta, Ga., she moved from Gainesville to Carmel two weeks ago.

She was honored as Woman of the Year in Gainesville and was named in Who's Who in American Women.

Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Robert W. Myers Jr. of Indianapolis, Fredrick D. Myers of St. Louis, and Tedfred Myers III of Windsor, Canada; and eight grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to American Cancer Society or to Scholarships for Children to Camp Weed at Holy Trinity Church in Gainesville.

Frances Faulkner Wadsworth

PAINTERS HILL - Frances Faulkner Wadsworth of Painters Hill died Tuesday at her home. She was 83.

Mrs. Wadsworth was a retired schoolteacher.

Born in Gainesville, she moved from Hawthorne to Painters Hill 59 years ago.

She received an education degree from Stetson University in DeLand.

Mrs. Wadsworth was a member of the American Cancer Society, Flagler Historical Society and Delta Kappa Gamma.

She was a Baptist. She enjoyed aerobics, wildflowers, stargazing and cats.

Mrs. Wadsworth was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Wadsworth.

Survivors include three daughters; a brother; a sister; and four grandchildren.

Marie Roberson Wilkerson

ALACHUA - Marie Roberson "Mother" Wilkerson of Alachua died Saturday at Shands at AGH in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 62.

Mrs. Wilkerson was a homemaker and a member of the Alachua congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Born in Castleberry, Ala., she moved to Alachua about 40 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Leon Wilkerson Jr. of Alachua; a son, Gaston Leon Wilkerson of Alachua; six daughters, Brenda Petty, Deneace Joshua, L. Nora Albert and Leah Wilkerson, all of Alachua, Sebrina Darby of Tampa and Equilla Bjerregaard of Trenton; three brothers, Billy Stephens and Rudolph Stephens, both of Gainesville, and Ronnie Roberson of Jesup, Ga.; five sisters, Betty Joyce Davis and Willa Mae Williams, both of Gainesville, Pauline Petty of Nassau, Bahamas, and Gussie Walker and Linda Roberson, both of Miami; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Hedwig Mueller Eisen

IMBODEN, Ark. - Hedwig Mueller Eisen of Imboden, Ark., died Sunday in her home after a long illness. She was 75.

Mrs. Eisen was born in Columbus, Ohio, and moved from Coral Gables to Gainesville 13 years ago.

She was a retired legal secretary and court transcriptionist and toured the United States and Canada with the American Civic Opera Co. in the 1940s.

Survivors include a daughter, Margot Eisen McLeod of Imboden, Ark.; a son, Geoffrey E. Eisen of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; two sisters, Lenor Mueller Ebersole and Cornelia Herr Mueller, both of Gainesville; and a brother, Eugene Mueller of Columbus.
