LIVE OAK - Arthur Douglas of Live Oak died Sunday at his home. He was 77.

Mr. Douglas was an automobile mechanic. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Born in Charleston, W.Va., he moved from Ohio to Live Oak 27 years ago.

Mr. Douglas was a Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Douglas of Live Oak; seven sons, Arthur Douglas II of Akron, Ohio, Ronnie Douglas of Dallas, Danny Douglas and Tommy Douglas, both of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Eddie Douglas of Asheville, N.C., and Gary Douglas and Bobby Douglas, both of Coshocton, Ohio; three daughters, Eva Bassett and Anna Bassett, both of Coshocton, and Rosie Douglas of Cleveland; two stepsons, William Baker of Jacksonville, N.C., and Robert Lee Baker of Coshocton; four brothers, Junior Douglas, Clinton Douglas and Herschel Douglas, all of Beloit, Ohio, and Hubert Douglas of Fort Lauderdale; six sisters, Florence Walker of Lexington, Ky., Emma Jean Newhouse of Charleston, Alice Rayburn of Akron, Dorma Harris of Evansville, Ind., Edna Terry of Columbus, Ohio, and Edith Holsclaw of Cypress, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Emelda DeWitt Faison

ARCHER - Emelda DeWitt "Gigi" Faison died Sunday in Archer. She was 79.

Mrs. Faison was a homemaker and a Methodist.

Born in Washington, D.C., she moved from Hallandale to Archer 16 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Faison; and a son, Edward "Lanny" Faison.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Jean Smith of Vero Beach; a son, Steven Morris Faison of Archer; a brother, Howard Morris of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Archer United Methodist Church or to Grace United Methodist Church.

Maryetta Moore Graham

CROSS CITY - Maryetta Moore Graham of Cross City died Sunday at her home.

She was 71.

Mrs. Graham was a homemaker. Born in Venice, Calif., she moved from Hobe Sound to Cross City 15 years ago.

Mrs. Graham enjoyed playing bingo and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary, the Golden Oldies of Cross City and the Cross City Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Graham.

Survivors include six sons, James D. Graham, Joe M. Graham, Patrick W. Graham and Ronald Graham, all of Hobe Sound, and Jerry W. Graham and Paul D. Graham, both of Cross City; a brother, William Moore of Stuart; a sister, Rosie Martz of Jenkinstown, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

Pauline C. Hall

DOWLING PARK - Pauline C. Hall of Dowling Park died Sunday in Dowling Park.

She was 84.

Mrs. Hall was a retired teacher.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she moved from Racine, Wis., to Dowling Park 12 years ago.

Mrs. Hall was a member of the Bixler Memorial Advent Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hall.

Survivors include a brother, Raymond Carter of East Norwalk, Conn.; and a sister, Mary Clark of Lakeville, Conn.

Ruby Lee Philmon

CROSS CITY - Ruby Lee Philmon of Cross City died Sunday at Vencor Hospital. She was 80.

Mrs. Philmon was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Born in Palatka, she moved from Lakeland to Cross City 53 years ago.

Mrs. Philmon enjoyed arts, crafts and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Otis Bearl Philmon of Cross City; three sons, Dan Philmon and Bearl Philmon, both of Old Town, and Kenneth Philmon of Fort Myers; three daughters, Shirley Cannon of Old Town, Martha Williams of State Line, Miss., and Carla Sue Philmon of Altamonte Springs; a sister, Lucille Robins of Bushnell; 15 grandchildren; 31 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Marcia Furnari Stokes

WALDO - Marcia Furnari Stokes of Waldo died Monday at Shands at AGH in Gainesville. She was 68.

Mrs. Stokes was a homemaker and a member of the Waldo Gospel Tabernacle.

Born in Fort Myers Beach, she moved from Merritt Island to Waldo 20 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe G. Furnari.

Survivors include her husband, Claude K. Stokes of Waldo; two daughters, Clara Miller of Waldo and Darlene Sherrill of Bell; a brother, Lionel Blake of Cypress; a sister, Clarice Montz of Lake Placid; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Josephine L. Hoppock

OCALA - Josephine L. Hoppock of Ocala died Saturday in Ocala. She was 79.

Mrs. Hoppock was a retired office manager at Weinroth Real Estate in Trenton, N.J.

She was born in Trenton and moved from Gainesville to Ocala six years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest F. Hoppock of Ocala; a daughter, Christine Hoppock of Gainesville; and a sister, S. Olga Yedlinsky of Ocala.

Michael Anthony Ardovino Jr.

Michael Anthony Ardovino Jr. of Trenton died Friday at Shands at the University of Florida after a long illness. He was 57.

Mr. Ardovino was an automotive mechanic.

He was born in Birmingham, Ala., and moved to Trenton 19 years ago.

Mr. Ardovino belonged to the Holy Faith Catholic Church in Gainesville. He enjoyed remodeling his house.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Ardovino of Trenton; two sons, Michael Anthony Ardovino III of Trenton and Kyle Roberts of Bonifay; five daughters, Helen Jean Revis of Sarasota, Margarett Ann-Castillo of Fanning Springs, Mary Elizabeth Ardovino of Trenton, Tammy Kay Spegele of Deltona and Julie Anne Langford of Alachua; and three grandchildren.

Carl Lorenzo Bostick

Carl Lorenzo Bostick of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at AGH after a brief illness. He was 76.

Mr. Bostick was a retired U.S. Postal Service carrier.

Mr. Bostick was born in Lake City and came here 33 years ago from Daytona Beach. He graduated from Campbell Street High School in Daytona Beach and received his bachelor's degree from Bethune-Cookman College, where he belonged to the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

He was a member of the National Association of Retired Letter Carriers and the board of the Neighborhood Housing and Development Corp.

Mr. Bostick was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Caretha Love Bostick of Gainesville.

Cecil Edward Carter

NEWBERRY - Maj. Cecil Edward Carter of Newberry died Friday in Newberry after a long illness. He was 67.

Maj. Carter was retired frommajor in the U.S. Army. A Vietnam veteran, he served for 24 years in the Army before retiring in 1973. He worked in military intelligence, security and law enforcement.

Maj. Carter was born in Wallins Creek, Ky., and came to Newberry nine years ago from New Port Richey.

He belonged to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sharron Hayes Carter of Newberry; five daughters, Deborah McGee of Tampa, Doris Van Saun of Jacksonville, Maria Ridley of Freemont, Calif., Janice Montague of Newport News, Va., and Linda Sullivan of Lakewood, Colo.; two sons, Dr. Charles E. Carter of Prospect, Ky., and Joe Carter of Atlanta; a sister, Lela Simpson of Florence, Ky.; two brothers, Charles Carter Jr. and William Carter, both of Lexington, Ky.; and 13 grandchildren.
