Clyde Trammell Kelly

WILLISTON -- Clyde Trammell Kelly of Williston died Saturday in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 85.

Mr. Kelly was a retired machinist for Parker and Mick Welding in Jacksonville.

Born in Raiford, he moved from Jacksonville to Williston nine years ago.

He was a member of West Connett Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Winnie Raye Kelly of Williston; two sons, Earl Eugene Kelly and Jerald Richard Kelly, both of Jacksonville; a daughter, Barbara Weldon of Williston; a brother, Howard Travis Kelly of Gainesville; three sisters, Evelyn Connors of Jacksonville, and Geneva Castellucci and Dorothy Harrell, both of Timmonsville, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

John C. Lloyd

John C. Lloyd of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville.

He was 69.

Mr. Lloyd was a retired State Farm Insurance agent in Naples.

Born in Jacksonville, he moved from Naples to Gainesville last year.

He was a charter member of the Gator Booster Club and of Faith Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir and served on the Board of Lay Ministries.

Survivors include his wife, Renata Lloyd of Naples; two daughters, Kelly Dolan of Gainesville and Kay Lucas of Roswell, Ga.; three sisters, Eileen Tyre of Green Cove Springs, Lucille Dekle of Jacksonville and Bittie Waldron of Palatka; a brother, James Lloyd of Hilton Head, S.C.; and four grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Music Fund at Faith Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Minnie Mills

LIVE OAK -- Minnie "Jean" Mills of Live Oak died Monday at her home after a long illness. She was 88.

Mrs. Mills was a retired elementary school secretary.

Born in Forney, Texas, she moved from Los Angeles to Live Oak 30 years ago.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Christian Science Faith.

Survivors include a son, Hugh Mills of Live Oak; and two grandsons.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Love Inc. in Live Oak.

Harold William Ruffaner

Harold William Ruffaner of Gainesville died Thursday at Shands at AGH.

He was 75.

Mr. Ruffaner was a retired driver for Accent Medivan. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he moved from Wildwood to Gainesville 10 years ago.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Survivors include his companion, Connie Gonzalez of Gainesville.

Stephen Paul Sims

Stephen Paul Sims of Gainesville died Friday at his home after a long illness. He was 47.

Mr. Sims operated Printing Press. He also formerly served in the Peace Corps in Africa.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., he moved from Orlando to Gainesville 21 years ago.

Mr. Sims was a Buddhist.

Survivors include his wife, Celia Sims of Gainesville; a daughter, Kelley Celeste Sims of Gainesville; a son, Alexander Wolfgang Sims of Gainesville; his parents, Wilbur and Kay Sims of Orlando; a brother, David N. Sims of Sodus, Mich.; and a sister, Laura K. Pinto of Clermont.

James H. Yeckring

MICANOPY -- James H. Yeckring of Micanopy died Sunday in Gainesville. He was 70.

Mr. Yeckring was a numismatist. He owned Rebel Stamp and Coin Shop and later was a partner in American Coin and Stamps.

Born in Evansville, Ind., he moved from Evansville to Micanopy 43 years ago.

He was a past president of FUN, a club for numismatists.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Cox Yeckring of Micanopy; two daughters, Berry Yeckring Hoffman and Frances Yeckring Carr, both of Gainesville; two sons, Ronald Yeckring and Charles Yeckring, both of Gainesville; his mother, Myrle Yeckring of Evansville; and two grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to FUN Young Numismatists in Lake Mary.

Edna F. Griggs

Edna F. Griggs of Gainesville died Aug. 26 in Gainesville. She was 91.

Mrs. Griggs was a former teacher. She was born in Ouachita Parish, La., and moved from Louisiana to Gainesville 14 years ago. She graduated from Louisiana State Normal College in Natchitoches and Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Shaw Griggs.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Griggs Davis of Gainesville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to recreational activities at Bailey Village or Hospice of North Central Florida.

Leon Robert Deas

CHIEFLAND -- Leon Robert Deas of Chiefland died Saturday at his daughter's home in Chiefland after a long illness. He was 86.

Mr. Deas was a farmer.

He was born in Newberry and lived in Chiefland most of his life.

Mr. Deas was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Bobby Deas of Chiefland; two daughters, Gwendolyn Hunter and Sandra Couey, both of Chiefland; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great- grandchildren.

Noah Sarvis

HIGH SPRINGS -- Noah Sarvis of High Springs died Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 72.

Mr. Sarvis was employed in security and was a World War II veteran.

He was born in Carrabelle and moved from Miami to High Springs 20 years ago.

Mr. Sarvis was a former chairman of the Gilchrist County Republicans and was a state committeeman. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Patrick Sarvis; three brothers, Robert Sarvis of Bonifay and Charles Sarvis and William Sarvis, both of Panama City; and a sister, N. Jane Sarvis Nehring of Aptos, Calif.

Leon Ray Bird

OLD TOWN -- Leon Ray Bird of Old Town died Sunday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 67.

Mr. Bird was a shop worker in a company that made metal office furniture. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Born and raised in Freeport, Mich., he moved 10 years ago to Old Town.

He belonged to Grace Wesleyan Church in Michigan.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Bird of Old Town; two brothers, Robert Bird and Donald Bird, both of Freeport; a foster brother, Harold Jameson of Lake Odessa, Mich.; three sisters, Elaine Hunter and Sherry Fyan, both of Freeport, and Jeannette Cochran of Richland, Mich.
